Tip: The kolaches are popular, but some reviews suggest they can be hit or miss. Some locations might run out of kolaches early, so go early or consider the breakfast burrito as an alternative.

Opiniones de Sugar Browns Coffee Co. Lubbock
Very well laid out seating for anything from studying to group sessions. Staff are always courteous and consistent. As a big cortado fan, I’m grateful for their quality espresso pulls. Chai tea is lacklustre, but if you’re coming here, its probably for their espresso anyways. I’d argue they have some of the best in Lubbock
cozy and welcoming. Lots of seating and spread out. Coffee was good, will be coming again!
The options for seating are varied and helpful depending on needs…available areas are a cozy couch area for relaxing, a large table for large groups and smaller tables for those who need to visit, work or study in smaller groups or independently. I had a paleo lemon poppy seed donut that was delicious along with a vanilla latte. A great pair! The staff was friendly. The space was clean and well kept. Enjoyable!
We office next to Sugar Browns and I can legitimately say that our company is powered by Sugar Browns drip coffee and Americanos. The staff is incredibly friendly and warm. They take time to remember you and your order. It’s not every shop that you hear “the usual?” when you walk up to the register and look over to see the barista already making the drink.
My wife and I came here for some coffee around 9:45 on 11/18. There was a line of 3 people ahead of us, but we only waited about 5-6 minutes to order. We had never been here, but the staff were warm and welcoming and kindly answered all of our questions. My wife got the sugar free decaf vanilla latte, and I got the butter pecan latte. They were both extremely delicious. Best coffee I’ve had in a long time. Not too sweet and absolutely no hints of bitterness. Then we split a breakfast burrito. The burrito was delightful, but a bit pricey for the size. ($6 for what you see in the photo) The green salsa had a big punch of sourness with no spice. It complimented the cheesy bacon flavor of the burrito. Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed some truly excellent coffee.
I ordered sugar free decaf vanilla latte. It was fabulous. No bitterness. Very smooth. The breakfast burrito had a whole wheat tortilla and was also delicious. There is a children’s play area and the seating is spread out. Over all it was affordable. There is a corner with merchandise and coffee for sale.
We were passing through and arrived shortly after opening today. Very attentive and quick service (it helped that we were the only customers lol). The kolaches are affordable, small, and very tasty. The cinnamon knot was good and loved the turbinado sugar on top! I got a dirty chai latte and it was delicious. Highly recommend this coffee shop for a quick stop or a longer stay if you’re passing through.
Trendy neighborhood coffee shop. Spacious, with high ceilings. Plenty of tables for solo and group studying or meetups. There are booths and couches for a more leisurely experience. A small stage for showcase open mic is off to the left as you arrive. Very modern feeling coffee space. Makes you forget you are in a small middle of nowhere town.
As an avid coffee shop customer, I decided to flop my laptop and work at Sugar Browns. It was a very busy morning crowd but the staff was quick and friendly. There's not much of a "treat" menu but what was available was okay. The coffee was good and the other coffee drinkers are more than happy to share a table with you if your looking for one. It's a nice place to hangout with friends or work.
Loved our visit here. First timers. Delicious coffee and tasty pastries. Two SF vanilla lattes, a blueberry crumble muffin and a cinnamon twist. I do wish they warmed their pastries, but they weren’t cold and still very good. They could use more comfortable seating here. Most were hard wooden or mega type chairs. Would definitely come back here again but may get our coffee to go.
We typically love sugar browns every time we go but we just visited the new location and are ultra disappointed in it. My husband ordered a cappuccino with mocha, but there was no flavoring added to it at all. We also ordered 5 of the original kolaches and a cinnamon knot. They were all ice cold and not warmed in the slightest, which is not typically how they are served. Cold bread with cold sausage? We went through the drive thru and didn’t notice any of these things until we had driven off. 2 stars because the girl at the window was great!
Drove her specifically cause it says they have Angus beef kolaches on the menu on their website. Arrived and was told no they do not. Wasted my time and gas. Change your website then please!
I have been a long time supporter of Sugar Brown’s Coffee. Even when the owners shifted, I wanted to continue to support this iconic Lubbock coffee shop. However, I can no longer stay quiet about my disappointment. When the staff shifted, no one could make a quality cortado except Dylan. Fortunately, she was a great trainer and eventually other baristas learned to master their cortado making skills. There’s still a handful who… can’t. It’s sad to me because some people seem like they’re only there for a paycheck. The passion for quality coffee is non-existent. A couple of weeks ago, I arrived at 7:30am to see the building closed. No sign, no post on social media. Google said they were opened, but that wasn’t the case. I called them to see if someone would answer and communicate the issue, but the phone rang until it went to voicemail. (I’d later find out they had a plumbing issue. But no communication ANYWHERE? C’mon now..) Today, I called to place a to-go order at 7:40am because Google stated “open” at 7:00am. I let the woman know my order and she asked when will I be picking up. I told her “in five minutes.” She proceeded to tell me that they don’t open until 8am (due to the snow storm - I get it) so it won’t be ready until 8:05-8:10. I cancelled the order. It’d help to train the baristas to be upfront about opening hours rather than getting someone’s hopes up just to let them down. I understand that *sometimes* there’s a post on social media updating the hours, but I don’t always utilize social media - especially prior to 8am. As an established business, there needs to be an answering service or hours shifted on Google if there are changes in hours. I’m truly shocked because this is the first time I have ever dealt with such inconsistencies in a local business. I say all of this with grace and accountability. Would highly encourage the owners to meet with the owners from Monomyth Coffee and Gold Stripe Coffee and learn a thing or two.
Cassiecoronel Jade is not working today but we can get it done to me see if 6th Of August is still available forward to the world to me see if you can be a little girl with 677
Cute environment, service was great and friendly, coffee was awful. Tasted sour, no flavor. I ordered their signature latte.
Not very welcoming to people with disabilities and their ADA service animals. You are not allowed to choose or question if you allow disability service animals into a business. It is Federal law. It seems like your employees might need some training. You are allowed to ask two questions by law: Is this a service animal? and What service does this animal provide? The latter question is unnecessary.
