Casavana is a popular Cuban restaurant in Miami known for its delicious and consistent food, especially the ham croquettes and churrasco. Customers praise the fast service, clean atmosphere, and friendly staff, though some find the A/C too cold or the staff unprofessional.
Tip: The portions are large, so consider sharing a plate. Also, be aware that a 20% service charge may be added to your bill.
My friends and I decided to eat here before going to the zoo. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The food came out faster than expected and tasted amazing. It was just a simple breakfast. Price was totally affordable. I will definitely be coming back.
Visiting from out of town and food was good and tasty. Fast service and clean area. Staff friendly but loud, taking between themselves about work and management, not professional at all.
The overall experience was dope. The customer service is amazing. The food comes out fast. Everything was hot and tasty. I’m from New York so authentic Spanish food is literally on every other corner but this food, omg!!!! I love this food and can’t wait to come back
The food was great, services was excellent and the food came quick. It’s a really nice Cuban place. It’s a lot of food 1 plate is good for 2 people.
Super clean, tables separate, friendly service, AWESOME FOOD & the dessert Flan de Coco was out of this world & I make a good flan.😇🙏
The food is so good. The service is amazing my first time here and I let the waitress decide on which sandwich I should choose and she picked a very good Cuban sandwich. It was a pork one and we got beef empanadas. Yum. 😋

It's been a while since we've been here. The food was excellent, and the service was spot on. It's definitely a go-to place when you want quick Cuban food.
We had David as our waiter and he was very nice, fast, attentive and friendly. Great food and hot as always. Loved the Flan.
I've always loved eating here the food is so good, if you have never eaten here and are interested in trying it I suggest you do the coffee is the right kick to wake you up. The sandwiches are delicious I've tried almost all of them and I am never disappointed. You want good steak they have got it and the serves is great. Come alone, with family or friends and you will enjoy yourselves.
Great Restaurant awesome service Great place to go to breakfast
Very friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices.
Everyday an amazing experience!! Within a few days the ladies at the coffee window they will already know what you want. Fantastic costumer service very friendly but very professional very clean very very very nice the spot to meet in the mornings for a late breakfast or for lunch or dinner. Anytime you feel like enjoying a piece of heaven! I love the place I really enjoy it. They have life music too. I believe Sat. In PM. not sure. Call and inquire. Parking available but paid. Do not judge the place by the parking experience if not pleasant. The place is REALLY worth it!!!!
Great food with amazing service. I was seated immediately upon entering. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food came out faster than expected and tasted amazing. It was just a simple breakfast, but it was a great experience. Another thing to note, the price was totally affordable. I will definitely be coming back.
Food was extremely good and the food came out quick. The portion were very good more than expected. Restaurant was very clean and the server very friendly.
Whenever I am in the mood for Chicharrón de pollo. This is the spot. Breakfast this is the spot!
Casavana is my favorite Cuban restaurant. Whenever I go to southwest Dade county from central florida I go there. Nobody does cafe con leche like they do and I love the media noche and maduros. They do a great pollo de bistec. It's so moist and tender. The service is always great, the prices reasonable and they dont care if you dont speak Spanish unlike some restaurants in Miami.
We came for an early dinner and the food was FANTASTIC! I DONT KNOW WHO'S BACK THERE, BUT WOW! I was also very impressed with our server Janet! She was very attentive but not too much where it's annoying.... she refilled our drinks before we finished it without us asking. I was really happy coming here and spending $ + tip
Stopped by for a chicken soup. Never fails to hit the spot always on my list ordered to go quickly attended can't complain at all
Great fresh food. Service was good all the staff is very friendly. Came here on a early Monday afternoon and we were the only people in the whole restaurant. Very empty and cold feeling not a lot of design or decor inside. But everything was clean so that's what counts. Got several appetizers that were all delicious. Great portion sizes. I got the tostones rellenos with shrimp. They were huge and fresh and tasty. I could barely finish them all. My friend got the Pollo Milanese stuffed with ham and cheese and sauce. It was a MASSIVE portion never seen anything like it. Left here feeling full and satisfied. Hadn't had good cuban food in a hot minute.
I had such a lovely experience this morning at Casavana Cuban Restaurant’s ventanita! The service from Jenny was absolutely wonderful she’s super sweet, attentive, and has such a positive attitude that she truly made my morning better. It’s rare to find someone who not only serves you with a smile but also makes you feel welcome and cared for. Thank you, Jenny, for starting my day on such a great note!
Food is always excellent and our server Yaneisy is awesome. Highly recommend this establishment.
This restaurant cubano is actually pretty good. Although it doesn't look that way from the outside. But the service and the food is pretty good. Also good portions served. One thing is that the A/C is always cold. My suggestions would be to put the A/C a little higher in the temperature so that the place is more inviting. Desserts are good as well. Traditional Cuban food and desserts.
Doing some errands and had to wait so I decided to eat here with my mom. We had the medianoche (midnight sandwich) with homemade plantain chips and a platter of croquettes (6). First time here and it did not disappoint. Delicious!!!

