This was a great place to eat at! It’s owned by a bubbly Japanese man who speaks a little English. The fish was very fresh and the prices were reasonable!

Hapi has the feel of a small sushi place in Japan. We enjoyed our meal of seaweed salad, edamame and rainbow roll.

We were visiting Labor Day weekend from Chicago, happened to walk by this place and stumbled in. The host/server was courteous and friendly. The rolls were great. They even made me a custom roll I asked for not on the menu. The chef was fun to watch! Great little date spot. No line to get in, delicious, and great atmosphere. You can’t go wrong here!

Great! First time here and really good. Just came back from Japan and looked forward to having god sushi here. Love it. Toshi-San was so nice and has had his restaurant for 40 years! Highly recommend

Could not have been friendlier wait staff! We came here midday for an early dinner around 4pm and walked right in for a seat at the bar. We ordered our rolls directly with the chef and they prepared it right in front of us. All other apps came out quick too. Not to mention everything is reasonably priced compared to every other sushi spot in Laguna!

Stopped in for a quick lunch today with my boyfriend. We had a california roll, a salmon skin roll, and some miso soup. It was all delicious! The service was quick and amazing. The gentleman working the counter was so sweet and energetic he made the experience so fun!

Very nice sushi option in Laguna. The fish is very fresh. The service is friendly. The sashimi sampler was good. The dragon roll was not up to my expectations (at other places it is topped with fish) the special tuna roll (tuna dream) with slice tuna topped with another kind of tuna I think was great. Would be happy to go back. With the size it is hit or miss if they have space.

Fantastic! Toshi-san is the real deal. If you want an authentic sushi experience in Laguna Beach, true to its origins, plus a little SoCal flair, this is the spot. Take it from someone who lived in Japan for over seven years and is tough to impress when it comes to sushi. Also lived the innovative appetizers like the crispy rice.

Small place, good, simple sushi. That's how I would categorize it. I had the salmon and lemon roll and it was fantastic. Had the philly roll and it was adequately filled with favours that fought to win your palet. Nothing fancy here, just great sushi done in decent portions. I will definitely be back.

The sushi was averageish, but we had to send back a roll because of a giant hair in it (check out the picture). They barely even acknowledged it. They just took it without a word and brought a new one ten minutes or so later. It would have been nice if they'd apologized or offered any sort of discount? Also they never brought us napkins.

I was really hoping to like this place because of the other reviews but it was bad. The sushi was falling off the plate and was wrapped loosely. The Sapporo bottles smelled like fish and the restaurant was completely outdated and it was so hot inside. Hot environment plus bad sushi is a no go.
