The Sutter Restaurant

This is our go to place to eat when we travel to Sutter Creek for a nice day antiquing. Great food and service! The hamburger meat is top quality without being greasy. I enjoyed their onion rings too. I saved half for our dogs, which they loved! They have lots of different hamburgers and other foods. Generously portions and excellent and friendly service!

Came to celebrate a birthday with a party of 8 on a Saturday evening. We made reservations ahead of time, which was good as I don't recall any empty tables. We got squished onto two tables put together so no elbow room. Plus two people were seated at the split so their plates wobbled a bit. The interior was a bit loud and made it challenging to hear others from our party across the table. Food was good, portions were large. We started with a couple of pretzels which were good. I had the Asiago Gnocchi for dinner which was delicious. Drinks were good. I recommend the Spiked Lavender Lemonade. Service was spot on even though they were busy. Andrew was great. They did have a kids menu which included chicken strips and fries and a couple of juice selections. There's a small parking lot behind the building, but we were able to grab the last available street spot. The restaurant appeared ADA accessible, even though some of the surrounding buildings were not.

What a wonderful start to our Mother's Day fun! Tiffany was fantastic - such a great smile, incredibly helpful, and so professional. Thank you, Sutter Team, for giving us the opportunity to try you again!

We had an amazing lunch at Hotel Sutter - our server Andrew was awesome, super friendly and appeared at our table just when we needed him, every time! Salmon burger was to die for and great cocktails.

Excellent service, great lunch. Our waiter gave us samples of two alcohol slushies to taste before ordering one. I would definitely come back when in town and recommend trying the resturant.

Awesome bar! Whe whiskey selection here is amazing. Fun intimate vibe in the basement of the hotel. Was here for a wedding reception and the bar is large enough to occupy everyone. Service was friendly and fast. One of the coolest bars in the area.

Great ambiance with delicious food. Brussels, house wine, and crème brûlée cheesecake were fantastic. Our server Scott was on point all night too!

Great staff. Attentive and accommodating. The smokey chicken nachos were really good. Smash burger just ok. The BLT was good, and the salads are large and fresh, tommitillo dressing delicious.

Friendly people. Great vibe. We didn't have a reservation so the 30 minute wait turned into 2.25 hours, must be Covid staffing. Ended up ordering take out and ate in downstairs lounge. The lounge had a whiskey bar, beer, wine and cocktails and was very chill, but service was slow. I would give it another try with a reservation.

We reserved based on the other comments. I will be totally honest. The steak was excellent. I had the special of the day which was pasta with prawns and garlic bread. It was a tiny portion and had good flavor but bread was 2 half pieces of burnt toast. and dry not yummy garlic bread. I asked a friend who lives here and she laughed because a while back they too got burnt toast. I finally asked for a piece of bread not toasted and the waitress brought a piece of not quite frozen but ice cold bread.

Overpriced and small portions. The meats for salads are not cooked to order, but are rather deli meats.

We had the worst service I ever had in my life. Took over an hour to get our food. How can it take that long to make some burgers and a salad?? When we finally got our food it was the worst, tasteless burger I ever had. We asked for salt and pepper— that never came . Then I told everyone: “I bet the bill will come fast though” and guess what—it was even faster than light speed. It was almost like they were waiting around the corner with the bill as soon as we asked for it. It was $91 for four lousy burgers and sodas. Avoid this place like the plague. Don’t get robbed like we did. What a horrible experience for my birthday. I will never set foot in this horrible establishment ever again.
