Generous portion sizes and huge selection of meals. Service from our waitress, Abi, was phenomenal and the atmosphere is awesome! If you're looking for a relaxed place to enjoy some seafood with Mexican twist, this is your place!
Really good portions if you can handle it....I couldn't. Had to take some home for the next day. The Dips, really good! Jalapeno Ranch, Salsa, etc. A little spicy. Mexi-Cajun. Whoever thought of that? BUT! They have a lot of other stuff that our non-seafood friends would like. Service was really good from our waiter. Enjoyed, and will go back again.
For the appetizer we had Dip sampler and added queso. Wasn't a fan of the queso. My dish was amazing. I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits was on a bed of squash zucchini onion and red bellpepper. The Next time I will ask them to hold the veggies and double the grits. I didn't like it as one bite. My fiance had catfish shrimp and fries. I must say was delicious. We both had a sweet tea which needed help...lmao..I believe we spent about $70insh included tip. PRICEY. Only downer you can't order to go. You have to go in and sit down at a table or bar order and pack it to go. Atleasy that's what we was told.
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere, parking was good. The only thing wrong was the tea was really watered down. I would definitely like to go back.
After a huge reservation mixup, Rodney The Manager stepped in for our party of 30 and we got very well taken care of on a very special day celebrating my dad being alive. Rodney went above and beyond, even calling in extra staff. Thank you, Tia Juanita‘s for always being accommodating, professional, and amazing!
We went for lunch on Saturday. The service was great and the food was excellent. I had the seafood quesadillas and my friend had the fish and shrimp combo. The seafood gumbo was really good as well. This is just a very cool place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere. We will be going back!
I went and the food was delicious!!! RaeAn was our server and she was awesome!!! 10/10 recommend and we will be back!!!
Attended a 40 year wedding reception with friends. We had the back room which was great. Abby was one of our servers, and she was fantastic.
Just WOW! Busy place and they still got us in and out in 45 minutes on a Friday lunch! Megan was TERRIFIC! It was our first time so we had a few questions and Megan knew her menu! And she was extremely attentive...we wanted for nothing. The food, gosh, what can I say that you haven't heard B4? Oh, I know....I not much into fish...it's usually kinda smelly and strong for me. I'm kinda shocked that I ordered the Blackened Redfish Pontchartrain but the menu IS full of seafood 😉. This meal was utterly amazing! It had a sauce on it that complimented the fish To A T! And that pico..mango, pineapple concoction was the best fish enhancer ever. Hubs got the Shrimp Brochette. He liked it. He enjoyed the whole meal but I don't think he liked it as much as I liked mine. I can say that his meal's presentation was terrific. Hubs is the type of guy that orders the SAME thing every time and only goes to the SAME restaurants over and over. So, another testament to Tia Juanita's was that he actually said he'd like to try a few more things on the menu!! We will return! Just visited for the 2nd time. Another great experience. If Hunter recommends it, go with it! 💞
Was met at door with a smile. Got a table immediately. Place was super clean. Atmosphere was awesome, everyone was friendly and look happy. Now, the oysters on the half was fresh, not scooped out of a can and put on a shell. They were fresh shucked and so damn good. I got the Backened Redfish with Mushroom Cream sauce. Let me tell you something, I use to get this in NOLA all the time, and thought I was back in NOLA. The best I have had in a long time. If you haven't been there, you need to go. 10 out of 10 with this place.
Pretty good place! We got the oysters on a half shell, hush puppies, seafood enchiladas, gumbo, and bread pudding. The hush puppies and bread pudding were phenomenal!! The seafood enchiladas were delicious, but we’ve had better gumbo at other places, so I would say pass on that. Overall, we had a good experience and look forward to trying more of their food options.
Ti Juanita's in Longview, Texas, is an absolute gem! Our group, which included people from all over the United States and Canada, had the pleasure of dining here, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jacob and Sherry took incredible care of us, ensuring that our evening was nothing short of perfect. The hospitality was warm and inviting, making everyone feel right at home. The food was outstanding. It’s clear that the team at Ti Juanita's takes pride in what they serve. If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience with a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend Ti Juanita's. We left with full bellies and happy hearts! Thank you, Jacob and Sherry, for making our gathering so memorable!
