Posto davvero incantevole, con un allestimento storico che conferisce un carattere unico e affascinante. L’atmosfera è calda e accogliente. Il cibo è ottimo, curato nei dettagli e nei sapori. Una menzione speciale va al gelato artigianale, semplicemente strepitoso! Il personale è estremamente professionale e attento. Il titolare si è dimostrato molto accogliente, trasmettendo passione e ospitalità. Anche la ragazza in sala è stata gentilissima, disponibile e molto preparata. Consigliatissimo, tornerò sicuramente!
Pizzeria ristorante fantastico, sembra di essere entrati nell'epoca dei galeoni e caravelle. Personale Top, gentilezza, precisione, velocità. Ho preso la pizza e ho spizzicato un po di gusti, impasto fantastico e condimenti abbondanti.
Un luogo suggestivo che ricorda un vascello, particolare e caratteristico ma anche raffinato. Cibo squisito, di ottima qualità, tra tradizione e innovazione. Bello per una cena romantica piuttosto che per una serata tra amici. Dalla pizza al baccalà passando per il peperpne crusco. Elemento caratteristico della cucina lucana che ritroviamo dall'antipasto al dolce . Squisito e profumatissimo anche il pane al grano arso panificato da loro stessi. Una cantinadi vini molto fornita. Consigliatissimo anche per celiaci.

Bel locale nel centro storico di Matera. All'interno di un "sasso" rimodernato a dovere ma con sapiente uso di materiali ed arredi antichi. La cucina è molto. Buona, tipica Materana con qualche vezzo dello chef, che non guasta mai. Degno di nota il pane ( di una bontà unica) le. Orecchiette ed i peperoni cruschi.
Ci sarebbe da dire moltissimo . Sarò breve . Serata in cui il locale era pienissimo . Non avevamo prenotato . Personale gentilissimo , di una gentilezza spontanea e generosa . Con molta gentilezza riescono a farci sedere , tavolino stupendo nella stradina principale . Ordiniamo un antipasto di formaggi e marmellate r peperoni cruschi, e un primo , ci fanno presente che sono extra pieni e sarebbe meglio che intanto mangiassimo antipasto nonostante avessimo chiesto il primo insieme all’ antipasto . Accettiamo ben volentieri … erano stati gentilissimi già a farci sedere . C’era un evento privato con circa 160 persone solo all’interno 😅. Antipasto di formaggi ottimo , arriva il primo ottimo ! Dolce buono . Vino top 🔝. Nuovamente si scusano per il servizio più lento del solito . Ma abbiamo compreso la situazione e tutto comunque è stato ben gestito e non eccessivamente lento . Il cibo era tutto buono e di qualità. Le tartare non erano condite, ma quella di tonno andava bene così, si sentiva che era una primizia. I primi sono davvero molto buoni, delicati, ma allo stesso tempo molto gustosi e particolari. Il servizio mi ha convinto meno, anche se poi ci hanno offerto il caffè, quindi ok. La location è molto particolare, dentro sembra aver ricostruito una barca piratesca… e siamo nel mezzo dei sassi di Matera. Nel locale un po’ tutto richiama la vita marittima da pirata, i piatti la richiamano un po’ meno.
Un posto come questo meriterebbe 5 stelle solo per la location, poi inizi ad assaggiare le loro portate e capisci di aver fatto bingo! Qualità davvero eccellente dall’inizio alla fine! Tutto organizzato al meglio, molto elegante e professionale. Ottimo in compagnia ma anche per una cenetta a lume di candela. Davvero i miei complimenti!

