We attended a 50th anniversary party here. It was held in their private room. The staff was amazing. They served tenderloin that was tender and SO GOOD! All the food on the buffet was absolutely mouth watering delicious!

I love good restaurants with good food and excellent service. Only when you work in the service industry are you reminded that you can go above and beyond to make an experience that people will remember. I will say cotton candy is not the favorite thing for a lot Oman celebrating her 50!’s but it was a very nice gesture. Cake would be more appropriate 😂🫣

Very nice upscale restaurant. Perfect for a business lunch or special occasion. Highly recommend the souffle for dessert!!

One of the BEST dinner dates I ever had! Were celebrating a birthday and will definitely be one to remember. Thank you for making it super special. The atmosphere was so elegant and romantic. I appreciate the owner coming to our table just to say hi!! Can’t wait to come again and try a new dish selection!

It's been a while since we have gone to Tony's so we were excited to go for dinner with friends on Friday night. Whenever we go we prefer to sit in the bar over the main dining space. It always feels a little less stiff and more laid back. I do sometimes find that the live music in the bar makes it difficult to hear your dining companions but the live singing was happening in the main dining room on this occasion which made it the perfect volume. We were seated immediately upon arrival and our cocktails appeared as if by magic almost immediately after we ordered them. Our table split the black truffle risotto and the spaghetti al limone to start and they were both excellent. Sometimes truffles don't taste very "truffle-y" but these did not disappoint. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente and had a beautiful sharp lemon flavor. I had the insalata treviso to start which was nice and light and when I couldn't decide between two pastas for my main course, our waiter offered to make a duo of them for me. Both pastas were great, but the tagliarini with yellow pomodoro was a standout for me, simple but delicious. Love that this classic Houston restaurant is still as great as it ever was.

The new Executive Chef is the best ever. Excellent service. Their servers and floor personnel are the best and provide diners with lots of attention. The Snapper Francese is one of my favorite meals at Tony's Restaurant. You must try the Grand Marnier Souffle for dessert. The best in the city.

Amazing service and food! Ambiance is amazing. Carlos and his side kicks always came by with recommendations and phenomenal attentiveness. Highly recommended!! Ahi tuna and soft shell crab shown here as well as a great shot of the dinning space from our table. Sampled a few of the pasta dishes and split the 55 day aged ribeye which was exceptional!!

Taste explosion!! Every single dish has the most complex and delicious flavors. Everything was cooked perfectly and plated artfully. The butternut squash ravioli was my favorite, as well as the confit duck. The waitstaff was attentive and didn’t mind answering questions. We were even visited by Donna, the owner. This place has a few rooms that can handle your small event get together or just a date night. This place is special.

Tony’s gave us the best service we have ever had at a restaurant. The food was incredible, too. We tried the lobster with saffron and the soft shell crab for an appetizer, the halibut with lemon caper and crab and the steak with Béarnaise sauce and crab for the entrees, the brussle sprouts and potatoes for sides, and the chocolate soufflé for dessert. If we were to go back, I’d order the exact same thing! It was delicious and an absolutely perfect evening. It was a pleasure to meet the owner and the entire staff.

Perfect! Tonys is a classic in houston. I dine at the bar and the service is excellent. The barkeep is a amazing making great cocktails and recommending the best wine for my meal! The filet mignon tonys style is a must and is better if your order the side of the truffle pasta. Dont forget the suffle!

One of the best restaurants in Houston. Hands down. Business, date night or with friends. Absolutely the best service and food. I love their pasta, their caviar baked potato, steaks, fish, gumbo, drinks, etc. Fabulous food, exceptional service, amazing wine list and a fantastic experience. Truly 5 star experience. Only valet available, so be sure to bring cash. There is also an amazing pianist taht plays Thursday and Friday nights (not sure about Saturday). Highly recommend.

