I’m from Florida so what do I know about BBQ, but I thought Lum’s was pretty dang good! I got the ribs and the brisket, both of which were some of the best I’ve had! For my sides I got the mac and cheese and corn, and I thought they were great too. I wanted some Texas barbecue and I got everything I was looking for in Lum’s!
It is just good Texas Barbecue, tastes almost as good as my family's cooking. I have had everything on the menu, and nothing will disappoint, that is unless you don't like good cooking, the one complaint I have is there's quite a bit of fat on the brisket, but the brisket tastes good, and you can cut the fat off.
What started years ago as a convenience store that also sold BBQ has blossomed into a full-fledged destination BBQ joint. While I personally miss the sleepy days of a quiet meal in this hidden gem, I appreciate that Lum’s has achieved the recognition it deserves. After not having been for a couple years, my recent visit had outstanding BBQ and an experience worthy of a Texas Monthly listed joint. They’ve really stepped up their game on their longstanding sides. The meat has always been terrific. Get the cucumber salad and spicy spaghetti for something unique. The ribs and brisket were amazing, the moist brisket just about perfection. A generous two meat plate at $18. This is a must visit if you like Texas BBQ and you’re within 50 miles.
5 stars!! Awesome TX BBQ. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Plenty of food for the price. Brisket was tender, sausage was smoked perfectly. Sides were very good, as well as the pie. If your a trucker sitting at a truck stop down the street, it’s definitely worth the 1/2 mile walk (west side of the bridge over the Llano River has a sidewalk). Grabbed some food to go.
If you want Texas barbecue this is the place. Oh my goodness was it delicious. The two young men working the counter when I got there where the as friendly as could be even though it was getting close to closing time. I don't remember their names but tell them I said thank you for your hospitality.
Can't get enough of this BBQ have been here 4 times and enjoyed each time very much.... This last time not so much but it was decent. I think brisket was just a little over cooked ... But ribs where on point and and the side ( cream corn and potato salad) always good. You have to try this place you'll be back again after the first time. * To the grill master keep up the good work mighty fine BBQ'n.
04/04/22 just stopping in on our way through town. Very friendly staff. Especially the pickle girl 😊 Got a 2 meat plate and the chopped pork and jalapeño sausage was very good. For my sides I got the macaroni salad. It was good but sweet. I know it sounds odd but get the spicy spaghetti. So good.
Smelled amazing upon entry, was trying to figure how to order and what we wanted one staff seemed annoyed at our decision speed. But his coworker stepped up and helped us out.over all the food was so good, only bad part was they ran out of Mac and cheese but it was because it was so delicious! Great outdoor seating
I was looking for some authentic Texas barbecue and this place was so highly rated that I had to stop. It was pretty perfect too. It was a great selection of pulled pork and brisket and ribs and other staples of any barbecue establishment. It tasted great and had good smoky flavor. You could taste the mesquite wood that they use. For the side dishes the beans and potato salad were really good. They had some strange spicy spaghetti that I was not a fan of at all. I enjoyed the sweet tea so much I went back three times. We had the pleasure of eating outside on an open patio because we brought our dog since we were traveling through our family trip and she was with us. So it's nice that they had an open patio area where she was welcome. Because it's Texas and late spring nobody else was out there since the humidity must have been over 50%. So they keep us a nice free rein area for the dog while we enjoyed some delicious barbecue and had a good scene. The line to order your food went all the way to the door and took about 20 plus minutes to put in your order. But it was worth it. The inner seating lobby was full. Pandemic facts: there aren't too many people wearing masks in there and it didn't seem like any of the staff had on masks. This review is after the CDC release their guidance that fully vaccinated people don't need to wear masks indoors or outdoors though. On the interior it was pretty hard to social distance. But overall people didn't really seem to care and it seem like a good environment.
Juicy and smoky brisket that pulls apart with your fingers. Cool interior finish out. Friendly staff. Has custom disc golf discs. Worth the visit!
