Wowzers!!! Would give this place 10 stars if I could. From the giant pretzel to the best in class garlic-honey-soy wood fired wings, everything was over the top delicious. Service prompt & helpful. Absolutely make it a priority to come check this place out asap!!!

I've been wanting to come here for a while. So glad I finally decided to stop by. First, service is great. All the staff was very attentive and our food came out quickly and hot. We had the wings, spicy goat pizza, pork belly, fish and chips, and burger. Everything was delicious and the portions are very generous. The fish and chips are made with flounder and the batter was nice and crispy, not greasy at all. The wings were top notch. Very juicy and very well seasoned. These are sold be the pound and the pound is about 6 wings. The burger was very juicy and the fries were nice and crispy. The star of the show was the pizza. Goat cheese and the habanero glaze go together so well. The dough is top notch. Sourdough that is left to set for 72 hours. Dry and crunchy! The pork belly is very well done as well. Not too rich, nice and balanced. For dessert we had the bread pudding with ice cream. Very good as well. Lots of creative drinks as well. We were all left thoroughly impressed and can't wait to come back. Also, parking is available right across the street.

We met up with friends to catch up. It was too hot to sit outside so we picked a big table by the bar. The food was very tasty. I had a ginger beer mocktail. My husband and friends had beers and a cocktails. The yum yum fries were great to pick at. Pastrami sandwich was delicious. My husband didn’t like the lemon pepper wings since they had too much seasoning and a bit dry. Our friend got the fish and chips. He let us try it. I would order that plate for sure. Omg the raspberry cobbler was sooooo good. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Yall should swing by and try them out.

Monday feature Pizza. Thanks Josh & Matt. Sweet & Spicy Pizza. The crust was everything.

Great little place with wonderful food. I highly recommend the pretzel and the wings. We got the chili sauce on the wings with ranch and it was delicious. My friend's got a pizza and loved it, my other friend got the short ribs and said they were fantastic, I got the rib-eye without the cheese on top which may influence my tastebuds on it, but I am not a fan of the ribeye at all. It has a great peppercrust but all-in-all ...just felt like it lacked flavor. I'm not sure what the quality of the meat was so that could have been the problem. Also the fingerling potatoes were okay, a little over cooked for my tastes, I did steal a beer-battered french fry from my friend and those were phenomenal.

Cannot complain about anything except the fact the pizza was so fresh I burnt my tongue. We tried the yard house burger, wings, and pizza. All were beyond fantastic. Worth the pricing. We will be back! Truly, the fries were a highlight for me. Wings were the best I ever had texturally.

Nice southern restaurant. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Our waitress was very helpful with menu selections. The sandwiches and fries were delicious! Save room for dessert because the bread pudding is a must-have!

The crispy smoked pork belly was the best single bite I've had since I arrived in Houston two weeks ago. The skin is perfectly crispy without being burned. The dish is a little sweet with touches of saltiness. Each bite was a perfect moment of happiness. Then I had the pepper crusted ribeye and it was amazing, too. It's not fine dining but holy moly this is good tasty food. I can't wait to be back 🙏🥰

Buffalo fried chicken sandwich was amazing. Kimchi chicken bowl was good but was alot of rice and little pricey. The tikka masala pizza had fantastic flavor to it and dough was excellent. Cookie skillet was bomb. I ate way too much lol. Cocktails also high quality.

I debated posting this but I also realized gatekeepers help close down good bars. Drinks are superb. Food is spectacular. I meet a new favorite bartender every time I visit (3 so far. Grant and Jake are tops right now.) Best way to describe the aura is great food, drinks, and service that's never fussy. Be warned if they suggest Malört

Very underrated place. You wouldn't expect quality food coming from a bar but this place is it. Duck lettuce wrap are a flavor bomb, prime rib with brussels for $25 is a steal dessert is bomb. Definitely coming back

This place has great beer and craft cocktails, it's hard to pick what to drink! The bar counter is super cool looking made out of barley, and there are other cool decor pieces around too. The food is also yummy and they offer a great variety, been there for brunch and dinner. You can't go wrong with anything you order. The owners are great and very involved, they really care about quality. We've had great service as well.

Parking is across a very busy street, so be aware! Dog-friendly patio. Had the ribeye sandwich which was okaaaaay but the fries are to die for! Breading pudding is also recommended. Will be back!

Yum!!!!! Will absolutely be back. Great drinks and beer. The pizza is fantastic with truly delicious crust. We sat outside in the back area and enjoyed the low key atmosphere.