Il proprietario del locale si è dimostrato davvero molto gentile e disponibile nello spiegarci la preparazione e gli ingredienti dei piatti tipici locali. Rapporto qualità prezzo buono. Consigliato!
Siamo capitati per caso in questo meraviglioso ristorantino..... Molto carino, personale gentile e sorridente... Cibo ottimo... Abbiamo provato un po' di tutto... Gli antipasti molto buoni con generose porzioni... Altrettanto per i secondi... Sia il pesce che la carne molto buona... I bimbi hanno preso le pizze... Eccezionali... Con un impasto veramente croccante e soffice allo stesso tempo... Se torneremo a Matera sicuramente torneremo.... Lo consiglio per chi vuole trascorrere una serata all'insegna del buon cibo...
Abbiamo scelto questo ristorante proprio per mangiare la pizza di grano arso cercando suggerimenti su Tripadvisor. Il locale è molto carino all'interno e si presenta con un arredamento che richiamano un galeone. Volevamo provare la pizza di grano arso e abbiamo preso la pizza più costosa (20€) completa di specialità locali (peperoni cruschi, funghi cardoncelli, cicorie, broccoletti, salsiccia pezzente, ed una mozzarella di bufala intera) il prezzo era giustificato dagli ingredienti, tutti buonissimi, anche se, devo dire, la mozzarella non era niente di speciale. Abbiamo preso anche una forma di pane da mezzo chilo con all'interno cicorie ripassate e purea di fave, portata molto buona e molto scenica, cicoria e fave erano Saporite il pane di Matera buono. Va bene Abbiamo preso due birre locali artigianali del birrificio birfoot di Matera, molto adatte ad accompagnare la pizza
Luogo suggestivo. Abbiamo cenato all'interno e il personale ci ha controllato il green pass direttamente al tavolo, cosa decisamente molto apprezzabile. Vino eccellente, così come i piatti tipici che abbiamo ordinato. Personale attento alle esigenze del cliente, professionale e disponibile. Prezzo finale adeguato, considerando che solo la bottiglia di vino scelta, su consiglio esperto della cameriera, aveva il costo di €20. Senz'altro consigliato.
Al momento è il miglior ristorante dove ho mangiato a Matera. Piatti deliziosi e ricercati nel gusto, servizio veloce e preciso. Prezzo secondo me corretto vista la qualità, un po' alte forse le bevande, la birra forst proposta al prezzo di una artigianale. In tre, antipastone diviso in due, due primi, un secondo (polpo da 22€, ci stava tutto era un polpo intero) acqua, abbiamo speso 80€. Lì rispenderei volentieri.
Il posto è accogliente ed il personale affabile e gentile... I piatti, dalla pizza agli antipasti ai primi tutto buonissimo. Punta di diamante Dora, simpatica, professionale e preparatissima 💯 Che dire, super consigliato!

Very pleasant dining experience. Service was to be commended. Staff were friendly, attentive & professional. Food was well executed and tasty. Classic orecchiette with cime di rape, tiramisu and a lovely glass of house white wine. Pizzas on the nearby table looked delicious. Would definitely recommend dining at this restaurant.

Fantastic selection of food and incredible quality They were able to accommodate a large group at the last second. The staff had to deal with two allergies (shellfish and gluten) and did it masterfully. We were so happy to sit in such a cozy area and have delicious pizza and drinks.
We had dinner, without reservations, and the wait was 15 minutes. We sat outside but the inside was beautiful as well. We tried two pizzas (diavola and Margherita) and they were both excellent.
I just had a wonderful lunch, Strascinati Crusco, Margherita and to drink Verbo Bian Calice in, perfetto!! Beautiful restaurant and excellent service. I truly recomend to pay a visit. Grazie Mille Shai
This is a comfortable and unique place for a meal. The house wine was nice. The staff was helpful in picking out a flavorful pasta dish with peppers Crusco and Caciocavallo cheese. We were easily sold on desert when told the ice cream was made in house and came with a whiskey caramel sauce!
Really great place for an evening chatting, enjoying life and good food. We had the local pizza with crushed peppers and the tuna tartaki, both excellent. The tiramisu is different than the classic but even more delicious. The waiters & the manager are very fast in service, very friendly and r gave us recommendations for the next day :) Ps: pizza is possible with lactose free cheese and with gluten free flour
We landed in Matera on a very extreme weather day, plus it was Sunday so seem like everything was deserted & then we found only this place open around the other restaurant that our hotel recommended. Interiors has some nice & authentic appeal, with some history. We were been served well by the staff , staff was very cordial despite us not knowing Italian and food was very nice, we were hungry too after all day of travel and drenching in rain. We had ordered vegetarian pizza with eggplant & grilled courgette, strascinati pasta, potatoes with rosemary. In desserts tiramisu and pistachio icecream with crumble of crusco pepper. Highly recommend Strascinati pasta with peppers Crusco and Caciocavallo cheese. Even tiramisu was decently good. I wanted to try other vegetarian pasta too but we were too full. If you are in Matera, this place can be tried out for one of the meals. They have very big space even outdoors so it will be perfect lunch setting sitting outside in heart of sassi.
The staff from the hotel I stayed at in Matera recommended @morganristorante as one of the dinner spots for us, and I’m so glad I took the suggestion. The restaurant decor is very interesting and even though very spacious, it was soon filled with people a couple hours after opening. Every dish was delicious, but the pork tenderloin with pear entree was amazing. The pork was so perfectly cooked and went so well with the sweet pear. The local Matera style bread is also quite different from those of other regions in Italy. They came in a brown bag instead of a basket, which I thought was cute!
This is the kind of food I was looking for in the area! We already ate in many tourist traps, this is definitely not one of them. Authentic, but with small twists (The Trucioli di Grano Arso!), special and so well executed. And the service of both waitresses was extremely good! Ciao from Israel.
It's very easy to end up in an tourist trap when in Matera, specially in the hot summer months, but this restaurant is an oasis in the middle of a panini nightmare. Great dishes, superb wine list and very attentive staff.
The restaurant is in the centre of the Sassi, ideal for a break during your visit of Matera. Staff was nice and accommodating, food is good and the prices are fair. Differently from many restaurants and bars in Rome or Northern Italy, they don't take advantage of tourists inflating the prices. In the summertime you can also eat in the patio enjoying the view of the Sassi. Lovely restaurant, have to disagree with the negative reviews I read before writing this one.
Great food, location and service! The pizza was fantastic and it arrived around 5 mins after we ordered. There are a few tables outside so a reservation is a must. In addition the prices are very reasonable compared to the quality you get. There is a also a 2 EUR service fee. I would also note that the restaurant opens at 19:30 .