Simply put… The BEST dining experience in Houston. The staff is always on top of their game. The food is simply delicious. We started with the beluga caviar and champagne then moved on to the table side Caesar salad. They make the table side Cesar from scratch table side and it’s out of this world. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with shaved black truffles my wife had the wild game seared with a nice sauce. For dessert we did the chocolate soufflé.

I recently visited Tony's Restaurant for dinner and I was really impressed. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the wine selection was great. The atmosphere was also very romantic, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Highly recommend this place!

I did like their food. We went there during their restaurant week and tried the linch special meal. The quality of service was exceptional and the food presentation as you can see from the pics, was very vibrant and playful. I’ll definitely recommend them and do try them out during the restaurant special week.

Extremely expensive and worth every penny. Staff is over the top friendly and helpful. As if they could read minds. Food tasted wonderful. If I could afford it, I'd eat here weekly. Excellent place to celebrate special occasions. One of the best restaurants in Houston. We ate in the bar area as it was a bit less formal.

Probably the best food I have had in a while. Great menu with authentic Truffles that can be drizzled over your dish. Fun menu also here.

Very Nice evening, food was fantastic. Waiter had a lot going on and two big tables he was taking care of. I was not disappointed with the experience, just expected 5 star service. This is more like a 4 star family restaurant, not a bad thing - just thought we would be over waited on. Last time I was in that building it was Maxums and the service was over to top. I will go back, the fact that Mrs. Vallone assisted us with a table and that Exec. Chef Kate McClean checked on us as well goes a long way.

This is a place to see and be seen, with classic old school style, so if you don't have a jacket or understand table etiquette go shopping and learn which fork to use before you show up. Pro tip...if you bring a date don't forget to pull out her chair and seat her first...Yes, it is that kind of place. The music starts at 730pm and is fantastic.

My wife and I had what I would refer to as comfortably elegant dining experience. No pretense, just comfort. The staff was attentive and helpful. The food delicious and the atmosphere warm and inviting. Will definitely return.

Knocked it out of the park, thanks Tony's. Duck was amazing. Lamb chops were great. Service was exceptional. Enjoyed the Oreo dessert, and the Date dessert too. The live grand piano was fun and fit the ambience. Didn't try the Souffle but saw plenty of orders of that leaving the kitchen.

I recently went into Tonys for a celebration and it feels as if something has changed. The food was fantastic, the service was great, and it felt like the staff was genuinely wanting to make my night special. I felt like royalty. If you haven't been there to eat recently you should go back. Adding them to the top of my list for restaurants.

Another amazing dinner. Their food and service are the hallmark of excellence. And the Tuxedo Cake is the best dessert in Houston!

This place is fine. The service is good as is the ambiance but the flavors were flat for us. Some dishes were great but others were pretty bad for us. Hard to tell this was an Italian restaurant since flavors seemed all over the place

P

Have heard about this place for years. While the service is exceptional and the ambiance is nice, the food was okay. Three of us went for lunch and the Greenway Express. We tried both the soup and salad, all three entrees and both desserts. Lynns Steakhouse does a similar three course lunch in the Energy Corridor for $25. Lynns is superior to Tony's lunch at $35 with comparable service. With respect to Italian food, Lamontes and Adriatic are about the same in taste and quality. Service and ambiance isnt as fancy, but i would rather go there when considering the price at Tony's. Dont get me wrong, real nice place and good food, just not blow your socks, which it should for the price.

Very classy place, the kind of places no longer exist. They don’t requiere special attire per se but everyone is dressed with blazers and a more than casual clothes. They have a live piano on weekends with an amazing singer! Great atmosphere. The food is good but it did not blow my mind. We had different dishes, from starters, to pasta & meat, good but not great.