Of course the food was amazing - what else would you expect from Lum’s? But the real prize was the birth of our dear friend Smiley Guy. My wife and I inserted a quarter or two in one of those little machines, and out came a plastic yellow ball with a smiley face on it, gently nestled inside a container with a red top. Smiley Guy has been a major player in our lives ever since, and he’ll outlive us all in his plastic glory. And you know what… I can live with that.
By far one of my favorite places. They were off today, Ribs were dry and kinda bleh. Same with the brisket. The pork loin was excellent as usual. Usually, this place knocks it out of the park, which is why I drive two hours to eat here at least twice a year. I’m rating it a 5 this time because it usually is, just not today.
I personally feel like this is the best BBQ I have ever had. It was very well made. At first, I was a little shocked at the price until I saw the portions. Amazing!! Great taste fair pricing. Must stop if you are anywhere near Junction. But if you are not nearby, it is definitely worth the drive!
I wish there was an option for 10 stars. The folks at Lums are the nicest people ever. We were traveling with a high school band and I called to tweak the order and arrangements multiple times and they were 100% accommodating every time. The food was most delicious. The band will definitely be going there again next time we have a stop in Junction and it is going on my personal list when I travel with family.
Delicious brisket and turkey, the sides were great too, and they give generous helpings. All the fixins! This place is lovely
Food was really good. My brisket was a little dry but hubby's was on point. Ribs were excellent as well as the side dishes.Would definitely eat here again.
Heading through West Texas and stopped in Junction because I had heard of Lum's from several people. Lum's did not disappoint. It's all about the brisket when I'm in Texas and this brisket was fantastic. Super tender and the perfect amount of smoke (at least for me). It's counter service but the lady who helped was very welcoming and answered all my questions. It wasn't super busy but there are plenty of tables which are spaced apart nicely. Really happy we made the stop and I look forward to coming back on my return trip.
Lums = YUMS. Wow, what a treat. Traveling through in our RV we couldn’t pass up this place. I called right at opening and the lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and thorough with my large order. Everything was correct. I love that! The plates were delicious and pulled pork sandwiches were amazing. The cream style corn was incredible. We tried 4 different slices of pie. Chocolate, lemon, coconut and pecan and they were fresh and flavorful. Totally impressed with the quality of everything. This place is a must stop. Thank you for a great lunch and plenty leftover for dinner!
Lum’s did not disappoint besides they were out of Mac & Cheese by 5pm when we arrived. They say it is because it’s so delish. Well we ordered a three meat plate with pinto beans with potato salad and a chopped beef sandwich with jalapeño chips. It was so good the meat was lean and cooked to perfection. The bbq sauce was really good as well not to sweet or to bland. Customer service was good and they greated us upon arrival and leaving. Glad we stopped in as it was along the way on our road trip definitely hope to make it back again one day. Keep up the good food your serving Lum’s our bellies are happy 😊
Wow, this place was amazing. Everyone in our group loved their food. We tried the brisket, turkey and jalapeño cheese sausage. All the sides were delicious.
Why did I not stop here before? I’ve been missing out on some Good BBQ, until I stopped in last Thursday. The brisket was packed with flavor, had a nice bark on it with just enough crust. Jalapeño Cheese Sausage packs a mean punch straight to your tastebuds!! I loved the cream corn and green beans. I got so much meat on this two meat plate that I couldn’t finish it in one sitting. My only wish, I had more room in my stomach to try the banana pudding. Definitely going to make this a regular stop on my way home. Stop here, you won’t be disappointed, unless of course they are sold out!! That happen to me on my second visit! 😞 But I’ll get there earlier next time.
Great brisket with dark bark and tender meat but still a good pull. Ribs are awesome. This place always delivers the best hill country bbq
We don't stop for BBQ many places, but Lums is always on our stop list. Good brisket, ribs and smoked turkey. Good job Lums.
This place hit the spot. Years ago I had tried Cooper's on the side of the highway and was never impressed. Glad I looked this place up and went on the other side of the highway. The quality was top-notch and the staff were helpful. I felt like you could tell they enjoyed their work. I had a sliced brisket sandwich, sausage link, potato salad and an iced tea. Couldn't have asked for a better bbq lunch. Lum's was YUMS! I'll definitely return.
