This is a great place to have dinner with friends and family! Everything we tried was delicious 😋 I highly recommend the fried shrimp. My kids said that the burgers were awesome. The ranch dressing is amazing. The sliced beef sandwich is soooo tender and juicy. Free refills on the soda . Our server Zack was great. We had a large party and he got everything just right .Brelyn was a wonderful server as well . This will definitely be on our once a week list . See you there!
We love this place. We ended up there by chance on New Year’s Eve. We met up with friends and their children - it was a very pleasant experience. Great food, great service and we’ve been back since. Amazing food!!!
For those visiting Kemah this is a little hidden gem. The menu is phenomenal you can get anything from seafood, barbecue, Cobb salad and not just any cobb salad. A massive beautiful salad and if you like smoke meats you're at the right spot. Two meat plate 19.99, can we say also affordable. Definitely stop in for a bite if you're in Kemah you won't be disappointed.
First time here. Service was EXCELLENT! The food was delicious and the beer cold. The portions were good as well.
Loved everything about this place. The armadillo eggs were delicious. We had the seafood and brisket.
Austin was our server. He was very attentive, friendly, made sure to constantly check on us throughout our meal. Knowledgeable of menu, if he didnt know answer to a question, he would obtain clarification first before providing answer. Food was well prepared, everything was hot upon arrival to table, food was well seasoned. So glad we tried for ourselves instead of going with opinion of someone else who said food was not good.
Delicious place!!! T-Bone Tom’s is a Texas treasure! Their steaks are perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor, while their diverse menu offers something for everyone—including seafood lovers and burger fans. The relaxed, rustic vibe and lively outdoor patio with live music make it a great spot for any occasion. Service is top-notch, and the portions are generous at a great value. Don’t miss their famous Armadillo Eggs and homemade desserts! Highly recommended for a fantastic dining experience in Kemah. 🌟
Had a very enjoyable meal here. The tenderloin, the bbq plates, the mozzarella sticks were all very good. But, in my opinion, the key lime pie stole the show. It was really, really good. If I find myself in the area again, I'll definitely eat here again. We didn't know that T-Bone Tom's was showcased on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives until our waitress told us, so we decided to give the Armadillo eggs a try. Apparently they had been featured on the show, ironically, that's the only thing we had that I wouldn't recommend. They just didn't hit the spot for me. But overall, just a really great place to eat.
This is a must if you have never been. Great food ! Inside dining is an option but the patio is where it’s at! Live music , lots of tables! Heaters if needed. Full bar, drafts, bottles, wine. They also have merch, hats shirts . TVs for games on patio . Great variety of food for a great price . Great family dinner night . The staff is on point !
Aye, this food is like steakhouse perfection. Especially the steaks and baked potatoes! We ate the New York and the T Bone steaks with the baked potato all the way. Simply delicious. I would pit these steak and potatoes up against anyone. We went for my birthday and the manager Brian, treated me like the mayor of a small town. He is awesome, and I was honored. My waiter Jose was cool and very helpful as well. He helping us choose the best foods on the menu andprovided excellent service. And his 3 week old daughter was their with her mom. Little Isabella is adorable. We can't wait to go eat there again.
This place is a must-try, if visiting Kemah, TX! The food was amazing! We had the Armadillo Eggs as an appetizer....perfect recommendation by our server. I had a steak finger basket...great sampling of their chicken fried steak in strip form (So tender!) Hubby had Tom's Choice Ribeye steak...great flavor and grilled to perfection! The portions are huge! The prices are reasonable. We easily made 2 meals out of our orders. The staff is friendly & the atmosphere is very unique since Kemah Broadwalk is within walking distance!!!!
First time there. We love it. I have a life-threatening allergy to sea food (I can't even smell it), we told the waitress and she managed it great, she told us about the food that it was safe for me to order. She told the manager about it, and he approached us to make sure everything was ok. The food was so good, and the place was clean. I recommend this place 100%.
