Opiniones de The Quilon London
Been coming here since 5 years. Never disappoints. Excellent tasting menu or A La Carte menu. Chef SriRam is excellent along with this team. Very authentic South Indian dishes. Our recent visit Yaseer, Victor Viji and Shantanu were very good in looking after us.
The food is amazing here. Totally recommend it to anyone wanting to try gourmet Indian food. The flavours of every dish are rich and unique. There is an option to order little portions of quite a few things, in case you just want to try stuff. I’ve been here 3 times and every time is as good. Its pricey, but nothing crazy knowing it’s a posh restaurant
We celebrated our anniversary dinner at Quilon in London and were absolutely delighted by the exceptional service and exquisite food. The evening started with a personal touch as Chef Sriram himself came to take our order, making us feel truly special. For appetizers, we chose the Green Pepper Prawns and Kundapur Chicken—both were absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The Rasam served before the main course was another highlight—warming, comforting, and full of aromatic spices. For our main course, we enjoyed the Masala Prawns with Tawa Paratha—a perfect combination of spices and textures. Each dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. A special mention to our waitress, Harshita, who provided phenomenal service throughout the evening. Her attentiveness and warm hospitality made our night even more special. As a sweet surprise, we were treated to a complimentary anniversary dessert that added the perfect finishing touch to an already delightful evening. Thank you, Chef Sriram, Harshita, and the entire Quilon team for making our anniversary celebration so memorable. We look forward to returning soon!
We walked in and was lucky to get a table. We choose to go with A-La-Carte option as we are vegetarian and not the set menu which is available for Sea Food, Non-Veg and Veg. Everything we ordered, was authentic testing and delicious. Service at this place is same as any other Taj property and it is absolutely the best. I have never found anyone with better service than Taj. The Hot and Spicy warm Rassam they bring in between is so good you may not stop after just one. A must visit place if you are around London.
I always have the best dinners here. Service is always immaculate. The Fish Curry and lemon rice is my favourite meal.
Absolutely delicious spot for South Indian food in an elegant setting with excellent service - we had the set lunch menu (had one each of the vegetarian, pescatarian and meat) and each dish on each menu was absolutely divine. Lovely cocktails, drinks and wine list. Friendly staff, the chef was walking past each table and we had a great chat. Will definitely be back!
Excellent service. The tasting menu with the wine pairing is an excellent choice .
We had the seafood tasting menu at Quilon, and it was absolutely wonderful! The flavors were exquisite, and each dish was beautifully presented. The service was attentive and elevated the overall experience. The only slight letdown was the dessert, which didn’t quite match the exceptional standard of the rest of the menu. Nevertheless, a memorable dining experience, and we’ll definitely be back to explore more of their offerings. Highly recommended for seafood lovers!
What an amazing experience! The food is absolutely delicious, the Biryani is out of this world ! I never tasted a Biryani as good as the one I had in Quilon, the only thing was, I found the lamb a bit dry by the rice just simply amazing! The rest of the food was superb, I had the Crab cake as a starter and it was really delicious, I tried the Black Cod and Scallops from my colleagues and there were cook to perfection and very fresh Staff are very attentive and professional it was a great experience and I would definitely be coming back!
We first read about Quilon a couple of years ago as they offered a tasting menu accompanied with beer instead of wine which sounded interesting. We finally got round to visiting and were not disappointed. After an excellent cocktail each in the bar (the Qojito is amazing) we took our seats in the restaurant and chose the seafood tasting menu to eat. The beer option didn't seem to be there so we went for a bottle of white wine to go with the seafood. From the fantastic poppadoms and chutneys to the delicious desserts the food was all tremendous. Particular standouts were the scallop and the black cod, however all the food was top notch. The portions didn't look small but they were very filling and we certainly didn't come out feeling hungry. Great food, excellent service and reasonable value - it's fair to say our experience at Quilon was worth the wait.
