My family of 5 and i were around the area. We were craving some Mexican food and thats how we ended up here. Turned out to be the best choice we did. Fronn the beginning the staff gave us a nice welcoming. The general Manager ( Chely) happened to be at the entrance when we got there and she took us personally to our table with super friendly character she even recommended some plates. My family was happy and satisfied with the food the service and the environment. Will recommend this place.

We came here as a last minute idea for dinner and it didn't disappoint. We got 2 orders of Chicken Fajitas ($10.99) each with drinks and walked out only paying $33 before tip. Our server Yolanda was super nice and very attentive. We really enjoyed our date night here.

The food was amazing! We ordered the nachos as a shareable dish with a side of guacamole and it was delicious, super fresh made food from the guacamole to the chips. When we went in there was a 30min wait which is no big deal at all, we waited until our seat was ready. When we were seated the lady at the front kept forgetting to bring us small things that we asked for (straws, side plates, forks) while our waiter was busy. Our waiter was AMAZING he felt bad for the wait and even offered us a dessert on the house. All in all the environment and food was amazing.

We were really looking forward to all you can eat soup and salad (which usually means 2 cups of soup and 1 salad) but this location doesn't offer it. I did order a soup with my burrito though. My soup bowl was only half full and not hot so I was disappointed, I had the carne asada burrito that was mostly beans and onions 😕 i found 2 small bites of carne asada, again very disappointed.my daughter ordered a macho combo plate to share with her son, this is a great value! Four of their most popular items on one platter: a fire-roasted pasilla chile relleno, a chicken and sour cream enchilada, a beef barbacoa crispy taco and a handmade chicken tamale. Served with refried beans and rice. The beef barbacoa taco was so overcooked it just wasn't edible, the enchilada, tamale and relleno were wonderful. Everything seemed overly spicy today. The gentleman behind us started coughing and broke into a sweat and then excused himself saying his stomach was on fire. 🔥😵‍💫😁 Our server was excellent!! He was genuine, helpful and had a great smile! It was 11:00am so no excuse for overcooked and poorly prepared food.

got the fajitas sampler - it was great! the corn cake was especially delicious - thanks to the staff for getting us the last scoops they had available! only issue we had was that the fry oil used for the chips wasn't very good that evening - the chips had a bitter aftertaste to them.

Food was okay compared to many other Mexican food options out there. Had the carnitas tacos plate and the pork portions weren’t that big and bit dry. Too much white onion as a filler. Taco were small soft flour tortillas, texture and flavor were very plain. The sweet corn cake that comes on the plate is so much smaller than they used to give. It’s just about the size of two bites.

California Mex. This is California's take on Mexican. Cant go wrong with fajitas. Even the lunch size was plentiful. Parking is available. Restrooms are small but ok.

Food was okay had the slow cooked carnival. The guacamole was delightful. The salsa was dreadful some swill devoid of any tomatoes. Service was good and pleasant, doubt I will visit this place again

Ordered delivery, good pricing other than high delivery fee (might be a CA thing, I'm from the southeast). Chicken fajitas were very cold by the time it arrived, beans were still nice and hot. Lots of spice to the chicken (and maybe beans?) for someone who doesn't like spice (NOT a critique, just noting for others). Veggies were very good. I asked for no rice or guac which was honored (not sure if it would have come with if I didn't ask for it not to). I called before ordering and asked if delivery comes with chips and salsa and the woman said it does, very disappointed to see no chips or salsa.

El Torito is located off MacArthur Blvd and Michelson Drive across the street from John Wayne Airport. It’s a good spot to stop at if you’re hungry, you want to avoid the premium prices restaurants inside the airport charge, and you have time for a sit down meal before catching your flight. If half stars were an option, I’d rate them a solid 3.5. I recommend visiting on a Tuesday between 4-9 pm so you can take advantage of both their happy hour menu and Taco Tuesday. At the time of this review, El Torito is serving up street tacos with your choice of chicken, carnitas, al pastor and/or steak for only $3 each! I wouldn’t expect the highest quality Mexican food but I will say their food is consistent. They also offer great buffets during the holidays you’ll def need to make a reservation ahead of time for. Buen provecho!

Dont order pickup here, I'm delivery driver come here today to pickup order. I stand around for about half hour and asked 4 different staff they all ignor me and tell me to ask someone else just to pick up an simple 1 meal order. The restaurant only got like 10 customers but they act like the wholr place is pack full, none of the staff come back to check if the order is ready or not. They treat the people who dine in good but the deliver driver is so terrible, dont order takeout here

This location has the worst management ever. Extremely unprofessional. We went to celebrate a birthday after work & we had a cake dropped off earlier in the day for our reservation in the evening. When we came in, there was no host & then we finally found someone & said that we were meeting a party of 8 and they said there was no party... Luckily there was already one of us who checked in so we just called our friend to direct us to the table. Our server was very kind, we didn't get his name but he did an amazing job. Once we finished our meal, we asked for the cake & it was no where to be found. We asked for a manager & she refused to come out. We saw our server begging her to speak with us & she didn't come out until I finally made eye contact with her. She told us her name was Stephanie but later one of the servers told us her name is Estelle... The manager then changed her story three times in regard to the cakes? They amounted to $200 so we were very upset that management was NOT taking our concerns seriously. She laughed in our face & never apologized once. She also didn't even bother to come up with a solution until WE ASKED. She then offered us flan but we just declined & asked for the bill & the general manager's number. She ignored our request & brought out this "cake"(attached photo). The server told her not to go through with this "cake" because we specially said we just wanted to pay & leave, yet she ignored him. We then proceeded to ask for the bill repeatedly but she kept ignoring us. Please train managers better. Servers were very nice and understanding. They apologized relentlessly for their manager's behavior.
