Met an associate for last minute quick bite at 9:45p and they welcomed us with open arms! Our experience was amazing, from the warm Host, to our server Chris which was attentive and an expertise at pleasing our palate. We met the upbeat GM that accommodated us and made our visit delightful. In this picture is the citrus mousse dessert that was so refreshing I couldn’t stop eating it. I will be returning to explore more of the menu. Thank you so much!
Hands down one of the top 3 meals I’ve ever had. 240 day dry aged steak is what dreams are made of! Food was amazing, wine was excellent and selected to pair, and the service was impeccable. What’s more, is we had just come off the golf course in our attire and was made to feel welcomed to a very nice meal and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!
Ritz Carlton restaurant with another best in class dining offering in DFW! Knife Italian brings classic Italian delicacies such as Pasta Pomodoro, Margherita Pizza, Burrata etc.. but they do it style, taste, and Ritz hospitality. Plus, this amazing food is paired with amazing cocktails (my personal favorite, Django) and local / international wines. I highly recommend this place and glad now we have a winner nearby for great food and atmosphere.
I had an amazing experience at knife Italian! The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff making us feel right at home. The restaurant's architecture is stunning, with thoughtful, detailed design that creates a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The food was fantastic, with a wide range of delicious vegetarian options that truly showcased the best of Italian cuisine.
The staff here truly make the experience unforgettable! Everyone I encountered was incredibly sweet and genuinely caring. I came in solo for lunch with a book, and my server thoughtfully brought over a complimentary bread and fruit platter while I waited for the lunch menu to begin—such a kind gesture. I ordered the cacio e pepe pasta, and it was absolutely to die for. 10/10 recommend! Located inside the Ritz, this restaurant definitely lives up to the high standards you’d expect—especially when it comes to service
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Knife, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was absolutely delightful, combining modern elegance with a cozy, welcoming vibe. The design of the restaurant is fantastic, with every detail thoughtfully curated to create a beautiful and comfortable space. The food was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was a testament to the chef's skill and creativity, bursting with flavor and presented with artistic flair. The menu offered plenty of food and drink options, ensuring that there was something to satisfy every palate. The service was impeccable. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly attentive, making sure that we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. It was evident that the chef takes great pride in their work, and the passion for creating exceptional food shone through in every bite. Additionally, valet parking is available, making it convenient for guests to visit. Overall, Knife provides a dining experience that is hard to beat. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal in a great setting.
I made reservations for this place on open table not realizing it’s inside the Ritz Carlton. You do have to put a card on file. I went during the week and it was a packed night. My only complaint is I wish we could’ve gotten a table more inward, instead we were seated next to the window and could feel the draft from the 20 degree temps outside. They start you off with bread then offer you a small sample from the chef and at the end you get another complimentary bite size treat. The food was good. They were able to accommodate my gluten free needs with two choices of pasta. I want to go back just to take pictures.
My dining experience at The Ritz Carlton with my wife and another couple was elevated to extraordinary heights thanks to Tiffany Tobey, the exceptional sommelier. Tiffany's passion for wine shone through in every recommendation she made, the perfect selections that complemented the flavors beautifully. Her knowledge and expertise were truly impressive, guiding us through a delightful journey of tastes and aromas that enhanced our evening. Tiffany's warm demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for her craft made the experience not only enjoyable but also educational. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone dining at The Ritz Carlton to seek out Tiffany Tobey for their wine pairing needs. Her ability to curate an unforgettable dining experience through her wine selections is unparalleled. Thank you, Tiffany, for making our evening one to remember!
This restaurant is absolutely one of the best for special occasion dinners. The ambience is second to none and guests will be amazed with the way this place is organized. The people working to serve the guests are polite, professional and do understand the dietary needs. I am really impressed with the diversity of food and a number of vegetarian options. The restaurant manager made sure that she greeted guests at every table which was kind of a nice gesture. Masks are mandatory and social distancing guidelines are followed to ensure the safety of everyone
First time here!! Amazing, attentive service from waitress who was very knowledgeable about menu. Love las colinas period, but this restaurant is a great addition to the area- i was surprised to see that it was inside the Ritz Carlton! Will def be back again!
