El dueño que a su vez es un excelente cocinero es de los mejores anfitriones que he tenido en Madrid. Siempre es deseable sentirse como en casa y éste es el lugar ideal para ello. Ampliamente recomendado y estaré ansioso de volver a Madrid para regresar a Matilda 😊👍🏻

La comida estaba un poco salada para mí, quizas porque no echo sal cuando cocino en casa pero merecio la pena la visita. Es un ambiente muy tranquilo y mono tenia muchas opciones vegetarianas y veganas. La atención al cliente tb genial

Fuimos a desayunar por primera vez y la verdad todo de 10. El ambiente, la calidad del producto y el servicio fue muy bueno. El único pero es que las bebidas estaban un poco frías cuándo sirvieron la comida, pero por lo demás les doy un 10. Volveré

La tostada de aguacate es una obra de arte! Y la tarta de queso con pistacho sin palabras! Si a eso le sumas que el sitio no podría ser más bonito y que el servicio es hogareño y cercano, resulta la mezcla perfecta, tanto es así que para un par de días que hemos pasado en Madrid, hemos tenido que repetir! Fernando trata a sus clientes como parte de su familia! Le da el toque mágico a un lugar que ya de por sí es encantador!

Todo genial. Vinimos a desayunar y estaba delicioso. Pedimos el yogur griego que estaba riquisimo, y el zumo de naranja un 10, se notaba que era recién exprimido. El servicio excelente, rápido y el camarero dicharachero, familiar, cercano y majisimo. El sitio es muy acogedor y precioso. Vamos, una experiencia de 10. Volveremos.

Pristine service from Fernando, followed by the best lentil soup I’ve had in my life! The most unique thing here is the revolving menu on a daily basis. This component made me feel like I was 8 years old again at my Abuela’s house. Everything we ordered was simply majestic and this is a place that deserves much more accolades.

Absolutely delicious brunch. Everything was fresh, generous, and perfectly balanced, from the tortilla to the brioche, simple ingredients done right. Great coffee, fresh juice, and a very cosy, warm atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. One of those places you leave happy and full, already planning to come back. Love this place so much! Every time we are in Madrid this is our first stop. We usually come once at breakfast and once at lunch during our trip. It never disappoints. My husband and I popped in here for an early breakfast on a Friday in late March. We had been visiting a nearby church and Matilda was open with good reviews. I ordered my usual pan con tomate and tortilla. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich and we both had orange juice. Simple and delicious! Service was prompt and nice in a very homey setting filled with postcards of past diners. Our total was US $23.81

We stopped here for lunch between our visit to the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. It’s slightly off the main tourist track, and you could tell by the quality. We really enjoyed the salmorejo, a cold tomato cream dish served with a slice of tuna. It was fresh, flavorful, and a perfect light lunch during a day of sightseeing.

Cafe Matilda is a delightful gem with a charming corner location. Though it’s quite small, with only eight tables, the cozy atmosphere is worth the wait. The food is delicious, and the coffee, especially the cappuccino, is exceptional. Be sure to try the fresh orange juice, the croissant with Nutella, and the scrambled eggs. The croissant with Serrano ham and Manchego cheese is also a must! What truly sets this place apart is the outstanding service provided by Fernando—his hospitality makes the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Had the loveliest lunch at Matilda! The service was impeccable and I couldn’t get over the 3 course rotating menu. The ambiance is eclectic but they change up with menu so based on what they have cooking that day you get to choose one appetizer, one main and a dessert for a steal. This little hole in the wall is a small jaunt from the m train station and I couldn’t recommend it any higher! Next time you find yourself in Madrid pop in for some authentic local Spanish cuisine!

The food is incredibly delicious - I had the salmorrejo, ravioli, and coffee flan and they were all out of this world. One of my favorite lunches I’ve had in Spain, and I’ve lived here for many years. I will definitely return next time I visit Madrid! ♥️

Very professional and quick service. Food is delicious and value for money. Menu of the day consists of appetizer, main course, dessert, coffee/tea and a glass of wine. There is vegetarian option too. It is better to make reservations as the place is quite small and popular.

A hidden diamond! Lovely food, vintage atmosphere, very friendly and fast service. Once I tried, I had all my meals here during my time in Madrid. Be mindful, though, it is small and constantly busy. Lots of people came and left because there was not free table. I was lucky I was by myself.

We have been in Europe for 5 days and this was my favourite meal! For 14 €, I ordered soup, main, dessert, beer and coffee. The food was simple, but so delicious. The restaurant has their daily specials written up on the board out front, but they also have a small menu. We decided to eat there just based on the specials so we didn't actually see it though. The service was fantastic! (It's a one-man show, but he is lovely). I honestly can't say enough how happy we were to stumble upon this gem on a side street. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Great little place and totally unassuming! From the facade to to the tables, the decorations and the personal service, everything about this place is special. This isn’t a fried eggs and bacon kind of cafe, but if you’re looking for excellent coffee, and crispy toast with fresh and delicious toppings (cheese, ham, chorizo, etc), croissants, potato omelets and a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, then this is the place. Prices were great and atmosphere was even better. We will definitely be back!

Buen sitio para desayunar, lugar pequeño y acogedor. La comida está buena pero en nuestro caso tardaron casi 40 minutos en sacar un bikini y un crusán de jamón. Casi se nos había acabado el café y ya estaba frío. Los precios están un pelín subidos pero aceptables.

Was quiet excited to try out this place and Was waiting for a while outside . There was a local family behind me , the waitress tells them that there is not table with a smile. She then comes at me with the menu waves it in my face and said can’t you hear, there is no table and walks off.the entire cafe went silent and was looking at me at this point. This experience was upsetting and stayed with me throughout the day. Not sure if this was racism or pure rudeness but was very disappointing.
