Opiniones de Moku Kitchen Honolulu
Moku is such a great place to wind down after work—the kind of spot where the day loosens its collar the moment you sit down. Their happy hour is perfect for sharing: small plates but big, bold flavors that hit all the right notes. As a solo diner, I ordered the potstickers and the poke taco. The potstickers are perfectly pan-seared with that golden, crisp bite, and the poke tacos are fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor—one of those dishes that disappears way too fast. Both are great picks for happy hour and pair perfectly with a cold HAZE IPA. Moku is an easy go-to in Kakaʻako when you want good food, good drinks, and a relaxing vibe to close out the day. Always a solid choice.
Really awesome server, reasonable prices and good food. Hit it at happy hour 2-5pm, and save $9 on their Mai Tai and discounts on food. Indoor and outdoor seating…
Loved everything about the restaurant! Every employee we came across was SO PLEASANT. Opening the door, a smile, a hello, a thank you! Bonnie, Casandra and 1 more employee I forgot her name.. customer service was 110% food was an A+ I would highly recommend this place !! You all should definitely try MOKU! Also their personal touch of a homemade birthday card! That was special!
The pizzas here are outstanding, with bold flavors and perfectly baked crusts. The mushroom pizza with truffle oil is a must-try, and adding chicken takes it to another level. Stopping by during happy hour is a smart move—it's the perfect time to sample a variety of small plates at a great value. Moku ended up being one of the biggest highlights of our Hawaiian trip. The food and drinks easily stood out as the best we had all week. Visiting during happy hour made the experience even better, with generous discounts that made everything feel like an incredible find.
Okay, this is my go-to spot for fresh, flavorful food in Kakaʻako! I’ll be honest… the last few times I went, I was a little disappointed because the portions felt smaller and my order came out incomplete until I reminded them. But THIS last visit? Hands down the best I’ve ever had at Moku! The portions were generous, the food came out hot and delicious, and the service was next-level! I got the rotisserie veggie plate with shrimp which was grilled, fresh, flavorful, and totally worth the price. Also got the house made ginger beer which wasn’t too sweet and definitely packed a spicy punch! But the real star? Caroline, my server! She was incredible - friendly, upbeat, so attentive, and seriously knows the menu inside and out. I have multiple food intolerances and she made sure everything was safe for me, double and triple-checking with the kitchen. It’s rare to feel that taken care of! Give Caroline a raise or make her the gold standard because she completely elevated my Moku experience and restored my hope! If you haven’t been in a while, GO. They’re back and better than ever!
Do yourself a favor by treating yourself to this restaurant. Whoever crafted this menu was blessed with creativity and an exceptional palate. It balances traditional with the modern and practical. Exceptional food that is also accessible to someone that hasn't worked on developing their appreciation of food yet. I had the ahi steak, and sampled the bolognese. Both had balanced and exciting flavor profiles. We also sampled the entirety of their holiday drink menu with each crafted cocktail sparkling with their own secrets. The coconut brulee was surprisingly savory for a dessert. Our server, Thais, was the cherry on top of a delightful Saturday evening experience. She was at once elegant and playful in a way we found lovely. I hope to return! The only quibble would be that the restaurant could use some sound dampeners.
Moku was a true highlight of our Hawaiian vacation; seriously the best food, and drink, of the entire week! We went during happy hour and it was AMAZING! All the appetizers were half off during HH making them an incredible deal! We tried 8 things off the HH menu, and fell ridiculously in love with every item! The Ahi Poke tacos were easily the best I've ever had, anywhere. The Moku Mai Tai was $9, definitely the cheapest you'll find in Waikiki!, and was also the absolute best on the island; that passionfruit foam was to die for! If I lived in Hawaii, rest assured I'd be a regular here! Go, you won't be disappointed!
This place was 10/10, they had the best ahi tacos and their crème burlee was also very tasty. I would 💯 recommend this place , the service was also very good. Their pizza was decent , but they have so many other better fine tune curated dishes that are worth trying
The pizzas are excellent… Recommend the mushroom with truffle oil, add chicken… make sure you hit happy hour to split some small plates.
