Opiniones de Chaupain Bakery Laguna Hills
This is one of the best French bakeries if not THE best French bakeries in town. We ordered the egg royale, French toasts and a bunch of croissants. The ‘everything cheese’ was delicious (ask for it warmed). It’s like every bite was meticulously baked to satiate your taste buds. You can never go wrong at this place no matter what you eat. Semi the owner and his staff are all so nice and generous. We love this place.
Small but amazing bakery with some great breakfast items. We ordered the avocado toast and it was fantastic. Then saved space for some great pastries, a croissant topped with pistachios and another flaky pastry with creme and berries. Just something as simple as this can put a big smile in your face and a great start to your day. If you are ever in this area, it's a must to visit. It gets busy though.
Chaupain Bakery has been our favorite brunch place in the past 2 years. It's located in a parking structure, but it has a great view of a small Lake. The Chaupain Omlete, Sunrise croissant b, and Sam's breakfast sandwich were all so delicious and fresh. The highlight of our breakfast was the pastries. The pastries were incredible. To top it off, the staff surprised us with complementary pastries, which was a delightful gesture that made our day even better. Overall, I highly recommend this place for its tasty food, amazing bakery, and excellent customer service.
--- Chaupain Bakery: A Taste of Paris in Every Bite Chaupain isn’t just a bakery—it’s a delight. The aroma of fresh bread and pastries greets you at the door, and the display is pure art. Flaky croissants, vibrant fruit tarts, rustic loaves, and unique quiche offerings tempt at every turn. But it’s the flavor that truly shines. The almond croissant is crisp and creamy, and seasonal specials showcase local ingredients with finesse. Whether it’s a morning treat or a box for guests, Chaupain makes every moment feel special. ---
One of the top level bakeries around. Really wished I could order and eat everything. Come early as there is usually a line out the door but the line moves relatively quickly. I would skip any of the teas as it's just from a tea bag. Go for the pastries. There is some outdoor seating.
I came in late yesterday with my wife to be only greeted kindly by the staff. Although the croissants were sold out (most popular) there were other delicious options. We took two speciality pastries, two loaves of delicious blueberry bread, cookies, and some sourdough. The gentleman walked around the counter because he knew we were out of town. He was very nice and took the time of day to get to know us. Extremely pleasant experience from employees who are happy to work there. He even gave us some free things! Talk about customer service. Now every time I go into OC I will stop by just because of that experience.
This place is delightful my bosses and partner won’t stop talking about amazing this place was so it’s around the corner from our office. I must say the pastries are so delightful and delicious freshly baked and packed with the right amount of sweet and savory. The place is so clean and the staff is so delightful. They greet you upon walking in and they ensure you are left super happy. Heads up each day they have different pastries so don’t get comfy getting the same one everyday which is totally fine with me they have taken care me even on my second day so I highly highly recommend anyone to come check them out. All the other customers they had say their courses are really tasty as well Update* 3/17/2022 This is still an amazing spot here hidden away in lake forest. The montecristo is cooked to perfection the savory and sweet tender crisp of this sandwich is so divine. There omelette is tasty. There Nutella is so good and their lemon keifer is so smooth reminds me of a lemon Chello. Smooth citrusy and great. You have to get their Borgia is soooooooooo amazing the mocha and orange dance on your palette lord mercy if I die today I would die happy. The staff is superb I love coming to this spot during my lunch thanks guys
I’ve visited Chaupain Bakery a few times and it never disappoints! Their pastries are always fresh, with a wide variety of offerings that deliver an authentic taste. The staff is consistently friendly and polite, which makes the experience even better. While it may not be the best French bakery in OC, it’s certainly among the top contenders. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Great foot and service. At this location, only outside seating is available. The tables do offer bistro umbrellas but the parking lot is tight if one drives a larger footprint vehicle. The proximity of the parking area also impacts the atmosphere a bit.
Justin was LOVELY! Thank you so much for making our first visit to Chaupain Bakery so wonderful and delicious. We will be back. I cannot recommend this place more highly. Just go!
Croissants here are very fresh and delicious especially because they are not too sweet and greasy. I had a chocolate croissant which was well balanced between the chewy bread, crunchy cover, and just enough chocolate. An almond custard chocolate croissant was also delicious because custard was not dominant or too sweet. A mixed berry bateau croissant was very different from almond custard chocolate although they kinda look alike. I enjoyed them all. The servers were very nice and generous. I tipped them with all my change, and they were very grateful as they should unlike some other places where they do not acknowledge. The prices were reasonable. I wish they had some gluten free options as well.