The food was really good, but the presentation was even better. The mini masala dosas were delightful and packed with flavours; however, the real MVPs were the chutneys that came with it. I really enjoyed their cocktail “Botanical Garden”. I found it complimented the every course rather beautifully. The asparagus, beans and edamame was good, but forgetful. It provided a balanced flavour among all the other items ordered, but I’d recommend you skip this item. What you must absolutely get is the Southern s-a-a-t— these crispy idlis had the perfect crunch, topped with tangy and spicy chutneys with ginger balancing the spice in every bite. Amazing. The staff was lovely, and the service was excellent. The most memorable bit was receiving a printed photo from the staff! I do think it’s still missing the ambience you’d expect, especially with the harsh overhead lights. Introducing softer yellow lights would make it much more comfortable.
AFFORDABLE LUXURY Michelin-starred brunch YOU MUST TRY 🌟 Quilon: An Exceptional Gastronomic Experience 🌟 Located in the heart of London, Quilon is a true haven for Indian cuisine enthusiasts. I had the pleasure of trying their brunch, served every Saturday and Sunday and I was absolutely delighted. 🍽️ A Dream Brunch The Quilon brunch is a feast for the senses. Served at the table, it features an array of exceptional dishes created by their talented chefs. The cuisine is South-West coastal Indian, with a Michelin star to its name. 🍹 Cocktails and Delights The cocktails are a must-try: the Qojito with green chili-infused vodka and the Closer to the Edge with tequila and house-infused spices were my favourites. As for the food, I sampled both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian brunch menus. My highlights? The kosambari in a watermelon cup, herb-crusted seatrout, mini shrimp dosa, Malabar lamb curry, paneer, and tempered asparagus. I even asked for seconds of the best paratha I’ve ever tasted! For dessert, the almond and berries roulade stole the show. And let’s not forget the masala chai—the best I’ve ever had, even compared to my trips to India! 🌐 Ambiance and Service The service is impeccable: cheerful and well-prepared waitstaff make the experience even more enjoyable. The location itself is fantastic, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. In summary, Quilon is a culinary gem that deserves a visit. I can’t wait to go back! 🌟
We booked Quilon for our son's birthday lunch. We were told that the menu would be a set menu but we were not disappointed. The service was top class and the food spread was quite good. The affair was mostly South Indian and tasted authentic. Giving 4 stars for the atmosphere as I expected a bit more from a Michelin Star restaurant, but the food and service were top notch and hence 5 stars for them.
Absoluy amazing Indian food. The drinks, the food, the service were all first class.
Lovely dinner experience with great service and delicious Indian cuisine. We stumbled on this restaurant by researching our hotel (Conrad St. James) that we stayed nearby. It so happens that a reservation was available for our final night in the city and we're so glad we decided to dine herem The ambiance is modern, elegant and inviting with lots of seating available. We were looked after by a very nice server and team, who were genuinely warm and welcoming. The menu was explained well and we ended up choosing the sea food tasting menu for the evening. As this restaurant specializes in sea food, it was agreat choice. The food was truly delicious, all courses expertly crafted and prepared. Very impressive, even my wife who typically does not like Indian food, absolutely loved it! We ended up not doing the wine pairing, but sampled some of their cocktails instead. They were very good, especially one called Indian lady. The delicious desert was also part of the course which was enhanced by a special birthday slice for my birthday celebration. Overall, this restaurant is outstanding, definitely up there with some of the best I've been fortunate to dine in. 5/5 Highly recommended.
The place is stunning. Staff is very nice. We went there for a birthday celebration and really enjoyed the meals. Some vegetarian dishes can look a bit the same, but overall, they are very tasty, very well seasoned, and beautifully presented.
I felt as though I was in some paradise landscape in Kerala or near the Indian coast with the absolutely delectable smells and tastes of some of the best regional Indian food I've ever had. This Michelin star gem will not disappoint and everytime I've been here it has been superb in food, service and ambience. I find the restaurant very refined in all ways especially the other patrons who are far more civilised than the guffawers in other high end establishment plus Quilon are way more generous in their servings and palate cleansers as well as wonderful value for money Don't delay book now and treat yourself!
Cocktails 10/10, Starters 10/10, Main course / desert 7/10. The cocktails were outstanding and well presented. Same goes for the starters and they served them on a per person plate basis rather than to share which was also great. The mains (vegetarian choices) are okay with some dishes being better than others. The jackfruit biryani isn't anything memorable and honestly I've had better. The more south Indian orientated dishes such as the mango curry were definitely much more impressive so would recommend choosing those. Overall the service was good. The decor is more traditional inside and can at times feel a bit gloomy when it is quiet. However the main suggestion would be to have some background music or ambient sound as when we went it was not very busy and so felt awkwardly quiet to sit there in silence. Would recommend for the food and drink if you are looking for elevated south Indian food to Michelin standard. Decent choice for vegetarians too.