Came here for Valentine’s Day. It was my first time. At first we were seated by the bar area. It was extremely drafty and the service was terrible. I was upset with the first 15 minutes of my experience here. But I went to the front desk as we weren’t even acknowledged by the waiters once we were seated. I had to ask for water and bread. They moved us to the dining room area and what a difference! The waiters were more attentive and it wasn’t as cold and it was more quiet. We had a wonderful evening after moving tables. But that first 15 minutes was unacceptable! I’m glad the team redeemed themselves or I would have left a bad review. Probably won’t be back anytime soon tho!

I've been looking forward to going to Tony's for nearly a year as part of our real estate pac benefit. It was a beautiful private evening catered by Tony's. The service was absolutely impeccable. From the valet, to the folks with the welcome drink and passing the appetizers, and especially our table servers. 100 out of 10 for the thoughtfulness, service, and minimal number of seconds that would pass before water was filled, napkins were placed on laps, utensils replaced, cups removed, absolute perfection. I have no idea how they have servers trained to be so warm and welcoming and serving at the same time but they are doing an outstanding job. I did leave off one star because I loved the appetizers but some of the entree dishes were not amazing. The snapper was fine but not extremely flavorful even with the sauce. The main steak entree was extremely peppery but didn't have much other flavor. The butternut squash pasta was too sweet for my taste. I tasted my friend's branzino and it was good but again, nothing to write home about. On the other hand, the appetizers that were a big hit where the crab cakes, beef Wellington, and crab BLT among others. I would definitely come back but be more selective of the main entree foods.

This was probably a mix bag when it came to the experience, it had amazing drinks service was pristine, atmosphere was amazing as well. When it came to the food it was where it got a bit downhill, probably the quality of ingredients was the only redeeming factor but the food was not at par with the other similar steak houses around.

We came to Tony's for HRW 2018 for a good experience. Once we were seated, we were asked for beverage choices - without any menus. This was something we weren't used to so we stuck to water. We were greeted by multiple waitstaff and ordered pansoti and amatriciana, island duckling and short ribs, and the tuxedo cake and peach tart. The pansoti was AMAZING. The pasta burst in your mouth, filled with tons of flavor and you could actually taste the truffle. The short ribs were incredibly tender, melt in your mouth perfection, and paired really well with the mushroom risotto. The tuxedo cake was rich and delicious without being overly sweet or too much. On the other hand, the duck was a little more tough than I expected and the peach tart was not as flaky or buttery as I had hoped. We will definitely be back to try some other items!

Good place. Tasty food but the portion size is small. Its not Texas sized. The pear salad that I had was good and sweet. The red snapper was unfortunately fried! I am not sure if I would come again. Worth a trip atleast once though.

Eat here! Overall great experience on multiple occasions. Consistent. Service is a bit hit or miss. We had a couple of mishaps. Broken cork on a very expensive bottle of wine, spilled items on one of the guests, immediate ask for drinks or cocktails after literally having sat on our table for seconds. We asked the gentleman to allow us to settle in. The result, he never returned and we had to get his attention. The food, however is great and they are very accommodating, splitting portions inches kitchen and accommodating other requests. The music was great, even if a bit too loud at times. But we made the best of it and the singer was very good and we got a chance to actually dance a bit. It is always a fun evening at Tony's. Just needs a couple of consistent improvements to get another star from this reviewer.

Overally, unimpressed and feel like it's way overhyped. We will not return. While the food was just *really good* but it wasn't anything to write home about, considering they're "fine dining". Our service was really disorganized; for example, our waiters would have to ask us multiple times who was getting water or what next course we had. I'm not sure if they sat us in a certain spot for a reason, but I have my suspicions. It was a bit odd. Anyways, the apps and main course were good, and their brussel sprouts were awesome. The wine list was great. Honestly, the dessert was the best part. However, I wouldn't return just for that.

We went to a reunion dinner there and it was disappointing. The fish had a great crust, but several people couldn't eat the middle bc it was undercooked. I really enjoyed the artichoke salad and the cheesecake. I originally ordered the lemon merengue, but didn't care for the texture and switched with someone. Maybe it is better when it isn't a large group.