Oh my God! What an amazing bakery. This is the best coffee break in the middle of the day. I just discovered this place after 6 months of having opened (as they told me), and I cannot believe it. What a gem. This is the best French bakery that I've been to, other than France and west of the pond! The selection is unbelievable, the authenticity unmistakeable, the taste heavenly, the prices very reasonable and the people super nice. And what a smart play in its name (as in Chopin but spelled as in Warm Bread). I have had a tough day but Justin made it right! I got a few danishes and Justin threw in a couple of more and made it great. And they also have breakfast served all day, lunch and a cute patio outside to sit and relax. I don't need to bore you with what they have which you can find on the menu, but also with the viennoiserie and the bread I got, some of which you can see in the pictures. This place is well worth it! I have tried pretty much every bakery in Orange County. Nothing comes close to this. Finally an authentic French bakery!
A bakery specializing in Franch-inspired bakeries. The pastry here was delicious both for adults and elementary school girls. These pastries taste better and feel more comfortable when purchased at a specialty store rather than making them at home. Chaupain Bakery has two branches. There are new stores in Laguna Hills and San Clemente that I visited. I felt that it was a good place to eat outside or take out on a sunny day.
We visited Chaupain on a Saturday morning around 10:30. Service was incredibly quick, probably 3 to 4 people ahead of us in line. We ordered the quiche Lorraine and pain perdu to share. Both were incredible. Seating is outdoor only, so that's dependent on good weather but it's well worth the trip. All of the pastries look amazing. We will absolutely be back to try more things.
We visited Laguna hills place for the first time on Sunday September 7th I can say only one thing. Food is great if workers create great atmosphere and if they make you feel welcome. No one cares about food if service is bad. Young Asian server girl went above and beyond to make all perfect. From bringing food with smile, seeing that we will share Quiche (best in my life so far), checking on us and providing extra boxes for takeout, we did not need to ask, she already knew what we need etc. I do not have enough words for her service. I just hope that owners know to appreciate their workers and can keep her smile for long. Thank you.
Chaupain never fails! This bakery is so loved by me that I am always eager to introduce friends and family to it. The croissants are hands down the best I’ve had - better than what I’ve had in Paris. The quality of the food is always 10/10 but what really motivated my review today was the impeccable service we received by this gentleman who had curly hair and hazel eyes (shout out to him)! He made today’s experience so warm and welcoming that I was so proud my best friend could see why I love Chaupain so much. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and as we were about to leave, he sent us home with some treats. Now, what he didn’t know was that he gifted us with the very treats that I was sitting there thinking, “I really want to try that custard berry croissant. And if only I had space for my favorite pistachio croissant, I wish I could share it with my friend so she could see how wonderful it is.” All that on top of the fact that my dad had been in the hospital for the past two weeks - this man’s act of kindness went such a long way. I wish I knew his name. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ♥️
This place is simply amazing!! Every time I’ve gone( the staff are so friendly and happy. Most times, they throw in a free pastry or bread as well. This place deserves all the success they have been getting with more locations on the way! I try to bring in a box of these pastries to my work once a month or so, and everyone is always so excited and content with whatever I get from here.
My husband found this place online and took me there as a surprise even if he didnt know how it would be (because it reminded him Europe since I am Czech and this place is French) and we were blown away with the brunch and also the pastry we took home. We even got another 3 pieces of pastry for free from Justin which was another very pleasant surprise 👍 The only odd is that it so small inside and you can only sit outside but the quality of the food makes up for it. I also like the idea that you can pick side for the main breakfast and it has good options (salad, fruit or potatoes). I had a savory croissant with eggs and avocado and salad and my husband had a monsignor sandwich, both very delicious. The croissants are just perfect both savory or sweet. Places like this are much much better that the common american breakfast places.
Best pistachio croissants we’ve ever had. This place has a lot of wonderful pastries and specialty loaves. The two ladies that were there this morning were super nice and gave us extra. My son also ordered the breakfast burrito and he had a great time eating it. We would be here everyday if we lived anywhere close to this area.
Best rustic sweet baguette in Orange County! Crunchy crust held by a soft, chewy, stretchy texture in the inside. Their Jalapeño infused feta cheese and labne dips are phenomenal and perfectly complement their breads.
Cute French bakery with a great selection. Delicious bread. Plenty of outdoor covered patio seating. Outdoor is accessible, inside is a little tight if one was in a wheelchair or needed extra space
Excellent wraps, sandwiches, croissants, ingredients are very fresh. Wraps/Sandwiches comes with the choice of roasted potatos or salad. Coffee are just ok so you may skip however they do offer fruits infused ice water. Cafe can be very crowded on weekends morning but be patient and you’ll find seats. The crowd is a mix of locals and foreigners. Occasionally, there are birds hawking around the tables. Overall, highly recommended especially their croissants, pastries and tarts, probably DA BEST I’ve tried whilst in LA, gives Porto’s pastries a run for it’s monies ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The only cons are there is no restroom within and you have to use their neighbour’s crap restroom that cant even lock 😖😫 and black birds hawking over your foods.
