pedimos ensalada, betabel, carpaccio y pastas.
Delicioso, ingredientes frescos y buen servicio.
As a knowledgeable foodie, you know that Mexican cooks are incredible. This Italian restaurant runs with the best, anywhere. Suggest Prosciutto & Burrata or Fritta Misto for antipasti, Mista or Verde salad, and for a main course Vecchia Scuola (fettuccini) or Rosmarino (rigatoni). Bonus: they make a tremendous Cadillac Margarita. If you imbibe, don’t miss it. You will order two and take an Uber home very satisfied. And quite reasonably priced for the high quality — less than $100 US without a bottle of wine! Speaking of wine, they have a decent selection of wines. We did both lunch and dinner there. Fantastic. Easier to get in at lunch and the food is just as good and the menu looks the same.
Seriously some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had! And I’ve been to Italy quite a few times. A MUST visit if you’re in Merida for a couple of days. We got the carbonara, bolognese and the New York pepperoni it was all 10/10 and we were absolutely stuffed! A little more pricey but you get to watch your pizza being made and the atmosphere is lovely, also great service! Highly recommend
A wonderful, authentic Italian gem that was the perfect break from the local cuisine on a long trip. We ordered meatballs that were light and flavorful, two perfectly dressed salads with tasty fresh vegetables and exceptional Italian cheeses, and a cacio e Pepe featuring perfectly cooked homemade pasta and plenty of fresh black pepper. If you’re looking for an upscale, slightly less heavy meal with a great wine list, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere, you can’t beat Olivia Enoteca!
We’ve had Italian food all over the world and this is among the best we’ve ever had. We are only in Mérida for 4 nights and we ate at Oliva Enoteca twice. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are all excellent. They truly care about ensuring everyone has a top notch dining experience.
Ten of us celebrated a special friend’s birthday. It was a wonderful experience thanks to the service provided by Rafael and the talent of the kitchen staff. Our friend lived in Italy for several years and has a great appreciation for pasta excellently made and prepared. She was not disappointed. Exceeded our expectations, especially for a large group. Most of us have been to Oliva many times over the years. There is a reason they are still around.
Incredible meal with excellent service. The staff were friendly and helpful. I very much look forward to dining here again. One small suggestion would be to offer an English menu, as discussing the meals is part of the enjoyment of the experience and translating it on our phones took a little away from an otherwise wonderful evening. We will be back!
I usually prefer eating Mexican food, but when you’re on a longer trip, you secretly start craving something different now and then. If you’re in Mérida, make sure to go to Oliva Enote. It honestly became the highlight of our time in Mérida. The salmon risotto is *so* good — I really hope it’s still on the menu when you read this! The staff is amazing — very attentive and incredibly helpful. We ended up eating here three days in a row because the atmosphere, the food, and the service were just that good. I never really write reviews, but this restaurant was more than worth it! ---
The pasta dishes were exceptional, and the starter was equally impressive. The staff provided friendly and welcoming service. The wine selection appeared well-curated, though we did not order any on this occasion. The downstairs dining area offers a cozier ambiance compared to the upstairs seating. One area for improvement is the pacing of service—our main course arrived almost immediately after finishing the starter. However, this seems to be a common practice in Mexico, possibly differing from the more leisurely dining experiences we are accustomed to. Overall, I highly recommend the pasta and would certainly return for another visit.
Fantastic Italian food. Better than many places in Italy. With homemade pasta noodles and burrata, I'm so impressed with the quality and taste. The burrata with tomato and balsamic were stunningly delicous, the pappardelle and ragu were perfect. The carbonara was flavorful, but not loose enough. This was my one complaint. Carbonara needs to be more loose on arrival because it firms up as it sits. Rookie mistake in favor of a pretty twisted pasta tower for presentation. The tirimisu was a great finish. This is definitely a place I want to come back to often to try out the other dishes; all of which look great. I would make reservations as it can get busy. We tried to make reservations on a Saturday for Sunday and they said they don't take them. We got there on Sunday and they had availability by the door or at the bar so they either do have reservations on Sundays or didn't want to give us a place elsewhere.
Awesome Experience incredible food! If your a foreigner they also speak English there!

All fresh ingredients, hand made entrees and ice cold beer. I had the linguini with shrimp and it was the best meal I’ve had in years. Strongly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Italian food.

Charming waiter Pablo made this a terrific experience. Appetizers, drinks, tiramisu top notch. My pasta vongole just ok.
Recomendable.