Oh, Adam F. . . . Adam, our server, was a treasure last night. I had four guests with me at Tesar's new restaurant on the Ritz Carlton LC's property (formerly the Four Seasons), and we were consistently delighted by every course we shared. A family-style, sharing experience for many of the larger dishes, Knife Italian is, according to Adam (oh, Adam . . .), an interpolation of Tesar's family recipes mixed with modern cuisine's many techniques and presentations. Fear not, however: none of the foods were inherently "new," but really tweaked representations of classics. We had the following menu after the amuse bouche of fava beans and aged balsamic dressing: Kingfish with mussel bearnaise and caviar (light and delightful) Burrata salad (while burrata is great, it really was the tomatoes here that shined) Charcuterie board (tasty and varied) Potato gnocchi with shaved truffles (a MONSTER, and, all things considered, the table's favorite for the night) Eggplant parm (mine's just as good *sigh*, but almost reaffirming in its simple, flavorful preparation) 120-day aged ribeye (essentially, a smaller take on bistecca fiorentina, and very satisfying) All were tremendous dishes with great skill in preparation. I was a little disappointed in the wine menu, but it's just been open for three days. While they had some fine selections, I would greatly encourage the ownership and the sommelier (a delightful, young professional who was acquiescent enough to chat about a common acquaintance we shared) to explore getting some Sicilians, Sardinians, and other wines on their menu. In summary, a really lovely night of food, warmth, and drink. I'm returning in the not-too-distant future to sample different things and recall some faves from last night's bacchanal. Also, Adam's the man. *update your Google profile, KE . . . menu options in the review don't correlate to your menu.
Had a wonderful time! What a treat for my daughter's birthday. They made it such a special evening for our family. Thank you!
So when I arrived at the Four Seasons, I was very exhausted from my long flight and starving. LAW couldn’t have been a better place to get some good food and a coffee. The atmosphere is also very lovely and welcoming. Plenty of natural light and definitely recommend the buffet. Also, their chicken sandwich is superb!
We had dinner here with another couple. It was our first time. The service e we fabulous and the food was amazing. It is a pricey place but for a special occasion it is a great place to celebrate. Thank you Crystal who was our waitress. She took really good care of us and took the time to explain the menu items. Fantastic service.
Had a nice breakfast here. Good service and views. Very original decoration.
We had such a lovely experience dining at Law Restaurant on March 29th. The food is outstanding. We had a delicious Shrimp cocktail appetizer and when the chef wasn't happy with the Grouper which I had ordered, they were very apologetic and comped our appetizer. I had salmon instead which was divine. My husband had an incredible steak. The wedge salad was the best I've had. Then on top of all the deliciousness, they brought us a surprise dessert with raspberry infused white chocolate petals that opened when the raspberry sauce was poured onto it. It was beautiful and delicious! The staff was very attentive and helpful, the service was outstanding. We'd highly recommend LAW.
Absolutely delicious. Has a high price point but the preparation of the food was amazing. The fried pimento cheese popper was fantastic. We sampled some of the desserts and enjoyed a cold martini and glasses of wine. The ambiance is beautiful and you look out on the grounds of the resort. Lovely time
Wonderful dinner and all around experience. Could not complain about anything on the menu and could not pick a favorite because it was all so good from the octopus to the pasta to the steak to the cocktails. The staff was exceptional.
We had a breakfast, lunch and dinner here over our 5 night stay. It was a wonderful experience. Food and service are both world class. Would highly recommend. The chef/operators should be very proud of their management team.
