Opiniones de Killer Shrimp Marina Del Rey
Surf and turf delicious most tender filet and lobster. And the killer shrimp bowl was very tasty. Killer fries way too spicy.
I have been going to killer shrimp for years! I love this place! The restaurant is always clean and the views are beautiful. I’ve pretty much sat in every area. I love sitting out side on a nice day and watching the sunset over the marina. The servers are always so nice. This time I had the killer shrimp and crab which was a bit too spicy for me but I couldn’t stop eating it. I usually get the jumbo fried shrimp, coconut shrimp or blackened salmon. I’ve pretty much had all the appetizers. Whatever you pick will be good. I highly recommend this spot.
Valet parking was only $4. This was during lunch. I had the killer shrimp with rice. Seasoned very well. Spicy and a large bowl of it. I was tempted to slurp the broth but my manners prevailed. The service leaves something to be desired. They can be slow and inattentive and this is at lunch or even dinner. We were seated quickly, which is good because they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. All in all we'll continue to come here, the food is great and the location is amazing.
Let me tell ya about this place. Walked in not too busy. I was greeted by a warm smile and a beautiful spirit named Tracy. If you follow me you know I love good calamari. Well, this is the spot! Calamari was fried perfectly, all the flavor was there. Now they are cut differently, big chunky pieces instead of the circle and of course the fingers. So Good! And my first time trying raw oysters and boi.... I'm hooked! Thank you Tracy for the outstanding service. I will be back
First time here and we loved it!! My husband and I decided to pop in for lunch and I’m glad we did. You have a lovely water view and the food was incredible. We ordered crab cakes, shrimp & lobster enchiladas and sword fish (wasn’t too crazy about that one..but it was my husband’s dish). The service was great and the food came out pretty quick. There was free, self parking (keep in mind this is on a Friday. I’m. It sure if it’s different for the weekend). We will definitely return.
Always a fantastic experience. I've been coming to Killer Shrimp for over a decade, in its original location as well as once it reopened here, and I'm always incredibly happy with the food. Whole their larger menu has expanded dramatically since the basic original namesake dish, and it's all exceptional, it's that namesake dish that keeps me coming back.
Great location, delicious food and drinks. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I love the shrimp and pasta and the lobster Mac and cheese croquettes.Eat them while they are hot to experience the full gooey goodness. And if you can score a seat outside, you’re in for a treat. Highly recommend.
This place is fantastic for seafood dishes. They have the basics like cocktail shrimp and tacos but they also have their own dishes as well. The Killer Shrimp dish is amazing with their own seasoned broth with different spice temperatures. It comes with with enough bread and food for 2. The shrimp cocktail has chopped shrimp inside with large from on the out. The shrimp tacos I got grilled and they were amazing. It sits on the water so you can have an amazing view as well.
I'll start by saying that we are spoiled when it comes to seafood. We live nearby. That said, Killer Shrimp is good... Killer Shrimp was a short walk from our house, so we took a chance on our favorite restaurant. It was dark when we arrived, but I'm sure the view is awesome at the end of the day. I ordered the "killer shrimp special." It was a little bit too spicy for my taste, but it was delicious! My mother had fried shrimp that were good. Our server was awesome, and we felt that our meals were reasonably priced.. There are lots of great places to eat in LA, but we would return to have another meal at Killer Shrimp...
So firstly the flavor and temperature of all of the food is the reason for the review because service started off subpar. With a party of 3 we waited about 10 minutes before being addressed by waiter after hostess sat us. Then we waited another 8-10 minutes to receive waters. We were understanding as we saw our area visibly more on the empty side and other side of restaurant had semi big parties of 6-8+ people. We ordered all our food in the thoughts we’d be waiting just as long to receive. Waiter asked if we’d like our appetizers first we responded “YESS PLEASE!”After about 15 minutes our main entrees came out first, then a few minutes our appetizers came out. Now presentation was amazing. EVERYTHING tasted fabulous. The amount of spice and seasoning was perfect. The salmon with mango salsa and garlic mashed potatoes was 🥰 AMAZING, a flavor combination I never knew I needed. The lobster and shrimp bowl fantastic! The broth spice was 👩🍳chef’s kisses and very fresh bread 🥖 to dip with. The mussel perfect 🤩!!! We’ll definitely be back just going to sit in the bar area next time.