This place is great!!! Environment is so chill and fits the neighborhood environment so well. The pizza was excellent. Right amount of delicious (not sweet) sauce, and loaded with flavor, on a perfectly fired sourdough crust! Bartender was friendly, speedy, accommodating, and informative! Strong work SYC!

Everything here is a vibe! From the inside out! The food was so damn good as well! big portions & good size drinks. The white truffle fries were my fav! Next time i'll try their amazing pizza that i hear is so good! Their pan cobbler was also a mouthful of flavor! the asparagus was ok...i felt it needed a touch of lemon. the service was a bit slow but other than that 10/10!!

Great vibes! Found this place by chance and it did not disappoint. Local beers and crafted cocktails were amazing. We had the tomato and mozzarella salad, the herb pesto was outstanding. We also had the sausage, burrata pizza. Sour dough crust, sauce was sweet and had a nice crunch. Take a minute to stop by this gem. A couple of Chicagoans thank you.

Decided to try out the Harissa Marinated Lamb Chops. I was a little skeptical about some of the ingredients, like the pomegranate molasses and seeds, but everything worked! The lamb chops were so tender. The spiced carrot purée… perfection! My husband ordered the Pepper Crusted Ribeye. What a pleasant surprise the crispy onion straws were. Good cocktails! Last but certainly not least, the Crafthouse Mixed Berry Cobbler was sinfully delicious! I ate way more than I should have. Great service! Everyone worked well together and were attentive. Would definitely recommend and return.

Finally had the opportunity to take a day off and my wife and I headed to the Crafthouse to try the Hot N Crunchy Chicken Mole and the HBBC Pizza. Both of the dishes were absolutely delicious! The Crunchy Mole was absolutely amazing and glad that the Serranos had a nice kick to them which made the dish extra delicious. The pizza was super tasty and the beer can chicken on top of this pie was juicy and full of flavor. This was my wife’s favorite dish. Beer selection is also very solid with great local breweries on tap! Need to come back for their duck duck shroom pizza soon!

Perfect brunch after MATCH theater, less than 5 minutes drive and not crowded. Weather was perfect and they have great patio seating. Food and drinks were all fantastic. Shakshuka with pita, smoked ribeye hash, burger and kids chicken tenders were all amazing. Excited to come back and try all the other menu items!

This is a great place to meet up with friends, especially if you're looking for an intimate setting with fantastic food. The waitstaff were the perfect balance between checking on us and not being too present. You can choose to sit outside on the patio and watch the traffic go by, or in the super charming inside. No mater where you sit, I think you'll enjoy both the atmosphere and the food! PARKING... is directly across the street from the restaurant. DON'T MISS... the Fried Green Tomatoes! They are superb! ENJOY!!!

Amazing food, laid back place and great staff. Ample parking across the street. Ordered the Fried Pork belly, south swell beer (very refreshing but a little out there in terms of beer flavors), pan fried chicken wings, Salmon bowl and bread pudding. All of those were fantastic, far beyond what I was expecting from a Kraft house. I'm already looking forward to come by again.

Nice chill place to go hang out after work. The patio was inviting and the food was tasty. We got the spicy goat pizza (a little sweet and a hint of spicy) and the buffalo wings (crispy and tangy - my favorite). One of the friends ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and it looked really good and if it tastes anything like the wings then definitely recommend it!

Recently visited to catch up with some old friends. Outdoor spot was chill. Several picnic style benches with a side entrance to the interior. Outdoor was covered and comfortable. Our server. Stephen, was excellent. Great sense of humor and an eye for detail. Food was great. Everyone was pleased with what they had. Definitely recommend the truffle fries and the yum yum fries (think temptation sushi roll in a French fry. Sugoi!) Very polite and friendly staff.

Such a solid spot. The cocktails are so good creative but not overdone and the pickle pizza is unreal and to die for (just add pepperoni ;)) It sounds strange but trust me, it amazing the flavors just all work together. We liked it so much we drove 30 minutes to come back again while we were in town visiting from Colorado. Great vibes, friendly staff, and just an easy place to hang out longer than you planned. If you like good drinks and delicious food, this place is 100% worth it.

I stumbled on this spot for the first time and it was great. The drink selection is fantastic, the wait staff is super friendly and even when they're slammed the food comes out really quickly. I got the sausage burrata pizza, truffle fries, had two beers and two cocktails. Everything was fresh and absolutely incredible. I will definitely be coming back the first chance I get

First time visit blew us away. The drinks and the beer selection were ample and diverse. Our server Becca was on point with all the recommendations. Really the whole staff worked as a team and made the over all experience unforgettable. The dishes were absolutely delicious. We shared the pork belly and I had the pickle pizza but added smoked ribeye. My partner had the mac and cheese with a side of Brussel sprouts. We're both looking forward to trying other dishes on our next visit.