I brought my gilrfriend here for her birthday, based on the recommendation of a friend. The experience was INCREDIBLE! our server was David and he was both very knowledgeable and very attentive. His wine pairing recommendations, even with my girlfriend's very particular tastes, were spot on! And while David was our server, we're were waited on by multiple people throughout the night. The food, too, was truly amazing. We had the Clams Oreganata to start, my girlfriend had the Whole Roasted Branzino, and I ordered the Goat Cheese Mezzaluna. David and the team were sensitive to my medical dietary restrictions, specifically blood orange which they use in many of their dishes one way or another. They were able to remove/replace the blood orange in nearly every dish without issue. The only dish they couldn't was the Mezzaluna. I was looking forward to that dish very much and was disappointed I couldn't have it, but David recommended the Chicken Scarpariello instead, and I was VERY pleasantly surprised. The chicken was very moist, and a much larger portion of food than I expected! I had plenty left over to take home and eat for lunch the next day! When it came time for dessert, the team brought my girlfriend their traditional birthday dessert. However, they explained that their typical birthday dessert (a tart) used blood orange again as a major ingredient and, keeping in mind that she would probably share the dessert with me, the chef made a special version with vanilla instead of fruit. It was delicious, and we decided to also order the tiramisu which was just as good! Our favorite tiramisu is one served at an italian/pizza restaurant in Los Angeles where I'm from, and we've never had another that holds a candle to it - until we came to Knife Italian. It still doesn't take the top place, but one thing I will say about Knife Italian's is the presentation was extremely unique and added to the overall experience! Overall, we felt the team at Knife Itian outdid themselves in every area, and we will definitely be returning soon!
We went here for breakfast on my birthday weekend and the food was excellent. The service started a little bumpy but was more than made up for by the manager who stepped in and went above and beyond to make my day special. Highly recommend for any special occasion.
I recently visited Knife Italian for a birthday breakfast on a Friday morning, and it was fantastic! Our waiter, Taaha, provided amazing, top-notch service. The restaurant's aesthetics were gorgeous, creating a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious, and I can’t wait to return to try the dinner menu. Overall, a wonderful experience.
We selected this restaurant for dinner before prom for 11 of our sons and daughters. Thea atmosphere was beautiful. The food was great but most impressive was the staff! They accommodated our large party and really took care of our group with first class service. This was my second time coming and everything was as good as the first time.
Absolutely loved my experience at Knife Italian Steak!! Me and my boyfriend came here for his birthday and our 4 year anniversary. The food was delicious, 10/10! Our waiter was Rene and he made the experience even better! Super attentive, considerate, and the best server we could have had!! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great, a very chill and romantic vibe. Will definitely be coming back here!
I was instantly drawn to Knife by the design!! More than aesthetically pleasing. It caught my eye the moment I walked in. The atmosphere perfectly matches the level of service. Kristi did an incredible job explaining the menu, and the rest of the staff checked in at just the right moments. The timing, attention, and care made the experience seamless. Amazing food, amazing service, and a team that truly makes sure every guest feels taken care of.
We ate at Law for the 5 course New Year's Eve dinner. Great menu and very creative culinary preparation. I paired the pork belly appetizer and the bacon wrapped pheasant with the Rafael et Fils Pinot Nor. The expresso chocolate cake was excellent. Table service was handled by the Law Team, so we received ample attention.
I went here for dinner with my friend who was visiting from our of town. We had the deviled egg which neither of us cared for. However the red snapper I had was excellent and the brussel sprouts were great. We both ordered wine and for $21 per glass the pour seemed short so that was disappointing. The service was great. I overall a solid place for a very nice dinner.