Wow a great Place in the Marina to go out !! Restaurant and Bar ! Excellent Food !!!! Venue upstairs to see a live Band also Killer Yachtclub Speakeasy is an amazing experience to enjoy live music in a very intimate atmosphere!! Great to plan a date night! Weekend parking $9 and fun HH 3-6pm during the week ! My new favorite place for FUN 😎
We ate here for lunch around noon. We were seated right away. We requested an outdoor table, the hostess offered to turn on the heater by our table because she thought it was slightly cool. Waitstaff was attentive, and menu was well diversified. We had the lobster mac and cheese as an appetizer and then split the killer shrimp shelled. Both were excellent. The mac and cheese was made with real cheese from scratch. The killer shrimp is spicy so ask for no spice if you don't want the zing. Make sure to dip the bread in the bowl, you'll miss out if you don't! Drinks were ok, not quite what I was expecting but presentation was good.
In Los Angeles on business and I meet up with a buddy of mine here. First off, I showed up in the morning so I started off my day with a nice piping cup of coffee. With a bold feeling coming on, I asked my waiter if the bar was open and he says, Absolutely! So here come the Ice cold Heinekens. My buddy finally arrives and breakfast was still being served so what caught my eye was the chorizo and eggs. The order came with home fries or hashbrowns... I humbly asked the waiter if the chef could scramble up the home fries with the eggs and chorizo for a heck of a scramble and sure enough...it was heavenly. The texture of the eggs was amazing, the spice on the chorizo was just right and the home fries scrambled in complemented the entire dish. I paired it today with wheat toast, and I had to try their infamous hash browns and a side of their crispy bacon. I experienced an incredible meal and sat marina side outdoors while doing so. Fun, friendly and family atmosphere. Check out Killer Shrimp next time you are in Marina del Rey!
Long-time customer that moved away 14 years ago. Came back there yesterday and the place was as good as ever. I invited 10 friends of mine to join me and the management accomodated this group beautifully —the service was top-notch— and the shrimp dish that i had Jonesed for all these years did not disappoint..!!! Grateful that some things never change..!!
Here is I think, very famous seafood restaurant in Marina del Ray, so no additional word from me is needed but I should say, many of nice harbor view terrace seats are there and the space inside is huge, so seems good for not only for couples but families and groups. All menus were attractive for me so quite difficult to decide order but I ordered lobster bisque and fisherman’s stew this time. Fisherman’s stew was a little but spicy but both were really tasty and yummy. I will repeat here and try another attractive menu next time.
On Friday night this place has a really cool 😎 soul band and DJ next door. I would say it was one of the bands I’ve ever experienced. I would actually go back to LA just to go back to killer shrimp on a Friday night to see this band. That’s how good it was. Even between the DJ was phenomenal. We had a bar table which was $100 but the hundred dollars went to $100 in drink credits. You can’t beat it. People there were awesome. It was just a vibe. They brought maybe seven different singers. This was a great night. I would definitely go back and I 100% recommend forthe band, DJ and entertainment.
Great food, service, atmosphere, and pretty good waterfront views. The blue cheese mashed potatoes?! 💥😋 ONE caveat that has VEXED me, though - while our waitress was PHENOMENAL and was SO personable, the restaurant manager (blonde, short hair) was the complete opposite. He came around TWICE asking patrons how they're enjoying the food. BUT he skipped over our table BOTH times - walked past it and circled past it TWICE, still asking other customers and deliberately overlooking us. I'm not sure if it was because we were Black or not, but it seemed that way. We didn't feel welcome or included at all by him, which tainted the experience some. That was the only turn-off for a first-time experience, especially being a transplant from the Midwest!
I've been there now a couple of times, and the food both times was amazing! I recommend the Ahi tacos they are wonderful! The wait staff is usually good, but the one time we went, I think maybe they were under staff because the wait staff wasn't that great. It's worth going to see and enjoying their great food and the beautiful view from their dining area.
Great service, beautiful outdoor seating area next to the bay and yes, the killer shrimp is killer! Crabcakes were amazing, as well! Went during later afternoon hours and place was not busy. Outdoor seating with great views of the bay. Highly recommend!
This shrimp is truly KILLER! I adored the abundance of bread, the sauce was spicy and flavorful and the atmosphere of the marina view from the dining area can't be beat! Fast and friendly service really elevated the experience as well. I will be back and I will bring friends. Seriously, we decided we're adding this place to our list of places to bring friends who are visiting us in LA.