I had the Shrimp Brochette, and my friend had the seafood enchiladas. Both dishes were really impressive. The shrimp were great, the grits were fab. I rarely eat my veggies, but every bite was so delish, I cleaned my plate. We had to try the sopapilla cheesecake.. Also didn't disappoint.
We had a celebration at Tia Juanita’s yesterday with 30 people and there was a mix up on us coming. Rodney, the manager, scrambled fast and called in extra servers and got us seated quickly! The service was perfect, the food was great, as always! Our celebration was perfect with the help of these great people! We will always recommend them! Thank y’all again for everything!
Madison Rankin is the best server/bartender ever! She was so nice and well spoken and very attentive. My drink was never empty and she gave some good recommendations for the food. I personally like the seafood enchiladas. She made sure to check up on me to make sure the food was just right. Which it was 😊. Will definitely be back and ask for her. What a spectacular server!
Rodney, Thank you so much for the exceptional service and incredible food for the 2024 C. Miller Drilling Company Christmas Party. Hosting 75 people is no small feat, but you and the entire Longview Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp crew truly hit a home run! Everyone was raving about the food, and it made the event extra special. Please extend my gratitude to Jacob, Madison, Eric, Joseph, and yourself for making it all happen. You all went above and beyond, and it did not go unnoticed. I’ll definitely be keeping you all in mind for future events. If there’s anything I can do to return the favor, don’t hesitate to reach out. Thanks again for helping make this event a success! Wishing you a great year to come, Keith Bounds Peters Chevrolet
I don’t usually like busy restaurants but this was a nice change and our waitress was too cute! Rayven was very attentive and helpful in all respects.
Great food and service. Our food server was very hospitable and friendly! This was my 2nd time to eat at Tia Juanita's. 1st one was in Athens.
Tia Juanita's Fish Camp - Longview I want to review this new restaurant! New to Longview, but they evidently have a LARGER one in Henderson, this place was PACKED. There is so much to look at, and they were so nice during our entire meal. There were no sparky hostesses, and one gentleman even helped me find the business name to tag on Facebook. I was unable to check in to help them or review them, but word of mouth from an actual person typically does more anyway! The food portions were huge! I highly suggest sharing plates lol, we brought home practically full plates because we got stuffed on questo salsa, and chips. The jalapeño ranch salsa/dip OMG was so good. I got the fried fish tacos and it was perfection. The plate was beautiful, fish was crisp, perfect size, If they had options I didnt see it, I would have only ordered 2, 3 was too much, but I just ordered and didn't look at the menu. The charro beans could have had less fatty bits in it and could have had more flavor. It was a little bland compared to everything else. Now that IS a side, but sides should have flavor as well. The atmosphere was very lively and welcoming. Our waiter, Sev? Was very funny, friendly, helpful, and even asked who had never dined here before. He made sure to ask as we left to leaved a review. No stone left unturned in my opinion as Tia Juanitas Fish Camp expands to Longview.
This place is absolutely excellent! Very big building, perfect for any kind of Celebration. Very good atmosphere, waitresses and waiters very attentive, vary on top of taking care of the customers. Drinks from the bar come quite quickly even if the restaurant is packed. If you're looking for absolutely amazing food a great environment and somewhere to take the whole family, a date, anything, come to Tia Juanitas's Fish Camp! Also vist Abbeh the waitress and she will take care of you phenomenally!!
My husband and I dined at Tia Juanitas Fish Camp in Longview in Valentine's Day. There was a 30 minute wait that we enjoyed! The wonderful decor, the live music and the aroma! Our server was Trey/The Ginger. Perfection! Ask for him! We had the stuffed mushrooms first. SMOTHERED in mozzarella! Yum! Salads come with most of the meals. Generous salad! Then our main course. I had the delicious New Orleans BBQ shrimp. Very good! Not too spicy. With rice and toast. More than I could eat. My husband had the Bacon Wrapped shrimp with jalapeno grit and grilled veggies. Grits were FANTASTIC! Grilled veggies were nicely seasoned and perfectly grilled. The shrimp looked great...he wouldn't share those. Our server Trey was so helpful and knowledgeable about the food. Can't wait to go back!
