Opiniones de Langer's Los Angeles
Their parking lot is easy to find but might get crowded if you go later in the day. We went around 12pm and we only had to wait a few minutes for a spot to open up. The wait to get a table was only about 20 minutes. It went by fast and staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Once inside we ordered the #19, pastrami French dip, chili cheese pastrami fries, and a grilled cheese kids meal. Everything came out delicious. My son preferred the French dip and my husband preferred the #19. I liked both. If you want to compare this to Katz I would say it's on par but more balanced because it has the coleslaw. I definitely prefer their rye bread over the bread at Katz's. The crust is crunchy and the bread is fluffy and soft. We go here sporadically but we heard that when the owner retires they're going to close so we're making more of an effort to go more often.
Wonderful overall experience, the food was top notch. I highly reccomend their #19 although the #44 is also good. Their latkes are very crispy well done and the atmosphere is great. I also really loved their lemon coconut cake.
I was stranded near LAX due to flight issues and used DoorDash to deliver my sandwich and salad. Everything was fresh and good experience with delivery. Don't recommend getting a sandwich with coleslaw, as the bread was a tad soggy.
Best pastrami sandwich I ever tasted. A little expensive but worth it. Pretty big sandwiches. Great quality and tasty 😋
People say this place has the best pastrami EVER. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. I got their iconic pastrami sando number 19. It came on perfectly soft, pillowy rye bread with a still crispity crunchy crust, sweet crunchy fresh coleslaw, tangy Swiss cheese and Russian dressing that all helped to balance out that beautifully thick hand cut rich umami savory tender pastrami. Pure deliciousity. Even though it’s expensive Lowkey might be the best sando in LA cuz this place is pretty good. $29.64 after tax
This place was 7 minutes from our hotel, and everyone said it was one of the best old school Jewish style delis in LA. They're only open 8am to 4pm, we got takeout there to eat on our Warner Bros studio tour. Street parking was easy at 10am, place wasn't busy at all, good tim to visit. We had the #54 pastrami/corned beef combo, matza ball soup, potato knish, and grabbed a nice mable halvah slice on an impulse because...halvah! Sandwich was heavy but not overstuffed, the meats had just the right amount of fattiness. Knish was huge an filling. Matza balls were good but were in plain clear broth, not our preferred noodle-y and vegetable-y soup. Which was ok because we were stuffed by the time we got to it. If we lived in the city we'd be making our way right through the menu, definitely highly recommend this place!
What an iconic place! We finally had the chance to come down and try this iconic diner. It’s been here almost 80 years and is a staple of one of the best pastrami sandwiches you’ll ever have. Food was top notch and you can see why it’s won so many accolades. Service was excellent, you have to wait to be seated, fast service, community ambience with people from all the city of LA. Truly an amazing experience! We’ll be back!
If it's your first time, just get the #19. As far as Jewish deli sandwiches go, it's the best on the West Coast. I'd argue it's actually better than Katz NYC. The bread is better at Langers while the pastrami is equivalent quality. Here are the downsides. The fries are forgettable, the service is OK, and the surrounding neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired. But it's all worth it for the sandwich.
This place is an absolute gem. Their pastrami sandwich is truly something special—one of the best you’ll ever eat. I usually get mine with mustard, and it’s consistently amazing. I’ve also tried it with coleslaw a few times, and it was really, really, really good. The bread they use is fantastic too; it ties everything together perfectly. I’ve also had their matzo ball soup, which is simple but really good—nothing over the top, just a comforting, well-made classic. Service is impressively fast. Every time I order, my food is ready within just a few minutes. The place itself has a great old-school vibe, the kind of spot that feels like it’s been around forever—in the best way. I believe they’ve been in business for 60 or 70 years, and it really shows in the quality and character. Overall, it’s a special place and absolutely worth a visit if you love a great pastrami sandwich.
Ordered delivery. #17 and #19. Both were delicious. A true Los Angeles classic. Langer’s is one of those timeless places that feels like stepping into LA history. The #19 Pastrami Sandwich absolutely lives up to the hype. The meat is perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, stacked high between slices of warm double-baked rye bread with just the right balance of mustard and Swiss. Every bite feels like perfection. Service is quick and genuine. It’s the kind of spot where you can tell people have been coming for decades — and for good reason.
