I've been dining at this restaurant since its' early beginning as a very small one-room restaurant which was located further down Kearney. Food has always been great considering other Tex-Mex fare in the area. Service has always been friendly and attentive. The cleanliness of the dining area and the restrooms are top-notch.

Fantastic service, atmosphere and food!!! We came as a very large group (20 or so) we had a reservation and there was virtually No wait time. They got us in got us our drinks within 5 minutes! Wait staff was attentive and took 20 orders (we have a lot of picky eaters in the family) withouta single mistake. We were made to feel welcome and appreciated! Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming here for almost 5 years and I would say the food is great and awesome like the queso was great and fresh, the soft beef tacos were tasty, fajitas were seasoned and pretty more filling as well I’d recommend coming here to eat and try out if you haven’t been here

I ate at this restaurant long ago and did not find it to be all that I desired. But recently I had to go back due to a club meeting taking place there and found that the food had become much much better. The service was excellent as well and the atmosphere inside of this restaurant is very pleasant and family-centered. I suspect there is a change of management and ownership. Regardless, when it comes to eating the traditional Mexican plates, they do extremely well. I did not have the fajitas. But the tamales, rice, and beans were excellent!

Ordered chicken enchiladas, very delicious! The fajitas came out sizzling and the plates are hot it’s a great place to grab lunch or dinner will be back soon for a lot more!

I drive for Uber so I'm always looking for a local place to eat. I stumbled across Martinez Resturant with its neon red sign glowing in the distance. I decided to try them out and I'm glad that I did. The decor was vintage like it was from the late 80s or 90s. I liked the retro look it took me back to my childhood. I ordered the Carne Asada which came with rice, beans and guac.. The skirt steak was VERY tender and flavorful. I was highly impressed. The food quality is amazing. My only let down was I ordered a Coke as opposed to the horchata which I later discovered on the menu. The prices were very reasonable considering how many resturants have raised prices exorbitantly. I took the time to read the story of the owner and found out they are closed on Sundays like chic fila. That's pretty cool. I highly recommend this place and will be back again when I'm on Mesquite.

We came with a large group we did call in advance and they did make reservation & had our space readily available before we arrived. Our waitress was thorough, helpful, friendly and our orders were taken correctly as well as delivered to each person correctly.. Service was great Atmosphere was friendly and we won’t always come as a large group it was great that they were willing and able to accommodate us!!

I've been coming here for years. Some of the best food around. Reasonably priced. They handled big groups well. We're spend a lot of family birthday dinners, graduations, special occasions here. The chips and salsa are addictive and the homemade flour tortillas are delicious.

Good is always great tasting, staff friendly and prices very reasonable. My daughter and I have been customers many years. It was a tiny place close by the present location back then. The new place is very nice. Clean with lots of room to sit and enjoy your food. Highly recommend Martinez.

It's quite amazing that you can go into a business and experience what is now becoming very rare, and that is the superior customer service. Our waitress was amazing! It was like we had our own personal waitress taking care of only us in the whole restaurant. She is fantastic! Martinez catered my Daughter's wedding, and it was as Amazing as it ALWAYS is at the restaurant!! Authentic and fresh!!! Price was very comparable and affordable, with the exception of $8 per gallon of Tea. Service was great!! They were a little late, but it worked out just fine!! Passed by this place and decided to stop and try. It was a good decision cause the food and service was great. Chips and sauce was just right and the plate I got was spiced mild to medium. Also the handmade tortillas were the cherry on top.

I visited this Mexican restaurant with a friend on Friday. I had heard great things about this restaurant, but had never visited in the almost 2 years I’ve lived in Texas and the Mesquite area. We entered the building and I was surprised how big it was. I was expecting something smaller, but anyways, we were promptly seated. Our server, Elsa, brought us warm chips and salsa and asked what we’d like to drink. My friend and I finally decided what we wanted to eat and placed our order. When the food arrived, it was hot and was exactly what I’d been craving! I ordered the chimichanga with beef fajita meat and it was fresh, tender and seasoned perfectly. My friend ordered enchiladas with extra tortillas and also loved his meal. The server was excellent, attentive and very kind. The restaurant was clean and a pleasant dining environment. And of course, the food was outstanding! We will be back soon!

Martinez is always a great experience, whether you're in a big party or by your lonesome. The food is excellent, the service is immaculate, and there isn't a wait most of the time. Because I am a vegetarian I usually have to customize my orders, and it's quite a difficult order, but I am proud to say that they got my order exactly right. Everything was excellent and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone craving some good Mexican food.

Anytime I have a special occasion I come here. It's been a staple for years in the Foster family. They have wonderful service and amazing food. They are quick with getting the food out, it's delicious, and not too expensive. They accommodate the lunch rush and have wonderful lunch prices too. Good food at good prices. Plenty of chips and salsa.