I travel for work so I stopped in here for a bite to eat and head out and I was blown away by the amazing shop beef sandwich that I had loved the sweet tea great place for a family to get together and hang out I highly recommend this place for a cold beer night out with friends lots of cool stuff to check out inside spacious back patio it is definitely a must stop and see place
We are full time retired RV travelers. In our adventures from town to town, we like visiting local restaurants, pubs, and shops. During our stay in Junction, Texas, we decided to have lunch at Lum's BBQ. They have both inside and outside seating - your preference. And what a wonderful place it is! We shared a two-meat meal with two sides - brisket, pork loin, potato salad, and mac and cheese. My husband grabbed a Yuengling and I decided on a Dublin ginger ale. And we topped off the meats with their delicious BBQ sauce. Everything was amazing including fantastic, attentive service. Thank you, Lum's BBQ, for an excellent meal and experience!
Flew into junction with a friend from Germany JUST to eat here and have some great Texas BBQ!! Meats seasoned to perfection, tender, so juicy and so delicious. The plates are reasonably priced and can never go wrong with brisket and sausage. The customer service was excellent and very helpful to my friend being there for the first time. Can’t wait to visit again.
Great BBQ place for anyone in or traveling thru Junction, TX. Very nice building with line style serving. Order meat and then sides. Very clean place with friendly staff. BBQ is good with a great price and large portions served up. We had brisket, sausage and chicken. All very well cooked and seasoned.
Great food and large portions. I will say that if you want the smoked turkey or pork loin you need to get there early in the day. We missed out on those but the ribs, sausage, brisket, and pulled pork were delicious! Sides of Pinto beans, coleslaw, cucumber salad and potato salad were also very good. We visited on Friday evening about 6pm and the place was very busy although alot of people ordered to go. There was ample seating for I would estimate at least 75 people though.
Ate here for supper Saturday night 9/3/22. Easy to find on the Main Street just half a mile south of I-10. Level parking is easy for people with disabilities. Outdoor dining space available with things for kids to do. Inside, the restaurant was immaculately clean as were the bathrooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Merchandise with store branding was available to purchase as a souvenir. Food was delicious and the dining room was large and spacious. Don’t miss this gem!
The road between El Paso and San Antonio isn't flush with good restaurants. Most people recommend just eating a big breakfast. This place is legitimately a place to go out of your way for. Great mesquite smoked Q.
Spot on TEXAS BBQ with real TEXAS HOSPITALITY!! Ribs and Brisket are cooked with just the right amount of smoke and moisture (no sauce needed), both the original and jalapeño cheddar sausages are seasoned and cooked perfectly. Love the seasoning on the pinto beans and the green beans. Nothing here is bland. Well done people. (Scooter Guy).
This place is SO good. They have a dog friendly patio, with great tables and lots of shade. You go inside to order, we had to wait for about an hour (eclipse travel I think)..... OH MAN it was worth it. We got 2 three meat plates, they were 25 bucks each and they gave us so much food they had to tape the box shut. It was all SO good, we had pork ribs, brisket, sausage and chicken.
Lum’s is a BBQ mecca in Junction, Texas I have been hearing about for a long time, and am finally passing through and able to give it a try. First pass everything is excellent! I wound getting a 2 meat plate with lean brisket, regular sausage and sides of pinto beans and potato salad. I HAD to get a side of banana pudding (made fresh) of course!! 2 Meat Plate 9/10 - the lean brisket was tender, well seasoned and had a great bark with a good smoke ring! Was very tasty, and probably one of the best briskets I’ve had in a long time. The sausage was very good as well. The Sides 8/10 - the pinto beans were not too salty, but had a peculiar flavor I couldn’t pin down. Good though, so that’s all that matters. The potato salad has a base of both mayo and mustard, and was creamy with a great flavor profile. The Service 9/10 - the staff was very friendly and helpful. The Atmosphere 8/10 - was traditional Texas BBQ joint, which is friendly, warm and makes you feel at home. Definitely a MUST try if you are passing by or through Junction on IH-10. Btw - I got here at 11 am, by noon it was packed!