I tried Langer's once and was instantly addicted. The Number 19 sandwich is a masterpiece. I didn't even care that it's rather expensive, the quality was worth every penny. Tender meat, fresh coleslaw, and Russian dressing on rye. Comes with Pastrami, but do yourself a favor and get it with Corned Beef instead. You won't regret it. The wait staff is excellent, and hard working, too, quick with the refills and ready with suggestions if you find yourself stuck on their sizable menu.
My mom used to come here since the 70's its embedded in my heart. All I could take is 2 pic's because its been 12 year's since I had langer's in general. I had to try their signature classic hot pastrami sandwich 🥪. One of the best pastrami I've ever had and I had tasted pastrami from different places and in different states. I hope this restaurant keeps running many more year's to come 🙏🏼 it's a blessing having this landmark continuing serve up very classic dishes.
The atmosphere at this place is amazing. The food is even better. I had their famous number 19. The quality of the pastrami is amazing. I would say it's one of the top pastrami sandwiches In all of southern california, there's a pastrami place in the desert and lingers Definitely is much better and much better quality. This is definitely a place you need to go if you want a good sandwich. Even the rye bread was amazing
A gem in a neighborhood which had seen better days. Let's immediately state the obvious, amazing cuisine and a rightful contender for best Pastrami sandwich in America. I have also been to Katz's. I had to give them 4 stars for the atmosphere. While the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere on the inside, the neighborhood that it resides in has seen better days. I dropped off my family at the entrance and then drove to find a suitable place to park. The putrid smell and trash in the vicinity is quite noticeable. Would still highly recommend it and would love to have another meal there.
Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Environment ⭐ The restaurant itself is fine, but the surrounding environment is rough. There are homeless people everywhere, and if this weren’t takeout, I honestly wouldn’t feel comfortable parking on the street and sitting down to dine. Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ordered several sandwiches, they were excellent. • Pastrami Sandwich ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The rye bread had a subtle caraway aroma that I really liked. The smoked pastrami was rich and intensely peppery. It was a bit fatty for my personal preference, but I understand the ratio is intentional and part of what makes it work. What really stood out was the coleslaw in the middle—paired with the Russian-style dressing, it cut through the richness perfectly and kept everything balanced. Will I come back? Yes—but daytime pickup only.
Hubby is a big fan on pastrami sandwich and we tried Langer’s on our last trip to LA. The restaurant itself is okay, but the surrounding neighborhood was not pleasant. We went on a weekday for lunch and it’s definitely a busy joint. The service was fast and the pastrami is pretty good. Although hubby still think Katz in NYC is better, but I think the smokey & beefy flavor brisket which melts in your mouth is very comparable to Katz.
Corned beef was melt in your mouth, rye bread was surprisingly soft in the middle with good bits of textural variety coming from the crunchy crust and sauerkraut — which, when paired the Russian dressing added sour and sweet notes to the fatty sandwich. Pastrami has a great bark and flavor. Latkes are good. Service is good as well.
Off the charts #19! Have to give praise to Langers for the quality, consistency, and longevity. The pastrami on twice baked rye with mustard and coleslaw is not to be changed or modified. Don’t mess with the classic. You may open a worm hole that ends reality. Place is dated. Location is not the best. But keep in mind you’ve entered where many have before and there is a reason why people come here. It’s that good. Try the desserts from the carousel. The staff is friendly true humans. So tip well.
We were seated right away for a party of 4 on a late morning of Thursday. Our server Kevin was very patient and recommended the best dishes for us. He was super attentive in making sure to be ready to fill up our coffee mugs. Walking in it was very cold but another server, Frank noticed our body language and turned up the temperature for a more comfortable temperature. Thank you for noticing! 😅 Both gentlemen were very thoughtful and it just comes to show that this place has awesome people working on the clock. For food I recommend the sandwiches here. The French toast was okay, but the turkey sausage I ordered as a side was good. The bill came up to be $140+ for just the four of us. That’s $36 per person. I don’t agree with the bill given the quality and Taste of food but service here was outstanding.