This was my first time dining in a Michelin Star restaurant. We stayed at the Taj hotel and made time to have dinner here, and it was well worth it. My wife had the lamb chop and I had the shrimp curry on their recommendation, and we were not disappointed. My daughter had a beautiful kids meal specially prepared with chicken, rice and vegetables, and the staff insisted we stay for dessert so they could present us with this complementary anniversary fruit tart which was also outstanding and much appreciated.
A South India themed restaurant. We visited for lunch which had set menu. We went for vegetarian menu and were not disappointed. Great preparation and taste. Staff is friendly and restaurant has warm and inviting atmosphere. Although, the price is at higher end but definitely justified by tasty food.
We came here for the Christmas' Eve to drink something. I had a frozen mango margarita and my husband a qojito; both drinks were really amazing and the staff is very polite and nice. Update: Today we came for dinner. We had the seafood tasting menu and it was amazing. I asked for not so much spicy food and they made it less spicy just for me. The restaurant staff were also very nice and polite, very careful about the guests' needs.
If you are near Buckingham palace, this restaurant is a must visit. Yards away from Victoria station, Try their weekend brunch which is available on Saturday and Sunday. It is a priced at £48 pp. For 5 very authentic and creative courses. Each course was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We were very full at the end of it. Just the dessert could have had a choice we felt. It was still very good but another option would have made it even more memorable. Service was impeccable. Ambience was calming with subtle Indian instrumental music transporting you to the wonderful Kerala. There is adequate space between tables to enable you enough privacy. Service is efficient and attentive without intruding your personal space. There is no additional charge whatsoever added to the final bill, so no hidden costs like other restaurants. The icing on the cake was to see the celebrity head chef Mr. Sriram Aylur, whose over 20 years of hard work here has earned them a Michelin star. It is also ideal to celebrate a special occasion such as birthday or anniversary. It is now my favourite restaurant in London, I preferred it to Banaras and Gymkhana. But is neck to neck with Jamavar. Go for it. It is owned by a highly prestigious five star Indian restaurant chain, Taj Hotels. They have a Taj hotel right next to it. This is Taj’s second restaurant in London, they also have Bombay Brasserie, which is also awesome. I don’t understand some poor reviews, if this is not for you, I don’t know what can please you! Highly recommended.
Throughout the time, the service was superb, and the staff was courteous and attentive. Nikita was primarily responsible for our table, which was excellent. The food quality was superb, as Ragbir explained each time the dish was given to the table. The lamb curry was fiery. Perhaps it could have been forewarned. We paid £385 for a non-vegetarian tasting meal for four people and a bottle of wine. It would be beneficial if staff members could wear name badge
Some of the best food I’ve ever had! They also make incredible cocktails! Very friendly and informative staff! If you’ve never had southern Indian(specifically the seafood) this place is definitely worth a try! I could eat here for the rest of my life!
Stuff is excellent food was great needs to be more spicy though
I cannot say enough amazing things about this restaurant. This is one of the very few Indian restaurants you’re fine that is a Michelin star take on South Indian cuisine from the state of Kerala. Many of the dishes I’ve enjoyed eating at home was presented here in a refined, upscale manner full of flavor respectably, representing the traditions of Kerala cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant when in London.
High end innovative and unusual Indian cuisine. Staff is very courteous and friendly, the atmosphere is elegant, and the food very good. We tried the sampler and had a very good experience. The prawns were excellent and the baked bass was super. Overall a great memorable, evening.
Creative and traditional dishes were enjoyed from their weekend brunch menu. Warmly delivered by Santanu, Stella and team in a comfortable and welcoming environment. One to repeat as their menu changes.