Quite a wonderful bakery! This place is a hidden gem in a normal strip mall. You might just pass it by - but don’t! The locals know about this bakery, and it becomes quite busy. The breads and food here are delicious, and the staff are friendly and professional. While there is not much of a view or atmosphere, they do have an outdoor patio, which actually is quite nice to just sit and enjoy coffee and pastries. The coffee is very good as well! I would definitely make the effort to come back here, as everything is quite delicious!
Got dang. We got the croissant sandwhich with eggs, gouda and avacado. *chefs kiss* it was rich and divine. Bruh, the turkey sandwhich with ficcocia was so good. I honestly felt like I was in a bakery in paris. The pastries were delicious and we also got the roast beef sandwhich with eggs, i forgot what its called, its one of the breakfast specialties. That was also good. It's a nice spot. I didn't try any of their lattes or drinks, but they looked good. Next time. Edit: came back a second time. The service is 10 stars. Justin was an amazing server. I had their lattes, we orderd a bunch of pastries and sandwhiches. The best. Love this place. Literally feel like im back in paris. I also orderd the salad, so filling and delicious. This is my favorite resteraunt in orange county and socal.

Tried them at the farmers market in Claremont and everything we had was delicious. We tried the pistachio croissant, the cinnamon twist and the jalapeño cheddar croissant. Loved everything but my favorite was the pistachio croissant. Hope to visit again soon to try more menu items.

My eyes were definitely bigger than my tummy. Yet leaving town tonight…. I had no choice was prisoner to trying them all!
Chaupain French Bakery is hands down my new favorite spot in Laguna Hills! The second you walk in, Cherise and Annie make you feel so welcome—it’s like visiting friends who just happen to serve the BEST pastries and coffee ever. The croissants are insanely good—flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of crisp. Their fruit tarts are gorgeous and taste even better than they look. The bread? Absolute perfection. I always grab an extra loaf to take home because it never lasts long in my house. And the coffee… smooth, bold, and the perfect partner to anything in their pastry case. What really makes this place special, though, is the vibe. Cherise and Annie create such a warm, friendly atmosphere that you’ll want to linger over your latte and just soak it all in. If you’re in Laguna Hills and haven’t checked out Chaupain yet—run, don’t walk. This spot is the real deal!
I used to have a favorite bakery in Santa Cruz and I have missed it so much since moving here. When I found Chaupain’s, I was deliriously happy. This location is quite small. There is no inside seating but there’s nice outside seating with umbrellas. I generally come for the pastries which are to die for! They are quite expensive but they last for days and they are so delicious. So when I need to treat myself, I go to Chaupain’s. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone who loves good food and fine baked goods.
Just want to say first of all, the service my wife and I got for our first time being there was absolutely phenomenal. Huge shout out to Justin for helping us out over the phone and in person. My wife and I ordered an abundance of Cinnamon Cream Cheese Danish's. We highly recommend. Also their other dishes are great as well. We will back.

A sensible bakery. I've definitely had better pastries but I admire their and non-frisky storefront. They're the best in the area that's for sure but it's a small pond. Docking a star because I suspect their croissants are made with oil and not butter because I feel quite lethargic after I put one down. Big fan of the yogurt!
The French onion soup was pretty salty to my personal taste but I liked that they gave 2 extra pieces of cheese toast to soak into the soup cause that’s the best part right? My friend seemed to enjoy her smoked salmon avocado toast. It was little hard to enjoy our food because of the aggressive bird problem. They have no fear and will come right next to you to get your crumbs. It didn’t help that I just watched Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” movie not too long ago. Scary…
I love their pastry💜 probably one of my top 5 go to place for pastry. However, their coffee is an epic fail. Bring your own coffee bad. Staffs are friendly and my grandkids get free treat often but their tables don’t get clear pronto. Even like weekday low traffic time. The birds in the area are so used to feasting on left over we witness birds stealing potato from customer’s plate while he was still eating it. They only have outside seating so be ready to battle these birds.
The Chaupain Bakery is a wonderful French bakery with delicious pastries and coffee. If you’re looking for a bakery with great atmosphere for a quick snack, a sweet treat, or your morning coffee, this is the place. As a cafe, it’s not ideal for studying or working, as all seating is outdoors and there isn’t complimentary wifi. As well, I found the meal options to be a bit more expensive than I’d like. I got the eggs benedict with potatoes. The portion size was alright and flavor was pretty good, but the biggest issue was that it was served on a baguette. Again, it tasted great, but the shape and stiffness of the baguette doesn’t really work well for an eggs benedict. Still, the experience overall was positive, and I would recommend.
