My fiancé would eat here all the time as a kid. She moved to Texas where We met. For the last 8 and a half years, she has pretty much talked nonstop about how good choice sushi is the best sushi she has ver had. Needless to say, she has built up an expectation of excellence and other worldly quality from here. From bite one, I was not disappointed. The fish is so fresh and buttery and of the best quality sushi I have ever had. Not to mention the rice. It was nice and warm, tasted amazing, and complimented the fish. The employees are kind. Yesterday when we were they, everyone was nice! But also 5 years ago, when I called them from Texas and asked to buy a shirt and have them ship it, they were more than happy to help out. They even give you 10% off for wearing a shirt in. (They gave us a free appetizer coupon when I bought the shirt, but I forgot to bring it from Texas). Needless to say, Good Choice Sushi is my new religion. We will come in every time we are in the area.

Superb staff! Even though I didn't know how to phrase my order, they helped me order the poke bowl i meant to. Good looking out for me. Very thoughtful waiter. Generous food! A lovely place with chill Hawaiian vibes.

Fantastic place! Found this place by total accident and it was a windfall. I have an opportunity to eat Sushi all across United States and this is one of the best places I have ever been to. The sushi is very fresh and the rolls are very unique. When they brought me wasabi it wasn't just a thimble full but a good size serving. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I like spicy things in this location has plenty of options for that.

I've heard good things about this place for years and years. Finally had the opportunity to go and it did not disappoint. Started out with miso soup and edamame which were both great. Then I got the kalikimaka roll and the spicy tuna roll. Both were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going back. This will be a regular place for me.

The quality of the sushi is better than most good ayce sushi places. I was particularly impressed with the salmon and yellowtail sushi. Fresh and good quality like a good a la carte place. Is the sushi the very best? No but no ayce place is. Ayce is every Monday and Tuesday 5-9pm

Absolutely love this place. Honestly i’m really confused about the bad reviews. The sushi and poke bowls here are hands down some of the best I’ve had. You can tell everything is fresh and beautifully made every time, the staff is always kind and welcoming, and the quality is just consistently amazing. This spot has been one of my go to favorites since moving here a few years ago, and I’m genuinely so grateful for it. Thank you for making incredible food and maintaining a great atmosphere. They’ve also done catering for us before, and it was just as perfect, beautiful presentation, generous portions, and everyone loved it. 💛🍣🥢

Sure the service and atmosphere used to be a lot better. The food is still great though! I miss the greeting when walking in and how it felt more like a friendly local spot. Now it feels less personal/warm somehow but that can be fixed! I think Michele just needs some better help and it can be restored to what it once was! Honestly great sushi - please keep supporting this gem so we can bring it back to glory!

Great place I love to come here for lunch. The food is fresh reasonably priced and it’s a great location to have a quiet business lunch. I do wish that there were a few more tables that would see more than two people so if you want a table for four you gotta get there a little bit early and or wait. Great staff great food

Great place I love to come here for lunch. The food is fresh reasonably priced and it’s a great location to have a quiet business lunch. I do wish that there were a few more tables that would see more than two people so if you want a table for four you gotta get there a little bit early and or wait. Great staff great food

This place was amazing! My boyfriend and I stopped here to eat from a little road trip. We love sushi and we gave this place a try. One the best choices we ever did! The food was delicious, the service was great and we loved the cozy feeling since it’s small! We live about an hour and half away but we have already made plans of returning just for the yummy sushi!

My previous visits had more than appetizers and fruits on the boats, and it used to be really awesome, being able to try so many different things. It's still one of my favorite places for sushi in the area, but the novelty is gone with the lack of variety on the boats. The boats are the whole reason you go to Good Choice!

Albacore Sashimi was good, daughter liked her Udon soup, Sunomono was just cucumbers with a watered down dressing that lacked flavor, the house salad did not have a ginger dressing as is customary - it was just mayo and lemon juice. It seems their food is good you just have to know what to get.

Sadly, I’ve been here a few times and have given them enough chances to conclude that nobody here is happy. The food is very low Quality. I have walked in the building with the front of the house Greeting me with the most unwelcoming energy. Sadly, this is not a good choice for sushi.

Used to be great; we went there for 15 years. Enjoyed Japanese Hawaiian food with both sushi & Poké and live Hawaiian music on weekends. Now, no Japanese sushi chefs, no Japanese greeting, music or culture. At the risk of sounding racist, it’s now staffed with Hispanics, speaking Spanish (loudly) to each other while ignoring diners & playing loud Mexican music. (This is sushi, NOT tacos!) No Japanese greeting or farewell. Floors have sticky rice & debris that needs to be cleaned up, walls have holes in them where art was pulled off the wall & the whole place needs a deep cleaning. The menu has changed, portions are smaller & presentation is not as artistic. The worst thing this is this place used to be busy all the time, filled with locals & a happy place, but not now. Won’t be going back.

Then, when they did answer, I was told it would be 35-45 minutes for the rolls to be ready. When I arrived the rolls were still not prepared. There were no customers in the restaurant so the only reason I can think of for the delay would be the staff showed up late and were unprepared to prepare food by the time they opened. I ordered a crunchy roll and a happy specialty roll.. The Happy specialty roll was definitely not all that fresh. It had a fishy flavor to it. One bite and I was over it. Do I moved to the crunch roll. After biting into the first piece I realized the shrimp was not cooked through. Very disappointed. I was really looking forward to having a sushi restaurant across the street from my house.

Too bad because Good Choice Sushi in Capistrano Beach, which has a different owner, is amazing.

Service is good, sweet kind waitress. Food sucks honestly, if you're used to gas store sushi sure give this place a go but if you are accustomed to the delicious sushi found in Irvine or Westminster I can't recommend this place. Rolls are lacking any season fish taste fermented and rice is sour. Sucks how beautiful our Laguna Niguel is but the food choices here are so bad, it's a no for me. I'll continue to make my way to north OC