Ordered media noche and an empanada de pollo. All was tasty and fresh. Cortadito with evaporated milk was the best! Service was average and ambience is very pleasant.

Within price range, which is reasonable [see menu], a solid 4 stars. Food was fresh, promptly served and the place is very, very clean. He ordered the cubano and i ordered the Medianoche. Tasty but nothing that set it apart from other places. Solid food at a reasonable. The plantain chips were wonderfully cooked and the bag of leftovers shows far less oil than other take home bags from other places 😚
I was craving a steak sandwich and decided to stop here and order it. The steak was well seasoned, the bread was also seasoned and delicious. For dessert i ordered an espresso and caramel flan. So yummy! The staff were friendly, service was quick, and food was fresh. If you’re in the area check them out.
Some friends visiting from Wisconsin wanted to taste Cuban food so I chose this restaurant for them and helped them order from the menu. No complaints except they add on 20 per cent service charge and then request to add more tip. Service was efficient but nothing out of the ordinary. The food was better than expected. I had lived in Baracoa Cuba for a few years and the FUFU with camarones brought back nice memories of that lovely city. Food portions were large and filling. Honestly, the quality of the food was better than my expectations, as I used to be a regular at their Town and Country shop which they closed more than one year ago. Bring gringos to introduce them to Cuban Food to this place and they would be duly impressed. Mariquitas, Frituras de bacalao, tostones rellenos, cuban wrap, salmon atlantico, fufu con camerones, baby churrasco, chicken quesadilla
The food is good and was also good. My issue is they no longer accept orders over the phone. I had to call a couple times to verify or ask about a dish and get referred to the website.
The food was delicious. My first time having Cuban food, so I'm not sure how authentic it is but it was very tasty.

Food did not taste bad, it just needed that “Cuban flavor kick”, it’s not what you would expect being in Miami I was craving some Cuban food. Location: Ok Service: good Time: fast. Price. Good. $28 cash/ $30 if card. I ordered: steak, congri, madurito and an order of Mariquita plus a lemonade.
This place was recommended to us by a great Cuban family running the pet store Yellow Koi and am I glad I listened. Casavanas was really good. The Tostones were delicious, all the food was good honestly. Clean restaurant, fast friendly service and great food. Don't take my word for it, try it. You'll like it.
The Chicken Vaca Frita with the congri and plantains is my go to meal. Delicious everytime. Atmosphere is very generic and waitresses barely speak English, which is fine and what I've come to expect in Miami. Great place all around.
9pm is to early for closing, I couldn't even have a coffee after dinner, even the outside window was close.
The food is pretty good, but depending what you get it can be pricey. Breakfast is cheaper and I love their ham and eggs, for lunch the churrasco is good. For lunch and dinner they give you a lot of food, and breakfast if you get the big breakfast you get toast and coffee. They are open early and open late, and I can say that enough people speak english there, and they are very friendly. Although for some reason I ALWAYS get my food before I get water! Ive started asking my server and that usually helps me get it earlier. Their bathroom is nice too, and they have a service window out front for cafe xon lexhe, toast, pastilitos, etc. Im never cold but i am ALWAYS cold there, so if you get cold easy bring a sweater! They also have handicap parking.
Been a while since I’ve been here. Not a fan of the redesign. Feels like a fast food joint. Service was super slow even being half empty. Seems like they only had 2 waiters with some bus people? (Is that the right term 😅) Food was still good though! Love the vaca frita.

What happened to the crispy fries ? The new ones are terrible - u switched to the lowest quality fry available instead of upgrading They were ice cold when I received them Please find a different toston - the current one is not good at all U need a Hawaiian version Or it was just cooked way before ,way to long it was extremely dry Please train your staff properly- If I sit down to eat inside I expect my croqueta to be fried to order - not grab an old one from the hot box at the cafeteria window that's been sitting all day- I literally got 2 burnt overcooked croquetas that was burned to a crisp on the side it was laying on I am fan of this casavana Been coming here for years- since it was a Sergio's but the small details it what makes people come back Fix the leak inside - not a good look And the bathroom floor is always slippery!! Use a degreaser !!
The food has good taste , fresh and well elaborated, but the portion are too small at least the salmon...another thing workers are distracted ,when i got home didnt have the ropavieja in my purchase and have to go back to get it, so be careful with to go's,vhe girl blame the chef, be careful with change too.

