In a world where it feels like cafes, coffee shops, and restaurants no longer care about service with a smile, Café Mia is the exception. Not only is the food & coffee good, but thanks to Horace (the owner) the service is exceptional. Ask for the daily special, there seems to be a daily rotation of food item specials. One of the kindest, most welcoming, and hospitable customer service experiences I’ve had in a long while!

We are from out of town and had to come back on our way to the airport!! Sitting here now listening to some Hillsong music and drinking the most delicious latte. The pastries are phenomenal (Cherry croissant, cheese danish. Strawberry almond croissant)! The quiche and breakfast burrito are so yummy! We will definitely be returning here when in town! We are visiting our injured marine, and the daily devotion reading at the display case was so on point that I’m thinking it was Divine intervention that we were lead here. The atmosphere is A+ and the owner and staff are lovely.

Turmeric latte for the win! Great service, reminds me of the cafe scene in the 90s (in a good way). Extensive food selection. Be budget ready for $15 specialty juices though.

The breakfast burrito is a gift. I travel a lot for work, I’ve eaten a lot of breakfast burritos all over California. That burrito had a great Smokey salsa, onions that had a nice grilled sweetness, and just perfect eggs and potatoes. It made a mess on my shirt while I was driving, but if that’s the cost of the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had I’ll start buying shirts in 3 packs. The coffee was great, with great service and the people were very kind with a great atmosphere. I’ll be back next time.

I love walking into a place and fill the warmth Of the staff. Normally, I’d order a straight up coffee, but I was craving something sweet and had a frappe. It was delicious! Unlike Corporate coffee joints that taste like chemicals. Plus, I’ve had great energy since! I’m gonna make a point to go back even though I’m a couple towns over.

I am on a solo trip and I found this place just off google and I enjoyed the coffee and food very much. I also enjoyed that it felt more local and everyone enjoyed each other’s presence. The man who seemingly has been here for 18 years was so friendly and overall seemed happy to be here and when I ordered he said “What would you love?”. I thought that was nice and different. When I come back around this area, I will be coming here again!

Great place in Marina to enjoy breakfast! The breakfast burritos were great here, the manager was kind enough to accommodate our substitutions of eggs with potatoes. Recommend having a meal here before exploring Monterey or the locals!

Wonderful breakfast sandwich, quiche, and delicious biscuits and gravy. Great coffee and matcha. Extremely friendly owners, would come back here every time I'm in the area.

Cafe Mia has fantastic food, drinks, and service. Family run business, the owner spoke with us and everything is made with heart. The house made juices are so delicious!

The real deal. Very friendly service, excellent coffee options (including very reasonably-priced, truly good pour-overs), with a clear love of coffee and of people driving everything. A truly fine spot for coffee.

Excellent service. We stopped on our way north. Our coffee was custom brewed. Awesome pastries. Not easy to find or much parking but worth the trouble.

On service and friendliness alone I'd give this place 5 stars. But the drinks are awesome and the food is pretty good (I'd say, a bit more for a lighter palette, whereas I prefer a bit more heavily seasoned). I'm not from here, but feels like a local family-run institution!

If you are in the Marina, CA area looking for a delicious breakfast, brunch, or lunch, do not pass go … do not collect $200 (well, unless someone’s offering it to you no strings attached) … and go straight to Café Mia! Located in an unassuming strip mall, this little gem offers some of the tastiest breakfast dishes, quiches, sandwiches, baked goods, and morning drinks, you’ll find anywhere. Plus, a very friendly staff, and the owner (Horace) is such a great guy. If you’re lucky, you’ll be there at just the right time to hear him masterfully blast out some calls on his genuine Ram’s horn Shofar. But, it’s definitely the food that will have you hooked on this place. I’ve been there three times with the Cavegirls and have yet to be even slightly disappointed. The lox plate (not pictured, unfortunately) was loaded with fish and features a fresh bagel, tomato and onion slices,, capers, and deli-style cream cheese. The Egg Volcano is a unique and scrumptious take on the traditional omelette; stuffed with spinach, cheese, peppers, onion, choice of meat (I went with sausage), topped with sour cream, salsa, and avocado. The Breakfast Panini is packed with eggs, cheese, and breakfast meat on a fresh buttery croissant panini-style. The Veggie Quiche is like a mouthwatering eggy-cheesy-veggie-filled personal-size pie. The Caprese Panini is a tasty toasty “saladwich”. While the Cubano Panini is one of the best versions of a Cuban sandwich I’ve ever had with homemade juicy and savory pulled pork, Black Forest ham, swiss cheese, sliced pickles, and a Dijon mustard and mayo spread. They also offer a wide variety of amazing baked goods. Oh, did I mention that their prices are completely reasonable? 🤷🏼‍♂️ No matter what you choose, you can’t go wrong at this local hang.

Really good paninis. I also had the Greek toast and it was mind blowing! The sizes in the pics are left overs that I took to the beach. The portion size will fill one person up for sure.

My wife and I went here to grab a bite to eat and coffee before going to my older brother's memorial service down the way. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but we were both beyond pleased with the entire experience! While we were deciding what to get, the chef came out to tell me about all of the amazing options he had as specials for the day! The host at the counter was wonderfully respectful, courteous, and attentive throughout our brief little brunch. I grabbed a hot chocolate to-go for my sister, and he made sure to clarify that I hadn't ordered it for my wife (she is dairy free), and I thought that was an amazing gesture of kindness and consideration! Lovely place, phenomenal food, great atmosphere, killer staff; 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area looking for something new and nutritious to eat, or even just a good cup of coffee. We will definitely be making this one of regular places to eat for whenever we're in the area.

