Area 57 is praised for its authentic Colombian food, great service, and pleasant atmosphere, especially Consuelo's outstanding service. Some find it pricey due to the location and some dislike the automatic service charge. Popular dishes include empanadas, buñuelos, and plantains.
Tip: Be aware of your bill when paying, as there might be an automatic service charge added.
A hidden gem for authentic Colombian flavor! 🇨🇴 Restaurante Area 57 is an absolute must if you’re craving real Colombian food in Miami. This place came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. I started with the Plátano Maduro con Queso y Bocadillo, and wow — it was perfectly sweet, melty, and just the right amount of indulgent. The rest of the meal was just as amazing… so much so that I completely forgot to take a picture of the main course. That should tell you everything you need to know! The flavors felt truly authentic, like a homemade meal straight out of Colombia. Friendly service and a casual, cozy atmosphere made it even better. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a taste of Colombia without leaving Miami.
Best papusa I ever had, plantain was amazinggg! Fried pork was crispy on the outside, juicy in the center. They know how to cook!! Food absolutely phenomenal. Definitely would go back here if I were to visit Miami again.
What a great spot for Colombian food! The best part? The service was phenomenal. Our waitress did an amazing job checking in on us just enough. She was so kind! At the end, she had given us one bill and easily split it when I asked her if she could. The worst part? Not much to add honestly. I’d come back!
On our weekend vacation we came here for breakfast and dinner, they are amazing! Food is delicious, atmosphere amazing and the service super nice! On our second day we were recognized and treated like family. Definitely a must come back to.
We can had the pleasure of being served by Consuelo during my recent visit, and she truly made the experience unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a genuine smile and a warmth that made us feel like family. Consuelo was not only attentive and professional, but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu—she took the time to explain each dish with enthusiasm and even shared a few personal recommendations, all of which were spot on. Her timing was impeccable; our drinks and food arrived just when we needed them, and she checked in regularly without ever being intrusive. You can tell she takes pride in her work and in representing the rich culture and flavors of Colombia. Consuelo’s hospitality turned a great meal into a memorable experience. We will definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for her by name!
Phenomenal Atmosphere in Sunny Isles Beach with a great service and pleasant employees the food was great thank you we’ll be back . Great chill spot !
If you’re looking for authentic Colombian food in one of the best neighborhoods near the beach well head over to Sunny isles!!! Lovely restaurant, great food and great ambiance. It’s a little pricey but that’s due to the location. It’s worth every penny 🔥🔥 Tip: Be aware of your bill when paying with credit card. They add a percentage fee for using your card plus tax plus tip. If you pay cash they wave off the credit card fee. Overall it was good! Oh lastly best margaritas in town!!!! Also amazing mural wow absolutely beautiful for pictures and videos. Showcasing some of Colombia’s top artist worldwide!!!
A sweet couple walked up to us on the street and said we needed to try this restaurant and I’m so glad we did! Absolutely delicious. We live in NC and do not have a lot of Columbian restaurants. 10/10! Connsuelo was amazing! 😍
great place, good atmosphere, very good service. the food is great, the portions are very large. I recommend!!!!

My husband and I were on the elevator of our resort with another guest who had a bag with the most delicious aroma coming from it. My husband saw the restaurant name… it was Area 57. We made plans to go there for lunch the next day, and I’m glad we did. Service was great, food was amazing, and it was nice and clean inside. It was our first time trying Columbian food, and we are impressed. The portion sizes are large, so we both had left overs. My husband rarely has left overs. Consuela was sweet, and she helped our server (a new employee) take amazing care of us. I would definitely recommend it, and would return.
My wife is from Mexico and we love to try foods from Latino cultures. We had the mojarra and it was by far the best we have ever eaten anywhere. Fact is everything about this place was top notch from the salad to the desserts. We were so pleased we asked to speak to the manager. Our waitress happened to be the manager on duty. Keep up the good work we will fly back from Ohio just to eat here again.