Delicious... Tiny Sea Creatures in spicy sauce, with bread. Can be a bit spicy, very filling. Staff is always friendly and attentive, private parking lot in Marina Del Rey. Ocean views, indoor and outdoor seating. Full Bar Highly recommended
This restaurant is outstanding with food quality, and service. The harbor view was nice as well. My boyfriend and I could not finish our portions as they were really generous. We had a wedge and bread to start. My boyfriend had a shrimp cocktail, and I had a roasted beet salad. Totally amazing nosh! And our server Kalista was outstanding and very fun!
What a wonderful way to start my Sunday! Delise our waitress, I hope I spelled her name correctly. Our service was exceptional, and the foods came quickly, and was hot and quite delicious. I had a killer shrimp omelette. It was Killer! Fresh fruit for me. It did not disappoint. The patio is the place to be on a beautiful sunny day. I will be returning. Prices were in line with other establishments in the area.
9/30/25 I was in town for business and wanted to have a nice dinner with my friend. Since she was dog sitting we needed a pet friendly spot and Killer Shrimp was perfect with their outdoor patio. The ambiance was very welcoming, inviting, and causal. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, shrimp tacos, mini crab cakes, and a garden salad with vinaigrette. Everything was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Our waitress Kali was so friendly and attentive which made the experience even better. The whole evening was top notch and I would definitely come back again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve been coming to Killer Shrimp in the Marina for a while, and honestly the service here has always been hit or miss. But Tiffany completely changed our outlook on this place. She truly brightened our day with her warm, bubbly personality and outstanding service. She put the Happy in Happy Hour! The view and the Happy Hour specials are already amazing, but Tiffany is the reason we’ll be coming back—just on the days we know she’s serving. Killer Shrimp, take note: she’s a gem!
After a night ride on my buddy’s boat in the marina, we docked right outside Killer Shrimp and headed in for dinner. 🚤 The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was awesome—everyone was so friendly. I ordered the enchiladas and they were amazing—definitely my new favorite dish here! 🌮🔥 The appetizers were great, and the drinks hit the spot 🍹🍺. Between the location, the food, and the service, this place is a gem. I’ll definitely be back and will be bringing my family and friends next time. 👏
A group of us came together to celebrate an incredible milestone—our beloved middle and high school teacher’s retirement after an amazing 48 years of service with LAUSD! From the moment we arrived, the experience was flawless. The valet team went above and beyond, even helping us with a large, beautiful bouquet for our honoree. The service from start to finish was nothing short of exceptional. Special shoutout to Tracey and Brandon, who went the extra mile to make this event truly unforgettable. Every detail was perfect, the food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was just right for such a meaningful occasion. 10+++ stars all the way! Thank you for helping us honor such a remarkable educator in the most special way possible!
I recently visited this restaurant for a special occasion and, while the location and ambiance were excellent—with stunning views overlooking the marina—the overall experience left something to be desired. It’s a great spot for celebrations, but my experience with the food was unfortunately a bit disappointing. The lobster bisque while decent in flavor, arrived lukewarm. Anyone who enjoys good lobster bisque, knows it needs to be served warm at the very least, and on a cold day, this was especially noticeable. It felt like the dish was almost there but missed the mark. The biggest issue, however, was the mussels. From the first bite, I could tell they weren’t fresh due to an off-putting smell. While I probably should’ve sent them back, it was my cousin’s celebration, and I didn’t want to disrupt the mood. After eating just a few, I had an immediate reaction and needed to excuse myself. When my husband caught a whiff of the dish, he gagged—which confirmed my initial suspicion- they really weren’t fresh. That said, other dishes we tried were quite good and well-prepared, but the mussels really dampened the experience. I would caution anyone about ordering seafood like mussels or oysters here unless they can guarantee the freshness. If you’re considering hosting an event or party, the location is fantastic, and the atmosphere makes it a memorable spot. However, based on my experience, I’m hesitant about returning, at least for the seafood. This is not a reflection of the service we received which was amazing.
Valet parking on the weekends, 9 dollars per car. The paella was spicy and really flavorful! High recommend! The signature of the restaurant is the shrimp soup that you can dip your bread into and the bread is unlimited. The location of the restaurant is good where you can pick either an inside or a patio seating. The servers are attentive and friendly. Most of them are wearing a smile on their faces. The cost is reasonable and I did enjoy my dinner yesterday. There’s Mothers Beach nearby within a five-minute walking distance and there are kayak and stand-up paddle boards to rent as well. Or you can board a cruise to take in the beautiful view near the Mothers Beach and the cruise fare is one dollar per person one way (until September 2, 2024) This restaurant is a great place to hang out with family and friends while enjoying the breathtaking sea view. Will def come back any time soon

Food was good as always. I always get the original shrimp with bread. It never disappoints. Unfortunately, service was not what I've come to expect. At our six top, four in the party were served quickly, but it was at least 20 min for the other two. Kinda put a damper on the evening. Also, they've added valet only parking. $9 is not that big a deal, but I was disappointed to see it.