The food is always great. My spouse and I love coming here for dinner. Trinity is a great server. Very attentive.
I had dinner here with my son for the first time last weekend. He is a picky eater, and I typically dread trying new places. I have to say- our server Bridget genuinely made this the best dining experience we’ve had in years. She guided us through the menu and made it an excellent experience overall. I can not rave about her service enough! Tia’s struck GOLD with this server!! Will be returning!
Some of the best seafood in town! My husband ordered the gator tacos and they were the best gator he had ever had. Not chewy and marinated and flavored wonderfully. The ahi tuna steak was cooked to perfection and paired with the mango salad brought all the flavors together. The blackened redfish and cream sauce were a show stopper! The fish was fresh and flaky and there were just enough spices to get you excited for the next bite. Don't forget to try the gumbo! We had both the seafood and chicken. Both were great but the sausage in the chicken gumbo was outstanding. We can't wait to go back again and try the Po boy sandwiches. #GoogleGal
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Longview, Tx! The fun atmosphere and live music entertainment makes this our go to restaurant for date night, family dinners & they even have a private event room that we are planning to use for our next birthday dinner! I love their bread bowl and the oysters Jaunita!! The menu has so many options for everyone! We love tias and can’t wait to go back again soon!
Simply a great place to eat with family and friends! Love the combined Texas and Louisiana feel of this place with all signage and the menu. Although busy the afternoon we went, we still were promptly seated for two👍. Really great food all around but we tried their signature Seafood Enchiladas and blackened redfish. Our appetizers included their boudin balls and seafood gumbo. Megan took very good care of us with a genuine smile and very attentive. We look forward to returning again soon with friends, Aye!
We were driving through town on our way to Jefferson and my husband wanted to give this place a try. Wow! SOOOO glad we stopped. It was delicious!! Our waiter was the best one we have had in a very long time. Since it was our first time eating there he gave us recommendations and he did not steer us wrong! Try the seafood enchiladas. Man were they amazing! Do not miss this place. You won't be sorry.
Fun place to eat with great atmosphere. Very lively. Food was interesting blend of Tex-Mex and Cajun. Shrimp Fajitas were great with generous portions. Adult beverages available on their drink menu. Live singer was performing during visit. Restaurant has an awesome logo. Will probably have to get a logo T-shirt on my next visit.
Absolutely love this space! One of me and my spouses favorite date night spot! Highly recommend asking for Trinity as your server. SO SO sweet, SO SO attentive, and a great attitude. You can tell she enjoys her job. :)
The atmosphere was vibrant and lively which I was looking for after a day of meetings. Our server, Chasity, was spot on, recommending a half margarita and sangria cocktail with a rim of Tanjin, flavorful . My fried fish was juicy and delicious, I asked for malt vinegar and she said that they didn’t carry it. I said no problem any type vinegar would work, she took the extra effort and went into the kitchen and found some white vinegar for me. So glad I ended my visit to Longview here!
We went for dinner for the first time last night. Anthony was absolutely wonderful!!! The place was spacious with a great vibe!! We ordered gator bites and raw oysters. Wish the gator was a consistent size but the flavor was there. The oysters were large and really enjoyed them. I ordered the seafood enchiladas and they were great!!! The charro beans were bland to me as well as the seafood gumbo. Husband ordered the blackened gator tacos and he really enjoyed them. Saved room to try the sopapilla cheese cake and the bread pudding, both were perfect!!! We definitely will be back to try other items!!! OH! To the gentleman wearing glasses and making sure our table was clear of finished items, you made our night too! You are a sweetheart!!
This was my first time to visit - it was lunch & things were super busy, but my food was served quickly, and it was delicious. The salmon was perfect, and the strawberry cheesecake was very different - much better than I expected. Madison was my server & she made me feel extra special!
Food and atmosphere were great. Prices were good. Paige was very attentive and friendly. We’ll be back for sure.
Service never disappoints! Tonight, Abbeh was our server. She was attentive without being intrusive and incredibly friendly. Our food was fantastic, too. We took advantage of the happy hour drinks, chips and salsa, and nachos. We also ordered the grilled and blackened fish. Delicious! We highly recommend giving them a shot if you haven't.
