Opiniones de Red Dragon Los Angeles
Might be some of the best chinese I've had. The food was very good and the service was great, definitely going back again.
Consistently some of the best Chinese food in the City of Los Angeles, and anchors a group of solid Westside places, but you cannot beat the Twin D. Recent big outing included multiple noodle dishes. Chicken dumplings, mushu, eggplant, black bean chicken, ginger beef and many others and all outstanding, fresh and well prepared. Even the generously sized chicken egg rolls are perfectly crisp without being too heavy. Chicken corn soup light and delicious. It’s an institution but the Twin D is still delivering at a high quality, value and experience level. Go enjoy!!! LA doesn’t have many left.
Great choices of Cantonese food, fresh vegetables and full of flavor. We like to sit close to the huge aquarium with a fat lazy carp and dozens of koi. Servers are friendly and helpful, atmosphere is calming
Was brought here by my sister and I’m so glad. The staff were friendly and it wasn’t even busy at all. Food was made fresh and quickly. Everything we picked was so delicious. The orange chicken was my favorite and the honey walnut shrimp also. The sauce on that was so flavorful. It’s a great place to catch up or have a date night and portions are shareable. They do have a parking lot but it is small.
We have driven by Twin Dragon a few times and have never had a chance to stop. This time we were on our way to a concert and the wonderful neon sign called to my grandson. He just had to try it. I am so glad we did and we will be back time and again. Everything about Twin Dragon is lovely. The exterior is so pretty, with its big neon sign and its frontage looking, well, so Chinese. It is so nice. Parking is in their lot or there is always a place on the street. Once you walk it, you are warmly greeted and seated. The interior is old school Chinese with green booths, prepared tables and art everywhere. It is very comforting and you feel like you have actually left the city. The service is great. They know the menu well and are happy to navigate you if you need. Our food was delivered to us hot and fresh. It was also pretty fast. Again, our server was wonderful. The food is great. We had a selection of items. Their shrimp tempura is some of the best we have had, it is not over cooked or filled with too much tempura. Their BBQ pork rice is fantastic and is all of their noodle dishes. We were just so happy there. We can't wait to go back and order new things to try. We know it is going to be great.
Like Chinese food? This is the place for you. Amazing food and service. We tried the "Mandarin menu" to get a taste of different dishes. Wow, we did not get disappointed. As a starter a Wonton soup that taste so good. Best of all it's not to salty, and have really good wontons. BBQ spare rips, crab rangoon, and egg rolls- can't say much more than it's delish. Especially the spare ribs. Very nice seasoning. Entree: spicy beef and sweet and sour chicken. Just amazing. As you might know I never give a five star unless the service, food, environment and more are on top. And it is here.
From the long standing colorful decor outside to the welcoming huge plates of banquet style Chinese food, Twin Dragon has probably seen it share of ups and downs over the years. But you have to be good- consistently- to have remained at the same location for this long, making yourself basically an institution. I'm happy to say that after many years of being away, I came back to find The Twin Dragon is well worth the time, trade buds and money. You get exactly what you would expect from great banquet Chinese food, in ample servings, freshly made, piping hot and tasty. Very delicious offerings in many different dishes offered. The restaurant was also able to take note of a food allergy and make the dishes appropriately. The highlight of the menu may be the Aromatic Shrimp and the crispy pan fried beef noodles. This is a wonderful dish especially with the vegetables it incorporates into its stewy, crispy texture. Nice to know this mainstay is still around and firing on all cylinders. Service was also attentive, engaging and friendly.