My girlfriend and I did our research and booked dinner at The Quilon for our vacation. It was the thing I was looking most forward to on our recent London trip. The night before our dinner reservation, I got quite sick, and I was concerned that I would not be able to eat and enjoy such a high quality meal. I spent the whole day taking care of myself, with the singular goal of being able to go and enjoy this dinner.By the evening, I was feeling better, and we decided to keep our reservation. From the moment we walked in, we were treated to the highest level of service. My girlfriend had a signature gin cocktail and I had the non-alcoholic Mint Swing. The server recommended a couple of appetizers and we got the mini dosa and the vermicelli crab cake, both of which were outstanding. For our mains, we shared the prawn masala and the aubergine, along with rice and bread. In short, this entire dining experience absolutely delivered! Our high expectations were met and exceeded. The service across the board was absolutely outstanding! And without close comparison, this was the very best Indian food either of us had ever had. It's a meal we will be talking about for some time.
Absolutely amazing! The service was impeccable and the fact that they top up each dish was amazing. So tasty. And this is coming from something that lives for food and has tasted everything under the sun. I will definitely be coming again. We did have the set menu - only thing was I prefer hot puddings and not ice-cream and this bit was a little disappointing to leave it all. But I was stuffed from the mean anyway that it didn't affect my mood (luckily)
My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday and his recent graduation today. He’s tasted Quillon food whilst working as a waiter during his undergraduate degree over 10 years ago and has always mentioned it’s been on his bucket list since. I was skeptical about fine dining South Indian food but I was pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. The ambience is stunning with wonderful interior decor, lighting and our favourite feature was the music selection of very soft Caranartic instrumentals. The Diwali vegetarian weekend brunch menu was exciting and I really enjoyed the starters. The curries provided during the mains were a bit too creamy and lacked spice for my liking but we did order some additional meat dishes including the lamp chops, a prawn starter and lamb shank varuntha curry which complemented the brunch and the meat was of excellent quality. There’s a very extensive wine menu and the lychee cocktail was lovely. Above all I was most impressed with the service. The staff were so polite and attentive and when I got too full kindly packed our food away. Whilst my husband loved all the food, I would personally go back for the service and ambiance which I feel made the experience most special.
Quilon came highly recommended and hence had to stop here. Sundays they have brunch menu which is a set menu and no à la carte. The booking system wasn’t clear about this until I made the booking hence putting it here in case you plan to visit on a Sunday . The place was warm and had beautiful classical music 🎶 in the background . Here is the pics of what we ate . I don’t eat red meat so they sent me a chicken dish instead which was awful . The chef decided to put 2 pieces of boiled chicken in a fish masala kind of gravy and it was awful to the foodie in me that too a malayalee . Note to you- if you are there please ask them to replace with a specific veg dish from the menu so they don’t experiment and ruin a dish. Finally dessert was disappointing as there was no Indian element in a pasty though they added cardamom. There are so many desserts in South India
We had an excellent dinner at Quilon, near St. James’s Park. Service was warm, attentive, and polished throughout, which made the evening feel special. We started with cocktails — I chose the Last Sting (watermelon, Reposado tequila, jalapeño), a small but flavorful mix with just the right kick, while my husband had the Maple Oak (bourbon, maple syrup, bitters, smoky orange zest), a refined twist on a classic. They also served a complimentary warm glass of rasam, tangy and spiced, which set the tone beautifully. For food, we had the Chickpeas Masala (Malabar-style), Okra Pearl Onion Masala, Malabar Parathas, and a dry vegetable of asparagus, mange tout, and tenderstem purple broccoli. The asparagus dish felt slightly out of place alongside the other plates since it didn’t reflect Malabari flavors, but it was beautifully prepared and delicate. The other dishes carried the hallmarks of South-West coastal Indian cooking — curry leaves, coconut, and mustard seed — presented with finesse. Portions were on the smaller side, but balanced and satisfying. Quilon has held a Michelin star since 2008, and it’s easy to see why. The food is distinctive, the drinks are thoughtful, and the service makes you feel looked after even on a busy night. A fantastic experience all around.
The food was amazing, authentic yet creative and delicious, service could be improved as some of the staff were a little on the back foot. Atmosphere was not up to the standard, dark when it was nice and sunny outside, no music at all and we were seated deep inside a dark nook when the restaurant was empty!