Went here on our last night on vacation. Was very delicious. The waiters were all amazing. They continuously came to our table asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything. The only question I got is that there is a 15% service charge applied to the bill on top of taxes and the 3.50% fee for using your credit card. I assumed the service charge was gratuity? If that's what is is, they should just change the wording. I didn't leave a tip because I assumed that's what it was for. Great service and food though!
Not a fancy place,,,, very informal and the outdoor seating is literally facing the parking lot but, what lacks in appearance, it makes up in flavor authenticity and great service. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than the average Colombian restaurants, but considering the location , its understandable. Tania, our waitress was a plus,, super nice, full of spark and makes a killer coffee. Can't wait to come back,,,and the mural,,, wow almost forgot about it. Just to check out the mural is woth a visit!
Great Colombian empanadas! The homemade salsa is a delicious kind of spicy. Friendly service. Looking forward to trying more things.
The inside is clean and they are professional. I ordered the bandeja paisa and that plate did not disappoint definitely will be going back to get a little taste of Columbia.
This place is beautiful. They have an amazing mural on the wall. We had the waffles, the eggs, the cheese, bacon, pancakes, and everything was amazing. They also have a bakery with homemade breads and pastries, and bagels that we did not try, but they all looked absolutely beautiful. There were two waitresses. Both of them were very attentive, very friendly, and got us everything we needed. I will definitely recommend recommend this place to friends.
Wonderful little bakery we walked by this morning and decided to stop for breakfast! The service was great, we were served by Consuelo and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
My mom and I are on vacation in Miami and were looking for some authentic South American food. The food here was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful, the food and drinks came out very fast. Our server was Rosa and she was a delight, would highly highly recommend!
Best chicharrons in the area! Seating inside and outside if you prefer al fresco dining. Good Colombian food in an informal setting.
super friendly staff with really nice and caring attitude! helped me and my boyfriend choose the best meals we’ve had in a while (it reminded me of my mom’s latin food cooking). very attentive and the food came in fast which was so good because we came from the beach and we’re hungry. 100% recommend and will come back whenever i get the chance!
First time at this restaurant by the beach and will be coming back for sure, I had an arepa de choclo, bandeja paisa, and tiramisu and wow! Not only was the food amazing, the attention was fantastic by our server Leidy. Found our new Colombian spot!
Wow, the best Colombian food spot I have found in a very long time! My server Leidy was the best of the best, gave me the best recommendations and was very attentive to our table. Definitely will be coming back for the food and the amazing service!
Today I had the best steak It was juicy and tender. And the service was amazing. The owner was so kind and she make sure the customers is always happy . experience was great with a beautiful smile and good attitude from all the staff. I was feeling like I’m in Cali Colombia. I recommend to everyone to go there, price and quality are excellent !! From Abbas and The Spot Barbershop Sunny Isles team.
We visited Area 57 5 years ago, when they were a bakery only. They have expanded to have a full menu, and I mean FULL menu. They are open every day until 11 pm. Consuela greeted, seated and served my husband and I. He had one of their breakfast skillets, with eggs, bacon, plantains, potatoes, sausage and cheese. Outside or inside dining available. Consuela was a dream.
🥣 Sancocho de Costilla This dish is a warm embrace in a bowl. The portion is generous, perfect for sharing or savoring solo if you’re feeling indulgent. The ribs are tender, flavorful, and fall off the bone good, infusing the broth with a rich depth that lingers. It’s comfort food with soul, and Area 57 nails it.
Amazing food... I been now coming here for about 15 days now for lunch and food amazing. Hope owner doesn't start to cut corners and buy cheap food, cause that's why most restaurants fail or barely survive and struggle due to poor quality in food when they buy it from the supplier. I highly recommend this place. You can't go wrong here. Breakfast or lunch the best in Sunny Isles Beach
The food was very delicious authentic Colombian food. Amazing attention and service. I loved the interior decore it brought me back to Colombia!
The food was exactly as pictured on the menu, yet it was shockingly delicious beyond what any picture could capture! What I initially thought to be a rather low-key eatery is now one of my favorites along the beach. Kind-hearted service accompanied the meal, and I was more excited after each bite. The food arrived quickly, and I must say, it was gone with just as much gusto! Sincere compliments to the chef and the rest of the staff. I will be seeing you again soon! Try the Bandeja Paisa for a wonderful variety.