Usually, the experience has been pretty positive with this restaurant. Unfortunately, this recent past experience was definitely less-than-ideal and was somewhat disappointing. The food and specially the service were not as fresh/pleasant as previous times. The food, for the most part, was not like other times. The Orange Chicken and Fried Rice were delicious as is the case most of the time. Although, the fried orange peels in the Orange Chicken did not taste right. In addition, the server failed to mention that the Steamed Vegetarian options had chicken pieces in one and fish sauce in the other food item. It was not what we wanted. Also, the Cream Cheese Wontons, although quite good and tasty, were very lukewarm and not hot and fresh like one would expect. So, overall that was upsetting. The service was also poor. The woman (very dark hair, pulled back ponytail, short height) who was assigned to our table had a very unpleasant way about her from the very beginning. A sour face and very rude. The other servers were also very inconsiderate and just dumping the dishes very loudly in the box right next to us where we were sitting. When we asked for to-go boxes from our server, she said that boxes 2 would be enough and that we didn't need 4 boxes. 🤦🏻♀️ It was somewhat comical but still rude because we actually needed 1 other box after packing 2 of the boxes. When we asked for another box, she then rudely opened the box that had been packed and closed because she doubted us and wanted to see if 1 more box was actually necessary. She then gave us 2 very small boxes, not the regular standard ones. We paid almost $100.00 to dine there and were very polite to her the whole time despite her bad attitude. It was puzzling that she was so off-putting and trying to be so frugal with the boxes. It is understandable if someone is stressed or has had a hard day but they still need to act professionally with customers. For this reason, we will probably come back at a much later time in the future because the food and service have genuinely been quite pleasant and tasty in the past. I try to be fair in my review and overall perspective but unfortunately Twin Dragon really fell short in both food and service this past time. ******* To the restaurant reply: Thank you for taking the time to read my review and your response. Appreciate the follow-up and any possible effort in trying to correct the aforementioned issues. Thanks.🙏🏻
Well if you don’t have sentimental reasons for liking this place skip it all together, compared to other “LA staple” type restaurants this one fall extremely short, the food was not very good, even Chinese-American classics like chow mein and orange chicken were just greasy and heavy, the noodles were tough and tasteless, the chicken pieces were just grey lumps that barely added anything to the dish, the orange chicken was a bit better but still basic with a slight flavor punch to it, but the white rice that was served with it was barely better than the rice I make at home, and I suck at making rice. Chinese food has been elevated by leaps and bounds since 1975, trust me you don’t need to jump into this time here machine. Over $100 bucks for a couple of apps, couple mains and two terrible mai-tais is def NOT worth your while. There’s a bunch of other a great time machines in the city, choose better.
The food is okay, but the portions are small. I ordered the drink, Pina colada, tasted like a slushy ,17 dollars per cup. It’s very expensive food&drink with the very common items. The service is polite and fast, but not correct . I paid 80$ with tip with one soup, one chicken garlic and beef chow fun with one drink. I ordered beef chow fun, but I got whatever it is in the plate. I hated the yellow noodles. It’s not a rice noodles. Soup is very salty. I asked to change the soup. It was back to the kitchen 4 minutes and came back with the same taste.
The best Sesame chicken we've ever had in our life! But, That does not make up for the egg drop soup that tastes like the whole box of corn startch was dropped in it. The worst egg drop I've ever had honestly. The chow mein was good but mediocre. The cheese ragoons were like they forgot to add the cream cheese. So is it worth the very high prices compared to other Chinese restaurants?.. well depends on what you get... "The sesame chicken"
The fried rice was just eggs and hard rice absolutely no green pea or carrots. I emailed the restaurant twice and they didn't respond back. Please see pictures. again we went there because its on way for pick up. hot and sour soup had absolutely no mushrooms or green onion. hardly any bamboo shoot maybe few strings. the tso chicken was all breaded almost no chicken. come on you can use few dollars if ingredients in the food. you will loose all customers
I dined in on Monday, January 5th at around 4:00 PM. The food here is always great, and this was not my first time dining at Twin Dragon. However, I was extremely shocked when the waitress asked my husband for a tip while he was still drinking his beverage and before we had even finished. I found this very rude, especially since it was my husband’s first time trying Twin Dragon. I was quite upset by the situation, as the waitress came across as demanding. I am always someone who tips, and there was no reason for her to ask my husband directly. This experience was very disappointing.