Good for TexMex food. Great price for the current economy. We got the sour cream chicken enchilada lunch platter. The sour cream sauce was really sour creamy, which I do like that way. We told her we didn't want any more chips and salsa, which the menu stated was an extra charge but she brought it out anyway free of charge. I think we would go back again.

The exterior and interior are a little dated but overall in good repair. They could use a refresh. I'd like to see more smiles and engagement with conversation. A little blurb about today's specials or asking if we're new. Something. This place could be pretty special with a few small changes. Some bright colorful uniforms and bright shiny attitudes. The food was great. Prices seemed a little low. Not complaining. But raise the expectations, ambiance and willingness to pay a dollar or more for really great food, you raise your margins!

It's a place you definitely go to for the food. One of the best Tex-Mex dinners I have had. Very generous portions. My wife is more of a Tex-Mex lover than I, loved the place, we will be going back I likened it to the large Mexican Cantinas you see in some old westerns

Had street tacos: they came with very tender(don’t even need your teeth to eat) beef fajitas cooked with vegetables. Had a good flavor but not mouth watering for my taste; the same with the charros beans. The ambient is mellow with Spanish Christian music playing at a low decibel. It almost feels like a Mexican version of Dennys.

Food seems like institutional quality. Kind of like Six Flags. But this place has a strong following. Probably due to lack of options in sit down restaurants in this area. But worth a shot

The food was as good as it normally is. The staff seemed stressed and maybe short-handed. It seemed like we had inconvenienced them by being there. There is now a limit of 2 tortillas per entree order. I guess that they cost too much to make. I probably won't be returning anytime soon. We used to go there quite often. Maybe new ownership???

I've lived here in Mesquite for 25yrs. The first time I went to Martinez everything went really well. We went as a group from work for lunch and service was on point. This 2nd time around it was just me and my man. Again since they were quick the last time during lunch I thought well let's go to Martinez which he has never been and it made my second time. We got our drinks chips and salsa. The waitress took our order. We waited 45 minutes and still no food. We watched other servers service their customers while we waited. To make a long story short we ended up waiting for 45 minutes and no food. I will not be going back and I'm definitely not recommending. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!..😡😡

I have been coming to this restaurant almost every Wednesday for awhile now. The waitress we had was named Elsa I don't know what issue she has, but she really didn't seem to want to wait on us. My daughter and I waited about 20 minutes to get a tea and water, we watched other people come in after us get their drinks before us and the waitress had to walk past us to take them their drinks. Finally after asking the hostess to switch our table so we could have a different waitress our waitress came up and said she would get the drinks for us. Then the remaining two other people from our group of 4 showed up and ordered their food. It took awhile and to top it off there was some kind of metal staple or clip in the rice on one of the orders. I went to find a manager, but Elsa the waitress walked up and so I told her and she said it was just a staple from the bag of rice and that she would say something to the cook. Not the best experience. I'm not saying I won't go back, but I will definitely request a different waitress when I decide to.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, but our experience with the waiter wasn’t great. When he asked what drinks we wanted, I told him the kids wanted Sprite. He quickly said they don’t have Sprite, only Sierra Mist, so I said that would be fine. Then he told me they don’t offer that for kids, even though drinks are included with the meal, which left me confused. His attitude noticeably changed once he saw my wife come out of the restroom, which felt a bit odd. As for the food, it was just average—similar to any other Tex-Mex spot. Nothing really stood out.

I had good and bad service but today was the worst ever starting with the server didn't offer refills and I specifically ask for no moyo and they did.ask for lemon for my tea and she forgot. It gets wost at the front desk slamming the ticket and walking out leaving us unattended. The old staff is not there anymore I and understand how management behavior.

The food was ok. The waitress Eva wasn’t. She only came to our table one time to ask if everything was okay. She passed by several times refilling water and ice tea for other customers. I had to flag her down for a refill of tea for my daughter and a to go box. This was my first visit here and I probably won’t be back.

Been looking for good Mexican food in the area. THIS IS NOT IT! The salsa is puree no chunks of tomatoes or anything, the queso had zero flavor and the street taco had the same flavor as the street tacos. It did seem to be a very clean which was great, but the food wasn’t worth the visit.

My wife and I would come once every 2 weeks but for the past 2 times we’ve come in, they changed how the fajita nachos are made, before the plate would be full of cheese and plenty of meat, now they literally give you 12-13 chips with some cheese and meat. You are basically charging me $1 a chip. Smh. Go back to the way it used to be.

Unfortunately, the service here was extremely poor. We weren't acknowledged upon arrival, and the staff was dismissive throughout our visit. Instead of communicating about our food, we were simply given a "wait a minute" finger gesture. The lack of basic communication made for a very unpleasant experience.

Went to our grandsons 15th party we made the best of it. Service started off bad ended well. Took them over an hour to get to us to ask for drinks.