Well I have loved Killer Shrimp from when their entire menu was on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper! If you like spicy shrimp in broth and chunks of French bread this Is the place . Your tongue may go numb, you do not have to eat it all. The restaurant has good to go containers that will not biodegrade before you get home. I had Killer Shrimp with a side of broccoli and looked mashed potatoes. I paid the extra amount to not have to peel my shrimp. My husband fried shrimp . His shrimp came out on skewers with fries. I had a rum based cocktail served in a Tiki like glass. We passed on dessert. While I have tried it sweet potato pecan pie is not a favorite. We were there about 5ish on Friday and got seated immediately. I think we were lucky. We have been there when the wait was 90 minutes for 2. There is a 5% surcharge for employee benefits. The service was good. They have outdoor seating most of it occupied by customers with four legged friends with views of the Marina.
A casual seafood place overlooking the Marina. Family recipes - the food is delicious, very spicy, and cooked with lots of butter and spices. The service is just okay, but it’s a type of place where you don’t expect too much from the wait staff. The food arrived fast. The patio is right above the marina but the tables are small - 4 top is the largest. It’s a good, casual place that’s not too expensive. I would recommend it. They do not take reservations and we noticed 1 night a long line at the door. We had no issues getting a table for lunch.
The location sits right on the marina with a gorgeous view. My friends and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. I personally did not care for my meal (killer shrimp pasta- pictured) but my friends enjoyed their meals (porch chops, and fish and chips - pictured). Worth a try if you are in the area. Service was excellent.
Portions are large, food is decent. I have a high spice threshold and I found the sauces bland. View of the marina and a parking lot. Cocktails okay, but not great.
The location is definitely a killer at Killer Cafe. Overlooking the marina with indoor and outdoor seating and with southern California weather being what it is, outdoor seating is useable practically all year. Service was quick early on a day where the place was empty, hard to imagine a busy day not impacting the quality of service. Should not be an issue as the view will more than make up for that.
Upon arriving, we were greeted but the young lady at the front wasn’t very pleasant, you can just tell she was over it the moment she made contact. The seating was nice, we acquired a booth and was decent room temperature. The food was fantastic. I ordered the seafood platter. It comes with fries and 3 dipping sauces, the tarter sauce has a ranch taste to it, ketchup, and a third which I wasn’t to fond of. It’s served with a fair amount of seafood, you can actually share it between two parties. Keep that in mind if there are a few things you’d like to try. Our waiter was great, she was very positive and checked up on us frequently. Will be coming to eat here again.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my sister. It was all patio seating (heaters available when it starts to get colder), but not necessarily social distancing (all tables outside were taken). Masks are required when walking through the restaurant, but we took them off at our table so we could chat and take lots of pics and videos. Our waitress, Bruna, was very sweet and took great care of us. Although, I'm not a huge fan of Killer Shrimp, the ambiance at the marina, the food, and the company were wonderful. The prices are reasonable for the area; however, the price of the Killer Crab Claws was overpriced, if you ask me. It's considered an appetizer and it is relatively small for the price of $29. I'd skip this the next time and just go to the Boiling Crab for the same price for an order of crab legs. All in all, they were still good and spicy. FYI: They don't have straws at the restaurant, so if you just need to use one, make sure to bring your own. I had a stash of Starbucks straws in my glovebox I was able to share.
On yelp it says 3 star, don't get fool by that. Their food tastes amazing and the service is good as well. If you go make sure you get the Lobster mac n Cheese, that was so bomb. I had to get one to go. You know when you go to 5 star restaurant and order the Lobster mac n Cheese that barely has any Lobster and very expensive. But the killer shrimp Lobster they put tons of it and it's so delicious. Their food is good and the view is just amazing. Try to go around spring or summer because winter time its really cold if you sit outside. They have heater outside but the cold breeze doesn't help it. Great restaurant great food, totally worth the drive.
The service was excellent and the view of the marina is splendid. The kitchen really knocked the fish tacos out of the park but the killer shrimp was a bit of a snooze. I ordered the pasta and had to put on the table hot sauce (excellent), salt and pepper before I enjoyed the dish. Try something new when you visit.
