Cada vez que vengo a Madrid como en La Barraca porque sus arroces están buenísimos, sin desmejorar el resto de los platos, está muy bien situado y el servicio es agradable, atento y rápido. Por último la relación calidad precio muy buena. Me encanta

Excelente experiencia. Desde que llegamos, la atención fue destacable: amables, atentos y muy profesionales. El lugar es hermoso, con una ambientación clásica que acompaña perfecto la propuesta. Probamos la paella de conejo y pollo y fue realmente sobresaliente, en su punto justo, sabrosa y bien servida. Sin dudas, un lugar para recomendar y volver. We went right at opening without a reservation, and we got in, but recommend making a res ahead of time. The service was amazing and the food was better than expected. The squid ink rice was DELECTABLE! I would not miss that. They were very accommodating, my mom had dietary restrictions and they were more than happy to help her out.

I visited La Barraca and it truly lived up to its reputation. The paella was exceptional — perfectly cooked rice, rich flavors, fresh seafood, and beautifully balanced seasoning. You can really taste the authenticity and the care that goes into every dish. We had a wonderful meal at La Barraca the food was delicious, especially the paella, and the atmosphere felt authentically Madrid. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which really made the experience even better. One important tip: make sure to book a reservation, as the restaurant gets very busy (for good reason!). Highly recommend it if you’re looking for great Spanish cuisine and warm service.

<< PAELLA MARINERA WINS >> not a solid 5 stars, but the pulpo and the paella marinera were delicious and saved the day. We paired the food with an outstanding Albarillo wine (with ice for me as it needed to be a bit more chilly). Service was ok, very attentive and cordial but not on top of us. We got a table at the front room which was perfect, if you call in advance for a reservation, request a table there. Enjoy it!

First things first: make a reservation, or you could end up waiting an hour depending on your party size. The paella here is absolutely amazing! They even offer a Valencia-style version with rabbit if you’re feeling adventurous, but I went for the Queen of the shellfish one. Note: paella must be ordered for at least two people, but I was hungry enough to eat for two myself, don’t judge! The king red shrimp was hands down the best shrimp I’ve ever had.

The food was fantastic!!!!! I am no paella connoisseur but it’s the best I’ve had in my entire life. You definitely have to get the bread service- the garlic aioli is to die for. We also had the octopus and the mushrooms and prawns for appetizer. The food was next level food, I will stay for two people one appetizer would have been better because you get a lot of food with the paella.

After living 21 years in Madrid, I did in found the chance to go to this paella restaurant. We ordered two different paellas, black rice and normal paella. Honestly ours was fantastic ( the black paella) however,my parents were not that happy with theirs ( the shrimp paella) I tried it and I would have added more flavor to the paella. Their words were “ it was disappointing & mediocre” I would repeat our black paella for sure but I do suggest them to change their dish to a bit more flavor.

Had dinner at La Barraca, and it was a pleasant experience all around. I placed an order for Valencian Paella and Octopus Tataki. The octopus was delicious. Served With a rich, smoky and savory sweet potato purée, it was perfectly cooked. The paella was tasty but lacked the excitement and bold flavors compared to the octopus. The ambiance is classic, cozy and warm. The service was attentive and kind. Please note that the rice and paella dishes are priced per person and are sized for two people. For instance, a paella that is advertised at €20 will actually cost €40 for two. Although the costs are somewhat higher, they are commensurate with the calibre of the food.

This restaurant is featured in a Japanese guidebook. As expected, it is a high-quality restaurant with delicious food and good service. The paella has an exquisite texture of rice and seafood broth. The omelette is fluffy. We ate and drank until we were full, and the cost of 90 euros for two people was also great.

Nos ha gustado mucho. Hemos pedido la paella mixta y la verdad que estaba muy buena. Lo único que le faltaban verduras, no tenía ninguna. El servicio agradable, el local está bien, pero la acústica es un poco mala y se genera barullo. Los baños están muy bien, hay 3 solo de mujeres. Un poco caras las raciones, pero nos lo hemos disfrutado.

I tried this restaurant in May. The food was good overall, but nothing really stood out. I was expecting a bit more from the paella. It wasn’t bad, just pretty average. The octopus, on the other hand, was good, definitely better than the paella. The sangria was also really nice. The atmosphere was calm, not noisy. All in all, a good experience, but I was hoping for a bit more from the food.