When in Texas ya' gotta get BBQ and a good example of that is Lum's. They smoke all their own meats and offer a good variety of sides. Since I wanted to try as many styles of meat as possible I got the three-item plate and split it with my co-conspirator in this adventure we call life. On the plate were ribs, pork tenderloin and brisket. I mean, if you don't get brisket what are you doing? All of these were perfectly prepared but the smoke flavor was different than I'm used to. That's not a bad thing at all, but apparently they just season with salt and pepper and smoke over mesquite. That's it. All the choices were really tender and quite delicious. I like that you go to a counter and get your plate fixed up and take it to your table. As for the plate, there are a lot of choices of sides and while I kept being tempted by the spicy spaghetti, I just got mashed potatoes and mac-and-cheese. My one thing I would like is if you could just get the meats and the sides by the measure (I'll take a half pound of brisket) rather than "plates." This would mean I could fix up my plate so I could try the widest variety of things. Hey, no complaints and if wishes were fishes I'd have an ocean. I am looking forward to returning to the area next year and getting another trifecta of Texas barbecue.
Really good to go order. The way they pack it is amazing! Nothing runs or spills!! (Update: an old Side note the plastic wear is too flimsy for BBQ but they have changed this!!) The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The ribs were a bit drier than normal but still didn’t disappoint. Not a huge fan of the brisket but love the sausage, turkey, chicken but most of all the ribs. Love their macaroni salad, green beans, Mac n cheese, potato salad and Cole slaw are delicious. We do not care for the cold spicy spaghetti… it’s always a hard pass for us!! The rest of the sides I can take or leave just not my favorites. My only true issue (only reason I would consider giving it 4 stars) is the bbq sauce. It’s just not good. Way to vinegary based. I think it actually detracts from the meat. Love the refillable cups! Wish they’d bring back the funny sayings on their sign!!
I stopped at the Pilot truck stop and almost made the mistake of eating at one of the places across the street. Searching for something better, I found Lum’s was only about a half mile or so away, and the reviews were top notch. I decided to leave my rig at the truck stop and walk a leisurely 10 minutes for the pure deliciousness that Lum’s BBQ is serving up. It was worth the short walk. I ordered the double meat brisket sandwich and it beat any barbecue that I’ve ever eaten… hands down! I had to double fist the sandwich…it was full of meat…enough for my dinner all by itself! The brisket was tender with a hearty Smokey flavor, as evidenced by the smoke ring on the edges of the meat. If I ever pass through Junction, TX again, I will be obliged to stop back for more!
Food was good.brisket was really good as well. For the price though we could have went to a Rudy's which to me is equally as good. I'm thinking the guy at register might have overcharged me?but we paid since we weren't from there and didn't want to argue. Brisket sandwich with cream corn .and 4 other small sides with one drink and one water was right at 39.00. they knew we were passing thru so think they got us. Guy at register didn't seem too friendly but could have just been my imagination. Who know. But we most likely wouldn't stop again when coming thru.
Lum's BBQ was such a pleasant experience. It was not at all loud inside and smelled of yummy food. We got a 2-meat plate with pork ribs and brisket along with sides of mac and cheese as well as sweet corn. Yum! Delicious! They packed our lunch to go along with bbq sauce and utensils and bread and napkins. They even put parchment paper on both the sides so the sauce didn't get on to the meat. And their banana pudding was very nice and not too sweet. There is extra hot bbq sauce available and napkins if you want more along with pickles, jalapenos, and onions. There was a nice seating area with people enjoying their meals. Lots of drink options too. They were very nice and helpful to me and very quick as well. Lum's BBQ was clean and pleasant. I highly recommend them for a very tasty meal. BTW it is a 4-minute drive from the Tesla Supercharger. Very convenient.
Wow, truly an amazing experience! I’ve had great brisket, but this is one of the best brisket I’ve had. Super juicy and meaty and the sausage was great too! They seem to run out a lot in the evening (we got here last night but they only had 2 sausage links left from everything they had), so definitely get here early before everything’s gone! You will not regret it. They even brought out a pup water bowl for my sister’s dog.