I remember killer shrimp from over 20 years ago and I'm glad to see they are still around. They've always had a great view, easy parking and great service. Today one of the owners came to our table for a short visit. They seem to be at 50% capacity and staff but my chicken sandwich was great. I'm not a seafood eater
I had been driving past this place for weeks waiting to get some time off so I could give it a try, and finally I was able to make that time yesterday evening. When I arrived, my date and I were seated near the bar immediately. It was a big, open, echo chamber that only grew louder as we sat there, so we decided to ask to be moved to the balcony outside — best choice ever! If there's open seating outside, make sure to ask for it, because the main dining room is uncomfortably loud and everyone is sort of just scattered around the room in a random fashion. Even though it was a colder evening, the heat lamps on the balcony made it comfortable. With the view of the marina, it was a setting worth returning for. The food here was all cooked and seasoned to perfection. Everything was rich and flavorful, even the drinks, and I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the ingredients. Nothing seemed pre-cooked, bagged, or frozen prior, and that perfect freshness couldn't be beat. The only reason this isn't a five star review is because the service was a bit shoddy. Our waitress would visit every table around us, but there seemed to be a 20+ minute interval between her visits to our table. We were left wondering if she'd ever return several times. She was a sweetheart, perhaps new or just overwhelmed, but poor service is still poor service. I definitely see myself returning here again, because the overall experience was excellent!
Since my last review I have since returned. I have loved this restaurant for years, so I want you to know it is extremely important to me that the food here is top-tier. And they never fail. This time I got the shrimp crab and lobster tail . Absolutely delicious . Gotta go check them out when you’re in the Marina del Rey area, in Los Angeles, California.
The Baseline: For a seafood fine dining the fish/seafood needs to be fresh, the presentation must excel beyond a casual seafood place, there must be a selection of accompanying offerings, and there are unique offerings. Food: The Original Shrimp is what you come here for. Shrimp. Spicy broth base. Bread. That is the original with all its glory and I can remember when it was on the second story of a strip mall sitting above a Subway and Tajrish Kabob House. If you get the original it still holds up to my memories of it at its original location. Also the fries and lobster roll were good. The Snickers Pie was a decent desert. The Original is what holds up the food rating. Service: The service was fine but we had a bit of waiting and we had to ask for the desert menu rather than have it offered. I also had to ask for water refills. Ambiance: As much as I had nostalgia for the Washington Blvd location, eating your meal while overlooking the marina is far superior. This is a great location that the owners are really using to its best for the square footage of this place. The building holds the Killer Cafe (breakfast place) and a Speakeasy (bar). It is a great location. Relatively clean bathroom.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and all the food made us feel so happy—it was truly delicious and definitely worth coming back for. The service was also very thoughtful, as the staff even changed our plates midway through the meal. However, the only disappointment came at the end. We had ordered a skewer dish that never arrived, so we reminded the server. He told us we hadn’t ordered it, so we placed the order again. Later, when the bill came, we saw two skewers charged. We explained to the server that we had only ordered one. After checking, he came back and told us in a very serious tone that he had given us two, but since we had raised the issue, he wouldn’t pursue it further. The problem is—we really only received and ate one skewer! When the server left with an unhappy attitude, it left us feeling that such a wonderful meal ended on a very unfortunate note.
Used to come here regularly for the Grilled Caesar that had such a wonderful char taste. Gordon Ramsey doesn't know crap about it! Lol\n\nSadly... it's been removed from the menu.

Nice spot for breakfast. On the water . Service excellent. Very large venue , never had dinner there. Plenty of parking. Went there twice
Gotta get past the horrific check in service where the hostess handles everything and everyone terrible. Zero customer service which is a shame because once you are seated, the wait staff is great and the food phenomenal. One other thing: I asked for the manager because our check in with the hostess was so horrible.....I'm still waiting for the manager to show up and acknowledge me. It really is a shame because the food is top notch. But wow, customer service is bad .
My husband and and I make it a point to eat here everytime we are in LA. This was the worst experience we've had. This time we had our 9 year old granddaughter with us. After we were seated, no one came to our table for at least 10 minutes. I had to go back to hostess stand to ask who our server was. The hostess said she would get the server. To our surprise, it was an person that had walked past our table several times. When she came over she never apologized or even acknowledged the wait. She just asked if we were ready to order. Our granddaughter asked for chocolate milk and the server said they didn't have it. My husband asked if the had regular milk and chocolate syrup. Then she said yes, I guess we can make chocolate milk. My husband and I got our food after a few minutes, but our granddaughter's food did not come out(she ordered fried shrimp and fries). Her food was taking so long, we had to feed her from our plates. Finally, the server came back and said the manager is "looking into it". By the time her food came, my husband and I were done eating and she was already full from eating our food. They also didn't warn her about how hot the shrimp was and she burnt her finger trying to remove it from the skewer. As we were sitting there, a manager came by and ask how we we doing. I glumly said, "Ok." He said , "Great!" and moved on to the next table. He never addressed our situation or that fact that we were just doing "ok". I really like the food here, but I don't think I'll be back. This is not an acceptable way to treat patrons.
