I absolutely loved this place. This is a really nice spot to go for a special date night. It is set a short walk away from Covent Garden Station. They have seating downstairs which is more like bar type of seating and upstairs which is more like the formal dining room. We sat upstairs and admired the London view from the top. The architecture was exquisite too. We went for brunch and ordered avocado toast on sour dough bread and a wagyu burger with truffle fries. If it was later in the day we would have gone for the steak. The service was excellent and the waiters were able to identify what was halal from the menu. We ordered the famous chocolate French toast to follow and it really was worth the hype. This place was really extra special and I genuinely felt it was a nice quite place to have a meal with your loved ones. It came with a hefty price tag of around £40-50ph and there is a service charge attached. I would go again for the steak!
Visited Christopher’s for lunch and dessert to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and as always, it didn’t disappoint. The food was lovely — we had the chicken burger, and the sauce was especially flavourful and really brought the dish together. The real standout, though, was the brioche French toast — consistently excellent and easily one of the best desserts on the menu. It was a nice touch having ‘Happy Birthday’ written on the plate, which made it feel special, even if it’s a shame they don’t do the sparklers anymore. The atmosphere was great, as it always is — lively, buzzing, and full of energy, which adds to the overall experience. A reliable spot for good food, great desserts, and a celebratory lunch.
Christopher’s is a restaurant I genuinely love dining at — the food quality is consistently superb. I’ve visited many times for dinner, but trying brunch was a real highlight and did not disappoint. The ambience is always a pleasure, especially during Christmas, when the décor is beautiful. I also really appreciate the artwork throughout the restaurant, which adds to the overall experience. While service can be a little slow when it’s very busy, the staff always make the effort to provide the best service possible. And I have to say it — I’ve never had better French toast than at Christopher’s, and even in 2025, that still holds true. A firm favourite and one I’ll always return to.
Christopher’s is a beautiful restaurant with a warm, elegant atmosphere and attentive service that makes it feel like a special occasion spot. This time I went in the evening and ordered the French toast, which is often praised as the best in London, and it was genuinely excellent. Perfectly cooked, rich and indulgent without being overwhelming, and beautifully presented. The overall experience was relaxed yet refined, and the quality of the food is usually spot on. Somewhere I’d happily return to.
Christopher's in Covent Garden is fantastic for any occasion. I celebrated my birthday there, and the atmosphere was buzzing and classy. The food was genuinely awesome. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the standout had to be the French toast with ice cream. It was the perfect, unforgettable birthday treat – rich, decadent, and utterly irresistible. Seriously, if you go, save room for it! Overall, Christopher's provided a brilliant birthday experience. Great food, great atmosphere, and that amazing French toast! We'll definitely be back!
The French toast here was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly cooked, golden on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside and had just the right balance of sweetness. The flavors were rich without being overwhelming, and every bite felt like pure comfort food. The presentation was also impressive, making the dish look just as good as it tasted. Overall, it was one of the best French toast dishes I’ve had in a long time, and I would definitely come back just for this alone. Highly recommended!
Hands down the best French toast I’ve ever had! Specifically, the Peach French toast is a must try! The flavors were incredible and it’s worth the trip alone. While the service was a little slow and could have been more attentive, the quality of the food more than made up for it. I’ll definitely be coming back for another round!
We came made on American Thanskgiving. Amazing food and service. We had the thanksgiving menu. We loved everything, especially pumpkin soup and the lamp chops! The pear tart and chocolate brownie were one of the best we ever had. This is one the best meals we had in London during our trip.
Was my first proper meal after landing in london. Steak and pasta were absolutely delicious, french toast was pretty good as well but i would eat dessert somewhere else. Shout out to Adrian for being an amazing & super attentive server.
The food at Christopher's is second to none! Beautiful views of Strand and the best French toast in London
Birthday lunch before the theatre. Great touch walking in and said happy birthday to my girlfriend on arrival, I know it’s a small gesture but it’s nice to have this greeting. Sat down quickly on a busy day. Staff were very friendly, I ordered the fried chicken and waffles and my girlfriend ended up with the warm brioche French toast. They decorated her plate, but put the food over it which was a bit disappointing but again a nice touch. We both enjoyed the food. And I had to have a bit of her French toast and it was soo good. Will visit again but need to try the French toast
I have been in this bar restaurant for a brunch. I absolutely loved it. I loved the environment. The food was very delicious and we both liked it. We ordered the buttermilk chicken burger, truffle egg sandwich, 2 cappuccino and sides. The staff is very polite. I will definitely be back!
Beautiful restaurant, peaceful ambience. Had the famous French toast which came with ice cream and chocolate sauce for dipping or pouring. Absolutely delicious, warm and soft, loved every bite of it. Only thing to fault was there was too much chocolate sauce inside the French toast. However, 100% would recommend, as I will definitely be going again.