Now I don’t ever give 5 stars across the board welp they earned it we travel 240days out of the yr and have a very experienced pallet that said they nailed every meal cheers keep up the great work
I ordered the house made ginger beer for my drink and roasted vegetables as my meal, plus I added chicken to it. Ginger beer was ok. They said they add cayenne pepper to it, which was exciting to me. I tasted all of the ingredients in the drink, but the ginger taste was very minimal. The roasted vegetables were SCRUMPTIOUS! I added chicken and that was delicious as well. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Not overly salty, which I loved. Nice size portions. The leftovers the next day we're even better. I highly recommend that dish. I've been salivating and talking about it for a week now. I can hardly wait to go back and order it again. My friends ordered the smash burger and fries and the fish tacos. They all said their dish was seasoned well and had great flavor. My friends also highly recommended the monkeypod mai tai. The server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was crowded and loud with everyone chatting, but still worth it. We parked in the garage around the corner. The restaurant validated and we had to pay about $6 to park. There was a small stage in the back of the restaurant where they have live music. I will most definitely return.
Ok, so sorry but the food we had in Honolulu was not the best, and we went to several places. Food is really bland not much flavor. Then on our last day we found this place, the vibes were great everyone was so friendly. Then came the food it was delicious and full of flavor. Highly recommend this place. The steak was cooked perfectly!
Came here on a Friday evening for dinner with my family (including 2 little kids). It was busy but not terribly busy so they were able to take us in right away. We got the garlic truffle oil fries, roasted squash ravioli, coconut corn chowder, fish tacos, fish & chips, and cheese pizza for the kids. The food was fantastic! The fish tasted fresh. The kids loved their meal. Everything was super flavorful. No complaints at all. The service was great! Staff were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Our server also gave us a complimentary banana cream pie for my sister’s birthday. It was so good! The food also came out fairly quickly. The vibes are chill and trendy. They had a DJ when we were there. The environment is clean and well-kept. Parking is in a paid lot. Overall, we had a really great experience here! We would love to come back!
We came to Moku for happy hour, with a reservation, on a Friday evening around 5pm had an amazing experience. Service From the moment we walked in we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. Our server Christian was outstanding. He was super friendly, personable, and totally on it from start to finish. Although we lingered well after happy hour, we never felt rushed to leave and felt that we were genuinely cared for with superb hospitality the entire time. Vibe The live music added a lovely touch to the atmosphere. Like its sister restaurant Monkeypod, Moku has a fun and relaxed vibe that’s full of good energy. Food The happy hour prices are some of the best around. 1/2 off appetizers and all pizzas are $12 from 2 to 5:30 PM We ordered a few dishes to share, including my go-to fave the Kalua pork pizza, Szechuan stir-fry green beans, roasted squash raviolis and a margarita pizza. Everything was outstanding. I appreciate the consistency and the quality of food at Moku as I always know what to expect when dining there. We also got the pork potstickers and they were onolicious- by far my favorite dish that we ordered. If you like spicy this is definitely a must-try! I also appreciate that Moku serves non-alcoholic beer for those of us that don’t drink alcohol but still want to enjoy the happy hour vibe. Mahalo Nui Moku! We’ll definitely be back! We spent about $110 for 4 people- including all food and a round of drinks.
10/10 happy hour experience (2-5pm) and I don’t say this lightly. Mai tais were to die for and the shareable food was great. Plenty of parking and tables, not excessively noisy. If in doubt definitely give it a chance 💪🏼
Happy Hour is 2pm - 5pm, and you’ll not want to pass up on the 50% off, and their Mai Tais are the bomb! Grace was our server today and aside from friendly conversation, she offered great suggestions which were all on point! They validate your parking, so come out and enjoy their food, service, and vibes!
Small cosy shop, friendly service and delicious budget friendly food. Would definitely visit again!
Service was amazing and see all employees work really hard to make people happy with. Food was so amazingly!
Update as of June 12th: this plaza implemented a new parking system that uses your phone to pay. Muku offers a discounted rate of parking at $2.99 for two hours (but your first hour is free, so it’s $2.99 for an additional hour). It requires you to scan in and scan out at the restaurant, so check with the hostess if you are not sure how to use the new system as I. The Happy Hours are 2 to 5:30 pm everyday, not 5 pm as posted by another reviewer. Additional late night Happy Hours every night that starts at either 8 pm or 9 pm (depending on the day of the week). Update: came back again and found the other parking area (garage) and there are more spaces than out in front of the mall. We tried a few new things today: the cheeseburger and the fries were excellent, but a bit on the small side, the kayak pig pizza was interesting as my taste bud tried to comprehend two totally different tastes in one dish, but it was excellent, and finally the Vietnamese Bahn Mi Fish sandwich, which was okay but I wouldn’t want to order again. We had to wait 15-20 minutes even in a Monday night. And as always, the service was excellent and friendly. Stopped here for its Happy Hours and weren’t disappointed. It’s been a while since we’ve eaten here and the menu seemed a bit different. We had the special pizza, which was shrimp with pesto. It was delicious. We also tried the bugogi sliders, which were on the tiny side and tasted okay. I also had a Kalehi beer, which by itself wasn’t too great, but paired it with the pizza, it was wonderful. The sitting area was huge and very welcoming. There was live music that wasn’t particularly exciting, but it added some vibes to the place. Parking lot out in front was small and the restaurant validated for one hour.