Five stars out of five for the employees of this establishment! On the day we visited, we were getting work done on our vehicle and we starving. We crossed the street and headed over to Cafe Mia for a sandwich and coffee. Unfortunately, a transformer had blown on their side of the street and the power was out. Fortunately, they still made us sandwiches, finding a way to heat the meat inside. So while the bread may not have been toasted, we were still treated to a fabulous breakfast. I had a cold iced chai and my wife had a lavender lemonade, both of which were fantastic as well. Despite all the setbacks a blackout can cause, regardless of the stressful atmosphere it created, these employees were exactly what you would want as a consumer AND as an employer. There was enough daylight to sit inside, but we enjoyed the patio instead. Also, their restrooms were clean. Luckily we live in a time where we have pocket flashlights in our cellphones!

This place is a hidden gem… the food is just incredible! I had to get the breakfast burrito twice because of how good they make it. The Volcano is packed with flavor and ingredients. The pork belly is just phenomenal. And best of all, they’re so welcoming and make it feel like home. Definitely coming back!

Charming coffee shop, clean, cozy, and well kept. The customer service was excellent, making us feel warmly welcomed. My husband and I shared a lox bagel, while our kids enjoyed a breakfast burrito and an almond chocolate croissant…everything was fresh and delicious. We also ordered lattes: I had the lavender, and my husband chose the vanilla. Both were perfectly made and full of flavor. Overall, a wonderful experience…we’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area!

Such a cozy neighborhood coffee shop. The pastries here are too die for I really had to exercise restraint with this chocolate croissant. Tons of breakfast options and even lunch too. Latte was silky and smooth. Love it !

We had the opportunity to passing through the California State in JUN_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience be in the Café Mia Brew Bar & Bistro, a great opportunity to learn more about Mexican cousine. The owner, Horace, works register and he's an absolute delight. Very charming, very sweet, overall amazing attitude. He clearly loves what he does. They take the time to learn your name also. Came with roommates, we got 2 breakfast paninis, one with chorizo and one with vegetables, and a Caprese panini. They were all delicious, definitely want to go again and try more!!

Great food!! We were at Carmel by the Sea which can get busy for breakfast, nap we decided to venture out.. found this gem not so far away and was glad we did. The owner was super friendly and very accommodating. I asked if it was too early for fish and his response was, it's never too early... He made me this amazing grilled salmon with jalepenos. my wife asked about tamales that he then suggested to try it with an egg since it was breakfast, and it was delicious If you are in the area or somewhat close, give this place a try. Only caveat to be aware of, they don't take cards, so cash or Venmo to pay

We enjoyed great food and coffee and most of all the excellent, friendly and funny service. Great quality of ingredients. Their Greek avocado toast is so balanced. I added and egg to mine. The burrito has plenty of good veggies.

The service and atmosphere were outstanding. I saw one negative review claiming that they didn't treat non-locals or minorities well, but the customers were more than 50% minorities and I'm assuming tourists, like me. All the people working there were super friendly. The food itself was pretty good, but don't watch them making the volcano eggs. I had one of my favorite chai's ever. The Mexican mocha was also good.

Cute little cafe, on the way back to the bay from Carmel. Looked like a family owned business and the owner who also took our order, had such a welcoming demeanour and the biggest smile. We instantly felt comfortable. There are a bunch of tables inside the cafe as well as some outside if you prefer to sit in the sun. They probably have the biggest pastries I have ever seen. We got some coffee, which was pretty good. We also got the banana bread which was a little doughy but was the right amount of sweetness.

The food here is genuinely delicious, and the coffee’s solid too. That said, this place gets busy—expect a wait if you’re dining in, and order ahead if you’re doing pickup. Only saw three people running the whole restaurant, so things moved slowly and our food took quite a while. There were also a few questionable moments with kitchen hygiene, like not washing hands after picking something up off the floor, and one staff member eating while working. On the plus side, there’s plenty of parking and some nice outdoor seating.

🙅🏾‍♀️If you're a person of color and not from this town, you're better off going somewhere else. There is such irony in their mission statement: “It’s all about the Love. Love of God, food, coffee, community, and customers.” I did not feel this at all from my experience here; the owner and workers need to reevaluate how they treat ALL people and see if they’re really living up to their mission statement. I'm all about supporting local businesses; that's why I came to this cafe after seeing the 4 1/2 star reviews on Yelp. After my dad and my recent experience here, I decided to read the actual Google reviews and Yelp reviews and although some raved about this establishment, there were the minority who mentioned the same thing about the mistreatment of people of color and Yelp reviews of complaints of long wait time and preferential treatment of locals and their particular favorites. 👎🏽This cafe gives unwelcoming vibes to people who are not locals and people of color, particularly brown in color. I went here with my family after the Handcar Tour the other day, so tourists beware. With this cafe’s lukewarm, sub par coffee, dirty looks from their female server, 15 to 20-minute wait time to get a sandwich to-go (that happened to be disgusting) and defensive, curt replies, and disingenuous smile from their apparent owner to my dad, I'd give them 0 stars. The way they treated us made this part of our road trip very disheartening💔. It surprised me that there are still some small towns in California who treat outsiders and people of color this way. When I found out the Handcar Tour is permanently closing in August due to politics, it was all starting to make sense… This cafe won’t have to worry about having their customers after that anymore, but I pray that they will receive conviction on how they treat ALL people and rethink who they choose to represent their business and live out their mission statement.