Restaurant is beautiful but food is underwhelming. Was expecting much more as they mention this is authentic Italian restaurant. - Cacio e pepe was our favorite - Chicken sandwich was good but chicken was a bit over done - Truffle fries - have had much better at other restaurants Service was pretty good as server was very friendly and made us feel welcomed
I walked in to this restaurant at my hotel, as my dinner plans had fallen through. I was seated right away with no reservation as a solo diner. The bread at the bread service (free) was delicious! I ordered the cacio e pepe and asked them to go lighter on the pepper so that I could pepper to taste, and it came out exactly as I requested. It was surprisingly expensive to add a tiny piece of chicken ($12) to the pasta dish ($25). It tasted fine. I was not offered the amuse bouche or complimentary sweet treat at the end that others mention in their reviews—perhaps they do not do this for solo diners. That was a little disappointing. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. Food service is purposefully paced slowly, but if you want a quicker pace you only need to ask and they will definitely try their best to honor your time. The restaurant itself was lovely, if a little on the dark side. This particular Ritz (in which the restaurant is located) is a very family friendly resort, so you could get seated next to loud unruly children. I was originally seated next to a family with a toddler shrieking Alicia Keys’ Girl On Fire (with only bemused laughter from both of her parents) and another child running around the neighboring tables. I discreetly requested a quieter table and the staff happily obliged.
Great brunch experience. Good food and lovely company! When we got our credit card bill I realized I had been overcharged $37.99. Wonder if it is a mistake or a pattern? I have the copy of the credit card receipt with the sub-total and the tip amount. I am in the process of disputing the overcharge.
Went her for the Brunch for Loves event this past Saturday and had a very nice experience. The options that were available were all very good. We started with the seafood options, which included snow crab claws, poke, shrimp cocktail, mussels, oysters, smoked salmon and a couple of different kinds of sushi. All were very nicely presented and tasted delicious. There was also a make your own ramen bar, a charcuterie section, a salad bar and a hot entree section which also included someone to make fresh omelettes or egg scrambles. There was a also a VERY nice dessert room that included a number of very nice desserts ranging from bread pudding to freshly made donuts. Overall, the food was very good and well prepared. The brunch all came with two mimosa's which was also a nice touch. Our only complaint was that the restaurant was rather full that day and at times the food stations got very crowded as there is not a lot of room, especially in the seafood/dessert room. Our waiter was also very slow to come over and greet us after we sat down. It took him about 10 minutes just to bring water and ask of we would like anything to drink which we felt was excessive. Overall, I would recommend Law Restaurant for a nice brunch out with very good food in a nice setting.
Knife Italian has an amazing ambience and splendid look and feel. It feels luxurious and stylish in so many ways. Plus with the views of the courtyard and pool, the dining ambience can’t be more perfect for this area. I rated 4 because there were a few times that some of the drinks we ordered from the menu wasn’t available or was told the drink was too hard to make for the waitress or the bar tender isn’t available. I was quite surprised to hear that. However our waitress did her best efforts to bring 1 of the drinks we ordered , but still the bottle that was used to infuse the drink Swept Away, was leaking. Not quite a presentation standard one would expect here.
Bueno
The ambiance at Knife Italian is amazing, with couches and a lounge area that create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. I came for dinner with my family and ordered a ton of appetizers, which were actually good. The bread and the cool salmon chip were highlights, and the margherita pizza, though simple, was enjoyable. For the entree, I had the spaghetti, and as basic as it is, I really liked it a lot. However, the pizza was burned badly, so overall, dinner would get four stars. The reason I'm giving Knife Italian three stars is because of my morning experience, which was absolutely horrible. My parents and I came for the breakfast buffet, which we heard is some of the best in the city. They had croissants, an omelette bar, and everything you'd expect. I got an omelette, some eggs, croissants, and bagels--typical breakfast buffet indulgence. Despite the good service and appealing setup, the eggs were horrible. So horrible, in fact, that they even out this review to three stars. After eating the eggs, I became really sick, and I'm still sick while writing this review. Overall, combining my dinner and breakfast experiences, I give Knife Italian three stars.
I was really excited about eating here during a weekend getaway to watch a Morgan Wallen concert. I ordered the 240 day dry aged ribeye and was not personally impressed. The following morning we had the oatmeal and to be honest I'm not sure how you can mess oatmeal up but they did. Overall it was not for me.
