T.G. Express

I've been getting food here for years. Let me tell you, I've never ever been disappointed. I've tried several plates but my favorite is the honey chicken. Parking is scant. But I don't mind one bit. The food is delicious and the price is decent. And they have delivery!!

Wow, amazing. My favorite Thai place is this restaurant in the San Diego area called Koon Thai. They had the best Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao I've ever had, and I'm happy to say that TG Express has reached the same bar of satisfaction for their Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. See, I'm not normally a fan of Pad Thai as most places serve a noodle dish that tastes like rice noodles lathered in a sickly sweet ketchup, but TG Express' Pad Thai tastes *good* with minimal candy ketchup sauce. Anyways, the BBQ Pork is fantastic. A very faithful and delicious production of classic char siu. Soft and flavorful, their BBQ pork is tinged with that alien red shade that's so iconic with char siu. The service was great, I went on a Saturday afternoon (during covid of course) and the staff was accommodating and very considerate of safety for their customers. There were social distancing stickers placed at 6 ft intervals, plastic cough screens, and closed indoor dining. The food came out fast, everyone was wearing a mask, and the lady behind the counter kindly asked if I wanted a cup of ice water because it was 100 degrees out. I enjoyed the food and experience immensely and I want to recommend TG Express for anyone looking for a good Thai Food kick in LA.

We've always enjoyed it. We've ordered there many times and they always came quickly and had the order correct. They always send free eggrolls. They deliver to us in the artist district near Santa Fe with no extra charge. The food is good and the price is right. I've never actually been to the restaurant so I don't know how the dining room is. They are open late too...

Came here for lunch and ordered the red curry with steamed tofu (can also be ordered fried), a green papaya salad (we ordered mild) and the teriyaki chicken wings. Everything was delicious, the wings were HUGE, fresh out of the fryer and tasted like quality meat. Seems like these folks got some bad reviews when they were still finding their footing, but they’re way past that now. The food was delicious and the woman serving us was extremely kind, definitely try them out.

Delicious food and good customer service. I’ve been eating here for years. Unfortunately they moved out of Koreatown and no longer deliver to my house. The newer location isn’t convenient but it’s worth the drive. I enjoy the spicy fried rice with shrimp and their Larb (extra spicy). The customer service is excellent as well.

Small food court setting. First time to TG Thai Food. Ordered chicken pad see ew, pineapple fried rice and chicken satay. Good service, reasonable prices and food is tasty. Will be back again to try some of the other dishes.

Update: They catered our last gathering at home. They delivered the food fresh and on time. They included everything including utensils for serving the food. Our guests complemented the food. We ordered the yellow curry, pad Thai, crab fried rice, spring rolls, mango sticky rice and BBQ chicken. It was stress free.

In my opinion this is the best by Thai food In LA, I’ve tried so many different Thai restaurants but none of them has same taste, I ordered the drunken noodle extra spicy & it was delicious & perfect on the spicy, I also ordered the spicy fried rice, it use to be as good as the drunken noodles same flavor profile, but this time I didn’t like it, it tasted burnt and didn’t have any basil leaves in it, I hope the didn’t change the recipe, otherwise I would give them 5 ⭐️

For years I have ordered the SAME EXACT THING .... combination fried rice with extra pork, extra egg and Chilli oil. They switched up the menu on me so I ordered the next best thing...the BBQ pork fried rice. It wasn't pleasing to my eyesight when I first opened the container and it had a gnarly smell to it. The BBQ pork pieces were too big for my liking like I'd basically have to use a fork and knife to cut the pieces which is more work than I prefer to do. I asked the staff what happened to the original combination rice and she said they don't sell the pork anymore. Well ....they need to bring that pork back because it was tasty, it had no smell and it was moist and just simply delicious. Much better than this new bbq pork they put in the rice now and they also used to put the original order in a standard white to go container. Now theyve cut the portion down and it goes in this smaller black container. Ive been a loyal customer for 8 years. I drove 20 minutes from home to pick up my order, only to be left underwhelmed and disappointed but hey things change, seasons change, nothing stays the same or lasts forever right so what can I say. Spent $20 on some rice that I didn't really enjoy. Next time I'll just order a to go Shanghai Rice from Taos in Hollywood and make the trip. This is my honest review. I gave them 4 stars because honestly they've always been my favorite Thai spot but took away a star 🌟 because I hate that they changed the menu.