Where do I start! The food was ok. The impossible burger was dry the Philly was ok, my son’s Mac and cheese was very good (real Mac) my issue was the service. Bernie was our waiter and he seemed to be in a rush! My husband asked him for ranch and he grabbed a container of ranch from another table and put it on our table. Once our food arrived, I asked him for another ranch because I need one, and he did bring up to the attention that there was one already on the table. I had to clarify that that’s my husband and I needed my own 10 minutes later after I see him talking to other tables (personal conversations) and I remind him of my ranch. He looks at me with an attitude and tells me it’s coming ma’am! Not too far from there another gentleman brings me my ranch very nice and friendly, and when I asked what was the waiters name when Bernie. When it was time for the bill to be paid He’s at his attitude completely changed he was more (thank you) for very other word, it’s a pleasure here is some to go containers, more attentive not like I was acting before and made sure to put his name in the tip amount. We are from out of town and the experience was not pleasant. We felt very unwelcomed and for this reason. We will never come back!
I took my family for dinner. We were 7 in total and we were charged for a “big party size” I paid around 80-100$ for service fees. It was disappointing as they only checked up on us once after they brought up the food.
We stopped in on a Saturday morning for a light breakfast. They have seating outside, along the pier, for nice views. The fruit bowl was nice and filled with fresh fruits. The Killer Tots were incredible, tasty, and spicy… yum! But the service was mediocre. We sat and waited about 15 mins and our server never returned, so I got up, sought out another server and asked for my bill, which I got, but they gave me no pen to sign it with. Overall, food for our visit was decent, but service – nahhhh….
Experience was good overall and some of the staff were great though service was rather slow, but the prices were steep and the portions were quite small. We had the “Lobster” Mac N Cheese Croquettes, which were tasty but notably missing any remnant of lobster. Plus $19 for 5 uneven, golf-ball sized bites is a wild. The Killer “Peel and Eat” Shrimp well seasoned, a good size and decent portion but could’ve been cleaned better (deveined). The PEI mussels were a bit disappointing as large number were empty shells. Was worth a try. Could’ve just been an off day too.
Order was a cobb salad (short on bacon and meat) it was more like an ice burg salad. Ahi Tune Poke was good, decent especially the won tons. An orde of blackened salmon was ok. Have had better multiple times. The view was pretty swell but kinda limited with the many apartments and hotels. Service was kinda slow. Servers were friendly and fairly attentive.
They may need to update their health score. We sat by the window and saw at least 10 rats running around outside. Gross! The server was so sweet so I was too shy to tell her. Great service. Food …

Food was fine. waitress was lovely. The kids enjoyed their meals. It was a nice touristy place on the beach and convenient to our hotel.
Location is great. It's by the water looking down to the marina, atmosphere is great, chilling and relaxing. If you get a chance to sit out in the terrace area, you will definitely appreciate the fresh air with a peaceful environment. However, if you are looking for bank for the buck, this is not the restaurant you want to go. You are paying for the location and outdoor table settings. The main shrimp dish called "Killer Shrimp" is their famous and signature dish. But when the dish comes out, you may be surprised by how small amount of shrimps there were. Taste and quality of food is so so. Nothing too special. Receptionist was less professional. And our server could have been more attentive to her customers.
Beautiful balcony and location but the food was below average. 1) The coffee was served cold on very dirty cup 2) I ordered fresh orange juice and received grapefruit juice 3) The crab cakes dish looks good but taste so bad, do not suggest it at all. The avocado toast plate was good and the pancakes 🥞 was delicious.