Chaupain Bakery in Laguna Hills is such a charming spot with plenty of plaza parking and easy wheelchair-accessible spaces. They also have outdoor seating with umbrellas, which makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy your coffee. We ordered the almond croissant, chocolate croissant, turkey sandwich, and an Americano coffee. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. The croissants were perfectly flaky, the sandwich was satisfying, and the coffee was smooth. The customer service is friendly and attentive, which adds to the overall welcoming vibe. The only room for improvement would be the outdoor area, since there are often hungry crows walking around, it would be nice if plates and tables were cleared a bit quicker to keep the space more comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience and I’ll definitely be coming back. A wonderful bakery that truly brings a taste of Europe to Laguna Hills! 📍 24401 Ridge Rte Dr b104, Laguna Hills, CA 92653
**4.4/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ Chaupain Bakery Laguna: Solid Croissants & Danishes in a Convenient Spot** Tucked in a sunny Laguna Beach plaza off the PCH, **Chaupain Bakery** is the perfect fast-casual stop when you need a quick French pastry fix near the beach 🥐🌊. The location is super **convenient**—easy parking in the lot, close to shops and just minutes from the sand. The interior is bright and simple, with a long display case full of golden treats that look fresh out of the oven every time. **Service was friendly**—the staff behind the counter greet you with smiles, happily box your order, and move the line quickly even during the morning rush. Grab-and-go vibes, but they’ll warm things up if you ask. Picked up a classic **croissant** and a couple of **Danishes** (apple and cheese). The croissant had a nice shiny exterior with decent buttery flavor and a soft pull-apart interior. The Danishes were pretty—glazed tops, visible fruit and cheese filling—and tasted pleasantly sweet with a tender bite. That said, deductions keep it from the top tier. I personally wanted them **more flaky** (the exterior was crisp but didn’t shatter everywhere), **less sweet** (the glaze and fillings leaned a bit heavy on sugar for my taste), and a **fluffier dough** overall—could use more airy layers and lighter lamination compared to elite French bakeries. Still, Chaupain earns a solid 4.4 for delivering reliable, fresh pastries in a friendly, convenient beachside location. It’s not life-changing, but it’s consistently good when you’re craving a croissant or Danish on the go in Laguna. I’ll keep coming back after beach walks or when I need a quick treat—worth stopping by if you’re in the area.
I got the pistachio croissant and at it at 135pm, so the chance of it still being great was not particularly high in my mind. The sound was also not optimal, but it was good. I was wrong and from the first bite, the texture, crunch and softness was definitely there! I'm impressed. So probably considerably higher than a 4, but I just couldn't give it a 5 unless it was transformative. Definitely gets high marks from me, and I'll make it a point to get another one in the morning sometime.
I recently visited Chaupain bakery and was impressed by the quality of their croissants, bread, and yogurt. The food is definitely worth trying, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty breakfast or snack. However, the service could have been faster, but it did not detract from the quality of the food. Overall, I would still highly recommend Chaupain bakery for their delicious offerings. Just be aware that service may be slow even during quieter times.

Why three stars? Because businesses need to stop using garbage payment processors like Nayax. $2.50 processing fee on top of a $43 purchase? Price in your costs, stopping nickling and diming as extra charges. If you can't afford to price in credit card fees, just stop offering it. Won't be coming back to any Chaupain while they engage with these shady payment processors.
I didn’t finish my omelet (although I was hungry). Controversial place. My omelet assumingly was made out of cheapest eggs you can buy. It was so rubberish that they could make a trampoline out of it and jump all day long. Other dishes were not that great as well. Bakery is ok though. Not worth the money, imo.

This review is limited strictly to a sourdough loaf I bought this morning, which was super disappointing. If you go to a bakery at 8 in the morning on a weekend (and a "French" one at that), there is no way the bread should be several days old. To be fair, I can't say for a certainty that it was baked several days ago; it just tasted like it did. And to be honest, that may even be worse, because you can still taste the "goodness" of the bread from a good bakery even a couple of days later. This was just overall a huge disappointment; poor quality dough, poor 'density', and poor taste.
I just bought this bread yesterday evening at our local flea market we have in Chino Hills thinking let me try something that looks like it would taste good, but I was deceived and wasted $13 on this ROCK HARD OF A BREAD THAT WAS NO GOOD. It was very bad that not even toasting or warming up in the microwave would help soften it any. I didn't think that the bread would turn into a BRICK the very next day. Now it's not edible unless I want to break a tooth. If I was able to I would rate it a No STAR!!!