I grew up on this restaurant as a kid and was always my go to for fried rice! Sad to say that the portions have just gotten smaller and the prices have only gone up. Wish the amount would’ve stayed consistent with the prices but what can you do. I don’t purchase from here as often as I did but the food is still good.

I've eaten here for over 20 years and I haven't been in 3 and the food still tastes good but the quantity for the price went down. I was shocked at the small container and wasn't filled to the top. In the past the quantity was worth the quality.

I order with some co-workers and usually it is very good...but not today! My online delivery over took over 2 hours! And the "Free" thai ice teas they offer for large orders were not there with our delivery order. I kept calling for an update and all I received was..."it is out with the delivery guy". And we paid a delivery fee too. Sauces were missing from the order and was below usual service. No real offer for the delay and now missing items. I will definitely reconsider ordering from here again...a long while from now.

TLDR: They can't get orders right anymore; pay with cash and check it upon delivery. This was a 5-star review for 7 years, and I've ordered from them countless times, but over the last few months their service has completely deteriorated. It's always been 1.5 hours to actually get your food, but now they always get it wrong. If you're lucky, they bring back the rest of the order another 1.5 hours later. Today the driver told me he'd go get the rest of my order after I pointed out the missing items from his printout, and then he never returned. I'm not calling them back to fix it anymore. If you order from them, make sure to select cash as your payment option, and then carefully review your items before paying.

Tried to order Online and was directed to use the "New App" placed a $40 order and my account was charged however, I was notified the "Order did not go through" . I told the manager over the phone that my card was charged and he said yes that's correct but there's "a technical issue I'm not sure what it is but you can order again and pay cash. What the heck? Why would I order again after I was already billed? What if this technical issue happens again? He says they will do whatever they can to make their customers happy yet he did absolutely nothing but tell me to order again. There are so many Thai spots that deliver here in LA. So long TG Express. You lost a long time customer and I will make sure to spread the word about this atrocious customer service you gave me.

Delivery takes way to long about 80-90min, you are better off picking it up if you can which will only take 15min to be ready. One of my orders was incorrect because apparently they just happened to change their menu this week. What topped it off the Thai Teas I ordered tasted awful when I checked it seems they did not check the dairy or refrigerate it because it had spoiled. Can't even bother to explain this to them, they honestly will not care.

Have been ordering from here for over 15 years and never really had any problems until tonight.. the lady that took my order said 45-50 mins.... an 1 hr and 1/2 later, food's delivered. Checked my order, no fried rice (which I specifically stated and ordered this same plate last friday which came w/fried rice). Called restaurant in which they said I never ordered fried rice and what I ordered doesn't come with fried rice. if I wanted to order, I would have to pay cash on delivery.or they void the whole order and just reorder w/fried rice. ok fine.. no prob... then they changed their minds and said they couldn't deliver anymore because there were no orders in my direction and it's under the minimum delivery amount.. which it was their mistake from the beginning.. so the only way to fix that is if I ordered another plate over the minimum delivery amount.. then they can deliver my fried rice.. tried to complain and ask for the owner or manager or supervisor, I was told no one is going to help me!!!! So now I'm looking for the owner!!!

Food is not bad but the customer service is rude and staff totally unprofessional. The customer is never right in this mom & pop place. Tonight I saw the handy man packing white steamed rice into containers on the side while wearing no gloves. After a very long wait for an entree to go I inquired as to what was taking so long. I then learned my ticket had been misplaced. Ok, no problem but when I complained about the long wait for 1 small order to go, an older woman there yelled at me after I repeated my order to 3 people who asked me!! In the end I asked for and received my refund. The undue wait I could handle. The hostile yelling no one deserves.

