☺️☺️☺️Best barbecue place in the neighborhood! The environment is elegant, the waiters all wear black suits. Their service is friendly.💰30-60+ per person, good place for couple, family, friends. This restaurant has a powerful smoke exhaust ventilator, you will be completely tasteless.

Quality food and service with small town price. Meats were melt in your mouth and full of flavor. Presentation was top tier and what you would expect at a high end restaurant but prices were reasonable in comparison to the amount of food you receive. Will definitely be back. No other restaurant like it in Lake Forest.

South OC, you’ve got the newest wagyu spot and it’s literally fire. Order the Ran set, it’s perfect for two people and they start you out with bangers like wagyu tartare and abalone salad, like are you kidding me?? And if the meats don’t come in a smoked treasure box like at V Wagyu, then I don’t want it. It come with wagyu short rib, wagyu miso chuck, spicy garlic rib fingers, shoyu-marinated short ribs, but my favorite had to be the A5 wagyu ribeye. Dip it in the ponzu sauce before cooking and it just melts in your mouth. And the tasting set even includes seafood like colossal shrimp and Japanese squid, and tableside stone pot rice with wagyu and truffle sauce. I didn’t even leave room for their green tea cheesecake, consider me stuffed! Thanks for reading! ^-^

We had the most wonderful experience for dinner tonight. Even though they are still in their "soft opening" phase, it feels like they have been doing this for years. My husband and I came in and did the tasting menu for two. Sometimes tasting menus don't come with enough food, but this one certainly does! We were stuffed and everything was absolutely delicious. The meat was high quality and cooked right in front of us to perfection. We especially loved the salt and sauces that everything came with and were impressed that they were made in house. Our server, Addison, could not have been more lovely. She struck the perfect balance of letting us have a date night while also making super fun conversation when she was at the table to grill the food. Everyone was truly incredible-- the service was top notch and we were raving about the entire experience the whole way home. We cannot wait to go back!

What a seriously awesome place! We went for the soft opening and they have this sweet tasting menu for two that's unbelievable! We had tartare, carpaccio, shrimp, oysters, and some top notch ultra marbled Wagyu! The quality of the meats is unforgettable, the staff is all awesome, and Chef K is an absolute artist that really puts his heart into the taste and quality of the food! Even the ambience is great! I hope these folks don't get sick of me coming too often cause we'll definitely be returning!

I came here last night with two friends who have never been to Japanese BBQ. V Wagyu BBQ is a great addition to the area. We had a phenomenal time, the meal was a great value with very high quality meats. We split the Kiku Set for the 3 of us and it was more than enough food. The manager spent a good amount of time with us explaining how the meal works and helping us grill our meats properly which we were very grateful for. We will definitely be back.

Check out OC’s hottest new wagyu spot! We ordered their RAN Set which is a tasting menu box for 2 and started off with delicious appetizers like wagyu tartare and abalone salad. Inside our wagyu box were all the best cuts of wagyu like: wagyu short rib, wagyu miso chuck log, A5 wagyu ribeye, and A5 wagyu ribeye cap. You even get a wagyu stone pot that gets mixed right in front of you!

Incredible dinning experience in the recent opened Japanese BBQ place. The tasting menu is highly recommended featuring variety and decent amount of wagyu and dishes. Meats are super fresh and the dipping sauce are very tasty too. Also the dessert are my favorites. You won’t regret trying the matcha cheesecake.

I am SO thankful we came out tonight during their soft opening phase and had Gia and Anna help us, it was absolutely fabulous and their service was stellar. The ambiance was luxurious and showed QUALITY! We made reservations for this same weekend because o m ggggg their high quality tasting menu has me weak at my knees. I can't wait to be back. Thank you ALSO!!! I don't ever eat seafood. BUT THAT ABALONE SALAD GAWDAMNNNNN SO GOOD. I ate it, and the jumbo shrimp was chefs kiss delish.

IG : @waitfoodfirst There is an all new Japanese barbecue in lake forest called v Wagyu and they are serving up perfectly marbled Wagyu meats and delicious Wagyu appetizers like Wagyu sushi and Wagyu Tatare. My favorite cuts were their a5 Wagyu ribeye and a5 Wagyu zabuton. They melt in your mouth and go so well with their house made sauces and special salt. Trust me, you can’t skip out on these cuts or their juicy pineapple enjoy.