Great bbq. We stopped in on the drive from Houston to New Mexico. We were craving some barbeque, and this was really good. They have some unique side dishes too, like spicy spaghetti. Nine of the sides contain meat, so people can also make a veggie plate with things like green beans, pinto beans, salad, etc. We had turkey, which was very lean and ribs which were meaty. Sides were Mac and cheese, green beans and the spicy spaghetti.
Hubby and I just stoped at Lum’s on our travels back home. A long time ago Cooper’s was our go to in the Junction area. After reading a lot of “not great” reviews about Cooper’s we decided to give Lyn’s a try. I’m so glad we did! The brisket was tender and delicious and seasoned well. The sausage was tasty too. They gave us huge portions of food! Normally at a bbq place you don’t get that much and it’s super expensive. This place is very reasonably priced. And I almost forgot to mention the sauce!! So so good! I got the two meat plate. It comes with 2 sides. The mac and cheese was homemade and the potato salad was as good as mine😂. You can see in the pics how much food it was. My husband got a two meat sandwich with brisket and sausage. It also came with a side.
Excellent Hill Country Q just a few blocks south of the more notorious, but not nearly as tasty option on 10. Open and modern dining room, cafeteria style serving…see the meat you want. Great sides. Large drink selection. Friendly servers behind the counter, quick with answers or a joke. Brisket moist with nice bark, ribs just-right tender, beans with good cumin kick, coleslaw okay. All-round great grub and experience!
One of the 50 runners-up. in the 2021 Texas Monthly Magazine listing of The 50 Best BBQ Joints. In our judgment, it belongs in the top fifty, period. We had a terrific lunch, centered on a 3 meat platter (brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage, ribs), 2 side (spicy spaghetti, cucumber salad) plate, with an additional 6 ounce side of pinto beans. All 3 of the meats are very, very good, with the ribs among the very few that we have eaten in Texas that would hold their own in KC or Memphis. The pinto beans are exceptional, the other two sides very good. The cold spaghetti is indeed spicy, and the cucumber salad (mercifully) not drowning in vinegar. It was a welcome alternative to coleslaw as a palate cleansing bite moving between the various meats. Later, we went back for a banana pudding, which was not overly sweet, and a very light and tasty slice of coconut meringue pie. Either would make a decent finish to an excellent meal. We highly recommend that you visit this venerable Junction establishment.
I stopped in Junction, TX for a football game and needed a good place to eat — and I definitely found it at Lum’s BBQ! As soon as I walked in, the smoky aroma told me I made the right choice. The counter setup made ordering super easy since I could see all their delicious options right in front of me. If you’re just looking for a solid meal, grab a sandwich. But if you’re up for a personal challenge, go for a plate! I ordered the 2-meat plate with sliced brisket and jalapeño & cheese sausage, plus potato salad and mac n’ cheese. Let’s just say I almost met my match, but pride wouldn’t let me leave a single bite behind. They’ve got a nice outdoor patio, plenty of indoor seating, and even some cool merch for sale. Great food, great atmosphere — I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

if you’re ever in Junction, TX or passing through and you see @lumsbbq it is important you stop and go get a meal. The 2 meat plate was way bigger portions and a higher caliber of bbq than I have had in a long time. Was driving my grandparents and mom back to Menard from San Antonio and mom said she ate there in the 70’s!!!! There’s a reason it’s still there.
I had the pleasure of stopping by Lum’s BBQ, and I can honestly say this spot lives up to its legacy. The plate I ordered came stacked with ribs, sausage, mac and cheese, and potato salad—all served up with that no-frills, classic Texas presentation. The ribs had a fantastic bark and rich smoky flavor. While the beef was a bit on the dry side, I’m not necessarily counting that as a negative—it could very well be due to the specific cut or the style they’re aiming for. As any BBQ lover knows, there are a lot of variables in the smoking process, and I respect that. Now, let’s talk sides—the macaroni was absolutely delicious. Creamy, well-seasoned, and comfort-food perfect. The potato salad also hit the mark—balanced, flavorful, and a great complement to the meats. You can feel the tradition and pride in this place. Family-owned since 1976, and you can taste the experience. I’ll definitely be back.
