Opiniones de Tau Bay Houston
I frequent this place and have put some of my friends onto Tau Bay. I personally think the price, value, and quality are unmatched. My go-to is the combination pho and fried egg rolls. The egg rolls are like crack when they’re hot and freshly fried, TRUST! The pho comes out in a delicious, light broth, which is my preference. Their chanh muoi is the best I’ve had, with the perfect balance of sweet and salty, guaranteed to quench your thirst. It has the comfort of a mom-and-pop shop, and it’s sweet when the staff recognize us, greet us, and ask about our usual order when we return.
Absolutely outstanding Vietnamese food with cheap prices! Portion sizes are large and the simple aspects of the food are done so well. Would highly recommend the Shrimp Fried Rice and Pho Ga!
Decided to try this place from a coworker recommendation. Food and atmosphere was fantastic. I ended up getting their house special fried rice plate with Chinese pork, chicken, shrimp, and egg. Solid choice and they have a diverse menu.
I come here all the time just to order two orders of their largest size egg roll order. GREAT FLAVOR and texture defo handmade or high quality for sure! Perfect for wrapping and lettuce with cilantro and basil, jalapeños, etc., and then dipping in the fish sauce they provide. I’ve tried their soups as well and they are equally as awesome. Definitely don’t skip out on the other dishes other than the pho!!! Cause their Bum ba hui is very good! Sorry autocorrect wouldn’t let me type it without changing it xD their spicy pork soups and wonton soups are great too. When I ordered and asked for to go boxes the lady at the register said ‘you ate TWO ORDERS?!’ Incredulously which I think thought was hilarious and awesome. They probably took it as a compliment that I liked it enough to eat two whole portions even for being a smaller sized guy lol
This place was so delicious. I was not sure at first because it is in an empty shopping complex and didn’t look like the typical Vietnamese restaurants I go to in bellaire. But the pho was so delicious my mom really liked hers and said the soup was flavored exactly how she would cook it. I had another kind of soup and also enjoyed it. It didn’t taste “gamey” but rather smelled so aromatic I even drank a lot of the soup more than I expected. I think this is definitely one of the most delicious Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been too. I hope they keep this up it’s so nice it’s a family run place .
We’ve been going to this place for over 20 years. Love the bun Suong (thin slices of pork n four shrimp balls with lots of green leafy vegs). After we paid n left, found out the iPhone 11 was left on the table after we arrived home so drove back immediately. They held the phone after we called. Good people there!
This Vietnamese restaurant is tucked in a shopping center within Sharpstown. It's a huge room with lots of sitting which is perfect for big groups. I came in a party of 2 on a Friday night. It wasn't too busy and we decided to sit at a corner table. I have become a huge fan of pho since moving to Houston years ago (we have one of the nation's largest Vietnamese populations for crying out loud!). However, I will reluctantly admit that I haven’t ventured into soups outside of pho. Today I decided to get the Mi Cay Nhan (Egg Noodle Soup) and I think I have a new favorite! The soup itself has a slightly sweet but savory flavor to it and the noodles are fantastic. The broth could stand on its own, but with me being Mexican, I had to add both spicy siracha and zesty lime. Huge fan. We also came specifically looking for the spring rolls (Goi Cuon) and overall had a great time here. If you're looking for a casual restaurant with soup options outside of Pho, visit Tau Bay!
The restaurant has been around for quite a long time now and still run by the same family. The service is consistent and very good. The waiter us very friendly, whenever I come he remembers I need some Sambal on the side. The food is always good and fresh. Their spring rolls are springy and fresh with a very good tangy peanut sauce. They make the best vermicelli shrimp ball noodles soup in town. I eat here whenever I am in town. Love the food, great service what more can you ask for. ❤️
Wanted some Pho for lunch, never been here before, upon checking the menu the Soup #17 got my attention… ((( Mì Cây Nhãn!!! ))) new favorite in my personal Vietnamese food podium!!! It’s supposedly not Pho, but it’s very close to what Pho represents! Clear, flavor-dense broth with veggies, only this comes with pork and chicken cutlets, shrimp and a piece of fried pork skin floating over egg noodles!!!! Life changing !!! Nothing else to say! I was afraid of risking the trip, since this restaurant is not close to my area, so didn’t want to leave feeling I wasted a bullet by not ordering pho which is an addiction for me… but man…. the risky random choice paid off big time today! Spring rolls where good too, not pale, good flavor for the sauce, a touch of spicy, you could feel the care and love in the preparation, enough to feel it and dig it. Ambience and Service have that nice Vietnam feel and touch! This place is a Gem!!! 100% recommended!
It was my first time here. I ordered the combo pho. The broth was flavorful and good. A little on the sweeter side but in a pleasant way. The price was just right and cheaper than all the pho out there. A little less meat but quality was good. The spring rolls were large and worth the price. I enjoyed eating here and would return again.
Never knew this place was located here. It's definitely a hole in the wall. I ordered Bún Gao, and my friend ordered Bún Chå, which she loves very much. We also ordered shrimp spring rolls and pork spring rolls. This place was quite a surprise. Minor point, but they do not serve Bahn Mi. (Vietnamese sandwiches)
The bun thit nuong....charcoal broiled pork with vericelli was very good, the meat was full of flavor and tender. The ca phe sua da was very good....French filtered coffee with condensed milk....they bring you a small drip pot that sits on top of a glass with condensed milk, when the dripping stops you pull off the pot and stir up the coffee and condensed milk and pour it over another cup of ice....5 stars. My wife enjoyed and shared a bowl of Mi Cay Nhan....special egg noodle soup with shrimp, chicken and pork. We split a small order (4) of fried pork and shrimp eggrolls with lettuce.
Have been here twice and the food has been good both times. Most recently, had the grilled lemon beef, and I’d recommend it. The food comes out hot and vegetables are very fresh…would recommend. Minus one star because it’s a little confusing to pay. When you are done eating, you’ll just go to the counter to pay rather than them bringing you the check. Unless you see others going to the counter, you’d end up sitting at the table a while.
I ordered a combination pho. It had more than enough meat & the broth was really good. I saw the raging reviews of the egg rolls so it made me want to try them - sooooo disappointed! They were very tough to chew, almost rubbery like, as if they refried them. Their sriracha & hoisin bottles need to be wiped down. They were full on sticky.
Good prompt service. Restaurant is clean and seating is well spaced This trip we tried the spring rolls and the pho. There was a wide variety of pho and other soups to choose from. The pho we selected was very well prepared, an ample serving , and accompanied by good portions of fresh basil, cilantro, sliced jalapenos, bean sprouts, and lemon wedges to add to the pho. I would rate the pho to be in the top quartile of that I have experienced in Houston. It was very filling and neither of us could finish the entire bowl served to us. I would rate the Spring rolls at 3.5 out of 5. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, however, there was nothing much to distinguish them from the spring rolls served by the numerous other Asian restaurants in Houston. The Thai coffee and fresh lemonade were good but not extraordinary. Many reviews mention the fried rice dishes. I observed several tables enjoying these and they did look quite tasty. My next visit to the restaurant will definitely include a fried rice dish.