This place is so good! The service was great! The food was amazing. I got the fish and shrimp with Fry's. The fish was perfect and the shrimp was nice and crispy. I also got a cup of gumbo, which was delicious. Some of the best in the area. As well as the boudin balls. I'm a sucker for boudin and this topped the list! The crawfish queso is to die for! It's definitely a must! The place is a must try! You will be going back for more!
Went there to see Doc Peterson speak and had no plans of eating. The parking lot smelled so good and when I walked in I wasn't sure if I was in a Tex Mex place or a Cajun Restaurant because of the name. Wow, the menu was crazy with so many choices. I chose a bowl of Gumbo, incredible, smokey, needed cornbread instead of crackers but I didn't ask....it's a little drive for me from Tyler but I can't wait to go back. Every dish served on neighboring tables looked incredible. I can imagine that the place is lively in the evenings and will probably have a wait. I was there at lunch and went straight to the event but I really like the atmosphere. I didn't give it 5 starts only because of the structured event. When I go under a normal situation I expect 5 stars.
My wife and I dined here for lunch earlier this morning. The seafood enchiladas were made to perfection and my wife’s Shrimp and grits was the best dish we tasted there. The portions are enough to the point where you won’t even have to cook dinner!! Our server Zoe was so incredibly nice and very attentive with us especially when we told her my about my wife’s allergies. She gave us the best service we ever had when dining there.
Had lunch here today. Our server was Lanie. Very observant, but not intrusive. Which we appreciate servers that leave us alone long enough to eat. Had boudin balls, fried tomato's. Both were good and came with nice dipping sauce. The wife ordered half po'boy shrimp with cup gumbo. I ordered blackened redfish ponchatrain. The gumbo seemed over browned, the sandwich athough half-size was massive. The boudin was cooked just right, with a milder flavor and pretty good. The tomato's could have better seasons but also pretty good. The blackened redfish was seriously delish. The portion was an entire fillet the size of the plate. The sauce was fabulous. Well worth a second visit for more. A definate return trip ahead. Return trips helped to provide photos of other dishes we ate.
How cool is this place? The outside looks fun a quirky which is exactly what I want in a fun place to eat. But then you walk inside!!! It's amazing! The service was fantastic and I even tried a boudin ball for the first time which was so damn good I wish I could have ordered a half dozen. I also had the blackened ahi tuna and it was fabulous as well. The price was so nice for the amount of food you get. I literally spent more on lunch yesterday for a "gourmet burger". If I lived around here I would just hang out at this place. Check it out for yourself.
I didn't know there's live music on Saturday night and everything changes, this gives you such an amazing feeling like you're not even in Longview anymore but you are! The food was extraordinary well cooked and so yummy. This place is so nice. They fixed super nice! It's super clean, very well decorated. The food is good. I think they have done an excellent job bringing this place alive, doesn't even feel you're in Longview!
I usually ONLY order oysters here but I decided to venture out. Service and food were great as usual! I’m very surprised at how excellent the boudin balls are! I ordered food for dine in and got an appetizer to go! I got home hours ago and forgot about my food. The outside layer was STILL crunchy/crispy, insides very flavorful. I was too lazy to rewarm the meal and ate them as is (I hope this isn’t a negative detractor) Top shelf margarita was great as usual! I’ll definitely order this appetizer again!
What a fun place! The menu is massive, the food was so good, and the portions were great for those who appreciate a good doggy bag. Service was on point (ask for Karson), and the new GM was wonderful. The atmosphere was incredibly entertaining, and the tables/seating were comfortable. All-in-all, a well-rounded fantastic experience.
Wonderful atmosphere, didn't have to wait for a seat, it was kind of chilly so I wish I'd had a jacket. The food was awesome I cannot stress that enough. And there were large portions. I absolutely suggest if you have not been to try this place out. I have been to the one in Henderson and just tried the one in Longview and it's just as great.