We stopped at Lum’s BBQ in Junction, TX during our drive on I-10, and wow — this place is a gem. The brisket was out of this world, perfectly smoked and incredibly tender. The turkey was super moist, which is hard to find, and every side tasted fresh and homemade. The restaurant itself is spotless and well-kept — truly impeccable. The ambiance felt a little cold and not the warmest in terms of friendliness, but the food more than makes up for it. If you’re traveling toward Austin or San Antonio from West Texas, this is THE place to stop for real Texas BBQ. Absolutely worth the detour and every single bite!
Wow! Awesome BBQ!! I’ve been on a quest to find the best BBQ in Texas. This is the best so far or among the best! I had the tender brisket which really was so very tender and had so much flavor. If you are in the area or even if your aren’t, it’s worth the drive to give them a try. They also have great side dishes to go with their brisket.

The food was amazing! I had left overs that I ate for lunch the next day! They really pile it on for the money.
Jalapeño sausage and brisket were both excellent. Friendly staff. Would not hesitate to return for another meal.
Very good place for lunch. I had the chopped beef sandwich which was delicious. Servers were very friendly. Restaurant was clean and comfortable.

One of the best Barbeque spots we’ve visited. Yummy & tender brisket and ribs too. Cole slaw & Mac & cheese. We’re great. Wild West atmosphere
We stopped at this place on our way to float the Frio. Their bar-b-que was good. Three of us had the sliced brisket sandwich. It was good and moist. I also enjoyed their sauce. My husband had the sausage. It was kind of greasy. Four of us ate for around $45.00. The staff was very friendly. My youngest spilt his drink. They were so quick to clean it up with no grumbling. That was greatly appreciated from a tired mamma.
On a 17 day road trip...saw this BBQ so we stopped for dinner. Love the walk up counter... pick what you want... plated...served. I ordered the 3 meat plate...which comes with 2 sides. We got...brisket...pulled pork...ribs...slaw...Mac. The pulled pork is the winner in my book...very good. The Brisket/ribs were good... needed a bit more smoke/bark. IMO of course... Overall...good place
Wow! What a great find during the road trip. We just ate BBQ over in Austin at a VERY popular place and I put Lum's over it. Had to knock off just one star for flavor. My suggestion is their rub - the only reason I needed anything on the meat was for flavor, so adding some seasonings would be great. That said, it was 100% moist and a great cut. Their portions impressed me - I frequent BBQ places back in Oklahoma and the cuts/amount here were great for $15. Those green beans - whoowhee, they kick and the Mac is fantastic. 10/10 recommend food. Service could be a little more welcoming but they gave me my food so I can't complain. Went in two hours before closing, midweek, still all felt fresh and well made.
Overall, a good experience and I would recommend to friends and family. I had the three meat plate with brisket, ribs and cheese sausage. The ribs were the best part of the plate, 5 out of 5 stars, they tasted delicious! The brisket was a 3 1/2 to 4 stars out of five, it tasted a little bit like it had sat too long. The cheese sausage was also good, 4 out of 5 stars. The vibe is classic Texas barbecue joint.
First time here. My wife and I were traveling and stumbled upon this place on Google maps. I had a Chopped BBQ brisket sandwich with their spicy spaghetti and a tea. My wife had a one meat plate, smoked turkey with cucumber and potato salad. The sandwich was good, the smoked turkey was very good...moist and good flavor. We also liked the potato salad. The spicy spaghetti was WAY to spicy for me, and I like spicy food. Overall a good experience and the staff was friendly and the place was clean an well kept. I am sure we will be back next time we are in the area.