I love eating here. This place is absolutely delicious. I recommend this place time and again. I also come here pretty regularly in the mornings for coffee. Best coffee in the area hands down. It’s literally my perfect way of starting the day. I’ll grab a coffee here and walk over across the street to the peer and soak in the free nature and ocean views. @espartacojr (Content Creator)
Ive been to this place twice and both times everything was great. The food is fantastic and a young lady named Sandy was so pleasant and took care of us perfectly. Cant wait to go back next time we are in town.
I’ve been a loyal customer eating here (breakfast, lunch and mostly dinner) for almost a year. The food options are great and the quality of their products are outstanding (unique I should said in the area of Sunny Isles). I’ve been away on a business trip for a month. The waitresses are always greeting people with a smile and great recommendations based on what you like. Totally recommended and definitely a place to go back. Thanks again for such great customer service. IG: @xclusiveentertainmentprod
It was our first time getaway at Miami. Right in front of our hotel we found this Colombian restaurant. I hesitated first to go there but it totally surprised me with their home style cooking. I ordered a seafood dish with coconut milk. It was unforgettable and palate kicking taste. Service was great!
Everything was delicious 😋. Customer service on point. A bit pricey yet, comes with the area. Amazing taste empanadas, buñuelos and pan de bono. Coffee was great and large.

Everytime I come to Florida i always visit this place. I love there pan de bonos y papitas de limon.
The food was good especially the ox meat. Just disappointed they put the service charge themselves. I usually up pay the tip but I won’t if u just add in 18% yourself.
Came for some desserts and ended up having bunch of stuff! Had fried pork belly and fried plantains for appetizers. Plantain was super delicious, pork was kind of heavy. Chorizo was also nice dish, everything is presented in a pretty way on small plates. Toston area 57 was the best dish we ordered, also appetizer, had nice kick cheese on the top. Tres leches was super sweet and delicious. Service was also good. Whole menu could improve a bit, but fair place to visit!
Service was good but for one person to pay this much is insanity. 37 plus $5 for tips. And almost 5 for a soda. Ridiculous. Never again.

Tried this place out for the first time today and overall was pretty satisfied. Service was great other than my water not being refilled as frequently as it should have been. Waitress was amazing at making you feel like you were truly at home. Also was very confused about the automatic 15% service charge added to tab, should definitely say somewhere that it is getting added and not be a surprise. I believe it was an automatic tip, but if that was the case why was there a spot for another tip on top of this 15%.
Great Colombian food that is good quality. The roscón con arequipe was delicious. Coffee was on point. Calentado was great and the margarita with maracuyá was great. Only reason why not full 5 stars is that the service is a bit slow - could definitely be a bit better.
Service was excellent. Food was good. They add the tip from the outset so read your receipt. I don't mean to imply this was done in a deceptive manner, but if you aren't accustomed to this it could take you aback. This is a new place serving Columbian dishes. I got steak in a Creole sauce and enjoyed it. It could have been hotter but all the flavors were there. May be a little pricey for the meals. Again the service was outstanding. I will go again.
Authentic Colombian cuisines. You can choose from steaks to seafood. You can share appetizers. The atmosphere is modern but home like. The platters are fulfilling. If you take cash they wont charge you a 3.5 % as they would to your ccard. Gratuity is already added to your bill. You dont need to pay for parking. Owner is very pleasant and so are his servers. We will definitely be back. Our food was delicious the platters below says it all. I love flavor and boy did they deliver. Especially with my fried fish.
To start off, the service was great and ordering was very easy. I went early, so it wasn’t too busy, and the lady at the front was very friendly and welcoming. As for the food, it was definitely fresh, which I appreciated, though I wasn’t a huge fan of the flavors personally. I think Colombian food really comes down to preference — I tried the empanadas. The restaurant itself was lovely, with a calm atmosphere and a very clean space, which made the overall experience enjoyable. I would definitely go back if you love Colombian food! Also to add the prices are very affordable!

Food was just okay. Not great, not bad. Seemed like the "Sausage" was Vienna sausage. The ham in the omelette was sliced deli ham.
