This place has been here since I was a kid and still has the best food in Kaufman and best service around. The sweetest people that I know!
Got here 20 minutes before close so options were limited. Ended up getting the baked chicken, broccoli and Mac n cheese. Everything is on point and reminds me of home. I'll be back often.
Food good to me never had nothing taste bad at all some people just can't say good things like the food gone taste like the food you cook at home😂😂 that's why you add your own seasoning to your food after you order it🤷 ya'll think they worried about people not coming back😂😂 stay home cook your own food problem solved...
Small cafeteria style service with home cooked meals. Really nice folks.
Really nice people and awesome chicken fried steak. I recommend it to anyone.
Best chicken in town. Lunch specials.
Reall down home cooking!
We were passing through and decided to stop by. We are so glad we did. The selection was great on a Friday with beef stew, meatloaf, fried chicken, saulsbury steak, and fried catfish. We tried the Salisbury steak, catfish, chicken fried steak, and fried chicken. Each one was delicious. The veggies were home cooked, delicious, and seasoned well. We would definitely visit again. 4 people are for about $55, very reasonable.
This is a small building off the main road. I have been here almost 4 years and today was the first time I’ve been there. The food was amazing. This is food I grew up on. The kind you’d get at grandma’s house for Sunday lunch. It has been YEARS that I DID NOT have to add and salt, pepper or put hot sauce etc just so it would have a taste. It was seasoned to perfection. I WILL be a REPEAT customer. And all I got were SIDES ! It is VERY obvious it is homemade
We love to go to Moons on Thursdays because they have enchiladas + baked pork chops! Today I had the baked pork chop, and it was delicious!! Their Jalapeno corn bread is unmatched! I highly HIGHLY recommend Moons. Their staff is always very friendly!
So I decided to try moons….. I read some pretty harsh reviews “the food is dry” well I gave MOONS a shot and was surprised literally the best pork chop ever lol….. best corn muffins ever so good I bought the rest that they had, only real complaint was my tiny little sisters said the mash potatoes were salty, although I didn’t experience that myself because I’m on a seafood diet. Anyhoot you should definitely give this place a shot there super friendly….. only of course if your into delicious homestyle food!

Love the chicken dressing even though it's only served on Sunday!
We have been eating there off and on for over 10 years. Even though we have moved from the area, we always make time to stop in. Good size portions, always excellent home cooked food and place is clean! We highly recommend...and our kids are now hooked also!
Not sure why there are bad reviews but the food was great and definitely not dry! My husband has celiacs and they had gluten free options such as baked chicken that falls right off the bone! Will most definitely make our way back here when we visit!
The Velasquez family that owns this restaurant are such wonderful people and the food is always so good. You can't go wrong no matter what you choose to eat, but their baked chicken, chicken and dressing, and mexican chicken casserole are the top choices I would recommend!
Great homestyle food served in a cafeteria-style fashion. Wide variety of food choices for both main dishes and sides and hot and their jalapeno cornbread is so good.
Man tasted like Grandma's house fried fish was delicious and the chicken was fresh and hot will definitely be going back
Tried Moons for the first time on Sunday after church. It was very busy & they often look closed. We really enjoyed everything & will go back. Food had great flavor. Just imagine if we all opted to spend our money at a small family business over a fast food or big chain. We ordered baked fish, meatloaf and fried chicken. All came with sides amazing hot rolls and then we got pie for dessert.
The food is always very good. Best fried chicken anywhere. Nicest humble people. Love the comfortable atmosphere. Alex and her family are just good people. Also..the best pies! They also make fried catfish, cfc, french fries by order . Quickly made delicious!
This homestyle restaurant is a gem hidden in plain sight. Now having tried this place, I intend to eat here every time I'm on the road through Kaufman. This restaurant is wonderful, and the city is blessed to have a place of tradition like this. You can't find this in Dallas.
I ate here for lunch and there were many options to choose from, the fried chicken taste just like it was made at home, the mashed potatoes were real potatoes and the corn tasted as if they cut it off the cob! I will go back and take my family!! Definitely home cooked meals here!! And the staff WOW!!! Extremely nice and polite!!! Trust me I asked a lot of question about each item being served and they had no problems answering my questions!
From Fort Worth traveling to my moms. Stopped in for the first time and it hit the spot. Very clean. Food was delicious. Lady's been there 30+ years and makes all the food including mini loafs aka rolls. Prices are great. Will return for sure. Deviled eggs a little blan but that's it. I recommend the baked chicken, seasoned and baked perfectly. Oh and my favorite part was its quiet. No TV or load music. Loved it.

Reminds me of my high school lunch but the food is better and price is not bad. It's hidden away behind circle K.
Great food and friendly service. Very good place. Everyone should go and try then out.
Chicken was awesome, veggies were good, pea salad needed more egg and onions
Home cooking at its best
Good home cooked food
The food was good. The service is friendly. The place is clean and chill to sit down in if you’re passing by on a drive. I really don’t appreciate the overly critical reviews here. It’s cafeteria style, ‘home style’ food. And ‘home’ is going to be like they owners, cook, and local people eat their food. It isn’t gourmet nor is it going to be made just like you’d make it at home. I suggest you consider the impact on a business before you just review ‘won’t return’ and don’t have any real, constructive criticism. I had dressing, baked chicken, stew, mac and cheese, and almost all the veggies they had to offer. Over two days. Cause I’m visiting my hometown, and it’s too hot to expect anyone to cook for me. And I can’t exist on fast-food. Imma go every time I come through town!

good food very pricey for what you get
Decent food
I was so disappointed in the food. It's cafeteria style and everythin looked so dried out. I got the pork tenderloin, green beans and mashed taters n gravy. The tenderloin was very sweet, too sweet. Mashed taters were bland like only water was used to make them instead of milk and butter. Gravy was packaged and green beans were out of a can with no flavor. The cashier who served me was very nice and friendly. I won't return.
I just bought a quart of pinto beans. Employee put in a paper bag that did NOT support the weight of the beans. I got out of my car with the beans which tore. $16 splattered all over the driveway.

Sorry, the food was awful, everything tasted like it was slathered in bacon grease. Even the mashed potatoes. Fried chicken wasn't good either, or the fried pork chop. Sweet people but I won't lie about the food, it was bad.

They say open 10 till 6 Mon-Fri, was there Monday at 4 and place was all locked up and noone answers the phone
I will not be back.
What a disappointment. The chicken looked like it was refried and dried out, BBQ looked old. Mashed potatoes were bland. A bunch of junk cluttered the right side of dining area. Advertising " free kittens " turned my stomach. I wish I had of noticed the " kittens " first.
Decided to try this place out. Was disappointed. Everything looked old. The fried chicken was good but didn't have a good crunch. The potatoes were dried and made me want to puke. The sweet potato were cold on some parts warm on the others not a good mix. I gave it a shot but I won't be coming back here again.