This was an awesome experience for dinner with my parents. Our server Carleigh was fantastic, my mom is gluten free and she was able to enjoy her meal, and I cannot eat shrimp due being allergic. She above and beyond to ask what they could do and both her and the general manager were able to get my meal to be fried in a different fryer that has not touched shrimp. Even had the boudin balls in the same fryer. I also enjoyed the live music. Will be definitely returning for another family dinner.
Decided to try it out for the first time after hearing mixed reviews. Restaurant was not busy on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered the Fried Gator bites for an appetizer. Not worth it. Very dry, almost flavorless. On the recommendation of our server, we ordered the Shrimp and Crab Bread Bowl, along with the blackened Gator Tacos. Both were excellent. The Gator meat was much, much better on the tacos, and the bread bowl had plenty of shrimp and crab meat in it. So all in all, not a bad experience!
Great place with live music! The food is decent and the portions are huge! Margaritas are delicious. The chips are seasoned, but burnt tasting. Luckily, the salsa was really good and kinda masked it. Service was just okay, but we have had excellent service there so, it's the luck of the draw.
First time to try this new place in Longview. Plenty of seating and a great place to take larger groups. The menu is extensive with many options from creole to Mexican to fusion. Should be something on the menu for a wide variety of palettes. Recommend sharing some of the creole appetizers. The food was tasty and the servings were plenty if you want to share a meal. Definitely worth checking out.
Had an odd experience, I ordered blackened shrimp po boy, and the waitress brought me fried shrimp. I explained that I ordered blackened, and she went back to the kitchen and came back with it and said the cook said it was the right order after talking to her again the cook came out and looked at all the orders on our table and said I guess it was wrong by this time I had to get it to go my lunchtime was over. Food was great at my office.
We finally decided to try this new place out in Longview and it was good! We started off with a cup of seafood gumbo and boudain balls. My kids didn't complain. I had the grilled red fish with grilled veggies, a side salad and 2 shrimp. It was alot of food! The mexican rice was ok and I have tasted better at other restaurants. The pineapple salad was not good and I picked through it. The mushroom sauce with real mushrooms on the red fish was very yummy! My kids had the fried and grilled shrimp and catfish baskets, Grilled salmon with veggies and a side salad and the fried oysters and shrimp basket. They liked everything but they perferred The Catch when it came to fried seafood baskets. I spent around 147 due to drinks and the appetizers. Next time I will try one of their drinks and seafood enchiladas :-)
I have been here twice. The food is good, the service is ok, there are lots of options. We couldn't remember what we had the first time so it must not have been amazing but it was good. This trip we had chargrilled oysters with jalapenos and bacon. The bacon and jalapenos overpowered the oysters and they were overdone see pics. Small house salad with lunch. I had fried oyster and shrimp basket very good, cooked perfectly. My colleague had shrimp wrapped in bacon and jalapenos. They were good and very nice size. Served with grits and a mango pineapple chutney that was amazing. Service was lackluster. Guy only came back once when we were almost done.
Shift manager on 7-28-25 dinner service. When 1 entree comes out 25 minutes after the rest of the tables entree's. It is absolutley common to at least comp an appetizer or a few drinks. The fact that you kept looking right at me and would never come address the issue at the table was absolutely unexcusable also. Waitress Zoe wasnt terrible but her hands are tied with what she can do table side. You sir need to do better! Food quality was as expected until the grilled oysters came out late. That were scorched and the shift manager was helping the cook on the line. Think you still have some training to do before they leave you solo on a shift service again.
Fun restaurant. Some of the food is very good, some is very bad. We came towards the end of the night and the wait staff was very ready to go. Food was cold, some was wrong and it took a long time to get it fixed because the waiters were talking and not availble.
It's hit or miss with the food here. I've sent food back, not eaten an entrée, and loved some of the food. The oysters are always good. Service has been great. The Longview location is a little heavy-handed with their seafood seasoning, which is a bit salty. Anything with the grilled chicken has been really good. Seafood enchiladas are great. Shrimp quesadillas were greasy. Shrimp tacos are my favorite, but I have received them over seasoned. I have not tried any of the fried seafood. Overall, I love the atmosphere and will return. I'll be selective about what I order here.