Quilon has a lot going for it - a Michelin star, great service, excellent food that allows its patrons to explore novel dishes that draw inspiration from coastal south Indian cuisine. However, the only reason I'm docking a star is that this place needs a bit of an overhaul. The ambience feels dated and is unimpressive, the attention to detail is lacking (our drab white dining table cloth had stains from a previous meal, there were fingerprint stains on the wall). Overall, it feels like the place is in serious need of renovations. Nonetheless, the team is doing an excellent job with the food and the service, and that is something I greatly appreciated. Would recommend visiting for the food!
We were greeted well, with the waitress taking our coats and showing us to our reserved table. My family and I got the vegetarian taster menu and a few cocktails. The food is very low risk with basic tastes. Hardly any spice and even dishes where you may feel they could make it more sour or add a tangy kick it never came. The cocktail was not very strong either. Service was friendly and explained the dishes but we're not very attentive in refilling water. Overall for £60 to £70 per head I'd recommend saving your money and going to a nicer restaurant in Mayfair. Weighing up the price and standard of food it was not worth it.
Quilon is located right next to Taj & is a Michelin Star restaurant. We ordered mini dosa, Broccoli & spinach gallette, rasam, spinach poriyal, chickpeas masala & jackfruit biryani. I personally really liked the rasam & the spinach gallette. The portion sizes are pretty less for the pricing though. Service is exceptional & the atmosphere also boasts of fine dine. Worth trying once but its nothing out of the box.
Restaurant: Great ambience, clean toilets. Service: exceptionally good service. Food: portions are small for the price. The complimentary papad and rasam were really good and adds that surprise package to what restaurant has to offer. Starters: mini masala Dosa was good. It was just decent Dosa. Sambar was not great. Very mild and could have been little spicy. Southern saat was exceptional. Broccoli and spinach gallette was slightly oily but tasted really good. Main: Tava parathas were really good with lots of layers. Mango curry is a must have. As a south Indian myself, I must say this is the must have in this restaurant. Cottage cheese and colored peppers was decent. I was particularly disappointed with the use of basmati rice in both tomato and lemon rice given that south Indian rice recipes do not call for flavoured rice. Lemon rice very tangy. Tomato rice was much better with flavours balanced. Drinks: we tried multiple drinks qojito and frozen mango margarita. Both drinks failed to capture any essence of south India for me. But they were decent nevertheless. Dessert: We had room for very less dessert so we ordered only one baked yoghurt. It was so good that we ended up ordering another one. It comes with three flavours: mango, lychee and jaggery. Jaggery one is ultimate. Overall the food is really good though the portions could have been better for the premium price.
Was good food, unique style and presentation. Sambar came in a little cocktail glass, unique. Saat, a South Indian chaat with fried little idli’s. Had a thaali which was decent, but normal presentation. Overall neat place. Service was lacking. Staff wasn’t able to understand me fully or my questions, where they had to bring in another staff member who was very helpful. Love that the staff is from Kerala, true to the restaurant’s roots, but better communication would be nice.
Food: Excellent food, there were very good vegetarian options. Service: Service was mixed - some of the staff members were extremely kind and helpful, while a few were rather cold. Atmosphere: The ambiance of the restaurant was very good. The noise level in our seating area was rather high though.
The service was impeccable. I am vegan sugar free and they adapted so well to my diet. They were incredibly thoughtful. The channa masala was so good although the aubergine with mint sauce was slightly bland (maybe because they catered it to a vegan diet so don’t fully take my word for it ;)) I would come again and ask for more spice
I recently dined at Quilon, a Michelin-starred South Indian restaurant, located near Buckingham Gate. While the reputation has raised my expectations, the overall experience was somewhat mixed. * Food Quality & Presentation: Being a vegetarian, I was keen to try their plant-based offerings, but unfortunately, I found the flavours mild and the spices typically associated with South Indian cuisine were underwhelming. I believe they did tone down their dishes in an attempt to appeal to a broader audience, but the result was a bit bland. In Beverages, they have a fairly extensive wine and cocktail list, though the non-alcoholic choices were limited. * Ambiance and Setting: The ambience was one of its strongest points. The interior was elegant with soft lighting and sophisticated vibe. * Service and Pricing: Service was highly courteous and professional. Their staff were knowledgeable about the menu and made us good vegetarian recommendations. As expected for a Michelin-starred venue, pricing is on the higher side. But for my vegetarian experience, the value didn’t quite match the cost. * Cleanliness & Hygiene: The restaurant was spotless, from the dining area to the restrooms. Cleanliness and attention to detail were clearly prioritized. Overall, it does offer a refined setting and solid service, but for the vegetarians looking for authentic South Indian flavours, it might disappoint.