Solid roadside BBQ spot. Meats were cooked well but nothing was amazing. I prefer my BBQ to slap me in the face with flavor. Smokey hickory, tangy sauce. Ribs were the better than brisket and sausages but everything needed to be smothered in sauce. Met expectations because we were just driving through and needed a quick lunch. Dining room was spacious and very clean. Service was fast and the people were nice. Just wish the meat had more flavor
It's changed a bit over the years... Can't say they've ever been over friendly. But they serve you & food is Good just wwwaaayyy to much salt. Still worth trying if you enjoy bbq. Just need ya' loo…
If you are a fan of bbq, just bbq, and not the fancy fusion bbq that seems to get all the wrong attention then go to Lum's in Junction. We had lunch here while returning home from the Caverns o…
This was my second time here. I had the sliced brisket, and cucumber salad. Both were delicious. The brisket was tender and had a nice bark to it. \n\nMy spouse had the chopped beef sandwich and p…
If you happen to be passing through Junction, this is a great little spot for lunch. Brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage were both great and the potato salad is the crown jewel of the sides. Rea…
Brisket was flavorless. Ribs were...ok. Sausage is way too expensive for what it is. Cooper's would be a better stop. Thought we'd try it since someone recommended it, but won't be back.
Brisket was chewy and dry. Maybe a off day but I won't be back. expensive too. Not much ambience. Location is on the way from the interstate to the state park. No room for trailer parking.
Pretty decent BBQ, I would go back. The sides are ok. Clean place, friendly people. The ribs and brisket are good. Prices aren't to bed. We have been twice.

Good food friendly staff dog friendly. They were very understanding of my service dog and service was fantastic. I will definitely return when I come back.
We stopped here because they were dog friendly and they had pie! My husband loves BBQ, so that was the draw for him. We each got a $15 plate with one meat (brisket) and two sides. His sides were b…
Plates were fairly expensive. BBQ was smoked and taste was good. Very small sides on plate for cost of plates!
We really had high hopes for this BBQ restaurant. Though the turkey was moist, unfortunately, that and everything else we tried was so over-salted that we couldn’t enjoy the taste of the food itself.
We had an early dinner there on Friday, June 28. Cafeteria style food pick-up. The guys behind the counter were friendly enough. They were out of BBQ pork by the time we got there — like maybe 5:30. How does that happen so early in the evening? No buns available. Only plain white bread. They did have many sides to choose from. I wondered if they were home made or store bought. Picnic bench seating. The beer I had was great.
Not many dining options in the area, and this was an ok bbq joint for a quick meal. Ribs and briskets were dried, I would recommend the turkey from this place. As far as sides, we only liked the corn cream. They did not have Mac & Cheese that day so we got the spicy pasta, which is cold and way too spicy to bear. Cole slaw and cucumber salad were just like any other. The place is clean and can accommodate large parties.
It was good but wasn’t mind blowing food. I didn’t hate it. The creamed corn was my favorite thing. Chopped brisket and sausage was *decent*. I was surprised at how much grease there was though. I preferred salt lick in round rock to this. I didn’t understand what the fuss was about here. The service and atmosphere was great though. Couldn’t fault the staff. Super friendly. Clean premises, cute merchandise.
Drove a very long way and this is what we couldn’t wait for once we got into the city to stay the night. Website/door said closed at 9… we walked in at 7:45… no greeting, no smiles, no how can we help you. Just two guys staring at us with a look of “couldn’t care less you are here” husband and son ate because they were hungry, daughter and I opted to not eat…. They had NO sides left but spaghetti and it was cold.. they were out of pulled pork, limited ribs and just not a welcoming environment. They did say they were busy today… OK tell us that as we walk in or place a closed sign on door or discount what is left: very poor experience unfortunately :( won’t be back or recommend. ( We were excited as this was a stop on our Christmas vacation? They needed to plan better) as son was eating they were turning off lights, emptying tea spickets( so no refill drinks) sweeping other areas…. This was 8:00….
I have gone to lums twice. 2 weeks apart and each time they were out of their regular sides you would get at a BBQ place like potato salad or coleslaw or corn. Why would you have a business and not keep the most regular items in stock. Instead I got beans and spicy spaghetti??? What kind of BBQ place has spaghetti as a side. I'm not going back.