Was really looking forward to this dinner—being in the newly acquired Ritz. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming and very overpriced. You would think being in a 5 star hotel that it would be a fine dining experience, it’s more of a casual “trying to be trendy” steakhouse. They really push their dry-aged steaks that are way overpriced and not as good as you would hope. The Italian dishes are definitely better, and IF we go back we’ll stay far away from the steaks, which is unfortunate.
I don't review often, but I wanted to post this hoping management can make changes. We frequent Law for Brunch, but since the change away from the Four Season's name, the following are my observations (2/5/23): 1) The spread is not as lavish (most likely due to budget) 2) On this day, they only have egg white fritata for the egg dish. When I asked for scrambled eggs, I was told that this is an a la carte. Scrambled eggs used to be a standard staple. 3) The sushi station. There were no containers for the soy sauce. When asked, I was told that these are not available. Note that we were there when brunch just started. So I had to put the soy sauce on the dinner plate and tried not to have it go to other dishes. A a ramekin would do, if the plastic containers affects budget. 4) Dessert station had not serving utensils. I had to grab a cheesecake by hand and wash my hands. At least have it on small dessert plates? Part of food safety, I would think, as no one knows if someone else tried to grab it... I do hope it gets better again, as my wife and I, like to periodically go for brunch.
I arrived there in such a happy festive mood until I was met with Victoria who told us they are not open yet at 5:00pm and to wait outside. That put a damper on my evening especially when you’re spending a good amount of money to eat there.
Style and stellar service can't make up for underwhelming cuisine at Knife Italian Steak. While the attentive, friendly staff creates an upscale atmosphere, the astronomical prices ($670 for five people) set expectations that the kitchen fails to meet. The $58 lobster ravioli, like other dishes, looks Instagram-worthy but lacks the depth of flavor one expects at this price point. The fried gnocchi preparation puzzles, while cocktails ranging from $25-55 further inflate the bill without justifying their premium pricing. Credit where it's due: the service team delivers impeccably. However, while Knife Italian Steak nails the aesthetics and hospitality, your considerable budget would be better spent elsewhere - at these prices, the food should be memorable for more than just its cost.
We really enjoyed the ambience and the service. We walked in with high expectations given the fact this is a Ritz restaurant. Our first impression of the place was great, very elegant, and excellent service. Mi wife’s Cosmo was very well made. My cocktail was a take on the classic Negroni, however it disappointed as it was extremely sweet. We had oysters and a burrata for appetizers. Oysters were really nice. The burrata salad lacked olive oil and tomatoes were very bland. For main course, pastas. Both were meh… my wife’s lobster agnolotti were barely warm. Pannacotta tasted like cinnamon oatmeal, instead of a milky dessert. It was very well presented though. We’ve been to Italy many times and understand that replicating such flavors with American ingredients is hard, but we were expecting much more for a Ritz hotel restaurant, definitely not worth the price tag.
Honestly I have been to Knife in Dallas and I love it but this place and the food left me wanting. I ordered the red fish and potatoes, the potatoes came out cold and not fully mashed and the fish was extremely fishy. My friend had the cauliflower and risotto and said it wasn’t great either. Maybe for a drink but the food was extremely disappointing especially for the cost.
Disappointing Dining Experience at The Knife Italian, Ritz Carlton. My recent visit to The Knife Italian at the Ritz Carlton left much to be desired. As someone who appreciates fine dining, I had high expectations for this renowned establishment, but unfortunately, it fell short in several aspects.Firstly, while the menu options were adequate, they failed to impress in terms of both flavor and value. Having sampled numerous Italian cuisines, I found The Knife Italian's offerings to be lackluster compared to other establishments, particularly considering the price point. The espresso martini, touted as a signature drink, was a major letdown. Its preparation lacked finesse, resulting in a lackluster and uninspiring cocktail that failed to deliver on its promise of bold flavors and sophistication. Moreover, the 45-day aged bistec, a dish one would expect to be a highlight, was surprisingly bland. Despite its aging process, the steak lacked depth of flavor and succulence, requiring the accompaniment of the Italian sauce to salvage any semblance of taste. In conclusion, while The Knife Italian at the Ritz Carlton offers an upscale ambiance and attentive service, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. With subpar food and disappointing cocktails, the establishment failed to justify its high prices. Regrettably, based on this experience, I do not foresee returning in the future.