We had an evening with friends at Quilon. Happy with a couple of dishes. Service was good. Could have been better. We were served a couple of dishes complimentary. However that could not make up for the mistakes made with appetizers and main course. The fish and shrimp for appetizers were overcooked. We had the mango fish curry and the gravy lacked flavor. The fried okra was done well, however was missing salt and/or seasoning. The Lamb shank was undercooked. Desserts was good. Chicken pepper was excellent. Cocktails were excellent. I will be back but would stick to finger foods and cocktails at the bar.
I’ve dined at over 20 Michelin starred restaurants and this one is the worst of them. Food was served while I was away to the washroom. The only drinks We ordered was one sparkling water and one distilled and they could still the mistake by giving us only distilled water. The presentation of dishes was dull and the taste was lack of excitement. However, £50-60 for lunch is rather cheap for the whole package.
Really disappointing experience. Very limited vegetarian selection, and what they did have was disappointing. We loved the asparagus, beans and edamame, but it's not a main (it's a cold salad with those three things - even though it's listed under main). Mango curry was nice but bland. Malabar paratha was excellent. "Mini dosa" was also tasty but quite mini, and we had to ask for chutney. High tab despite the underwhelming food. Service was nice but the place felt pretentious. Much better quality, atmosphere and price for Indian in other places.
The food was not bad but not as complex as the northern Indian cuisines, in fact flavours of different dishes were not a whole lot of different. The lemon rice was a surprise whereby it tasted fresh & intriguing, but overshadowed by spicy sauces. Dish portions were rather small & fairly expensive. Services had been good.
I’ve visited Quilon in the past and really enjoyed the food back then, but unfortunately, my recent visit was disappointing. The current menu didn’t appeal to me, and the chicken curry, in particular, wasn’t very nice. While the staff were welcoming and attentive, I found the restaurant to be overpriced, even considering its Michelin star status. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I don’t think I’ll be returning. There are other Indian restaurants that offer better food for better value.
The overall experience was very average, which isn’t a bad thing… aside from the fact that is Michelin rated and alleged fine dining. Had to wait 15 minutes despite having reserved a table, and had to frequently ask for things repeatedly. Aside from that, wait staff were very friendly and the food came out rather fast. Food was good, certainly not the most authentic but decently tasty. Overall not great value for money, but interesting experience.
My husband and I had mixed feelings about our visit to Quilon. We tried the Non-vegetarian tasting menu. On one had we loved the duck roast, the lamb curry and artichokes! Also thank you for the anniversary cake at the end. It was a sweet gesture which we really appreciated. On the other hand, I was not impressed with the service and overall experience due to following three points: 1) My duck roast had two mustard dips while my husband’s duck roast came with one mustard and other green chutney dip. 2) the glasses in which we were served rasam were not clean. We had to wipe the glass base in order to be able to hold the drink without getting our hands dirty. The server also didn’t explain us what she brought. After looking at our confused faces she just asked “it’s Rasam , you know what it is right?” 3) I had a hair on the bottom of my red velvet cake! See attached photos. The manager was very kind. He apologized and waived off 20 pounds from the total bill to compensate. We had come to Quilon expecting much better quality. Due to this experience, we’ve been offered a 25% discount voucher for next dining experience but I’m not sure if I wanna go back! Will definitely edit my review in case we go back.
We visited Quilon on 2 October 2025 and sadly had a very disappointing experience. The tasting menu was inconsistent — some dishes fine, others overcooked — and the wine pairing was poor in both quality and presentation. Service felt uncoordinated and impersonal. I raised these issues directly with the restaurant and waited over a week for any reply. When I finally spoke to a manager, the focus was on offering a food discount instead of addressing the concerns. This review reflects my honest experience. Having dined at many Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, I found both the food and the handling of feedback far below expectation.