I felt like they were a bit shocked when I walked in.. I was by myself (No date) & sat at the bar for a drink/bite to eat, just to take a break from reality Thank you Grant for such an amazing experience! The pizza was amaaaazing, especially once I added the chili oil & honey. And the drinks complimented it so well! I will definitely be back for more!

Great food, great people! Seating is front porch, inside or out back and parking is across the street. The menu really has something for everyone, including us vegetarians. The vibe is laid back and welcoming. Highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Southern Yankee House☁️ is hands-down one of the best brunch spots in Austin! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming, stylish, and just the right mix of laid-back and elevated. The service? Friendly, attentive, and totally on point. But let’s talk about the food—absolute perfection. I’m still dreaming about the chicken & waffles 🍗🧇, the fluffy biscuits with honey butter 🥐🍯, and don’t even get me started on the eggs benedict with smoked pork belly 🍳🥓—divine. Oh, and the drinks? You know it’s a solid brunch when the mimosas flow like a dream 🍾🍊. Their seasonal mimosa flavors were such a fun surprise and ridiculously good. Whether you’re nursing a hangover or celebrating something special, Southern Yankee House☁️ is your go-to. Stylish space, creative menu, bomb cocktails, and major brunch vibes 🥂✨🍽️. Can’t wait to come back!

Stopped by Southern Yankee on my recent trip to Houston and the food was outstanding! The crispy pork belly and truffle fries were my favorite dishes during my trip. The service was good. I sat outside which was nice but unsure of the atmosphere inside. It was recommended by a friend and worth a visit!

Four of us had lunch. I'm sorry we all fell on our food with such relish, I forgot pictures. We ordered the pork belly as an appetizer, a Breakfast Pizza, a Margherita Pizza, the Pastrami Melt and the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Everyone's food was excellent. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, and I think it and the fries may have been the best I've ever eaten. I ate a little of the chicken out of the sandwich, and brought it home for dinner, but there was still plenty of chicken in it to be wonderful.

Phenomenal food that checks all the boxes. Diverse menu trying new things and seasonal options for food and drinks which is great to switch it up. Can be a little heavy but might just be my own doing. Great vibes there every time and service is usually great!

every visit has been a great experience. we usually sit at the bar, and the bartenders are always super friendly and helpful. drinks are really good and they have a good draft beer selection and the food has been incredible every time. i’ve ordered from all over the menu and everything has been top notch. one time, something happened where our order didn’t go in so it was taking a while, and the manager came and apologized and explained what happened and comped us each a drink. we always look for an excuse to go eat there.

Great selections, chill atmosphere, & very pleasant service. Shared pizza, & appetizers with my wife. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. Kale & berry salad, smoked pork belly, cowboy candy appetizers, and Sweet & Spicy pepperoni pizza. Loved them all!!!

We discovered this gem during a family trip to Houston, and it blew us away. Put it this way: if an asteroid were hitting Earth and we only had 24 hours left, I would travel back to Houston just to have my last meal here. Truly! Everything from the beer and the food to the service and the ambience was 10/10. Highly recommended!

Sorry for the delay, but this review is definitely worth it. Yes Bar is such a great spot with delicious food and an amazing vibe. It’s also a huge plus that it’s only two blocks from where I live, so it’s super convenient and easy to stop by. Every time I go, the atmosphere is chill and welcoming. The service is seriously amazing everyone is attentive, and the bartender is super friendly and easy to talk To, which always makes the experience better. Let’s talk about the drinks real quick because the cocktails are absolutely great perfectly made and really hit the spot. The crowd and staff are all really nice, which adds to the overall good energy of the place. Now the food… wow. Let me tell y’all, this is hands down the best burger I’ve had so far. Juicy, flavorful, cooked perfectly absolutely delicious. The pizza? No notes at all. It was fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. If you’re looking for a place with great food, amazing drinks, friendly people, and nothing but good vibes, this is it. Go try Yes Bar you’ll thank me later. Manny Kourradi🙏 Needlz Master Tailors

Yankee is officially our new favorite spot in Houston! The wings are hands-down the best! Do yourself a favor and try the tom yum wings. Charlotte was incredible and truly elevated our experience. She was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive, and so genuinely kind. Her excellent service made the night even more enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back!

One of my favorite spots ever in Houston! One of my close friends put me on this place, and I always love to come here. Very nice atmosphere. The wings are top tier, pizza is also very tasty and flavorful! The waiters/waitressses are very nice.