Dinner: The food is very pricey and poor. Fishy fish, cold steak (and not the quality the price would dictate), overly sauced pastas. Don’t waste your time coming here for dinner. If you’re a hotel guest, the breakfast is fine.
The Ritz Carlton is known for exceptional service, the reservation process and experice for knife does not meet this standard. I called to make a reservation for a party of 10 and for the first time ever, I was told a manager would have to call me back. In a modern age, who has the manager call back, especially at a restaurant of this caliber? A young lady called me back with the purpose of trying to upsell to a private room with a $3000 minimum. I asked if she could please email the details instead of calling because we already played phone tag twice. We exchanged another email where I politely requested a simple party of 10 in the main dining area. However, by this time the original dining time requested was no longer available because of the back-and-forth emails and calls, a two day delay. I rated the food excellent because I dined two weeks prior and the food and dining room service were exceptional. The restaurant should simply accept reservations without phone calls, this creates friction with guests, wastes time and fails to meet the Ritz Carlton standard.
From the salad to the 90 day aged steak we were highly disappointed. The steak was way too charred and not seasoned at all. The pasta was good.
For a Ritz restaurant, I am not sure how long the concept will be around. Food service was incredibly slow, it took an hour for appetizers, and the food was just underwhelming. For an Italian restaurant the pastas were inedible. We paid our tab and unfortunately we won’t be going back.
The atmosphere is great, the appetizers were good but the steak was burnt (ordered medium) and the service is matching a 2-star establishment, which isn’t bad, but unexpected given this location.
Way more style than substance. Food was bland and not authentic. Was expecting the quality of Fearings in the Ritz Carlton uptown and got the quality of Olive Garden in Irving. The prices were comparable to Fearing's, the food and service were not. Do better Mr. Tesar or no Michelin stars for you!
Environment is great. Service is extremely slow and almost non existent. Food is overpriced and bland. Lunch took over two hours for a 6 oz steak, asparagus, and salad.
Used to be amazing, came quite a few times. Disappointed by the Decline Knife used to be one of our favorite spots, but this last visit was a huge letdown. They’ve completely changed the menu—and not for the better. We had two separate issues with our meal, and not once did a manager come over or offer a formal apology. No comped dessert, no effort to make it right. To top it off, they used to validate parking but now charge for it. For a restaurant that built its name on quality and service, this was a major disappointment. Not sure we’ll be back.
Perfecto
I made reservations for a birthday dinner (12/28/25) at Knife Italian Steak (KIS) for my bestie. The restaurant is very dark except in the inner circle and top level. We asked to be moved so we could see better. The ambiance is unique with splashes of color and art that intrigue. Our server Crystal was attentive, informative and personable; unfortunately, that didn't make the food any better. The only thing on the menu that tasted good was the bread. I know this restaurant is known for steaks, but they had quite a bit of seafood so I thought it would be a good choice. I was so wrong. The prawns were over salted and I couldn't force myself to finish them. My lobster raviolis were so-so. The dough was grainy and lacked any flavor other than butter. Also the lobster was undercooked. How do I know, beyond it wasnt the right color, it was slimy and Ive watched enough Gordon Ramsey to know when something is "RAW"! The Caesar was so acidic and the anchovy flavor was the only flavor besides the romano--too much of all the wrong ingredients AND no salt, yuck. Also it was deconstructed so I had to cut the crouton, the wedge, mix in the dressing-- too much work for no real reward. On to my friends food, she had the Parmesan potato for an appetizer, it had a bland flavorless parmesan sauce, the potato was greasy and it was under salted. The presentation was nice. She also had the Caccio de Pepe with chicken. The chicken was dry. So dry in fact that when my friend tried to cut it her entire plate came off the table from the sheer force needed to get the knife through the chicken. So needless to say when they asked if we wanted dessert, we declined. We were ready to go. They did take off the prawns, but the reality is, it was not a good experience on such a special day. The worst part is we decided to go to the Club Lounge in the Ritz for a dessert and drink. Within 40 minutes after my friend had finished her food at KIS, she was nauseous. She vomited up her entire pasta dish. So there was no dessert or drinks to be had to celebrate her. I feel awful because I chose KIS. I would not only not recommend this restaurant, but I wish I could go back in time and never consider it for my friend's birthday. Such a huge disappointment!
