Opiniones de Tubby's Kingston
This places gets some great bands and has a really eclectic menu. Super intimate venue - when we went here to attend a show, we were maybe 15 feet from the band. It was amazing!
Great LITTLE music venue! Very EASY to meet & talk to people. Nice outdoor smoking area with table/umbrella setups. Saw SKORTS for their final show of their US tour! Kingston is a beautiful area.
Neighborhood bar with 6 drafts on rotation and nice happy hour special. Sweeeet menu with tots as a side, fancy tots available. Room in the back for shows and events, and Frogger/Arcade games!

Excellent place to forget yourself and enjoy the way a human does.
A throw back to the days of small establishments that had warm friendly staff. Excellent vegan food, and I'm not even vegan. Great local and touring bands. Plus a fun happy hour.
Tubby’s is the best! Kind and knowledgeable staff, welcoming atmosphere, amazing drinks (and food!), wide array of shows. A gem and staple of midtown Kingston.
Great place, and great music. But they really need to raise the stage 2 feet and raise the drums another foot beyond that (there's room). Only the first five people can actually see the band. I ended up watching most of the show on the monitor. And when the sign on the door says music starts at 8, and they start at 9? That's insulting.
First time here last nite to see Dummy from LA play! Great show, sound and supporting bands. Good venue to see up and coming bands in a smaller space. The bar was good, with a nice little curated tap and mixed drink selection. Bonus veggie friendly food made inhouse by Ace of Cups. You order the food thru their QR code and pay separately from your drinks, which was a bit confusing but works once you know what you are doing, haha.
This is an excellent place to see a band or performer. It’s an intimate space, and sound dude Kyle makes every act sound great. They book great music; even if you’ve never heard of whoever’s playing, it’s worth your while to drop in and give a listen,
I go to Tubby's for their shows, they host great bands and the chance to be so close to the stage gives a great feeling of intimacy
Nice, attentive bar staff, comfortable divey atmosphere and the performers they book are so consistently excellent that if I were closer (bout a coupla hrs away) i’d practically live at the place.
Another Kingston institution. It's just one of the best places to meet up and hang out. As well, there's live music several times a week
Great place for awesome music and friends. Cant wait to get back there!
The menu is crave-worthy and the food is soul satisfying! They also serve an array of homemade condiments with every meal and each one is stupid good. Like really really good. Plus, their cocktails are great and their beverage selection is well curated. Fun dance parties on the weekends too!! Really happy to have them in the neighborhood.
I wish I lived closer so I could go here more often. It's across from UPAC. Small, corner bar. AWESOME food options (I am vegan/gf!!) Friendliest staff, excellent atmosphere, really cool set up. Highly recommend!!!
Great bar with nice atmosphere. Interesting indie music and good indie bands. Really nice bartenders who know what they are doing. Good place to meet people. Always good drinks too. Tubby's is not just a bar it's an experience.

I attended a Steve Gunn solo performance. He was very good.Tubby’s is an old school dive bar with the disgusting aspects usually associated with a dive bar non-existent.iIt has a capacity of about 50 people.Reasonable prices for tix, food and drinks. The stage area is intimate.

Cool club vibe. They need to consider changing the angle of the stage so more folks can see the entertainment.

I went on Friday December the 13th around 8-11pm and me and my friends who are new in the area and we got rejected drinks for not "tipping" after clearly leaving them tips multiple times. This was very unfair and never coming back again.
I live walking distance from Tubby's and have enjoyed going there in the past. Last night, my boyfriend, who was visiting from out of town, and I met friends there. My boyfriend went up to the bar to order us drinks. He had enough to pay for the 2 drinks but ran out of cash for a tip. He walked back to the table where we were sitting, asking if any of us could lend him cash for a tip. As this was happening, the bartender started yelling at him from across the room. I went up to the bar and tried to talk to the bartender, explaining it was a miscommunication and offering him money. He refused and continued to insult my boyfriend and talk to me in a demeaning tone. We then promptly left. This was disheartening because all of my other experiences at Tubbys have been great. From other reviews, it seems there is a pattern with this bartender. He looked to be about in his 40s, white, with a graying beard and glasses. I can’t help but think this guy was judging my boyfriend because he’s not from here and made whatever assumptions about him. This is sad because I always thought of tubbys as having an easygoing accepting atmosphere. I'm updating this post because I found out this bartender is actually part owner of the bar. So I'm guessing the other owners are okay with his behavior and treatment towards customers. My advice is, if you still decide to go here, beware of this guy. Make sure he knows you're going to tip him, unless you want to experience a grown man having a meltdown behind the bar!
I had high hopes for Tubby’s, as it had quickly become one of my fav spots in Kingston. However, my recent experience left me deeply disappointed. I went with my crew again, and at some point during the night, I asked for the check, not to leave, just simply to check my balance so far. To my surprise, the bartender informed me that no more drinks would be served to our table because we ‘weren’t tipping.’ This was puzzling, as I wasn’t finished for the night and intended to tip once I settled the final check. If this decision was based on another friend who had left earlier without tipping, it’s unfair to punish me and my group for someone else’s actions. Even worse, one of my friends visiting us from Miami was also denied service, despite being completely uninvolved in the situation. It’s unfortunate because the bartender Bel was genuinely kind and deserved a good tip. I would have happily tipped generously at the end of the night. Instead, I felt unwelcome and embarrassed, which is not the experience I expected from a place I had come to enjoy. This was my second visit to Tubby’s, I don’t go out that often but certainly I am not going back there and none of my friends too 🙂
