Opiniones de Chilosos Taco House Houston
This place truly feels like home. Every employee is incredible, so welcoming and friendly. Any wait on the weekends is absolutely worth it, and honestly, it’s a testament to how good it is. The ladies in the kitchen put out consistently amazing food every time. We come here every week for the carne guisada, picadillo, and bean & cheese tacos, they never miss.
Hello my name is Sal. My blind friend and I were there for the first time this past Weeknd. I must say what a great experience we had. From the second we walked in, to this time we stepped out. First and foremost we were greeted with a friendly hello. We placed our order and were able to find a very comfortable place to sit. With a Blind friend it's very hard to have a place to communicate with the noise this was the perfect place. It was pleasant to hear and see how the staff what's very respectful with each other and other customers. We also found this place to be very clean and there was plenty of wall conversation decorations. As far as the food, it was just incredible. I have to say we cleaned our plates. It was very much like home cooking. I highly recommend this place to everyone. We will be back.Thank you to the staff and the cooks for such a wonderful experience.
I highly recommend Chilosos Taco House. Jesse and Erica were very helpful with the menu to help me choose a plate.I did choose the Red Tex Mex Chilli Gravy enchiladas. The enchiladas were very good.Very good customer service.Come to Chilosos Taco House and enjoy the food.
After moving away from Houston this is the place I miss the most and keep coming back to every time I visit. They have my absolute favorite breakfast tacos in Houston with amazing homemade tortillas.
We have been coming to the Heights Chiloso taco House for about five years now. We visit different restaurants from what we see on the reviews. We live in Rosenberg, which is a good 45 minutes away if there’s no traffic. Each Time we have gone we are never disappointed with the food or the service. Even if they make a mistake, they are truly regretful of it and make it right. You will not be disappointed by their food at all. Their barbacoa tacos are huge, filled to the max and so clean of fat! All their tortillas corn or flour are huge and delicious! All the different things I’ve had do not disappoint. 10 stars from us!!!
One of my usual places for tacos in the Heights. Tacos are good, tortillas are made in house, and the habanero salsa is on point. Definitely recommend this place. Also, if you get takeout, make sure to check your order before you leave. I've had a few problems with wrong orders, but they were usually very busy around those times.
Chilosos Taco House in the Heights is a gem I discovered while showing homes in the area. I had the Migas Plate with a Mexican Coke and a barbacoa taco, and the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has great vibes and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. I can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes. If you're in the Heights and looking for a fantastic place to eat, Chilosos Taco House should definitely be on your list!
Randomly came across this place on my drive looking for food! I totally recommend! This place has indoor and outdoor seating so it’s really accommodating for the weather. The service was very friendly, prompt and overall excellent! The food was delicious! The prices were very inexpensive and have a great selection on their menu. They also do reservations for parties, have happy hour and it’s family owned! 🥳
I loved their thick homemade tortillas! My wife preferred the well cooked. She felt they were little doughy and under cooked. I prefer being sat at a table with a menu, here you order at the counter when you walk in. Beverages, including coffee is self-serve. They were out of Mexican Coke and French Vanilla coffee creamer. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The owner or manager showed up restocking the Mexican Coke & following up with guests that he noticed waiti; nice!
The parking is fine. It's an unorganized gravel lot with parking spots in random locations. The seating is pretty minimal. A few tables inside, with quite a bit of outdoor seating. You order at the counter by the entrance. It's open seating so pick a spot you like and they will bring your food to your table as well as any sauces. The group I was with decided to sit outside in the little courtyard space. It was quite pleasant. The food came out in spurts as it was ready, but overall, was very fast. I got the chicken nachos. They were fine. Portion size was good. Quality was good. Not sure I'd order them again if I came back. Overall, a nice taco shop that is a good option for enjoying a meal outside when the weather is nice or if you have a dog with you.
This is place is always busy so we decided to try it. I was not really impressed. The place is small and doesn't have a lot of seating. And although they apologized and gave us free chips, we waited over 30 minutes for our meal. The food is okay.
Disappointing first visit here, will look forward to a redeem trip! Pretty much out of all food by 12:45 PM (queso, eggs, enchiladas), which I think was a fluke. Fajitas were ok. Realized after we left we never got the chips and salsa we ordered. Very sweet staff, lovely to our kids.