Was looking forward to a leisurely birthday brunch with my friends. This was my first experience at the Four Seasons Irving as I am new to the area. Unfortunately the brunch is not what's being advertised on their website. There are NO crab claws, no complimentary mimosas. I brought this up to the restaurant manager who said that "our party will be taken care of". We did get 3 complimentary drinks.... The food is not up to Four Seasons standards, and I have been to a few properties around the world. The service is mediocre. I don't expect do be checked on every 5 minutes, but just a plain "how's everything " would go a long away. It would take a full page to describe the menu in details, but to sum this up - don't expect much and you will not be disappointed.
This was our third visit to the Law Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel in Irving, Tx. Thanksgiving Disappointment is an understatement. Brunch here prior to the pandemic was a wonderful experience. This year wasn’t good. Food was tasteless and our server paid little to no attention to us. Someone else had to take away our used dishes - at our request. A $44. Service charge was added to the bill that I’d never noticed before, probably because I’d been happy with the visit. I’ve never been treated this way here in the past and it was profoundly disappointing. Won’t be returning and won’t recommend to anyone.
What a disappointment. Basically paid $300 to have half a soggy omelet and my son 5 pieces of bacon. The steak was rare only, we eat well done meat. The crepes were dry due to not being made fresh to order. So simply had half a soggy omelet. Did not even have chocolate ice cream for my son, so 5 pieces of bacon with bread is all he had. Trying to get drinks from servers was almost impossible! Worst part is I had phoned twice and asked them if we would be disappointed in the Christmas buffet as we really wanted a nice brunch. They said no we would love it.Well we were definitely disappointed and definitely not worth the $300 it cost us! We could have made better omelettes at home that would not have cost us $300.
My friend and I had dinner on Wednesday August 30th, 2023. Place is nice, on site attention great (post service not so much). We opted for vegetarian options. The server and manager has informed us that new dishes were available and that the launching date will be on September 1st, however those items were already on the menue and actually it was the recommendation made. I had a dish from the regular vegetarian menu and my friend followed the recommendation and ordered a dish from the new menu. She started feeling sick the same day and after even going to ER she is still today having the symptoms of the food poisoning. The next day of the dinner she called to the restaurant to inform and request the related meal batch was disposed of to prevent more people to get sick. She was told that they'll call her back, but no further calls, attentions, feedback nor contact has been made. Mistakes can happen but they way you react to them is what makes the difference.
Our waiter was very good and the atmosphere was very good. Unfortunately , the food was mediocre at best. Where most risotto contains a creamy base with butter herbs and Parmesan, this mushroom risotto was hard and crunchy - not risotto at all- more resembling overcooked rice with mushrooms. The steak was the worlds smallest 6 oz steak - more like 4 ounces, and the lobster scampi was not at all a scampi and certainly was not a 1.5 pound lobster( which is still small for $55 dollars). There were shells all throughout the lobster in more than one persons dish and it was covered in an Alfredo sauce. To say the least, it was a very disappointing meal. We were told they are trying to revamp the entire restaurant and improve the quality, so maybe it will get better.
Had breakfast- service was slow. No water refills no coffee refills. Waiter never came back to table once ordering food. The food what a joke got the egg benedict and one egg… one egg for both they put the yoke on one and the eggwhites on the other… $26 dollars for 1 egg. This place was a total disappointment.