From the moment we walked into Moku Kitchen we knew we were in for something special. The vibe struck a perfect balance between relaxed and refined — soft lighting, warm wood tones, and just enough island flair to make it feel like a mini vacation without going full tiki. The buzz of happy diners filled the space, inside and outside. Within minutes, we were greeted by the absolute gem of the evening: our server, Noah. Noah was everything you want in a server — friendly without being pushy, sharp with recommendations, and always right there when you needed something. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his passion for the food and drink was contagious. We kicked things off with the legendary Monkey Pod Mai Tai, and wow — this drink deserves its reputation. Unlike your run-of-the-mill overly sweet versions, this one was balanced, vibrant, and had that beautiful honey-lilikoi foam on top that made each sip feel like a little tropical celebration. Appetizers set the tone for what would be a flavor-packed evening. The dumplings were perfectly seared and filled with tender, seasoned meat — with a dipping sauce that had a subtle kick. Then came the poke tacos, which honestly stole the show. The fresh, buttery ahi tuna was wrapped in crisp wonton shells, with creamy avocado and just the right amount of heat. Crunchy, cool, savory, spicy — every bite hit a different note. We couldn’t resist trying the pizza, and it didn’t disappoint. The crust was wood-fired perfection — crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside — and the toppings were fresh, creative, and well-balanced. Whether you're a traditionalist or like things a little wild, there’s a pie here for you. From start to finish, Moku Kitchen delivered on all fronts: food, drinks, atmosphere, and service.
Amazing place with good music, service l, food, vibe. Their jalapeño mashed potatoes, tuna tacos and mai tai were good. Their jaalpeno mashed potatoes is a must try, unique flavor. You can customize the Mai tai with or without alcohol if you request the bartender. Great service. It’s little pricey but very worth the price.
This place is pretty magical from the atmosphere to the live music to the food. First time here and I was in for a treat. They didn't have the bone marrow but everything I had was cooked and presented very well. The live music is awesome... My second time here, and they don't disappoint. The ravioli was amazing, along with the shrimp deviled eggs and the sirloin tacos... is there anything on the menu that doesn't taste wonderful?
Great atmosphere. Huge bar, bartender Brandon knew his drinks. Food was very tasty. We had salad which comes with tasty naan style bread, smash burgers, fish tacos. Drinks ordered sex on the beach. Service was great. Dessert was the chocolate pie. Crust was so flakey. Delicious
We went here after our snorkeling because our captain recommended it. We got there right during happy hour and took advantage of their half price apps and $12 pizzas. We also got some very tasty Mai Tais for $8 during the happy hour. Our server Carson was very kind and checked in with us just the right amount! Would recommend since they have a little bit of everything you could want.
Great dining experience at Moku. Food and drinks were delicious! Live music was great! Our server we attentive and was excellent at handling my unusual food allergies (One thing I’m allergic to is carrots-I ordered the Bolognese dish, and thankfully she asked the chef about it and they used carrots in the bolognese, So I ordered a delicious pizza instead
House pizzas are amazing. The have an interesting cocktail menu and decent beer selection. Appetizers look great. Service, they knock it out if the park. Parking is tight but worth the effort. Street parking may be your best bet.
Omg the workers were like so nice and then the food was pretty good. I really like those green beans they have, they are amazing for such a simple side dish. But like those workers are nice frfr and also like the Playlist they have for the restaurant's music is pretty solid, created a great first memory for the date I went on.
We went for happy hour and had a good time. Food and drinks were good and the prices were good during hh. I like that they have free noodles with butter for keikis under 3. It's a nice gesture.
Maybe the best tacos I have ever had. With batter and huge pieces of fish. The sauce is a little spicy but not too spicy. And a great basket of truffle fries, crunchy and soft in the middle. Service at the bar was great and the place has a nice low key vibe. Located on Ala Moana and Keawe Street in a block full of restaurants, bars and shops. Very cool.