The restaurant was nice looking, the place where we were seated was a smaller area where only two tables fit and it felt really warm, not comfortable. Food was really good, a bit expensive to what was offered, a paella for two is like €50+. I didn’t like the service, we were offered drinks at the beginning and the waitress never came back, no chance to order something else. Another thing to mention is they don’t have kids chairs. I really enjoyed the food but not sure I would come back.

The place is very nice and full of people. It is not very touristy, but all waiters speak English. The welcome dish was olives, garlic butter and bread which was nice. We got an entree and the paella they are famous for. I discovered the place as the "best paella place in Madrid", it was fine. The sangria was very good. The paella for 2 is very big. The decor of the restaurant was traditional and it looked clean and organized. The service was disappointing. The staff seemed really cold. I arrived before opening and was one of the first people in, but they stated there is a 3 hr wait. I opted for takeaway, and they mentioned there is a restriction to order for two, which I was also ok with. When I tried to place my order they said the restriction is you must order two of the same kind of paella. Consequently I never got to experience the food.

Supposedly this is the best paella in Madrid, so we had to visit on our last night. Bookings are highly recommended as they do get busy. We got the seafood with everything peeled paella to share amongst three people. It actually came out faster than expected. No volveremos. Las rabas ultracongeladas, y eso que preguntamos antes, porque si iban a ser así no las pediríamos, a lo que nos contestaron que llegaban diariamente de la pescadería (de los ultracongelados del supermercado, eso os lo aseguro, porque el regusto a amoníaco no se lo quitaba nadie). Las croquetas nada cremosas, minimazacotitos con aroma de jamón. La paella mixta un desastre… el arroz estaba en su punto, pero todos los mariscos.ultracongelados, los langostinos llenos de tierra y pasados… los mejillones resecos, los calamares de plástico (era el mismo potón de las rabas). 175€ 4personas para comer así no está justificado ni por la zona. Fuimos por recomendación de una amiga que hace más de un año que no va, espero que no vuelva, porque debe ser que la calidad ha bajado… Una pena.

Considero que la publicidad que encontré como "mejor restaurante de paella valenciana" me parece demasiado inflado. De platos pedimos una sopa castellana, una paella valenciana para dos y un entrecot de ternera con patatas. No quiero considerarme ninguna chef de postín, pero la sopa castellana la comí mejor en otros restaurantes de estilo castellano. Estaba bastante salada, con unos taquitos de jamón que puedes comprar en cualquier supermercado, que ni siquiera le daban gusto al caldo porque estaban duros. Del entrecot no puedo hablar porque lo comió mi esposo. Así que no puedo opinar al respecto. Pero ahora viene la trampa. La paella valenciana. A la vista cuenta con los ingredientes propios de la original. Pero mi primera impresión fue "qué raro, el arroz está como muy seco y sabe a aceite de girasol, además de que los granos de arroz son muy pequeños; estas judías verdes parecen que las han hervido y se las han puesto añadidas. Y el conejo, seco." Era como si lo hubieran cocinado todo por separado, el arroz estaba frito. Entonces me preguntaba dónde está el famoso arroz bomba para paella. Pues ni más ni menos que en los floreros artificiales que decoran las mesas. En conclusión, un fiasco y una estafa.

Muy decepcionada, nos cancelaron la reserva aunque los camareros muy amables nos dieron otra mesa nos hicieron esperar mucho para pedir. La comida mediocre, jamón regular, paella salada y otras cosas que pedimos muy regulares y todo por 50 euros por persona. Precio y calidad totalmente desfasado. Una pena porque es un restaurante centenario al cual venían a comer mis abuelos en los años 40s y hemos venido muchas veces. La calidad ha decaído muchísimo...

Expensive and not worth the price. Many people recommend this restaurant;however, I hold a different opinion. The food is so salty. The olive has pit inside. The Paella is very salty and the mussel starter is extremely salty. We did reflect the issue immediately to the manager; but he claimed this is normal. As a fine dining restaurant, they are fail in those basic etiquette. I do need to warn those who have kidney issues. Very salty food on their menu Instead I recommend you others like La Bola. They have much better food and services. At least, La Bola makes you a pleasant dinning experience.