I was looking for a place within walking distance to the beach, where I could sit down and have a big breakfast before baking in the sun all day. Area 57 seemed to fit the bill. I came in on a Tuesday just after 9. Most people were coming in and ordering the baked goods/empanadas to go. I ordered a decaf cappuccino, which was pretty good. For food, I had the breakfast skillet, which had potatoes, plantains, sausage, bacon, cheese, and eggs. I don't normally like plantains but something about the plantain/potato combo just worked. I didn't care for the sausage, which were more like cheap hot dogs. The skillet also came with a slice of toast. I ordered a beef empanada for later, as a snack at the beach. They make it fresh because when I ordered it to go, they said it would take 10 minutes. Even eating it hours later, it was really good and I was surprised. The beef was perfectly spiced, and not dry. The empanada shell was made of corn, kind of like an arepa, and it was perfectly fried - not too greasy. I will warn you that you have to be careful with the bill. They charge you a convenience fee to use a credit card, and tack on an automatic 15% service fee. I didn't know and I paid a tip on top of that. They're sneaky about it too because on the bottom, they include a "suggested" tip (after having already collected one). The convenience fee and the service fee is based off your order total so let's say you ordered some things to go (like I did), they'll still charge you a "service charge" for those items. I did really enjoy the empanadas so I would say skip the menu food, and stick to the bakery items, get them to-go, and pay in cash. Then you can avoid all the hidden fees.

I went there due to hearing some reviews and photos in social media. The location decor is quite poor. It felt a step above a "mall food court". Waiter did not know how to welcome customers, how to properly recommend dishes nor drinks. I felt I could have gone to the counter (again like in a mall food court) and gotten my food. The waited did not contribute at all in the experience. And when we asked for dessert recommendations, the waiter respond was "go to the display and choose"... wow, such poor service. The Sangria was delicious, but food was ok. Chicharron was kinda dry, steak was chewy (*I ordered the Bandeja Paisa). Empanadas were ok, and Pollo Empanizado was ok. I must say that the 3 Leches was super delish! But I will never go back again because per Social Media, the place should have been like "inmersing myself in a Colombian experience", and it was not. The Christmas decor on the ceiling was already a sign that the owners were too lazy to remove (we went in August) or were too cheap to change.
Food is okay, it took longer than expected, The SERVICE is bad. Be aware of the convenience fee for using a credit card, even if you pay cash they will charge you a convenience fee. We asked our waitress about the convenience fee and she was not pleased when I told her I was going to pay cash!
Graet food, they know how cooking colombian food, Congratulations to the chef, i'm sure that he is Colombiano. I love the Buñuelo, it was fantastic all food. Natalia was our waitress and her service is excelente. She helps with all that we need, we love her acttitude, so friendly.
The food is spectacular but very disappointed with the atmosphere, the heat is intolerable and you can't inhabit the place without feeling uncomfortable. Everything is very spectacular but it takes away the good that detail. However, congratulations to the chefs for the exquisite food and delighted with the bakery section.
The food was very good, don't get me wrong. but they try to put hidden prices on the receipt without telling the customer, service fee? convenience fee? . It is preferable that they raise the price of the food and that they do not deceive one like that. most restaurants don't do that. But where they do that to me I never return.
I am 100% Colombian and I can say that the taste of the food isn't really good as I expected. The service is not organized because there is not an specific waiter. Also they include the tips in your paycheck and ask for more when you pay. I ended giving them 15% and another 20%. The presentation of the food is good is the only thing that I liked.
I am not sure what happened to this place, the carne asada was terrible, hard and impossible to eat, their ahogado was sweet and cold, last time coming here. To be fair or waitress was apologetic and tried to resolved our issue but at this point was already to late and she couldn't take the charge away, this has been the most expensive and awful lunch I had in a long long time. Because of our waitress I am giving this place 2 stars...