Japanese BBQ place that is a bit rough around the edges, but with top notch meat and grills to match, it definitely has potential. I recommend sticking to meat orders and skipping all the sides. There are two main dinner packages they give- one featuring American wagyu and the other Japanese A5 wagyu with a few other trimmings. We tried the Japanese one. When we came in we could immediately see that it was very smoky. Definitely hope they provide increased ventilation. Meat was very well marbled (see pictures) and the grill is EXTREMELY powerful, giving a fantastic sear. They even give you some beef fat to help grease the grill/plate, but it's so hot that the food didn't stick anyways. They give each person a tray with 3 sauces (seasoned salt, teriyaki, and a spicy one. The spicy one is the only one I liked. First came some raw vegetables to grill. There was also a side of blanched cherry tomatoes marinated in in a yuxu sauce, which was very refreshing and delightful. Next was a mushroom soup that came in a tea kettle. Cute presentation but it was soso. Next came an abalone salad and a beef wrap (literally a vegetable wrapped with beef seared on one side). The main course is served in a wooden box with a little over the top ceremonial flourish. A tiny sake bottle puts out a lot of smoke (I'm guessing it's dry ice). All the meat was very well marbled and tender. A quick sear on both sides and it goes pretty quickly. After that came I think it was 2 very thin slices of ribeye; gorgeously marbled. they gave a bowl of ponzu to dip meat in, which was much better than any of the other dipping sauces. The penultimate dish was a hot stone bowl of rice and a bone marrow that they mixed in. The rice was a tad undercooked (it was a tough short grain, I think it was calrose) and unfortunately I could not taste the bone marrow due to being overpowered by soy sauce. Finally the dessert was a small slice of cheesecake dusted with an unnecessarily copious amount of powdered sugar. The cheesecake was kind of a new York style and much too sweet (I'm sure the powdered sugar didn't help). The service is very ritualized which I didn't particularly care about but I guess it might be fun for a date night. I personally didn't like any of the sides, but I thought the meat was top notch. As of this writing, v wagyu bbq is a BRAND NEW place so I think it definitely needs some time to get into its groove; and I look forward to seeing it grow!

This is not what i thought i would arrive too. Name Wagyu Factory BBQ and HotPot, also on Instagram. The number to call is invalid. But the location is there for you if you do not depend solely on the technology! Same address different name, wrong number. Wrong times of operation.

Food was great. The Japanese wagyu is really something! We chose the Tasting Menu for 2. But the service was exceptionally confused and confusing. -Seafood (which were to be grilled) was served before the majority of appetizers and while our grill was stone cold. We had to ask for someone to turn our grill on… -We also had to ask for water and dipping sauces as these were never dropped at our table. -We had a waiter, but it was really a team effort (which was great to see). However, what this resulted in was a great deal of confusion - nobody really knew where in the meal we were at or what food had or hadn’t been delivered. At one point in our meal, I felt that I basically served myself by telling them what else they needed to bring to the table. -no ventilation…? At least we came out smelling like there was no ventilation If they can improve service, the price tag of a $118 tasting menu would have certainly been easier swallowed.

NOT recommended. See reasons: —Chawanmuchi was horrible— taste like alcohol, none egg Flavor. Taste like it had over 10 tsp alcohol in it. —The edamame was hot while it says in cold dish. —The wagyu hand roll was $10 each but the beef was worse than cheap marinated kbbq and taste worse than that. Definitely nothing like wagyu. — hot stone wagyu rice barely have waygu nor rice. —Miso soup was very salty and has nothing good taste. —Beef tongue was the only thing good. —The box costs $68 for about 8 pieces of meats and two of them was rotten and tastes it’s been a long time in ridges. —server isn’t bad but still lack of well prep training for getting things to customers. One waitress with very long bangs out delivering food out so I worry the food safety. — Two people paid about $200+ after tax and we had to go somewhere else for food after this meal. Hope management can be more thoughtful of their food and be better!!!! xiaohongshu recommendation are fake from influencers. Don’t believe in that.

One of the biggest wastes of money I’ve experienced in a long time. Four of us walked out with a $500 bill and nothing to show for it except disappointment. The food was average at best, nowhere near what you’d expect at that price point. I’ve eaten at plenty of fine restaurants, and this one doesn’t come close. The inside isn’t anything special—certainly not the kind of ambiance you’d expect for half a grand. Honestly, you could buy a week’s worth of groceries for what this meal cost. Save your money, skip the hype, and go somewhere that actually delivers on quality and value.