Had the chocolate brioche french toast, which was absolutely delish! Amazing staff who brought my sister’s one with a sparkler as I requested ‘Happy Birthday’ to be written on the plate, such a cute moment. Will have to come back to try the peach french toast. I went back to try their food. I was expecting to have a more tasteful burger for that price, it was good but I don’t think I would get it again. I really loved the lobster mac and cheese, I definitely recommend trying that as it is a very good dish. It was the first time I tried mac and cheese with lobster and I have to say the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had! This time I tried there peach French toast, which was delicious! If you have more of a sweet tooth, I would recommend going for the chocolate French toast. Service is amazing and very attentive to your needs. Bathroom is clean and the interior is pleasing to the eye.
Gorgeous place! Super fancy and good drinks menu and food too! I loved the passionfruit martini and the sweet potato fries. I’d recommend this place to anyone!
Oh Man! The French toast! Best I’ve ever had people! Steak and eggs were decent #brunch. Staff were lovely and last minute birthday candle added - so much love ans thank you! See you next week for more French toast lol. ❤️
Christopher’s is by far the best brunch spot in London. Always hit this place up for their French toast each time I visit London. No one else does it better. The prompt service on arrival as well as their timely manner adhering to bookings is second to none. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!
We came here for brunch, ordered Caesar salad, chicken with waffle, chicken sandwich, chocolate french toast, pecan pie, coffee. Caesar salad was really good, French toast was amazing. Pecan pie with coffee ice cream was a great combination. Coffee was also well made and complimented the sweetness. Would come back for the sweet stuff.
Christopher’s has been on my foodie bucket list for literal YEARS. The chocolate french toast was truly the star of the show and everything I dreamed it would be🤩 Thick, fluffy, drenched in rich choccie sauce and topped with ice cream to perfectly cut through the sweetness😮💨 If I lived in London, this would be my go-to brunch dish! Word of warning though, do not get the truffle scrambled eggs! I was not impressed especially as they are one of the more spenny items on the menu (about £24.50!!). The egg basically came in a block, not creamy at all - hard pass and deffo not worth the splurge💔 Overall, the french toast more than made up for it though!
Amazing food, on the expensive side. However the only issue was table booking - we had booked for 5 and confirmed the booking beforehand and when we got there they had decided to give our table away even though we were on time. So had to wait for another table on a busy Saturday night
A really good brunch in London! Went for a birthday brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Amazing staff, great venue and very good food! We ordered the truffle scrambled eggs on sourdough toast which were simply delectable, and the chocolate brioche french toast which was the star of the brunch, fluffy, sweet, not too oily and simply flawless. We also ordered the spicy prawn tacos which were truly nothing to rave about, and was slightly underwhelming, which was probably our mistake for ordering tacos at a non-Mexican restaurant. Nevertheless I would highly recommend for brunch!
I came to this restaurant and I'm very happy. It's elegant and the girl who served us was excellent. We asked for service to be removed because we're students, but she did the job for a moment.
Absolutely stunning building 🤩 and lovely hostess who greeted us. Food was also delicious - though I would say for the cost we would’ve expected more fruit/toppings. We also asked for tap water and were given a £6 bottle, and £6.50 for an iced latte seems a bit steep, even for London! 😅
Great place for American style brunch in Central London. My wife ordered the famous French toast, which looked amazing. I ordered Steak and eggs. The steak was cooked medium rare to perfection with 2 eggs with orange runny yolks on top. We also tried the Parmesan Truffle Fries, which I think was the winner of the show. If you plan to go on a weekend, booking in advance is a must.
Very decent french toast! (Just beware that they can get super sweet after few bites, although the level of sweetness is not overpowering). Staffs were all friendly and foods were served super quick which really impressed us - only thing to point out is that coffee was really average and tiny, americano portion could be larger given the sweet dishes. We booked for bar seatings on the ground floor, but was seated table area which I think it’s better off 😄 Seemed like they have larger and nicer dining area upstairs.
Food were amazing but the service was absolutely AWFUL We have asked 5 times for tab water that we only refilled once Staff were rude, I worked in catering before and the guy who came to take our order had not shown enough respect by chatting with another customer. Another staff who took our payment didn’t willing to walk a step further and my friend had to reach to tab her card. When we grab our coat from the cloakroom staff could easily separate out multiple items instead of throwing everything to us to sort out. Lack of thoughtful care. Shame that such a beautiful place and delicious food had such a poor service Feeling regret to pay the 13.5% service fee as we didnt feel we have been properly served. All the star goes to the food, service and floor staff were terrible.