So many wrongs in 1 visit. First, hostess was rude. We were a party of 2 and she gave us a face as if it was an inconvenience to seat us. We get sat right in front of the door leading to the outside area which was wide open so it was cold. Second, our server comes and asks what we want to drink. We come to realize we never got a drink menu from the hostess so he goes to get us one. We had already waited a bit to be seen so we told the server our food order and asked for him to come back for our drinks and he did. Third, it took nearly 40 minutes for our food to come. Thankfully I ordered an appetizer but by the time it came out, the app was long gone and our drinks were empty without ever an ask for refills or anything else. Fourth, our food comes and my side salad was the oldest, most wilted arugula ever. I thought maybe it was under the heat lamp too long but I tasted it and it was disgusting. I asked the server for another and he brought me a fresh salad. Everything was just generally bad. Yes it was busy when we got there but we did not wait to be seated and by the time we left which only took long because of how long we waited for our food, we were one of the few people left. Tables around us however that got seated after us had gotten their dinners and left well before we got to. Our orders weren't complicated ones, they were the original killer shrimp. This was the first time we've had such an experience and it was an embarrassing one at that because we came for a birthday dinner outing. We're second guessing coming again now.
Food was ok, nothing to remember or to go back for. Service was great and the staff is friendly. The lobster roll was good but small. The chowder and the clams were just ok. The bread was cold and kind of bad. The fries were soggy. This place has a lot of potential since the view is spectacular but the food needs improvement. Prices don’t match the quality of the food.
Had a subpar experience here, and I’m not one to complain much or send food back…but, felt I needed to vent a bit and write a review on this place. Food was actually quite good, compliments to the chef(s). Wait staff was friendly, but very slow and extremely inattentive. Had what looked to be a pubic hair in my paella, and notified the staff. They took my dish and made another which came out about 20-25 minutes later (after my dinner companion was already finished). New paella dish wasn’t presented well—whatever, not a big deal to me. No apology. No manager came out and apologized. Time for the check. Of course, I expected some sort of discount or comped meal. Check has no discount. I tell the waitress I thought I’d get something for my inconvenience, wasted time and poor dining experience. She got the manager, who came over and was very condescending…acting like it was totally reasonable/normal to have pubes in your food 😆. The little weasel-lookin’ dude asked what sort of discount I expected, which seemed funny to ask. I said “at least half of my meal”. He scoffed and was like “best I will do is 10% off”. “We made you a fresh, hot dish…and yeah you spent another 25 minutes here”. lol, so weird. I’m not from the area, so maybe this is normal treatment to customers around here… Anyway, really kinda put a damper on an otherwise nice evening. Biggest issue to me was the lack of an apology, the wasted time and condescension of the manager…what a poor example to set.
Overpriced. Slow service. Okay food. The original killer shrimp with crab legs was overall good. The crab legs and soup were good however the shrimp in it weren't fresh/tasty. The clam soup was ok. The place felt filthy. Greasy table. Cloth napkin came with a ton of lint. I'm not a person who is very particular about cleanliness and even for me it felt unclean. There was only 1 waitress for like 15+ tables and as such the service was slow. $100 (including tip) for 2 dishes and 1 side of veggies.
Killer on the shrimp but overhyped. Good service and ambience but I would not rate 5/5 on food. The killer sauce/ curry as mentioned did not seem like a 10 hour secret recipe. Sorry but I was disappointed. We had the Killer lobster, shrimp and crab (served in a massive bowl of killer broth + sea food + corn) and the Penne Pasta Arrabbiatta with shrimp. The only good part is the fresh sea food, the breeze and views and sweet service. Drinks! Yes try their killer cocktail specialities.
This was.my first and last time there. The service was mediocre at best. The people were friendly but the the service.... So we ordered appetizers and drinks first. When they brought them to the table they didn't bring appetizer plates, we had to ask for them. 20 minutes later our entree orders still had not been taken. We had to ask an employee to get our server so we could order. The manager comes to the table to take our order. We didn't see our original server anymore until she brought the bill to the table Once our food began to come to the table it came a plate or two at a time. My daughter ordered the Original Killer Shrimp and it was disgusting. The sauce was watery tasted like flavored water. When the bill came there was a $72 gratitude fee added to the bill. I asked it to be removed because of the service and the manager stated "so I gave you bad service ". The sad part is that he doesn't understand that the fact that you had to step in as our server was bad in itself. I expressed I didn't want to pay the gratuity and he threatened with the police. He said you will pay me or the sheriff. Really Michael...😐
I recently visit Killer Shrimp for the very first time and I was a little disappointed. The place has a parking lot that it’s all valet parking, you have to pay $10 + tip to park there. They have another parking lot in the back that’s free but I don’t understand why are they charging to park at their own parking lot which is really big. The place smells really fishy, and not the good fish smell that comes from the dishes. The hosts are very young girls that don’t have any training, they’re not very welcoming or helpful. The food itself was good! Specially the shrimp dishes, I ordered some fish tacos and they were very plain and found myself needing a lot of salt for it. The bathrooms are very dirty, which is very surprising for a restaurant that has very expensive dishes. There was water everywhere on the sinks and the smell was just bad. Overall I wouldn’t recommend going to this restaurant. You can find better places for the price.