The ribs and mac & cheese were great. The turkey was decent. The sliced brisket was somewhat dry so I needed to add sauce. There was way too much black pepper on the green beans.
The turkey and the chicken leg quarters were really good. I had signs of the spicy spaghetti which turned out to be a cold side and was kind of a texture issue. Plus I asked about eggs and milk because I'm allergic and was told that it did not have either however there must have been some sort of cheese in it because I'm having a reaction to something. :-( the cucumber salad was pretty good although somebody left out the sugar that was supposed to be in it. Personally at home I use Stevia instead of sugar no point adding useless calories LOL
Great service and friendly staff. The place was clean and welcoming, and I really wanted to like it more. Unfortunately, the BBQ didn't hit the mark for us. The brisket was dry, the mac and cheese …
Ok. Beans were cold. Everything was just meh. \nNot impressed. If I was guessing I would say the owner worked down the street and then opened his own place. The ribs and bbq sauce are eerily identi…
Very clean and neat. Sliced brisket was very good. BBQ sauce a bit bland, could have been spiced up a bit. Cole slaw and potato salads were terrible. Pintos were good.
Not sure about the food since we didn’t get the chance to try it. We arrived on a Friday night before 9pm, but the establishment was already closed even though the posted hours state they close at 9pm. It would be helpful if the business updated their hours to avoid confusion.
I’ll give them one thing the meats were cooked well other than that total disappointment If this is a representation of Texas barbecue, I am sadly disappointed, macaroni and cheese is runny. Barbecue sauce is runny potato salad is overpowered by mustard. And the food is not seasoned very well at all. I had the brisket and the chicken both were underseasoned. Staff was nice though
Not good. But let me first say, I am not a native Texan. But I have eaten at plenty of other Texas BBQs. I ordered the one meat plate and got pulled pork. The pork looked like it had been sitting under a heating lamp for a while. And this was my bad that I didn’t ask first but WHY do you have the sauce on the pulled pork?! Every BBQ place I have ever eaten the pulled pork puts the sauce either on the side or at the table. And that leads me to the sauce. I understand about different regions and the bbq sauce they use. Their only sauce I saw is vinegar based and that is not what I like at all. I would have loved to try the pulled pork without sauce but took only 2 bites and couldn’t take the sauce. And you may get no sauce if you order by the pound or maybe request it? The Mac n cheese was fairly good but the pasta salad tasted like vinegar on pasta. Again I am not from that area so people like different things. But the much smaller town I am from has a bbq place that offers 3 different sauces with their bbq. I will say the place was very clean, spacious, service was decent and the people were flocking in there…mostly locals and that is I’m sure their biggest customers so something is working right for them. Just wasn’t the place for this tourist. Shout out to the lady at the register… was super nice and friendly.
Very disappointed with this place overall. They serve very big portions on a mediocre size plate. We paid full price for 2 1 meat plates and yet they only had ready 3 out 6 different sides (none that we really wanted). The spicy spaghetti side was COLD. They are so proud of their bbq sauce that they only serve one kind. The ribs and brisket were both good but not to rave about. The guy serving up sides acted like he would rather have be anywhere but there. The tables were clean but truly nothing special. Beer was $4.50 a bottle.
We stopped here while traveling and parked in a marked handicap space, as my fiancé is a disabled veteran who proudly served his country. We had the handicap placard clearly displayed on the visor. A worker from inside came out and confronted us, asking, “Are y’all handicapped? Why are you in a marked spot?” His tone and approach were rude and completely inappropriate. There is no excuse for speaking to customers that way, especially when we were fully within our rights to use the space. This behavior was unacceptable and deeply disrespectful — particularly toward someone who sacrificed for his country. We did not dine here.
Brisket was tough and not cut properly (not against the grain). It had good flavor but the slices we got were cut off the end and burnt. We also got some sausage but could but eat it either as it had a lot of pepper in it. That was a personal preference so nothing against them in that respect. We didn't get anything else because we were going to make sandwiches with the brisket hoping it would be tender. We will NOT be back.