Been coming here since 2018. Would’ve been 5 stars, but changing the dark rum in the mai tai ruined it. Took all the smoothness away. I almost want to sue for the emotional toll it it placed on me 🤣. Awesome staff though, and the food is always 🤌🏻🤌🏻
I saw this plaace advertised on Instagram and my boyfriend and I thought why not try it and i’m so glad we did. We came during happy hour which I personally think was a key factor into why our experience was so great. Happy hour offers deals such as $10 Mai Tai’s, $50% off small plates which are good to share, or $13 personal pan sized pizzas. My boyfriend and I each got a pizza and an order of garlic truffle oil fries to share. Overall this was a near to perfect experience, I definitely will be coming to back to try more of their menu.
Good flavors but pricey. More affordable during happy hour! Mai tai with foam is great! Bugolgi sliders, green beans, wontons are great. Pizza can be a little flat but still a good deal during happy hour.
FOOD 3.5 An eclectic mix of pastas, pizzas, and Asian fusion dishes. We ordered bulgogi sliders, French fries, fettucine with tomato and basil, margherita pizza and ice cream sandwiches. All fairly decent with no issues. SERVICE 4.5 Server was very attentive and accommodating. Other staff were also very attentive and warm. ATMOSPHERE 4 Typical noisy brewpub atmosphere with plenty of service staff. OVERALL 4 I would go back for sure. Make sure you register your license plate to receive parking validation.
Went here with a group of people 4 adults, 1 child, and 1 baby. We sat close to the kitchen away from the music playing. It's was smart of the hostess to suggest that. Nice atmosphere, not too loud and soft, but enough to drown our group's baby when she cried. Friday night, a live band plays...it's nice. Tip: If you want to chat with friends, I suggest you sit in the back near the kitchen or outside. Service was busy, and no different from the previous times ive been here...they don't check on you frequently which maybe good for other. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. Food can be served (shared) or individually to diners which is nice. I like a few plates, but some of them were okay. When I bring out of town friends, the fishs and chips, the squash raviolis, and the tacos are a big hit. The garlic truffle oil fries are also pretty good. I don't care for the Caesar salad. It's whole pieces of lettuces...wish they were cutted so it's sharable. The broccoli is a bit charred for my liking. That's just my preference. My favorites is the mushroom pizza.
TIME OF MY LIFE!! I recently went to Moko kitchen with a group of ladies. A girls night out if you will, we had such an amazing time. The food at Moku was really really good. I did, however not so much like the potstickers. I guess they’re made with a specific type of pork that wasn’t for me. However, the mushroom pizza and the pumpkin ravioli were really great. The cocktails we had a bit on the expensive side, but they were really good and also very pretty. The restaurants atmosphere is awesome. It is a little loud like the music was really loud. Maybe it was just that particular night. The overall price of the restaurant is a little on the expensive side, but not overpriced. Overall, the experience was wonderful. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you had the time.
Very solid happy hour here- it's everyday and you get half off small plates and all pizzas are ~$12. Their signature mai tai is delicious and does not mess around- she's STRONG, and the lilikoi foam on top is delicious! Of the small plates we tried, the poke tacos, ravioli and mini sliders were our favorites. The pizza was also quite cheesy and satisfying. Definitely busy but the servers are on it and the live music is nice :)
Excellent atmosphere 10/10. Food and drinks really good 8/10. Parking was okay.
Great atmosphere when there is live music. The late night and happy hour vibes are good. They validate parking here. They changed to a parking app and the server will have a QR code for validation. The truffle fries, green beans and Mai tais are amazing. Reservations are necessary during peak hours.
We came here last night for a date night for hubby's bday. The place has live music going and aesthetically this is a beautiful modern venue. There were a lot of people so we did have to wait a bit for seating. I gave my name and cell # to the host inside the restaurant and it took less than 20 minutes to get seated. I received a text message to confirm I was on the wait list and another text when my table was ready. Once we sat down the manger, who was helping with all of the duties out on the restaurant floor greeted us and poured out our waters. Our waitress Briana came and introduced herself and asked if we needed more time. During our entire time Briana was patient and attentive. She was kind and super responsive. She answered our questions and made a delightful recommendation for dessert. When our drinks took a while to arrive she checked on them for us and later the manager was kind enough to comp us because we waited longer than 25 minutes for them to arrive. We got the truffle fries which were delicious. The pork sliders were flavorful and also delicious. The saimin noodles had a salty broth but everything else was good. We also had the strawberry cream pie and that had a thin buttery crust. It was yummy. I highly recommend coming here and enjoying the live music, the ambience and the food. We had such a great time.