Don’t order the fried ribs whatever you do. Dry, tough and so much salt they prob float. Our 3rd time here. First 2 were great. I don’t know what happened here. Best thing on menu is shrimp and grits if you order without the veggies (too many on top of grits). Previous visits service was spot on. This time…… so many mistakes in our orders, ie., seafood nachos instead of our order of seafood enchiladas, queso is so thin and watered down you can barely know it’s cheese, gumbo is same (roux tasted like dirt water). I am from Louisiana, born and raised, grew up on Cajun cooking, especially gumbo and my daddy is rolling in his grave. I hate to leave this type of review but the food is pricey here and today….. not worth even half the cost. New cook?? Maybe. Also, the music is so loud I bet a lot of orders are misunderstood cause even shouting it’s hard to place your order. Not necessary. I guess I don’t need to say that our party of five very hungry adults were sorely disappointed.
We arrived last night and checked in. We watched at least 6 families arriged after us get seated. I went to the desk to make sure she had my info. She didn't. So I gave it to her and asked if we would get bumped to the bottom of the line. She said no. 4 more families went and we left.
Passing through town and staying nearby and I got a roast beef po’boy. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty BUT I think there more mozzarella than roast beef. The roast beef is supposed to be the star and the mozzarella is supposed to be an accent. Also there really was not that much roast beef to boot. The gravy was great. Roast beef seasoned nicely. Bread was fresh and airy. Fries were crisp and fresh. Don’t really think it was worth the price.
Our firstexperience here was great, but things have changed. The servicewas lackluster. Both my wife and I ordered the fish and shrimp with a baked potato. Both of our potatoes were refrigerator cold and not baked in the center. We had to rob another table for condiments. If this was helpful, please like this post.
This was my first visit here and I would probably come back. Some of the items on the menu are unique but some are so unique I would never even try them. The prices are a little high and the shrimp and grits were okay but they are a weird version of the traditional shrimp and grits for sure. I personally think they need more grits and less vegetables. The drinks look great and I may have to get one if I am not driving next time. I got water and it tastes great but I wish I had been asked for a refill because I would have taken one. The crawfish in the queso was SO FISHY. I wouldn’t eat it, the rest of the group said it was fishy but they would eat it anyway. You have to purchase the salsa for $3.99 which I am just not going to do. The seafood nachos were delicious (probably the best I have had) but I could tell the salads had been in the fridge a while because there was water collecting in the bottom of them and the cucumbers were changing. The staff was friendly and we got seated immediately and they even asked if we minded a live band, that is really thoughtful and appreciated. Our orders were taken quickly and the food did not take long. Like I said I would probably go back but I wouldn’t get the shrimp and grits!
Ordered the beef tacos today and the shells were stale, 2 of my friends orders were mixed up hey people make mistakes, but when the kitchen makes a mistake there should be an expeditor that’s double checking The shrimp nachos looked awful like the cheese was non existent it had been under a heat lamp so long you could not see it Same thing with my other friends nachos (pictures included) Now let’s talk about that little bitty fish filet, I love to fish but there is a size limit that you can keep, these filets were way below the legal size of a fish you can keep(picture included) I know as a former waitress that there were days I left the restaurant with hardly anything due to slow season, bad section, poor rotation of the hostesses whatever the reason. ?point? Groceries are high and money comes very hard for some people there should be some higher standards put in place at this location I know 14 people who will not be back, Check your kitchen so others won’t have the same experience.
Food was very disappointing! The boudin balls was decent but tasted like they had tuna in them. The crab cakes tasted like raw crab and only the fishy flavor of crab. The grilled boudin quesadillas was decent but very small and came with a jalapeño ranch dip that was very strong on the jalapeño flavor that would choke you out if you dipped to deep. We had to ask for plates for the appetizers for a party of 6 and then had to ask for silverware and refills when our drinks was empty. The server had us all handling each others plates passing them down the table instead of her doing it herself making all of us all man handle each others food.
Service was lacking and was brought raw food. Only offered a discount, even after having to pack my food up, after asking and then 20% on the dish only... Ok. But the server had already stated manager was taking care of it and mgr knew nothing. And was lied to by waiter and told we would be charged extra to have it packed up. Food (appetizers at least) were good but probably won't be back.
