I miss Baja Fresh! We discovered you in Elk Grove when we moved to Cali in 2000. Were excited to see you in Contra Costa when we moved over and then, pop! Gone.... So when Google told us about you on the 5 en route to So-Cal we had to stop. Nothing has changed. Same great flavors! Same terrific service. Best street style polo taco, EVER! Oh how I miss you ❤️

I don't often write reviews, but I was impressed with the staff at this location. There aren't a ton of good food options in the area, especially for vegetarians. The folks behind the counter had a great attitude and the meals were super flavorful.

We were heading back from San Diego to the Bay area. The food was very good. Ordered a Baja bowl, Burrito and Taco. The customer service and the people were so nice . We headed back home only to realize 5 days later that I had forgotten my credit card at their facility. When I called, the lady who answered the phone was so pleasant and friendly. She said she had it. She then gave it to her manager who mailed it back to me. I want to thank Baja Fresh for their excellent customer service.....friendly and honest. THANK YOU! You guys are awesome.

Shovanna is AMAZING! She will walk you through the menu, offer add on options, and help you decide, if needed. She was friendly, fast, and helpful.

Its a good spot to stop when you're driving on 5 and there is no where else to go. The food was ok, pretty expensive for what it was.

Should be labeled better to be visible well from the freeway. It was hard to spot it from the road. Staff did not seem welcoming or happy to serve. Fast service. Busy place. Food was ok. The bowl was fresh and tasty. Quesadilla, not so much.

Food was fresh and hot. Manager offered my son a “secret menu” option for his quesadilla. My other son also has peanut and tree nut allergies and we had no problem getting him food that was safe for him. Building exterior could use sprucing up but interior was fine. Clean and basic but did the trick. Will definitely stop by on future road trips along 5 cuz I’m tired of greasy burgers and Subway.

Stopped for a quick bite while refueling at the gas station. The guy that served seemed not happy to be serving us. I asked for a chicken bowl, where he didn’t hear me correctly. and gave me a veggie bowl. When asked for clarification on the missing chicken, he said I asked for a veggie bowl. He didn’t offer to add chicken or provide any kind of customer service. The fajita veggies on the veggie bowl were slimy and stale. I have not had Baja Fresh for a while and wanted to give a chance again, but sorry to say this place has nothing to be fresh, don’t be fooled by the name. I would rather go to McDonald’s or Taco Bell and eat food cooked with inflammatory oils or stay hungry than wasting my money and health on Baja Fresh. This place needs remodeling or a face lift, it seems sad and dead in there. Wonder how they are surviving. Disappointed.

Picked up 2 taco combo and quesadilla on the way to LA...$35 Arrived in LA with all people in our party sick from the food. Poor quality, overpriced, sloppy presentation...never again. Not nearly as good as Baja Fresh in the Bay Area...

Love Baja, but this place was rough. Guy behind the counter was fantastic though. However, I am not sure it was steak in my burrito and skip the trough queso (usually a good idea generally). Some intestinal yoga ensued for me...

Ordered the Taquitos, they were taken out of the fryer too early so they were chewy and oily, no crisp at all. There was barely any chicken in them. So terrible we couldn’t eat them. Beans looked dry and had a funky taste. Chips were stale.

I have never written a review before, but this was truly a bad experience. We went there and ordered two bowls, the guy at the counter ran out of rice so he went to the fridge, pulled out the tray and touched everything on his way there. When he came back, he continues preparing our food without changing gloves (he touched all the Ingredients with his hands). Being the millennial that me and my partner are, we didn’t complain and got our food. As soon as we left we threw it out and went to Subway. Ingredients also looked very stale and like they had been sitting out for way too long. Also, extremely dirty with all the Ingredients mixing with each other. This place should be called Baja not Fresh.

Walked inside today and it smelled like sewage. Walked right back out. How they could even serve food with the aroma in there is a mystery.

I don’t understand why they close so early at 6pm… it’s not like every day is Sunday

⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 star) Stopped at the Baja Fresh in Kettleman City (inside the gas station) on Friday for lunch, and it was genuinely one of the worst burrito experiences my husband and I have ever had. Both burritos were completely overwhelmed by raw white onions. We were told it was pico de gallo, but it was absolutely not — just massive amounts of raw onion that overpowered everything else. There was no balance, no flavor, and barely any noticeable cheese or salsa. The only thing you could taste was onion. What made it worse was the price: $17 per burrito. At that cost, you expect something at least comparable to Chipotle but this was far worse. Honestly, anything would’ve been a better (and cheaper) choice. We were extremely disappointed and wished we could’ve gotten our money back. Would not recommend stopping here, especially at these prices.