We came to Tom's for dinner and meats. This place does not disappoint at all. The worst parts were that the place has no official indoor seating it's all covered outdoor seats with fans running so on the hotter days it is probably a bit rough. There was love music playing and the band was doing a bunch of covers and played very well, they're just over powering while playing so conversations are mostly saved for in between songs or when the band takes a break. The food itself is delicious, with large portions at a very reasonable price. I ate the marbled brisket and sausage which were both exceptional. They came with a smokey bar b cue sauce which went great with both meats, though I preferred only a small hint of sauce. The onion rings were delicious and filling. I had to share them with my party to finish them off. If the weather isn't too hot, this restaurant is a must. Probably worth it even when it's hot too.
The food was great. I had the classic chicken fried steak and it was tender and very tasty. We did have a problem when we first arrived. After we were seated, out server didn't show up for 15 minutes. And that was only after we asked another server to help us out. With that in mind, we had been there about 40 minutes before we started eating. Once the server arrived, she did fine but I don't think I've ever waited that long to be served. One other thing - we had the bread pudding for dessert. It was really good but the portion was enormous. It could easily have served 4 people. So keep that in mind since it was their signature dessert.
The service and the atmosphere are great. I’ve tried multiple plates, however for some reason the bbq never taste the same. I ordered the 3 meat plate a few times and the second was just ehh and the third time it tasted like burnt crap or something. Like it has been dropped on coals. It totally grossed me out. The first time was great though. Idk.. they need quality control on it or something.
Ordered brisket queso for appetizer. Could've had a larger portion of brisket and chopped jalapeños served instead of large slices. Entree included blackened catfish with green beans, rice and spinach. Dinner companion ordered fried mushrooms as another appetizer. Outside was crispy, but I didn't like texture inside. Cocktail was a peach long island tea which could've been stronger. Server was attentive and humorous. Will return to try other items. Enjoyed live music on patio.
After a day at the Space Center Houston, we stopped by T-Bone Tom’s in Kemah for dinner. A close friend of ours that used to live in this area recommended T-Bone Tom’s to us. There was no wait, and we were seated right away. As soon as you walk in, you can tell this place has been here for a while (the menu said “since 1974”) and there’s a really good vibe to the place. Our server, Amy, was awesome! She was friendly and attentive. Since it was our first time here, we had questions about the menu and Amy helped us pick our entrees. She made it a very enjoyable dining experience! We started with the Fried Mushrooms, which comes with house-made ranch dressing. This is a large portion of breaded, deep-fried mushrooms and it was good. The ranch dressing was great. For our main courses, we got the regular portion Chicken Fried Steak (gravy on the side) with onion rings and corn and the T-Bone Steak with a side salad and fries. The CFS was lightly breaded and very tender. We tried it with both white gravy (shown in the photo) and brown gravy. I liked it with the more traditional white gravy, but my wife liked it with the brown gravy. Just ask, they’ll bring out both for you to try! This was really good CFS, and I can see why it is one of their bestsellers. The fried onion rings were very good (with more of the ranch dressing!) and the corn was also good. With our appetizer, the regular sized portion was perfect….my wife would not have been able to finish the large portion! I ordered the T-Bone steak medium rare, and initially it was a little rarer than I liked. But the manager came around to our table to ask how our food was, and he was happy to take it back and throw it on the grill for a few more minutes. The manager brought it back out to make sure it was exactly how I liked it, and it was perfect. This was a nice piece of meat that had great flavor. The fries were really good also. We had a great meal at T-Bone Tom’s. I highly recommend that you put it on your list of places to eat.
The service is great. We had a huge party and they were able to accommodate us. We loved our servers. The food was where I was disappointed. I had high expectations since Guy Fieri reviewed it on DDD, but the only thing I somewhat enjoyed was the potato salad. I got the marinated rib eye, which was recommended by Guy. If I go back, I’ll try the regular rib eye. Live music was fun but loud.
We visited this place two years ago for New Year’s Eve, and it was incredibly crowded. We waited for an hour to be served and even the appetizer came after 45 minutes of being seated, and after that, there was a mistake in our orders. The staff were friendly and attentive, but their mistakes made the experience less enjoyable. The long waiting time was also a downside. The quality of the brisket was not exceptional, and it was a little cold. Since we’re approaching New Year’s Eve again, and many people will flock to kemah to see the fireworks, I thought I’d share my experience. I hope this feedback helps them improve their service for this year’s New Year’s Eve guests.
