Preguntas frecuentes sobre Hambrusia
Opiniones de Hambrusia La Paz
We had our best ever Negroni here, made with Mexican gin. I recommend sticking to the menu drinks, when I went off script with a G&T I had to add pass it off for someone else to drink. Food was creative and well done. They are ingredient forward and good preparation. We had the pork belly and glass noodles. The pork was more like a grilled boneless chop. We had the yellowtail sushi which was hands down my favorite, delectable tuna, flavorful rice and dipping sauce. Other notable was the coffee flan. While it was nothing reminiscent to me of flan as a Miami Latina it was well done and seemed more like a moist cake than the rich eggy creamy texture of flan. The flavors were good and to keep the family peace left the savages to devour it while I looked on with my Negroni. Definitely dropping by on my last day for a Negroni and tuna sushi plate.
Excellent service and wonderful selection of Mexican fusion dishes, craft cocktails, and beers. I went twice because I loved it so much. Would have gone thrice except they were closed for the holiday. The mezcal-based Margarita Ancestral was refreshing after a long, hot day in the sun - and it’s part of their happy hour offerings from 6-8pm. Food was tasty and made with quality ingredients. Outside seating for sunset is a must.
La Ambrusia in La Paz, BCS, offers an exceptional dining experience that blends creativity with traditional flavors. From the moment you step in, the restaurant impresses with its cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, making the dining experience seamless. We started our culinary journey with the Taco Tripulpo, a delightful surprise of octopus with tripitas. The unexpected combination delivered a burst of flavors that was both unique and satisfying. The presentation was impeccable, and the taste was simply excellent. Next, we indulged in Mei Mei, featuring pork belly topped with a tantalizing mix of Teriyaki sauce, served on a delicate flower tortilla. This dish offered a fusion of flavors that delighted the palate, showcasing the chef's skill in blending different tastes into a harmonious dish. For the main course, we savored their signature burger and fries. The meat was incredibly flavorful, complemented perfectly by the pesto and meticulously cut French fries that were crispy and delicious. Each bite was a testament to the chef's dedication to quality and taste. Overall, La Ambrusia deserves a perfect score of 10 out of 10. The restaurant not only delivers on taste but also on presentation and ambiance. It's a place where every dish tells a story of creativity and passion for food. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore unique flavors in a welcoming environment.
We ordered both vegan and vegetarian dishes. We absolutely moved the mei mei taco with shiitake mushrooms. The nachos were tasty, but the cheese hardened too fast and quickly became overwhelming because it was all connected like a giant unmelted firm string cheese - I wish the cheese were more melty or easily separated. The beet pate was delicious. We ordered a margarita and a mescal drink and both cocktails were great! Best margarita I’ve had in La Paz (but, to be fair, that isn’t saying much 😅). This was one of three places we ate at in two months that we would happily return to.
Had dinner Tuesday evening at Hambrusia on the Malecon. I've walked past it so many times and finally decided to give it a try. Absolutely outstanding!! Delicious food and excellent service. Lots of variety. Guacamole was slightly chunky just the way I like it. Perfectly grilled polpo taco. Meat deliciously caramelized. Dessert flan was great too - not too sweet with a bit of crumbles on the side. Drinks were well made too with interesting garnishes. Can't wait
Best place on the boardwalk hands down. We tried few places but this is the one. I want to give also Another 5 stars for the amazing service. We had their burger. Which was so juicy and flavorful. Your eyes will close out of exctacy savoring this masterpiece that comes with perfectly seasoned crispy fries. The pulpo taco. What to say. It was exactly the same experience as the burger. Party in your mouth and you won't regret it. We also had their sangria and their mezcal cocktail, they complimented the food perfectly. I could write alot more on this place complimenting their big collection of exquisite mezcals and that it a passionate chef owner that created this incredible menu but I will pave the way to incite you to come try this place. You won't regret it.
Highly recommend the tasting menu, everything was delicious and special. Many unique and delicious options using local ingredients.
Good service and tasty craft cocktails and wines. We really loved the menu and food options. We treated the menu as tapas style to share so we shared 3 items and all were delicious!
Great place. Great food and friendly service. We had a lot of different options and all of them were extraordinary. I believe they are a new restaurant but honestly I believe is a must in la Paz!

Baffled by the lackluster reviews here! We loved it so much we went twice in our short stay. Really interesting, delicious, reasonably priced food; great drinks; great service.
Hambrusia is a cute little restaurant across from the La Paz malecon. For drinks we had their skinny margaritas which we're refreshing. For food, we got the Tostatun which came as two small pieces and I was delicious, 10/10. We also got the Pescado Ahumado en Casa which was a bit dry and too salty, 5/10. Another dish we tried was the Bellytori which was just a small dish of oversauced, but flavorful glass noodles with a small slice of pork belly, 6.5/10. We also got the Guacamole con Pansa which was about 7/10.
Finally made it here. This is billed as artisanal tacos, and it's right on the Malecón. I had a sashimi tostada as well as a shrimp tostada (w/guacamole and bacon). Both were very tasty and well-prepared, although the tostada itself was fragile and broke easily. With a glass of water and tip, mxn$300.

I don't know if it was an off night or business as usual, but the experience was disappointing. The food took a long time, despite the place being empty. Service wasn't great (e.g., never asked how we wanted the burgers cooked, didn't check in after the food came, didnt ask if we wanted another drink). The place was empty although the Malecon was bustling. The food was only okay, my burger was more bun than burger. Overall just underwhelming, especially for the price.
This restaurant has good vegetarian options. After reading the reviews we thought we would give this place a shot. We ordered beef tacos nachos burgers beet tacos tuna tostada and fried shrimp happy. The burgers were fantastic however the fries were over done and super thin. The beef tacos were not served hot and were Luke warm by the time they got to the table. Nachos had good flavor however the chicken on them was cubed and obviously reheated and hard. The tuna tostada things were okay....the best tacos were great. Service was wonderful. Great atmosphere.
Tried for dinner. Definitely a unique menu. Tried a couple of tacos and the Pesto Burger. Service was spotty at best. As often happens, most of the craft beers were not available, Food was ok, but …

I am very shocked with the high ratings of this place. The place is a taco bar. The servers are totally ignorant of the wine list or any other non-taco request. They do not even know how to serve…
Service - 👎🏻 Food- 👎🏻 Waiting time- 👎🏻 ***charge more from the prices on the menu*** We were waiting for an hour for our food. After an hour we asked them what’s going on and they didn’t even apologize After an hour and 15 minutes the food arrived and goshhhhh it was horrible! We asked for baby chair and they said they have only one and someone is using it already so my baby had to get his clothes and stroller dirty! When we got the bill we found out they charged us higher prices than the menu shows and when we mentioned it they wasn’t surprised!!! Like they know what they’re doing!! Don’t let the starts of the reviews to confuse you! Just to know it’s not a good place at all! I can recommend about a great place which calls PIZZA JOINT! WOW WOW WOW.. and the service is excellent! Thanks me later;)