Lovely food but service requires improvement. Waitresses spent a lot of time gossiping openly about customers and other co workers which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. Less time gossiping and more time making it a kind environment for everyone please. One of the gossiping waitresses dropped a knife on my hand and didn’t apologise either, not a small “sorry”, nothing. Expect amazing food but not the best service :)
Came for my friend’s birthday celebration. The building and atmosphere was beautiful. However we felt for the price didn’t really get our money’s worth. I had the cheapest item out of the 4 of us (the chocolate French toast) and it was probably the nicest out of all the meals. It was my friend’s birthday and she had the scrambled egg with smoked salmon. However the waiter had wanted to wish her a happy birthday, so handed her my plate which had it written in sauce. He moved the egg and salmon dish to in front of me, I can’t stand the smell of smoked salmon so this put me off my food. It was a nice gesture but we just thought it was performative and awkward.
Came here for my husband’s birthday. Usually we do one breakfast here and it’s always been nice! However this year - I had made a note of this was a surprise birthday breakfast for my husband but the server while we were waiting to get seated asked me loud- this is a birthday booking / right? You have written birthday. And I had to say yes. Which spoiled the surprise. Then I had to wait for long for someone to come and take the order. My booking was for 11am so not that the restaurant was crowded that the staff was busy. Then arrived the French toast - usually they do a sparkly candle but this time they brought out a tiny candle and it was disappointing. The seat where we seated had a chewing gum stuck on it- since it was a morning booking and we walked in just when the restaurant opened- I’m guessing the chewing gum was there since the previous night. Overall not a great experience this time!!
I've been here a couple of times now. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me not wanting to visit again. The atmosphere, vibe and decor at the restaurant are very nice. But the staff are not attentive, my party were left waiting to be approached for initial service of drinks, they did not communicate necessary things in good time (brought cake over without indicating beforehand) they took ages between courses so we ended up waiting a long time for our desserts. The food was alright. I enjoyed my starter and dessert, but my main was over cooked and lacking in flavour.
Lovely design, interior and exterior decor is lovely. The lady who greeted us on arrival (we were waiting for the 11am opening) asked if we had a reservation - we did not (nor did other waiting behind us) and we were hastily palmed off into the noisy bar. At 11am the music was booming and was giving us a headache. I had to go back to her and insist she checked if there was space upstairs. To our surprise when she said we could go up, EVERY single table was empty except from 3 of them. Couldn’t believe she tried to force us to dine at the bar at 11AM?! Really felt unwanted and unwelcome. It was a Tuesday for goodness sake. The upstairs remained unoccupied this way for the full 3 hours we were there. Food was tasty, waiters kindly subbed the dairy for coconut ice cream, expensive for brunch but delicious. The unwelcome palming off left a sour taste in all our mouths. Wouldn’t rush back.
Tea & fried chicken wings ordered. Asked 2 different servers for sugar for my tea, the order taker, and the server, which didn't arrive. Asked a third time, and cubes of sugar were provided. Fortunately, I had a packet of my own sugar in my bag and used that as the cubes would have been too large. The wings were well presented but were not freshly made, in my opinion. Enjoyed the ranch dressing. A well stocked bar. Restaurant on the first floor with front desk on entry.
Ok... But: the triple cooked chips were distinctly undercooked (beyond firm in the middle; approaching raw, and not very crunchy either) and one of my two eggs was overcooked (see picture.) There were also only four or five quite small shrimp in the dish. I wouldn’t have even noticed any of this at a lesser price. But this was £24. £24! Brunch for two plus four drinks came to more than £150. At that money, I’m not inclined to forgive even small slips. The dining room was quite busy, which may have been a factor. But again, for that amount of money, I think it has to be perfect, or very close to it. Sadly, it was not. I mentioned these issues to the waiter (I left quite a bit of my food) but was offered no concessions. Drinks, service, and the dining room were all great. Just the food let it down. (We had: lobster bisque / crab cakes / crab cake Benedict / blackened shrimp Benedict / triple cooked chips.)
We visited for brunch on Saturday 13/12/2025 from 12:30 to 14:30 expecting a high-end experience, but the service was disorganised and disappointing from start to finish. Staff did not seem to have assigned tables, which led to constant confusion. Different waitresses interrupted us asking if we had finished dishes we were still eating, and on more than one occasion plates were taken away unfinished and without asking. The worst part of the experience was the behaviour of the blonde waitress at the end. After we had finished and paid a bill of around £300, she approached us and told us in a blunt, rude, and inappropriate manner that we had to leave because another reservation was arriving. There was no politeness, no apology, and no professionalism whatsoever—despite the fact that there were other empty tables available. At least respect that part of our pay is your own salary. If you don’t want to do it anymore, leave the spot for more polite people who want to actually do it in a proper way. Being rushed out in such a disrespectful way after spending that amount of money is unacceptable. Her attitude completely overshadowed the meal and left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I could challenge her on the spot for that behaviour but i respected my guests
We visited Christopher’s today at 4.10pm and asked for a table in the bar for dessert. The lady told us that the kitchen was closed until 5pm and asked us to either sit and have a drink or come back. We said we’ll come back and asked her to reserve a table for us. She said ‘there’s no need, it won’t be busy’. But we asked her to do so anyway. We had guests from out of town who wanted to try the dessert and we needed to leave by a certain time so wanted to be certain we’d get a table. She said that she would put a reserved sign on a table for 5 people. We were ent back at 4.55pm, expecting a reserved table only to be told that there were no tables as they’d gotten unexpectedly busy, apparently they’d had a flurry of online bookings. We asked why she hadn’t reserved our table before this flurry of bookings only to be told it was not possible to book a table an hour prior to the reservation. I asked how the flurry of bookings had come in an hour before the reservation only to be told that it was possible for customers to book online an hour prior, but not possible for her (a member of staff) to reserve one an hour prior. This is the silliest thing I heard all week. I asked why in that case couldn’t she have gotten us a reservation by going online and booking it for us when we asked for a reservation? To be told that well she could have but didn’t. We got a table in the restaurant in the end, but this was really disappointing service.