The worst service I've ever had! The rude little male server made me not trust eating anything he came in contact with. He did everything he could to avoid waiting on my table.

Super disappointed! This restaurant in Marina Del Rey has changed for the worse. The service was super slow(20 mins) before someone came to take our order for drinks and our alcoholic beverages(Peach Sangrias and a Lemon Drop Martini) were watered down; It was 30-40 mins before we received just a "partial" order of our appetizers. We waited an additional 20 mins for the remaining ordered appetizers to arrive to our table; Our order of fried calamari, crab cakes and shrimp were cooked in old oil( you could tell because the batter on our food was dark and dull. Fresh batter has a light and airy coloration); It took an additional 10 mins to receive appetizer plates and I had to go and get them; and the restaurant was just unsanitary. See the photos. If this is what it looks like on the front line, imagine what it looks like "behind the scene." Dinner(the blackened Salmon) was just ok. On top of everything else, our waitress was rude and out of order. She "blabbed" and ruined a personal surprise that was not hers to tell. Killer Shrimp, you have got to do better! ***Occurred on Sunday, 7/16/2023 for a party of 6 people.****
Terrible service. They sat us down and no one ever approached our table. I was seeing a server walk past us and helping others who where sitting around but he never approached our table. After 30 minutes I approached him and he told us to get out and talk to the manager. I didn't talk to the manager but I did talk to the girls in the front who were very kind. They asked us who our server was but I couldn't answer that because we were never approached. All I could say was that he was a shinny short man with a mustache serving by the kitchen area next to the windows.
I don’t leave reviews often but I feel I had to on this one. I’ve been here a few times and aerobics was ok. Food was ok. Nothing special but it’s close to our marina and we thought we’d try it for breakfast. I lost total interest after looking at our food. Rock hard sausage, no taste hash browns and they were mushy inside. No flavor at all. We requested bacon as a replacement for the sausage and they were 90 percent fat and not cooked to the point of them being floppy and wet. We did mention this and it appeared the owner came and took $7 off. No excuse for this
Look, I thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. But when they over cooked my steak, they took it back. With my lobster. When they brought it back the lobster was cold and the steak was raw. See the attached picture. They then said they would reheat the lobster. The manager was polite except honestly I was irate that I was fed raw steak. Then, they bring me back new food.. with no fork. Last was the fact that the manager acknowledged my partner and I couldn’t eat together, fed me raw meat, and then we were still charged full price and asked for tip. We had only had good experiences until then. This was insanity. I got sick from eating the raw meat and spent the night in the restroom at home. I’m hoping upon next visit things are back to their normal decent self. Edit to add: when the food runner brought us our food, I explained the surf and turf was mine, he then put the wrong food in front of me, and put the second plate at a seat no one was sitting at across the table.
The photo I posted looked nice, but the reality was far from it. The place smelled like beer—definitely not classy or a pleasant spot to sit. It had no style whatsoever. It’s supposed to be the kind of place where you get fresh, delicious seafood, but that was not the case. We ordered a fish stew—lobster, shrimp, and crab—for $49, and it was honestly one of the most disgusting meals I’ve ever had. The broth was tasteless and downright gross. It was like eating water from a garbage bin. What’s wrong with them? Overall, it felt like nobody cared—neither the chef nor the servers. It was half empty on a Saturday afternoon, which says a lot. Maybe this place was good years ago, but now it’s just dirty, old, and horrible. Avoid it.

If you’re strolling along the harbor and craving something truly unique and utterly satisfying, this is where you need to drop anchor.Let's talk about the star of the show: those "Tiny Sea Creatures in spicy sauce." Killer Shrimp: Marina's Enduring Comfort Catch
Killer Shrimp, a name that echoes with a bit of nostalgia for many Angelenos, has comfortably settled into its Marina Del Rey spot. For those who remember, it's a place that carries a bit of history, evolving from a small, fantastic strip-mall joint on Washington Blvd. to its current, more expansive digs by the water. The heart of Killer Shrimp, undeniably, is their signature shrimp bowl. Folks who fondly recall the old Studio City location or the original Washington Blvd. spot still rave abou