This is my 4th time here. Every time has been a delicious delight. Craft Beer, cocktails, appetizers, entrees, dessert... They crush it all .. along with fantastic service. Easily some of the best and friendliest bartenders in town. A chorus of regulars from the neighborhood are always here... Which is evidence of the quality. We live 45 minutes away but this is the place I will choose more often than not when we come to eat in Houston.

Cozy, but can be loud. Very nice patio eating area. Extensive craft cocktail menu and the anything with the sweet potato purée is divine.

J

Excellent food, beer and cocktails (a bit heavy on the ice tho). The pretzel was so fantastic, I didn’t get a picture of it. The service was very good but they did seem to rush our ordering a bit. The only other drawback is the location is fairly small and the parking is not ideal since it’s across the street but it is Montrose. Otherwise, we really liked this place but we do prefer the other (brewery) location.

N
Norberto Martinez

I guess parking at Southern Yankee has had an ongoing issue with break-ins as is evident from broken glass strewn all over the parking lot. My car and two others were broken into and laptop stolen last night. Yes I know the sign says to take your things inside with you. But this happened between 5:30pm and 8pm, even though University of St. Thomas security does rounds. Just heed the warning, foods always been good, service has always been good. There’s just a nasty ring of, probably young thieves and nothing is really being done about the issue.

Amazing to find properly fermented sourdough pizza crust in Houston again (after Figo Sugo closed)! We enjoyed the pickle pizza and the sausage burrata pizza. The (half-priced after 6pm on Wednesdays) dry rub lemon pepper wings are perfect. And the Mediterranean wedge salad is very nice. After a bunch of savory wins, we were excited to try a dessert, as well, but were sorely disappointed by the apple cobbler. Even without the added powdered sugar, it was cloyingly sweet and not very flavorful. It wasn’t even a true cobbler. It was just some baked apple goo with graham cracker or some such cookie crumbs crumbled on top, rather than a baked-on crust. We ate the scoop of vanilla ice cream, but obviously didn’t finish the cobbler. If they upped their dessert game, this would be a 5 star review.

I’d been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, so my husband and I stopped by over the weekend for Houston Restaurant Weeks. For starters, I had the crispy smoked pork belly, which was absolutely delicious. I also tried the ribbon salad, it was light and refreshing, but not something I’d order again. My entrée was the Kahlua BBQ Pork Bowl (exclusive to the HRW menu), which was flavorful and fantastic, but the portion size was small, you’d get a bigger bowl at Chipotle. My husband ordered the Fish and Chips, which was very disappointing. The batter was very bland, no seasoning...a little salt would have worked wonders. This is definitely not the place to come for that dish. We also tried the Mai Tai, which tasted more like watered-down fruit juice than a cocktail. For dessert, we went with the peach cobbler, recommended by our server. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really a cobbler, it was a peach crumb. To make matters worse, there were only a few small slices of peach, with the dessert being almost entirely crumb topping. Definitely not what we expected. We sat on the back patio, which has rows of picnic tables. The atmosphere was casual, but not particularly comfortable. Overall, aside from the pork belly appetizer, the food and drinks didn’t live up to expectations, and the value just wasn’t there. Unfortunately, it’s not a place we’d return to.

Ellen Scheumann

The sourdough pizza and fries were absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor! However, I was disappointed with the non-alcoholic drink—it came with no refill option and was filled with too much ice, which diluted the taste. Additionally, the server wasn’t very attentive, which impacted the overall experience.

M
Mike F

Stopped in today for the first time and sat at the bar. The bartender was very personable, and the drinks and app were good, but our entrees not so much. We both ordered sandwiches, the rib eye melt for me, and the pastrami melt for her. My sandwich was pretty much just bread, with hardly any meat, while hers had a little more, but neither were worth the almost $20 price (bartender did take one sandwich off our bill when I expressed my disappointment with it). Don't think we would go back.

M
Marcia Gonzales

This place is a hit or miss. Been here a few times. Food can be pretty good, but the service is iffy. Server was awkward and kept asking us every 5 mins if everything was ok. One of our drinks was too spicy so we asked if they could add more juice or something to it to lighten it a bit and they got upset with us. They kept repeating that we still had to pay for it, but we weren't asking for it to be taken off the check. They charged us extra for a little bit of cranberry juice to add to the drink! Then they offered us extra crackers for the appetizer...and proceeded to charge us extra!! Omg, this place will nickel and dime you every chance they get. We will not be back! Too bad because our previous brunch visits had been good.😢