This is the single worst experience I have ever had in my entire life regarding a restaurant’s conduct and management of customers… We ordered and paid for food online — for pickup a little over an hour later… when we arrived, the entrance was crowded with people trying to get their takeout orders… the restaurant was clearly overwhelmed and simply did not have the faintest idea how to deal with such a situation… They basically had one restaurant worker who did pretty much nothing in the entrance area — really, not much…. maybe once every ten minutes utter a name softly for their pickup order…. and then there was the other guy, clearly stressed out, who after about 30 minutes of waiting, mind you we were all just standing waiting for our food, not in a chaotic way at all whatsoever, just standing and waiting: “CLOSE THE DOORS, EVERYONE OUT” — like a child covering their eyes so that the problem would just go away… And yes… we stood out in the POURING RAIN… for quite a while… after getting soaked, we went back in again regardless… Also… another fun fact, that worker who was yelling was the only one (out of the 2) who sort of seemed like he might have a slight clue as to what was going on — and he was rarely there.. so… it was primarily a scene of customers clueless as to what was happening. Super awkward when you’ve already paid for a relatively large and expensive order, are waiting, and have no idea as to how long this may take (especially when it’s been an hour at that point). There was pretty much no meaningful communication regarding the situation. After that hour of trying to get our order (true for the vast majority of people), it was clear that the food from this location was just not going to happen… especially after talking to another guy who ordered three days in advance - even checked yesterday that his pickup would be ok…. and he also had been waiting for well over an hour!!! I don’t recall exactly how long… but it had been for a longer period of time than us… So, given this situation, we asked that the order be canceled — or at least tried… as there was realistically no helpful staff present. We finally were able to talk to the guy trying to have everyone wait in the rain, and it turns out there was no one available who knew how to cancel an order!! Now we’re in the situation in which the simple task of just leaving is intensely difficult. After his delivery of that news, he left. We and many others started to discuss the fact that the only way to potentially deal with the situation would be to contact the bank and cancel the payment that way. My partner pleaded that they at least start taking a list of cancellations to be handled once they had someone who knew how - pretty much pleading that they at least try to do a tiny, tiny bit of problem-solving…. but the guy who did pretty much nothing (because the yelling guy left - and was normally absent) obviously did nothing with that very straight forward and simple idea, and instead just stood around like one of the many patrons…. Finally, after quite some time of being stuck at this establishment, the guy who was trying to get everyone to stand outside in the rain returned and agreed to start writing down the names of people asking for a canceled order… Honestly, I’ve worked at a pizza shop years ago, and I’ve dealt with difficult situations there before… delays, unforeseen issues… I get it — but their total and absolute lack of even trying to communicate or find at least partial solutions other than closing the door and having everyone wait in the rain after they had already paid for their food was intensely offensive! Never in my entire life have I seen anything quite like this before. If you cannot deliver on an agreed-upon transaction… don’t take the order, and yes, life isn’t perfect and sometimes accidents happen… but for the love of god, at least communicate and try to be ever so slightly compassionate toward your patrons — don’t treat them like dirt! This would be a negative star if I were allowed….
Unfortunately the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The waiter did not come to our table after we first sat down for 15 minutes. We were trying to flag servers down as they walked by and were intentionally ignored. Our waiter barely spoke to us and seemed annoyed to have to take our order. Our order seemed to be forgotten to be placed as the table next to us ordered 15 minutes after us and received their food before us. Our food only came out after we inquired about it 30 minutes after we ordered. A side dish of green beans never came for an hour. When we talked to the manager about this, he was extremely rude and dismissive and did not seem to care to try to make things right. It was Christmas Day and they were very busy with take out orders and people dining in, but they should be able to manage the situation by stopping take out orders or dine in if they are overwhelmed. It made it feel like they were prioritizing making money at the expense of meeting the bare minimum of customer service. The service was abysmal. The food was ok, standard Chinese food but nothing to write home about. I would never recommend this place to anyone and will never be returning.
Worst restaurant experience of my life! Both the waiter and manager were over their ski’s. Not only were they grossly incompetent, which I could have overlooked, they were downright mean. It took the staff over 20 minutes to come to us to take our order. Previous overtures to the waiting team were rebuffed. And on top of that, the table next to us got their food before us even though we ordered 15 minutes before them and ordered overlapping items on the menu. They seemed to have no regard for dietary restrictions. I never write reviews but felt compelled to write one for the betterment of prospective customers. Would love to hear back from the Twin Dragons management but know anything they write back would lack compassion.
This restaurant used to be really good before but not anymore. Recently I went there and I had the worst experience possible! For starters, the portions are smaller now. They are charging dinner prices for smaller plates. I was absolutely SHOCKED with how little food we got for the price that we paid. We literally had to go eat dinner somewhere else after this because we did not get full from it. The SERVICE Is AWFUL. We were CONSTANTLY GETTING IGNORED. I had to ask for sugar on 3 separate occasions. By the way, Do NOT order the Ice Tea, it's gross. We ordered Appetizers and a soup which was a HUGE disappointment. Soup was Gross. The app was literally the last thing they ended up giving us, while we were done with dinner. Plus, they were giving it to another table, which we were confused about. The actual food was" okay." I mean, we were highly disappointed with it given the flavor and price. The only thing NICE about it is the atmosphere, but I am not paying an arm and a leg just for the atmosphere. I say skip out on it.