Came in for a late lunch and ordered 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell, queso and seafood enchiladas and two drinks. The oysters were Ok they should have been washed better as they were gritty . The queso was very good. The seafood enchiladas were cold. Talked to the waitress and she took the seafood enchiladas to the back and obviously slapped them in the microwave as the salad and pico on the plate were hot when she brought them back. At 22.50 for 2 enchiladas I expected better. The atmosphere was good and waitress was attentive. For the price I expected better attention to detail on the food and food that was prepared fresh not slapped in the microwave. I do not mind paying a higher price for better quality food but this was not my experience here. It was a higher price for mediocre food.
I regretted not sending the oysters back. It was a special occasion, so I didn’t want to complain. But we had raw and chargrilled oysters, and they were tiny! The grilled ones also had a cheese mixture on top that was so salty I could barely eat any of it. I actually spit food out into a napkin twice! They also weren’t rinsed or something because I got shell pieces in two of mine. The bread was also very tough. It wasn’t worth the price!
I was excited to try this place because it had so many good reviews. When we finally sat down the waitress brought out the menus. She asked what we wanted to drink. I said unsure this is our first time here. She gave no suggestions she stood their looking. I did not feel welcome here. Then we ordered. The nachos were flavorless but the fajitas were decent. This will be my first and last time here. Y’all need to do better in the customer service department.
The server at Tía Juanita’s charged an unauthorized tip to my card. I left a $15 cash tip, and my bill was $64.00. However, the server added an additional $20.00 tip to the ticket without my consent.
Tori our wait staff. Was rude from the begining to the end of our lunch. I ordered the Fish & Shrimp Sautéed & veggies. When my meal arrived it was all shrimp. The shrimp were tough. Hard & chewy. No fish was on the plate. The server Tori insisted that I had only ordered the shrimp, "See here I wrote it down" she said & showed me. We came here instead of going to Henderson, as we normally do. Back to Henderson it is. We won't be coming back here.
My family of 5 waited 52mins for all of our food to be cold except for a kids nacho frie it was the hottest plate on the table. Had 2 orders of gumbo that was as cold as there drinks. 2 orders of fish an shrimp that wasn't even warm. The only plus side was the manager did discount the problem meals. Have to say I've ate at 3 other locations an they where awsome. Even during the big rush. This place had maybe 5 or 6 tables. Will not return to this location again. I'll drive 32mins to the one in Henderson.
My parents and my family ate here a few weeks ago, and we loved the food, we loved the atmosphere, and on the face of it we loved our service. However, when it came time to pay and the waitress handed us our bill my dad insisted on paying for all of us. He asked me to look at the itemized bill to make sure everything was on there, and to figure out how much tip he should leave. I normally don't look at the itemized receipt when a server gives it to me, I just hand them my card. However, when I looked at this receipt I noticed our server had already added an 18% gratuity. I thought that was odd because we only had 6 people in our party; not what I consider a large party. Also, she hadn't mentioned when she dropped off the check that gratuity had already been added. I pointed it out to my dad and let him know to not add any more tip because she'd already put it on there. When the waitress came back she still didn't mention the gratuity, and after she ran my dad's card she brought back the credit card receipt but NOT the original itemized bill. And on that receipt was a place to add a tip, like on any receipt at a restaurant, but no indication that we had already paid for the tip. My dad felt weird putting a zero on the tip line, and when he asked the waitress to make sure he wasn't stiffing her on a tip, THAT was when she readily admitted that yes, the gratuity was already on the original bill so that was no problem. We left and the more I thought about it the more I wondered how many times that server has done that and managed to get a double gratuity out of a customer. And was that just our waitress running that scam, or is that common practice at this location? Either way, I thought everyone should know they really need to inspect their receipts when they eat here. Like I said, the food's delicious, and I'll probably be back, but I will no longer hand the server my card without checking to see if they've already added gratuity.
Although the food was subpar to say the least the drink was good but it was very messy around the bottom & stem. The waitress Shaun was VERY nice with everything going on. I will NOT get into specifics about the food but we had ordered quite a bit to give a good assessment as pictured. I will say they have room for ALOT OF improvement in the back of the house. I didn't recommend anything because I am not recommending this establishment.
