I visited Merida for the first time with my family and was recommended this place by some friends that had just visited. I’m so glad they did because I ended up coming almost every night! The atmosphere is vibrant, the food is very good, and the staff and owners were very friendly and attentive. The music was spot on all night, 10/10 experience. Would highly recommend checking it out if you’re ever in Merida!!

We had such a fun night here with friends! The music was pumpin, we were dancing funky and they even handed out long balloons that we were waving in the air. It was an epic, fun atmosphere. Food was good too. Definitely go here to unwind, drink some great drinks and dance your heart out!

Quite a little gem, we found it out of the blue on google and so decided to give it a try. The drinks are plentiful and cheaply priced. The food portions were large and quite nice. They have live music later in the evening which we did not stay for as we had intended on having a quick bite and retire early. Service was good, value was excellent and sorry we missed the show.

This is one of the bars that you definitely should visit in Merida if your are going to be here for a few days, drinks are affordable, the food menu it’s good (I suggest you to try the cheese fingers), and the party atmosphere is great. TIP: Go on Tuesday night, is karaoke night.

Son varias veces que he venido y hay buen ambiente. En cuestión de servicio, tienes que buscar a la chica para que te atienda, ya que a veces se llena y se olvidan de ti. Tienen que recordar que la propina no es obligatoria. Mis amigas sacaron mal la cuenta ya que pensaron que le dejaron el 10%(faltaron 20 pesos que después añadieron) y la chica se negó a darnos los ticket de salida que porque tiene que repartir. Le.dejamos el 10% pero la forma en que lo exigió no es buena. Y más que el servicio no fue de lo mejor está vez.

Está padre el lugar peeeeero! Se tardan en atenderte , pues hay poco meseros para cuando está muy lleno Les falta un poco en servicio pero de ahí en fuera , todo perfecto ! Buen ambiente , lugar súper padre ,muy buena música con el grupo de salsa y buena ubicación Sin dudas lo recomiendo !

Buen lugar , ubicado en el primer cuadro de la ciudad a dos cuadras de la catedral. Buen ambiente todos los días , música en vivo con conjunto o con dj, botanas y cócteles muy exclusivos. Lo único que la comida particularmente no fue de mi agrado, pedí unos nachos y la tostada no estaba bien dorada, estaba ya suave, razón por la que se lleva un 4 ⭐. Todo lo demás muy bien , lo recomiendo para pasar un rato agradable

Nice Cantina, was hoping for live music but there was a DJ instead. We was very good, but we were looking forward to the live music. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The crowd varied in age and everyone was having a good time. I would go back again for sure.

Está bien para beber, entre semana tienen varias promociones y hay grupo en vivo; pero la comida no es buena, pedí unos tacos de arrachera y estaban pobremente servidos, la tortilla fría, mala sazón, no me ofrecieron salsa picante ni limón. Dan botana y esa no es mala. Ojo: NO aceptan tarjeta. La atención es buena, lo que se espera, pero la cocina necesita mejorar.

Solicitamos reservación con dos días de anticipación y al llegar nos dijeron que no tenían nada programado . La comida nada especial, poca cantidad. Los baños horribles y eso que no fue entrada la noche. El dj que estaba ese día no mezclaba bien, pero le echó ganas.

Tardaron 40 minutos en traerme una bebida y otra media hora màs para el alimento, casi que mis acompañantes ya habían terminado y la mesera todavía tuvo el descaro de pedir el 15% de propina que porque es lo que el jefe le pide y estuvo de insistente.

We were looking for another bar but found it closed. Loud music attracted us to Cantina Balam and it was full of people, so good atmosphere. Unfortunately the food and drinks didn't match that. As another review (which we saw later) mentions, the drinks are very watery. My girlfriend usually gets drunk from one cocktail, she had a pomo (950ml) of sangria and didn't feel a thing. My cerveca clamato was just beer watered down with tomato juice (and probably water too). The food as average at best as well. In my opinion, this is a tourist trap full of Americans. Fortunately, we found La Negrita and Mezcaleria La Fundacion after this, which are so much better in every aspect.

This bar is VERY ODD. At 1st we entered paid a $50MXN cover and given a ticket to enter. Ok all good. Music pumping cool paintings on the wall lazers blazin todo chido! Then we grabbed 2 tables 1 in the area well tables no chairs (dance area kind of) another on the area with chairs next to the bar. We were offered service to one person in our party while we went to the bathroom (at the dance floor area table) After that when we came back it took a long time to get service so we went to the bar probably 3 times. After the 3rd time staff came over very abruptly and rudely and told us we needed to leave the table like they were mad at us. We had no idea why we needed to leave and he explained to us that we weren't ordering drinks from the waiters. It would have been different if you could have told us the rules and given us a warning kind of thing but instead he just kicked us away from the table. We had also ordered 3 plates of food. We were paying clients being treated like we were ordereing drinks from another establishment. So we were forced to move to another table. Thank God 2 from our party already left because we had 1 tine table for the 6 that were left. The boneless wings and food are the only reason Im ok with having at least 1 star. I was hungry and the food did the job. Then to LEAVE you could NOT leave unless you had the original ticket they gave you to get in. We had 2 people that could not find their tickets amd would not let us leave. Finally one the the staff gave us 2 tickets. It was ODD! Im 43 and have been to many bars and visited Merida at least 10 times and NEVER had to have a ticket or proof to leave. I don't like writing negative reviews as my page and my channel focuses on the positive.But this was a very odd experience, and I want to share it with others. It was more about how we were treated than the actual issue itself. The server at the table that we got forced to move to was wonderful. Her and the food were, it's only saving grace. Across the street was Pipiripau cantina had a line and we weren't wanting to wait in line thats why we went to Balam now I see why Balam didn't have a line. Of course we made the best of our night as I was with a group I'm hosting. We still had a good time but this place needs to learn how to treat customers and help understand all their rules. A warning would have sufficed and we would have followed that rule. We ate then left.