I was looking for an inexpensive place by the beach, so I ate here with some friends. I ordered the steak and got a thin silver of meat. It wouldn't call it a steak. It was dried out and well done. I ordered a pina colada and it wasn't garnished at all (no pineapple, umbrella, etc). There is mandatory 18% tip when the service doesn't include anything (no water to the table, etc). Only someone dropping off the food and never coming back to check on you. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Went out for coffee to catch up with a friend. Sat outside, tables were dirty. Made eye contact with waitress 3 times as she looked up from her phone, finally my friend went in to ask for menus. We kept it simple with buñuelos and tres leche with two coffees. Coffee was far from traditional Colombian coffee and tres leche was improperly thawed out. Staff seemed bothered to be at work. What I found horrible was a service charge and convenience fee already on the check. This is not Papi Steak, gratuity should be at the customers discretion based on service.
I visited this Colombian restaurant today and, unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. After arriving, we waited about an hour before we were served our drinks, appetizers, and main courses all at once. Meanwhile, another party, who appeared to be quite affluent and arrived in a purple Bentley, was served promptly and with great attention. This disparity in service made us feel like second-class customers, even though we were paying the same prices from the same menu. It truly made us feel like we were placed in the back of the bus. I hope the restaurant will work on providing equal and attentive service to all their guests in the future.
We used to order food here and visit all the time but the customer service in multiple occasions left a bad taste for us. We ordered lechona and the portion was smaller than usual and as you can see in the photo the skin was very very small and soggy. I contacted them to see if the issue could be resolved but their answer was “next time we’ll make sure it’s delicious” why next time? I expect my food to be delicious and the portions are right when I pay for it, not next time… On another occasion my sister decided to order their flan along with her dinner, she specifically asked before ordering if it was made at the restaurant and they said don’t worry it’s homemade. When her food was delivered the flan was those bland store purchased ones that you get in a little plastic container. And Again, they weren’t helpful in resolving the issue either.

The staff is rude and the boss doesn't let me go to the toilet, he's afraid that the paper will be stolen))))))) cheap tavern

Didn't like the place or the atmosphere the food was over price and small portions
Ordered to go and it took over 30 minutes for 4 tecenos. Lady’s working had a nasty attitude after I asked for the second time.
Bad experience from this restaurant, I have lived in Sunny Isles for 8 years and the racism I have experience is unbelievable. I tried this place twice and they looked over me both times and all I wanted was a coffee. It's very sad that I experience racism from other minority groups in America. I will not make a third attempt.
Rude and incompetent people, can't even get there online orders taken care of, when it's dead.
The food was terrible and the service slow. The steak milanesa was a disaster. Overcooked and no taste, she. We asked to replace the fish which we didn’t eat they refused. Their customer service is a nightmare. Avoid this place at all cost.
Today, my family and I after an amazing beach day went to this restaurant, and we had a horrible experience. The fried snapper was too salty, and it was not what we expected. Moreover, the rice was not cooked properly and some grains were extra crispy and crunchy. On top of that, my husband ordered a bandeja paisa, and the meat was overcooked. We are so disappointed that we feel the need to let you guys know before you go there.
We went in about three tables three people and gave menu and didn’t come back we saw a fly in the bakery window jumping on various pastries we told the young lady and instead of removing the food just let the window open another one just served from their without taking the fly out we left as no one wanted to help us and because of flies inside
Ordered bandeja paisa. They literally forgot the steak. I get to forget something smaller, like plantains...but a whole steak?
Food was not seasoned. We had the whole snapper fish, chicharron, and the pargo frito. The service was slow. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. Our waitress never came back to the table to check on us after serving our food. In addition, there is an automatic 15% service charge/gratuity which was not earned! Hopefully, this review will you improve.
Terrible Service, Unwelcoming Staff. After having to ask to receive menus and ask to place an order. Entire food order took too long, even for the appetizers - Two Soups, Empanadas, and Buñuelos didn’t arrive until main courses did. My steak arrived incorrect with sides I did not order and after asking them to correct the dish, the presentation was sloppy, thrown together and meat was cold! I live across the street and have been coming here for years, despite understanding any restaurant has its ups and downs, this was a very disappointing experience and will not be back.

I live across the street and have been coming here for years, despite understanding any restaurant has its ups and downs, this was a very disappointing experience and will not be back.