Amazing place for lunch. Came by here before dropping off friends to the airport. To start this off I would say the most must order item here will be the CORNBREAD! Damn best cornbread I’ve ever had. Almost tasted like a dessert. I was very impressed. The other items I got are the pizza, green beans, garlic fries and their kale salad. All amazing tasting. Service is wonderful and atmosphere is amazing. Big restaurant with lots of friendly staff. Will for sure come by again.
I had lunch at Moku Kitchen, and it was a great experience overall! I tried the fish tacos, which were delicious but not very filling. Next time, I’ll definitely go for the smash burger—I’ve heard good things about it. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff, and the atmosphere was perfect—relaxed and inviting. Since I went for lunch, it wasn’t busy, which made the experience even better. The food arrived promptly, and everything was well-prepared. If you’re looking for a spot with tasty food, great service, and a chill vibe, Moku Kitchen is definitely worth a visit.
Met up with a friend who moved to Oahu 17 yrs ago for lunch. The fish and chips were great! Definitely recommend it and our waitress was very nice. She didn’t rush us out and allowed us to visit. Why are you reading this when you should be getting a table! 😎🤙
Just a bit pricey but hey, it's Honolulu. I like alot of apps and I had the Ravioli..it's different here buy very tasty. Could use alot less oil. We also had the shrimp taco..whoa that was spicy. While I love Ginger Beer, I don't like the cayenne pepper with it. But other than my spice levels, it was a very nice place. Parking was right there..with a small price.
Made reservations and there were limited seats available, the only option was by the door at a small, sad table or right by the band. Opted to sit outside, and there were A LOT of flies. Could benefit from fans outside. Ordered the Caesar salad with fish, and it was quite small. The fish and salad didn’t have much flavor. Very pricey, $30, for such small portions. All in all, it was good and healthy, but I probably wouldn’t go back.
A group of us went for dinner and got seated outside which was perfect. The inside is def higher energy and noisy. I really wanted to give their food a higher mark but I found that, while good, generally missed the mark in small ways: steak came medium instead of med rare. The tuna taco had perfectly done fish but instead of salsa they added some plain chopped tomato and onion (?!). It's a great spot with decent food but with a little extra effort it could be great food
It was our first time trying here and as soon as we were seated, we were welcomed with such friendly servers. I couldn't catch the name of the man, but he was super friendly.Always super helpful always prompt. We felt bad that we had a really big table, and he was the only one serving us and we kept giving him more and more orders. However, the reason why we're giving this a three star and with a one star food review not because the food was bad.The food was amazing. However, my son had a huge allergic reaction to the meat pot stickers. He started turning red and started getting hives. One of the managers and the server came up to the table and asked a couple of questions. We found out that they cooked the garlic shrimp on the same stove as the pot stickers. They then took our contact information, but my son was drinking lots of water, so his hives calmed down. I was a little upset, but the management and the staff were so friendly that we looked over it. I do hope that they change this policy of cooking and cross contaminating foods. Otherwise, this was a great dinner.
After a long day at beach, we were starving, and decided to have dinner at this place. It was a nice place, but the food wasn’t good. We had two of cocktails, truffle oil fries and the special pizza, which was shrimp and garlic pizza. Fries was good, but the pizza was too much greasy (as you can see in the picture and videos) with no especial taste. We ate it as we were hungry, but we don’t recommend this place to anyone. Cocktails on the other hand, were good. We liked the taste.
4% kitchen service fee included in your bill - same establishment as Monkeypod. The bottom of the menu indicates it is a "4% Service charge will be added to all food sales and distributed to our kitchen staff". There is no reason or logic here. If the restaurant needs to pay the kitchen staff more, RAISE YOUR MENU PRICES. Clearly your core operational costs are higher than your already high menu prices will cover and require a tax subsidy. The only real time to visit this restaurant is for happy hour and the Mai Tai might be the best item on the menu due to their unique lilikoi foam. The food is "ok". The service was a mixed bag. Clearly the food runner was having a bad night or? quite literally threw napkins at us and many landed on the ground - when asked for a drink napkin. Our polite waiter picked them up and apologized.
Nice service. Terrible food. We got margarita pizza which they chopped some tomato’s on it for some reason. Tasted really plain. We got the steak that comes with over cooked fries almost burned. Kids got pasta and burger both were terrible. We had a long day and were really looking forward for dinner. Very limited choices and not a single chicken plate. Will never go back.
The food was terrible -- the margherita pizza had clumps of salt, the dough looked half-cooked, and it was bland. How do you mess up a pizza so bad that it's bland? Additionally, the fries were burnt, and the taco shells were so hard. The server provided good service, but the white girl and short asian girl at the front were very sassy. Don't waste your money on this place! There are better restaurants in the area.