I am a member of The Nelson and so I want to love this place, but I just can’t. The cocktails and atmosphere are wonderful but the food is just not even “good” level anymore. Service often seems green. When it first opened, the veal marsala dish was phenomenal. Now, not only has the menu changed, but the execution is lacking. A few months ago, the parpadelle bolognese was tasty and now in the past couple of months it is not. They also altered the once-delish parmesan potatoes side. We’ve probably been 3x in the past 3 months, but I think we have hit our breaking point. I hope they are able to turn it around! And if you make improvements, please let us Nelson members know. Until then, I sadly have no plans to return.
Mediocre at best. Overpriced with a menu that left much to be desired. Food was bland, under and over cooked, and needed more salt than was appropriate. When the best part of the meal is the bread basket, you've got problems. This installment of the Knife series is relying on a brand name that this location is tarnishing.
Extremely unprofessional. Called early Thursday morning for a reservation. Call wasn’t picked up for the longest time and when it was , I had to talk to a customer service rep. She took my info and said “someone from Knife will reach out to you today to make a reservation as I’m taking your info just to let them know, this isn’t a confirmation”. So then I waited. The reservation was at 6 pm Thursday, never heard from them. I’m writing this on a Friday morning. It was for a birthday dinner & we would have loved to go here as it was so close to where we live.
This is the only bad experience I’ve ever had at the Ritz, but by far the worst. Our waitress, Kristen was the most unfriendly waitress I’ve ever had in my life. We were seated in an awkward table when got there and everyone was cold so we asked for a different table. She showed back up and said sorry, we’re full and handed out blankets. We then watched 3 tables around us stay empty the entire time and walked past 10 empty tables on the way out. She offered no advice on what we could order for accommodating gluten free. The Caesar salad after cutting it up was a legitimate 5 bites. It was an absolute joke. My wife’s 6oz filet was maybe 3 oz as the one next to her was easily double the size and it was the most overcooked piece of meat we’ve ever had. The sides were on par with Outback, and we never once were asked what we thought of the food. I left my comments with the manager after the fact, but overall, was the worst way for us to spend our anniversary and the worst meal we’ve had in 16 years of celebrating. We love the Ritz and this property, but this restaurant experience was awful.
The food was terrible. I had the risotto and it was crunchy and flavorless. Risotto is a delicate balance while cooking to get the right texture and doneness, and at these prices it should be correct. My partner's meal was 6 prawns and a tiny bit of pasta. Hardly any food also with zero flavor. The free bread was amazing, and so was the appetizer but save your money and eat somewhere else. On top of the terrible food, our server acted like we were a burden to wait on after we didn't order alcohol. I always tip 25%+ to make up for this but she didn't come back to our table once after the food was delivered and I had to ask someone else for the check.
My wife and I brought another couple here for a birthday celebration. Considering the Ritz Carlton brand, we were expecting an elevated "fine" dining experience...but the evening fell short in just about every aspect. Our waitress greeted the table by asking, "Who is Kristine?" - followed by a "Happy Birthday" delivered with the same energy as your doctor telling you "It's cancer." I can't imagine that the beverage manager has ever been in a high-end bar, because the drink options were basic and unappealing (not to mention almost $20 each). Our drinks were delivered after a 30-minute wait (the restaurant was empty save for us and two other tables) and our server seemed like her family was being held at gunpoint behind the kitchen door - curt, almost rude, and at times condescending. It always felt like we were interrupting something else she was doing. We were provided two "complimentary" appetizers, but as we didn't order them (and they didn't ask) the dishes were bizarre and unseasoned. Especially the artichoke dip, which was provided in a bowl with a spoon...I guess we were supposed to eat it by itself?! It felt like we had to fight the whole evening to receive even mediocre service. Considering we spent close to $600 on the meal, the whole situation seemed pretty outrageous. After trying to bring this to management's attention, they didn't seem to care - this place doesn't want your business, so don't give it to them. STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!