Terrible experience. Paid £85 deposit weeks ago for their American Thanksgiving menu. Got seated 20 minutes late and saw others waiting much longer. Waited FOREVER for my food and drink after being seated. Food was cold and prepared incorrectly. They advertised ballontine of turkey but served sliced turkey instead. The waitstaff were clearly working hard so I don’t blame them but the place was obviously understaffed and I have no idea what the kitchen was doing. When the bill came I was charged for an extra glass of wine and an extra bottle of water with no indication that I had already paid a deposit. It finally got corrected after 3 tries. The restaurant was jam packed and extremely noisy. I’ll never return.
Stay away until they fix their issues: understaffed...slow service, and food that comes out late and missing sides. We ate here on 11.27 for the american Thanksgiving menu. The staff never stopped moving and worked hard and did their best, but clearly they were understaffed as they could not keep up. Generally slow service, but thats not the issue here. One can accept that, especially when is no rush. When it came time for the main course, one out of our 5 dishes was 8 minutes late. The first four were closer to cold than hot. Three dishes were served without all of the advertised sides. No corn on two dishes no stuffing on one dish. The food was good, but of course no one enjoys it when so much is wrong. Clearly this place cannot handle what they advertise. Management failure! Very very disappointed for a meal that cost a LOT of money.
I was so excited to try this place since it has great Google reviews, but unfortunately, it ended up being our most disappointing meal in London. The eggs benedict had a strange, overly thick and salty sauce, and my egg white omelet with tomato and avocado was basically just plain egg whites. I even added smoked salmon to try to give it some flavor, but it didn’t help much. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this spot. Really disappointing given the hype.
Been waiting for half an hour for my reservation. The bar is packed and they clearly overbooked for thanksgiving. Still waiting….. Update 1: Seated an hour late. Update 2: 25 mins to order and they’re out of the vegetarian starter. There is a non thanksgiving option and honestly, it was fine. Update 3: starters arrived in 22 minutes, not terrible. It was 1:10 hours after finishing our starters for our mains. Our waitress who was very nice did not even realize we were waiting. We asked for our dessert for some of our party to go because it was taking so long. I didn’t even eat my main because it was nearly 10:30 pm. It looked fine. They ended up bringing out all our dessert while we were still eating our mains. That was chaotic. Server - she was lovely and apologetic. I’m sure the experience was horrendous for all involved. I would add that whilst the hosts were clearly overwhelmed, they were not polite and quite sure they forgot about us multiple times when we asked for updates. Really not how we expected to spend our holiday. I hope management takes everyone’s complaints seriously (people were complaining at the restaurant with several walking out before they even got to the meal due to the wait). Safe to say we will never return and would not recommend.
Disappointing Thanksgiving Experience We were very much looking forward to our Thanksgiving reservation, but unfortunately our experience fell far short of expectations. Despite having a confirmed reservation, we were not seated until 45 minutes past our scheduled time, without any explanation or updates. The lack of communication from the front of the house was noticeable, and when we tried to inquire, the staff was unhelpful and notably rude. While waiting, we went to the bar, hoping the experience there would be better, but it wasn’t. The bar waitresses were dismissive, unhelpful, and at times outright rude, making us feel more like an inconvenience than guests. It set a very negative tone for the evening. Once seated, we discovered that the set Thanksgiving menu was missing several options because the restaurant had run out—a surprising and disappointing issue for a planned holiday prix fixe. Throughout the meal, the pacing was extremely slow, with over 45 minutes between courses. After spending more than 3.5 hours in the restaurant with no end in sight, we ultimately skipped dessert and asked for the check. Overall, this dinner was deeply disappointing—marked by poor communication, unprofessional service, long delays, and a lack of preparation for a major holiday service. This is not the experience we expected, and certainly not one we’d return for or recommend.