Great restaurant. It was my Saturday morning errand breakfast stop when I lived in Houston a while back. Great location. It's in a remodeled house deep in the Heights. Very popular. Due to the pandemic & just time, they've upgraded & streamlined the process, which seems bit impersonal (I was confused on how to order & walked past the ordering station near the entrance), but safety first in a covid world (kept literally banging into the clear plastic shield at the ordering station). The breakfast taco I had was good, but I've had better & for cheaper. So, much so, that I noticed the bacon was undercooked & very salty which distracted slighty from my meal. But, once again starting to run Saturday morning errands necessitated a change and Chilosos was a definite answer. So, not a bad review, it was good, just clear not my #1spot.
Food was okay. It seemed a like more hipster than authentic Mexican, and the later is what we were hoping for. Kinda pricey. Tacos were good and a decent size. The plates were still too expensive for the quality and quantity of food. Two of us paid about $25 (including tax and tip) for two lunch plates (one of which only came with the tacos), and we both left hungry still. But, the atmosphere had a decent vibe. The staff were all very kind.
This place has been here for a good while but has gone through different owners in the last few years. Also it was closed for a little while. But the cooking style has been pretty consistent, I think the cooking staff has pretty much stayed the same(Mexican moms who know traditional recipes). I ordered the Lunch plate which is your meat option with side of rice and beans, and the most tiniest salad I’ve ever seen. Personally I like the lettuce and tomato that typically ones with these lunch plates so I was disappointed with the portion size of that. Customer service has never been the best. If your coming here it’s for the food The tortillas smelled like pancakes but were delicious and very good size. Sad thing too is that they close at 3 or earlier everyday and they are closed on Mondays. Other than that I would recommend to check it out if your in the area.
I ordered food for pickup the night before. 8 tacos all different and upcharged. When I arrived at 9am for the pickup it was not ready until 9:15 which was frustrating since I ordered ahead. I was told the chicken would be another 15-20 minutes. Why have that as an option if the place opens at 8am and you don’t serve things on the breakfast menu until an hour and a half later. The tacos were so soggy. The potatoes were clearly stale/more than a day old. The jimmy bean taco was stone cold and we just threw it away. I am disappointed to have spent $50 on 8 tacos that weren’t good especially in Texas.
Make your conclusion Placed my order online at 8:30 AM and was told it would be ready by 9:20 AM. I arrived at 9:30 AM, expecting a quick pickup, but the scene was chaotic. I mentioned my online order and still had to wait another five minutes before receiving it. Over an hour for a basic egg and potato taco? Not worth it. There are other spots nearby that serve tastier tacos with far less hassle. Note- This is not first time it happened. here.
Tortillas are made like taco cabanas. Queso runs faster than a runny nose, then sweet Carne guisada tacos? This is not the spot for Tex-mex. This is a Texan taco spot, Nothing Mexican about it. Taco cabana has more soul and flavor sadly. Happy you got my money this time, not again!
Came here today. We’ve been once before and it wasn’t bad, so we came back. The restaurant was not busy, we ordered in a few minutes and I ordered the huevos rancheros plate which is about $15. It took about 25 minutes for our food to come out and multiple severs came out repeatedly asking me what my order was. Something finally came out which was a plate of scrambled eggs with beans and a small side of salsa. I was taken aback by the plate, so they returned it, then brought it back saying I could just have it since the kitchen would throw it away anyways. I took a bite of very bland, cold eggs. THEN someone came back, took the plate back to the kitchen, and another person brought it out with attitude asking me “what’s the problem?” after I pointed out that this $15 plate of scrambled eggs and beans is NOT huevos rancheros. I wasn’t even served potatoes, which she said “well it wasn’t on the ticket.” IT COMES WITH THE PLATE- per the menu. She then said I could go to the front desk if I had an issue. I was hungry, I wanted to get out of this ridiculous place. I didn’t want to waste more time on this place. My partners breakfast torta was also cold and nothing great. Do not go here. It’s a disappointment
If you’re reading this, do not dine in. The breakfast tacos are my absolute favorite and I’ve had them many times. Last Sunday we showed up around 11, and they didn’t have any eggs or margaritas. This Sunday, we showed up before they opened and we were fourth in line. While the second person in line was in the middle of ordering, they answered the phone to put them on hold, then made the next person in line wait to take the phone order, even though we had been waiting outside for awhile. They didn’t have chips today or beer. Within the 30 minutes it took for us to get us our TWO tacos, 15 Togo/doordash orders had gone out. Including 4 customers who were in line behind us but had ordered Togo. The first guy to order, before any Togo/doordash, waited 25 minutes before his one taco. We will never waste our time coming back. Obviously they only care about Togo/doordash, so we will order DoorDash. The time saved is worth the extra fees.