Il ristorante si trova a Matera in zona centrale . Il locale è molto carino con tavoli anche all`esterno . Ottimo servizio e professionalità del personale. Buono il cibo , consiglio.
Ottimo ristorante sito nella zona dei Sassi di Matera. Buona selezione di vini. Antipasti che propongono le specialità del luogo così come le restanti portate. Se volete rimanere sul semplice, anche le pizze sapranno stupirvi. Staff sempre puntuale e cortese. Prezzi nella media. Possibilità di cenare all’esterno. Consigliato!
Una giornata speciale a Matera ,meta scelta e desiderata da tempo ...,la bellezza del luogo lascia incantati e rapiti ,se poi ci aggiungi un buon pasto diventa una vera emozione del gusto ... Morgan era nella lista delle location per il pranzo , dopo salite e discese siamo approdati nel covo dei pirati.ogni gradino nelle viscere della terra una nuova sorpresa ...,spettacolare la sala con una bella tavola inbandita all interno di un vero vascello ...la cantina dei vini ,un forziere ben rifornito e custodito ..accoglienza e apertura al cliente come a casa. Ironia e disponibilità alle nostre richieste non sono mancate ..i primi piatti dal sapore nostrano, molto apprezzati ,come il pane fatto da loro e la pizza con il grano arso .Morgan lascia una traccia e una una rotta per noi , insieme a Matera e i suoi sassi ..grazie a presto 😘
Bella location, posizione ottima. La pizza non ci ha convinto, il condimento era molto liquido ma penso sia stata più una svista, comunque l’impasto era buono. La pizza senza glutine invece buona, ma l’impasto non era dei migliori. Probabilmente conviene optare più per la cucina tipica che per la pizza.
The food is really good especially the Pizza with truffle..The ambience is nice and cozy..The staff are nice and very attentive..
Amazing pizza. Really fresh with good ingredients. Waiters were attentive and kind. Potatoes with rosemary were fabulous, crispy and soft inside. Only down side is one of the pizzas was quite heavy handed with oil. There was puddles of it on the pizza I got, but my friends was not like this, so maybe it depends on the pizza, or was a once off. Otherwise brilliant food at a reasonable price!
Great spot! We ended up here because all the other places needed reservations. With tough competition around, this place is perfect for a quick bite and a few drinks.
Great restaurant with fantastic pizzas! You have a choice of 3-4 different types of pizza base or crust. Unfortunately for us, this is the only chance we had to visit this restaurant and their menu is so extensive that it would have been nice to try other food items from the menu but we’ll just have to visit Matera again. Oh, had a great dessert also. Highly recommend this restaurant when in Matera.
Good, but the most expensive meal I’ve had in my six days in Puglia & Matera so far. Strange thing is that I was told that the pasta with local truffles would be €5 more today. This was not marked on the menu or told in advance: made me think it was a “foreigner surcharge” (even though I speak Italian).
Owner does a great job bringing an old ship inside a Matera vaulted restaurant. With over 30 years overseeing hospitality in Asia, Europe and North America...this is a fun place. What sets it apart…
We really enjoyed this restaurant. We haven’t boys aged 9 and 12 and their pizzas were outstanding. We had more traditional dishes and lived them for something different! Great service too

I went to Morgan restaurant last weekend. The staff is very rude to tourists. The pizza I ordered was not very tasty and did not have all the ingredients on the menu. The waiter brought us a bag of bread but no olive oil, the tables around us brought their oil. For the second course we ordered pasta and it was very tasty. For dessert we ordered tiramisu and it was very disappointing, it tasted like ordinary pudding. The wine I recommend the waiter was very good. I would not recommend it to tourists unless you go with the locals.
I rarely write reviews but I didn't feel welcome here at all. Maybe because we were tourists, but the waiter spoke like two words with us and looked very unhappy. No hello no goodbye not in English or Italian (and we always try to communicate in Italian first even though we only know a few words) When he came to collect our order he just looked at us. And the restaurant was half empty. As the picture of Mel Gibson in the Restaurant suggest, maybe we weren't good enough for the rustic place. the pizza was just ok... Really hard to cut as the knives weren't sharp at all.