I ordered bbq pork drunken noodles, I asked for chow mein noodles instead of the flat rice noodles that come with it and extra bbq pork. When I get it the receipt says chow mein noodles but as you can see from the picture the gave me flat rice noodles and not a lot bbq pork. (Which I paid extra for) In addition to this instance, everything else I have had from this place has been mid or not good at all with the exception of the Pad Thai. I’ve had teriyaki beef here, it was very plain and meat was extremely chewy/dry. Also the teriyaki sauce was watery and not flavorful. I’ve had the orange chicken which is horrible. Over breaded “chicken” that had been frozen and then either fried really hard or multiple times over with an Orange flavored sauce poured on top. The chicken is hard and the sauce is never enough. I’ve had the bbq pork ramen, which was mid. It wasn’t bad like the others but also wasn’t bussin. The sampler platter was also mid. I’m afraid to tray anything else at this point.

Took over 3 HOURS for us to get our food after they said delivery would be 1 hour. We called at 1.5 hours to check and they said they had called us. They had not. And to check our phone was working, the guy then called us and we received the call just fine. We gave them two numbers to call. They then said 1/2hr more. 1hr later and no food. The delivery person didn’t even answer when the manager tried to call twice once that extra half hour was up. The manager blamed us for the time even though the driver had failed to make contact with us. They were completely unwilling to apologize for this incident or to offer us some sort of compensation for a THREE HOUR WAIT. Obviously after 3 hours the quality of food is affected and also isn’t that against health and safety codes to just serve food after a certain period of time after just leaving it out...TERRIBLE customer service, delivery and thus mediocre food upon delivery. Ironically, we were going to try a new Thai place but stuck with T.G. We’ve been ordering from T.G. from the same phone to the same address and never had a problem. T.G. Express just lost a loyal customer.

AVOID AT ALL COST. been ordering delivery from here since 2008. recently everything has taken a turn for the worse. smaller portions, higher prices, but food tastes same. real problem lies with delivery. they will say 40-60min but it is always over an hour. once i waited 2 hours. the "food" was an ice cold gelatinous blob of poorly seasoned trash. their response was to offer a replacement, which would take "40-60" minutes to deliver. they wanted me to wait 3+hours. fantastic solution! saving the worst for last, they also have sanitation issues. don't be surprised to find interesting new ingredients in your noodles. their response is to offer a replacement, which of course will take over an hour to deliver. this place has gone straight into the trash, reflective of the service and food. in a city with a multitude of thai delivery options, keep TG Express off your list.

Small portion of food. Their food gave my wife upset stomach. Stay away!!!!! Also they will charge you extra if you are not careful. Their menu outside says one price and inside they will charge you something else if you don't catch them. They charged me $3+ extra. Unprofessional and rude customer service. Dirty environment. Torung on Hollywood BLVD is 10times better than this. Never again.

Be ready to wait more than an hour for food delivery. Food is good, but service is messed up. For starters they are forcing me to tip more then I do? I tip 10% what else are they asking from me?? I get the order I have to sign and it says tip:$cash, I entered gratuity.. don't cheat customers.. They have messed up my order and the driver gets upset for me sending it back... food is delicious, but when I call to see what's going on; they always give me attitude.

We ordered a vegetable curry and confirmed the specific vegetables that would be included - the curry had 0 veggies and had a piece of plastic wrap cooked in it. We called and asked for replacements - they offered to replace the dish that was covered in egg, but confessed that they didn't have the veggies that were supposed to be included in the other dishes, so could not replace them and would not refund them. When I explained about the plastic, they said they didn't know how that could have happened, but they couldn't replace or refund it. I offered to send them a picture (included here), but they weren't interested. The worst customer service I've ever experienced, even after being a loyal customer for all these years. It doesn't matter how good your product is if you treat your customers so poorly. They need to do better.

Ordered 8C Katsu Buffalo Chicken and received 8B Grilled Buffalo Chicken. Called to let them know and they called back to argue that they sent us the correct item. Katsu is breaded with panko. There is no panko pictured below. This is a grilled piece of chicken. They assured us that their katsu is NOT breaded and we ordered a grilled chicken item. We’ve ordered from them before and the Katsu (8C) arrived breaded. Very disappointing. Won’t be ordering again.
