While we were in the area, we decided to check out this charming little cafe. It has a cozy atmosphere and the staff are genuinely friendly. We went with the sausage skillet and the chicken fried steak with gravy and biscuits. Both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. A great spot for a comforting meal!
Breakfast was fresh and the atmosphere is full of the nicest people working here. Laughter in the background. Super sweet locals eating breakfast too. My day is off to a great start.
Small, unassuming cafe on the ground floor of the McCloud Mercantile. I've eaten here a few times in the past but its been a while and I feel like the menu is different. I just ate the best breakfast I've had in a very long time! Chicken and Waffle. O. M. G. The chicken is brined then dipped in an amazing batter and deep fried - and so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside that you can cut it with a fork. The waffle was perfection, and the whole thing has a light drizzle of maple syrup and toasted pecans, then a poached egg right on top. I ate every crumb. My friend had the biscuits and gravy breakfast which she said was amazing also and certainly looked great- with very generous portions. The gravy had fresh herbs in it which gave it a very unique flavor, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and perfect in the center (she had the spuds, not hashbrowns). We washed it all down with a good cuppa joe and a glass of the AMAZING McCloud ice water. Very well done White Mountain Café!!
We stopped by here while in town exploring and the waitress was friendly. I ordered the pork belly bf but it was a little too much on the fatty side for me. That’s my bad cuz I hadn’t eaten pork belly before. Overall the rest of the items were delish and they had activities for the little kids- tic tac toe and coloring books with crayons. Cute, cozy place to check out while you’re passing through or stopping in town.
The best grilled cheese I've had in decades. Look at that crust! Glad I decided to check this place out.
Great new menu and even better food! The new owners put a ton of thought and love into their food and it shows! They are always trying new things and love supporting the community! We wish them the best on this new adventure!
We were there on a fairly hot July day (after going to the McCloud River Middle falls, highly recommend). We were looking for a quiet, comfortable, inviting place to eat. So so glad that we stopped in here! The service was absolutely excellent! That small town kind of friendly way that isn't easily found these days. The food was really good. Especially the house made pulled pork sandwich, mmmm! Even the "basic" burger was sooo delicious, old school style, not commercial, if you know what I mean. ....and the real, fresh made onion rings are fabulous! We're looking forward to going back there to try other items on their menu.
We love coming here. My husband has been coming to restaurants in this building since the 60’s. Love the ambience! The waitress was very efficient. Food good!
Got the eggs bacon hash browns added a pancake. It was excellent. Plenty of bacon and the hash browns were perfect. sure their other items were great.
Amazing food and atmosphere!!! Under new ownership and the menu looks delicious. Can't wait to try breakfast!
We stayed at the McCloud Mercantile Hotel & LOVED it. The hotel gives guests a $20/voucher for breakfast so we ate here. Good standard breakfast food with a view of Mt. Shasta.
We had a Korean- Southern chicken sandwich that was excellent! Creative and balanced, a little tangy, sweet, and spicy. Service was terrific, prices quite reasonable.

This place really impressed us with the service, it was our son’s birthday and they brought out his hot coca he ordered with a candle and sang him happy birthday, then they sent us home with 3 cupcakes for our 3 kids. Such a welcoming, like home little place. The food was also great! will definitely recommend and be back! ❤️
I was in McLeod For work and ended up having a half an hour to wait, on a random Thursday morning. They were the only place open in town and they had everything I needed. I got a fresh cup of coffee, hashbrowns, and a delicious cheese omelette. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes with a full belly and a cup of energy to get me through the day. They were fast, efficient and convenient. I’ll definitely be coming back here with the rest of my crew.
We went there right before closing (and an impending winter storm) and received a warm welcome and friendly service. The cheeseburger, grilled cheese, and chili were all very tasty! The atmosphere of the place is vintage cozy. We highly recommend it for breakfast or lunch while visiting McCloud!
We were visiting the Mt Shasta region this week. Our hunger coincided with passing by McCloud a couple times as we went on various day trips around the area. We found the food to be very good, the restaurant to be extremely clean, and the staff and owners quite friendly. There's a lot of attention to detail here. The first time we were lucky to stop by; the second time we made a point of timing things so we'd be back.
Wouldn’t have expected much from such a small town, but this was seriously the best breakfast I’ve had in quite a while! I got the country scramble. The sweetness of the caramelized onions and crispiness of the hash browns balanced beautifully with the savory sausage and peppers. The homemade biscuit was delicious too! I ate a little more than half and saved the rest for dinner. My husband had the country fried steak and said it was also good. Service was lovely too. Would definitely return!
If your looking for a quiet place in McCloud to enjoy a good quality meal this is it!! 😁 The menu was simple and not overwhelming which I loved ....and the staff was super friendly and accommodating anything I asked for I received with a smile.... Not only were they kind to me, but they were very friendly with each other.. is another thing I like to see... Overall I give the experience here a 10 out of 10

White Mountain Café in McCloud is a hidden gem that perfectly captures the charm of a small-town family diner. It’s the kind of place where locals come in regularly, and the staff treats everyone like family. The portions are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth. The food is classic American comfort food, made fresh and served hot. My kids absolutely love it, and it’s great knowing we can always count on a fulfilling meal here. What really stands out is the friendly, professional, and down-to-earth staff. The service is excellent—everyone is attentive, kind, and makes you feel right at home. It’s clear that this is a family-run business that takes pride in what they do. If you’re in McCloud and looking for a hearty meal in a welcoming, small-town setting, White Mountain Café is definitely worth a visit. We’ll absolutely be back!
Good food, although they ran out of their homemade sausage which was disappointing. Tried the huevos Ranchero. Pretty tasty, although the middle part (beans) could've been warmer.

Breakfast only till 11:00am. Salad was quality ingredients and size. Only a few desserts if there stove is working. Might not want to take a trip this far for just a salad or burger.
We had the Dlx bacon cheeseburger with fries and ranch and the monte cristo sandwich with fries. It took 40 minutes to recieve food. We had to ask where the food was and the waitress said kitchen was backed up and apologized for the delay. The burger tasted ok just average (comparable to a cafeteria burger). It would've been way better if there was some special sauce or something and the meat patty could have been thicker, it was just an average burger. Fries were hot and tasty and the ranch that we got with the fries tasted like it was from a bottle and not homemade. Drink cups are too small about 10oz minus ice space so I had to get lots of refills. The monte cristo sandwich was ok. The turkey in the sandwich had a funny flavor to it, like it was a litle old. Overall it was just ok and we feel if they were to just get the small details right it would have been way better. We wouldn't go back.