We had dinner here last night. My husband ordered an aperol but was told by the waiter that they are out of it and tried to upsell wine but he ordered a beer instead. I was not feeling 100% so I said nothing for me. The waiter was obviously not happy and very successfully made it obvious. We ordered the pasta w ŕagu sauce, fritz misto , brusceta and everything was excellent. The frito misto was excellent even without aioli sauce but just mayonnaise. So the message here is, the waiters attitude was appealing. He never even offered me a glass of house water nor came to ask if we need anything or how our food was. It took a long time for the pasta to come out. I finished my fritz long before my husband's pasta came out. We specifically mentioned to this waiter that the frito is going to be my main meal. All in all, We will not be back as his attitude really sucked.
Nice gentrified place to meet with friends or date , ( no kidding we were the only mexicans ) although surprisingly loud , hard to talk to my friend and after a few hours i was eager to leave, although the service was impeccable, food well proportionate ( not too much food ) tasty and they have a lot of options . Altough they dont serve pizza, for pizza its the other side of the street, make sure to book accordingly . Cocktails are good yet very watered down and overpriced since last time I was there ( 7 month ago ) 220 for a glass of wine. This restaurant was designed only for tourism . Better pasta than italy itself tough
We have been to many Italian restaurants around the world and in Italy but I would easily say the Italian food here is one of the best we have tried! It’s on the pricier side but for good quality ingredients and a nice ambiance I think it’s worth it. The only downside side was the waiter on the top floor, his attitude was not good towards us or the other Mexican or foreign guests which is very unfortunate.
The pasta dishes were amazing, made with homemade pasta and the ambience of the restaurant is lovely. Desserts were also delicious and beautifully presented. Only downside was the waiter kept trying to upsell us wine when we had already been quite clear about our budget for the wine. Make sure you book at the weekends as they get really busy!
Consider making a reservation if possible; otherwise, be prepared for a lengthy wait. For appetizers, we chose olives and fried calamari. Although the olives weren't pitted, they were tasty. The batter on the fried calamari was light and airy. The drinks were strong :) For the main course, we ordered the seafood pasta and ossobuco. The ossobuco is a must—rich and flavorful. The squid ink pasta, however, was just alright and can be skipped. For dessert, we had the tiramisu. Overall, it was a good experience.
It was a pleasure to discover a good Italian restaurant in Mérida, where the dining scene leans towards Mexican and Yucatecan fusion. Oliva checks many boxes: an excellent wine selection, well-prep…
No volveríamos.
My time at Oliva Enoteca last week could have been excellent, but the earlier part of the dining experience was incredibly frustrating and didn't make me or my mom feel very welcome. The restaurant has a beautiful menu of options, but unfortunately, we couldn't read it because they only offer their menu in Spanish. Look, I don't expect everyone to accommodate tourists. That same day, we went to a fabulous off the beaten (tourist) path restaurant for brunch that didn't offer multi-lingual menus despite having attracted a good number of tourists, and I thought, good on them! It had a strong local vibe and it felt in keeping with what they were doing. It was no problem using Google Translate to figure out my order. Oliva Enoteca, however, is in the heart of the tourist area. During our time, they played exclusively English language music. And most frustratingly, the cell signal inside was non-existent AND they didn't have wifi that they share with guests (something that's been offered to me even at very casual sandwich joints in this city). Our waiter spoke some English but asking him to translate the entire menu felt like an unfair and awkward use of his time. So, in order to order what was by far the most expensive meal of our week in Merida, I had to take the menu outside, hold it under a street light and photograph it section-by-section, putting it through Google translate, then screenshotting the results to bring back to my 77-year old mother to try to decipher. It just felt so unnecessary and it really sucked the energy out of what was supposed to be a celebratory last night in Mexico. While the food was tasty and our server was very kind, it made us feel frustrated and unwelcome.
I recently ordered delivery and wanted to share some feedback. The food was delicious, but I noticed that the portion sizes seem quite small, especially compared to my last order. For example, I didn’t receive the garlic bread this time, and the overall serving size felt much smaller, even though I paid the same price. I believe there’s an opportunity to improve consistency in portion sizes, as I find the current pricing to be a bit high for what I received. I was able to make two meals out of my order last time and this time I got a side container, not all the way full, I don’t know if the photo was able to show that, but it was a lot less than what I got the first time. Thank you for considering my feedback!
Good food overall, but there’s better Italian for better prices elsewhere in town. This used to one of our favourites in the city, but it’s just overpriced now for what you get.
