Don't let the average review score keep you away. Many of the low scores are old and during the pandemic. Things were difficult then, without the cruise ships. Everything was excellent in my recent experience. They have space on the beach, but the main restaurant is around the corner and the prices are clearly posted. I ordered the whole fish and he weighed it in front of me. The prices were reasonable compared to other places on the Malecon. I found it the day before just walking around looking for reasonably priced beer. I checked out the menu and decided to come back to eat the next day. I was very happy with my choice. Pay in cash and in pesos.

I loved it. The prices may seem expensive, but when they served us the food, it was generous and well-served. The lady is incredibly kind, always attentive, and the beachfront where they have their tables is so pleasant. The food is delicious, and they don't charge for palapa rentals.

La “Capitana”, the host and chef, made us great pastor and tortilla’s. She even shared the secret to the spices and how to make the tortilla’s. Not expensive at all. 5/5

We had some tacos al Pastor at night. They were super good and cheap! We liked the little table of ingredients to add to the tacos. We felt a local, family-friendly atmosphere.

The food was very good, the service was super friendly and nice, but the owner is a bit of a profiteer. She overcharges you. Be careful. The beach terrace and the beach are excellent. I recommend the guacamole and grilled shrimp.

The food was very delicious, I personally really liked it, the guy who served me was very attentive, the only thing they left me with was a "fee" for the "showers" which is a hose in a small wooden room, the prices didn't seem too excessive to me!!!!

They're friendly and easygoing, though not particularly attentive. The good thing is you can bring your own drinks, the ceviche is good, and you can stay as long as you like. The bad thing is it's expensive, the food takes a long time to arrive, and they often try to charge you more than the price listed on the menu.

Horrible, flee this place. It's prohibitively expensive. Upon arrival, they told us they didn't rent the palapa, only for consumption. In the end, they wanted to charge us one dish per person, which of course we didn't accept (for example, breaded fish for 350 pesos). Low-quality cocktails for 150 pesos each. They refuse to show the menu, claiming it's in English and in dollars, and "countrymen" are charged less. It's a lie! They even charge more than what's on the menu. Be careful, I don't recommend this place at all. Plus, their waiters seem like hooligans and want to intimidate you if you don't order what they want.

1. The food is awful, they can't even make chilaquiles properly, they taste horrible, and 150 pesos for a plate. They steal from you, everything is dirty, the glass smells like junk, and they demand a tip. You're better off going to Barba Negra, which is further down the road, or to Big Mama.

Beware of these thieves; they prey on tourists, charging them four times the price. They have a waiter on the beach, a fat, rude guy, who offered a small snapper and charged 950 pesos. We ended up paying 2500 pesos, and the guy was in a bad mood beforehand. I'm going to file a complaint with the mayor, and I will never return to or recommend Mahahual. These kinds of people ruin the jobs of others and damage tourism.

⚠️⚠️⚠️Don't eat at this place⚠️⚠️⚠️ They're RIP-OFFS. They charged me $790 for: 1 plate of pancakes $150 1 small plate of fruit $150 1 smoothie $60 5 beers $300 Forced tip $100 It's outrageous! They're all abusive and thieves, they're all in cahoots. A hippie named Alex approaches you and does the dirty work, overcharging customers. They overcharged me by $335. Definitely not worth it. If you want good food at a fair price, go to Crazy Lobster in Mahahual. Don't risk getting ripped off. Tell them to go to hell!

Don't be fooled by the waiters on the beach. They showed us a couple of small lobsters that were so overcooked that it was almost impossible to get the meat out of the shell. The beans were watery, tasteless, and a bit raw. The lemonade was the only good thing they knew how to make...all this for 2000 pesos! 🤬

They were attentive and friendly, but after the bill, we ended up paying 2,400 pesos for a fish that wasn't tasty and had a lot of bones. In the end, the fish was more expensive than a lobster anywhere else.

The food is passable, but the workers do not agree on the prices. When I arrived, they told me that with the consumption we could occupy the cots. We ordered the food and then a waiter came to charge us for the cot rent.