W
William M

Part of large group. Food was ok and appetizers were small portion and below past Tony standards. Perhaps due to departure of executive chef.

J
Janette Gama

Attended a group dinner in the private room and it was not great. Service was extremely slow. Instead of having 4 cocktails we could only get about 2. We had to ask for cocktail menu's upon arrival and even when received waited a really long time to place our order; even longer to receive our drink. Old fashioned was watered down. Food was meh. Staff didn't know who ordered what. Plates were being switched after placing them with a guest. It lacked flavor. Rib eye steak was not cooked as ordered. My husband's tuna appetizers was never received. Would definitely not recommend this place. Houston was so many restaurants with better flavor at a much better price point.

This a lunch, food and service, review. While service here may generally be exceptional they did neglect to bring a menu for approximately ten minutes while dining in for lunch today. It also appeared they were pouring my spring water for another nearby table. The first course: gazpacho, simple preparation, loaded with freshly prepared seafood. It was light, crisp, and refreshing; however, I did find a fish scale in the soup. Also served with the soup course were parmesan crisps, and sesame crisps; whipped butter. The parm crisps were spicy but pleasantly so while the sesame crisps tasted good but seemed stale. The club sandwich, second course: dressed lightly with whole grain mustard and another condiment of some sort; perfectly toasted three layers of bread. The sandwich did not have mayo on it--which most people expect on a club sandwich--at least bring a side of mayonnaise with the plate. Also, since the other condiment on the sandwich is unusual and unfamiliar, while delicious, I suggest it should be listed on the menu with this food item. Accompanying the sandwich, half the house-made potato chips were undercooked and soggy--they were sent back. Note: Although I came professionally dressed, was courteous, friendly, and polite at every interaction, no apology expressed, or compensation offered, when I showed a dining room employee the fish scale from the soup. They had the proof of fish scale as they took away the bread plate it was on. Areas of improvement: I had no idea who my server was as no one identified themselves in any particular role. People did check on me periodically but not one person checked back shortly after receiving my courses. As far as I know no managers checked on me whatsover; neither did the Chef and I was there almost 2 hours. Pictured are: Dining room (facing East) golden tomato gazpacho w seafood Club sandwich Bar & lounge

I was taken here by a dear friend for a special occasion. They served me uncooked chicken in my salad, as well as pieces of the chicken that are normally tossed aside. They also fried the chicken skin and tossed it into the salad like croutons. It was revolting. The service was excellent and the dessert was spectacular. I am mortified by the main course. I did not want to tell my friend because I care so much about her and she had taken me to such a special place. But uncooked chicken in a salad is just completely unacceptable. And I took it home so that I send a photograph to the manager. But when I called that afternoon, I was told that the manager doesn’t deal with the kitchen. —Let that sink in. I was told the manager only deals with the front of the house. As somebody who worked in the restaurant industry, I can say with certainty that that is The Problem. So here is my salad:

Worst dining experience of my life for the price point. We reserved a table for Valentine’s Day, it was about $155 per person. We were sat by the staff closet and I was hit with the waiter’s tablecloths several times and received no apology from the waiter. Our waiter came by after about 10-15 minutes and asked for our drink order but we didn’t even have a menu. After we requested menus he never took our drink order. The man that was taking food orders came by and took our drink and food order. The drinks arrived but one was wrong, we sent it back and waited approximately 15-20 minutes to get the correct drink. We were ignored by several wait staff and were not offered bread until finally a nice older gentleman brought us bread and refilled our waters. Our dinner was a 3 course valentines dinner and we received the check before our last course was brought to us. The tables that arrived at around the same time as us received all of their food and then their check. They really need to train their staff to give better service. And I understand Valentine’s Day is a busy night but there is no reason why we should be treated like that. Food was good, and I would go back again for the food but the service was so bad that I will never again set foot in such an establishment.