This was my second time in a number of years that I have visited this restaurant in Kemah. My first was the better of the two visits. Because, I was mainly there to see the Texas music artist, Van Wilks, perform live in 2017 in promotion of his 21st Century Blues CD from two years prior. In recognition today for T Bone Tom's, the majority of my part for presenting a positive review, at the end of the year, overall is for their efforts for bringing Texas music artists, primarily, to their stage, regularly for the south Texas coastal community of residents and visitors to our esteemed ecosystem! I do know now, after the second visit here, that the outdoors extension to the restaurant is the better, more lively place to sit and relax. Drink your favorite beverage and talk or l listen to live music. While inside on this Halloween visit, I felt I was constantly being observed by various members of their wait and buss staff. Because, they would make an appearance every few minutes, around the corner to the back booths and then quickly turnaround to retreat out of view from that back area of inside the restaurant. I suppose, because we were there still occupying the table and drinking tea after our meal there. So there wasn't enough for them to do elsewhere in their job description. I would also like to state now, that this restaurant is not a Texas general foods restaurant nor anything considered Tex Mex. Even though their main outdoor marquee sign says steakhouse & restaurant. Purely, it's a steak zoned, BBQ, hamburger and/or seafood fares restaurant. No fish and chips, I saw on their menu. You'll have to go on down to Kemah boardwalk area. There's a few good ones there! For example, instead of a great Texas nachos; with toppings of Texas chili or fajitas, with your choice of beef steak skirt or chicken breast or mixed, and quality nacho cheese, sour cream, fresh guacamole, and sliced jalopenos. They'll offer an entrée, simply called Brisket Queso. That is the closest thing to Español you'll have to choose from here. If ground or beef cuts is your main forte, there's plenty of sides to go along with your meal. Our appetizer of choice was the fried mushrooms with ranch dressing. And two sides, with potato salad and fried okra with my choice of two meats, good tasting ribs and sliced beef brisket. She chose the coconut fried shrimp. I Liked the very filling and thickened potato salad which of course, is like a meal in itself or a non sweet dessert in my opinion. So, as Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top says, Ease off of the potato salad! Or ya'll will be asking for takeout packaging like we did. Oh, and least not forget, their catchy claim to recognition here, that's for their brand of Armadillo eggs, aka (deep fried jalopenos). I tried those the first time I remember coming out to T Bone Tom's!
We thought the armadillo eggs were definitely delicious. Our server was amazing and the customer service and vibes all around were great. We were just a bit disappointed in the quality of the prepared food. We would come back for drinks and appetizers, customer service and great atmosphere. Maybe not for the brisket in the mac and cheese, though. Which might be just a personal preference. We had heard great raving reviews about it before going ourselves for the first time.
T-Bone Tom’s is a local landmark and we’ve seen some great bands here. We’ll definitely be back to see live music and have a few appetizers. Unfortunately, the food isn’t the greatest and we probably won’t eat a full meal here again. Or eat inside. We came here with our two kiddos and were seated in a corner. It was very constricted but our waiter was friendly and efficient even if he did rush us a bit. We’d definitely sit outside next time. We ordered the fried zucchini appetizer which we loved. They were crispy, fresh and piping hot. Paired with ranch and they were amazing. Wish we would have stopped at those. I ordered the fried catfish with macaroni and cheese and hushpuppies. The fried catfish tenders were awful. Mushy, not crispy at all and tasted like they had been cooked from frozen. Didn’t finish them. Macaroni and cheese had zero seasoning. Hushpuppies were ok. Also not crispy, but soft and mushy. My husband said his gumbo was decent but nowhere near the best he’s had. He wouldn’t order it again. For the price of the food, the quality should be better. We were disappointed big time.

Kemah’s waterfront charm extends inland to local institutions, and few places capture the spirit quite like T-Bone Tom's.