I am a frequent repeat Delivery customer. I ordered a croqueta platter and the vaca frita de pollo and today there were more onions than chicken in my order. It is really shameful to treat customers this way because they are not physically in the restaurant. I am very disappointed!
Bought the Churrasco and the steak itself was good, but there was no flavor. Service was great. The Passion fruit juice tasted a little watered down to my liking. Our waitress was very patient and accommodating when our 2 yr old got out of hand. My wife did notice that an employee was using the bathroom as a personal grooming station. The employee was brushing their teeth at the only sink and my wife had no where to wash her hands.
While the food at this place is undeniably delicious, the repeated errors in fulfilling orders have become a persistent issue. Despite being a regular customer, every order over the past year or so has been marred by missing items or, in today's case, a complete mix-up of orders. I've tried reaching out directly to bring attention to these problems, but unfortunately, there hasn't been any improvement. It's bothersome to encounter such consistent issues, and I hope the establishment takes steps to enhance their order accuracy and overall customer experience.
The restaurant is pleasant though a bit pricey. The food was acceptable Cuban fare and the “fufu” was very good but the “camarones al ajillo” confused me because they were in a bechamel sauce.
The food is great. But the service isn't always the best. Today our server was DANAY F. She placed the order and never came back. My husband was without coffee throughout the whole meal. A male server with a sleeve tattoo was the one who took initiative and served us. He earned the tip unlike her.
nice breakfast. I had to have coffee remade as it was not fresh. I asked for yellow omelette and it was undercooked. drippy. I asked for a substitute for no fries or potatoes and no option was offered. I got no water abd had to get up to ask 2 busboys to help me. I first asked for an omelette with cheese and cooked onions. it was brought with cheese sprinkled on the top and onions not inside like how an omelette is to be cooked. I asked for whole wheat toast lightly toasted and soft and it came brown and crispy. that's when I sent it back and requested scrambled but runny butter and runny eggs. it is sad. you can't get a nice meal without stress and have to explain what you want.
Good, fast service. We can describe the food as "average," nothing exceptional. The atmosphere is appropriate for a lunch on the go or for a daily meal. Reasonable prices.
Had not been here in several years. They had remodeled the place and it is nothing like it was. The food is still very good but the service was not so great and the prices are much higher than they were. I know everyone has had to raise the prices but they are borderline for me as to value. The server never even checked on is after the food came and I was not happy that they don't allow anything below 18 percent tipping.

Was not a fan. The servers were nice and the place looked clean and bright, but the food was not delicious, especially for the prices they charge. I ordered the platter with the eggs, pancakes, toasted Cuban bread, and bacon and I've had much better elsewhere for the same or lesser price. The toast didn't have much butter, but the worse was the eggs, which are not fresh eggs, but those synthetic eggs that have no flavor and have an off texture. I can make better pancakes at home. Definitely not a repeat option for breakfast.
Well, perhaps my expectations were too high. I was expecting a Cuban Sandwich in Miami to be the tastiest I'd ever had. This was not. We got carryout, but I tried it as soon as we got it, so it wasn't just the ride back to our hotel. The sandwich was just not very flavorful. It was freshly made (I had to wait outside the walk-up window while it was prepared). But overall, it left me flat. The people were reasonably friendly, and I obviously can't say anything about the table service.
I rarely leave reviews but this place either is under new management or they just are really bad with breakfast. Soups are amazing. The breakfast was horrible. I ordered pancakes with some sunny side eggs with ham. The pancakes were hard/stale. Looked like jailhouse pancakes. You can tell they were premade and they just put it on the pan to warm up. The ham tasted like rubber and the eggs were okay. Cafe con leche and tostadas was also okay.. service wasn’t the best but I’ve had worst.

Just spent $140 on the worst takeout I’ve ever had. Ordered 3 churrascos that cost $30 each and when I tell it’s inedible! I’ve ordered here many times so I’m very surprised and disappointed. The meat tasted weird. Weirdest meat we have ever had. First of all it was disintegrating as you touched it. Not cause it’s tender but because it’s maybe low quality? Old? And the weirdest part…. THE MEAT HAD NO FLAVOR! not a “needs a little salt situation”, NO THIS WAS WORSE. Cardboard has more taste. I threw my food away an I will never order from here again. I should of known when I arrived and the place looked deserted that something was amiss but I stayed loyal and payed the price. I’m just hoping I don’t get sick from the bites I took.

Casavana is convenient because of its location and my house. The food is good for the price. Today I tried to place an order for takeout at 8pm (1 hour until closing time) however, the online orders had already been shut off. I figure it's to prevent an overload of late night orders, which is totally fine. I figured I would call to place my order. Called a few times and NO answer! And their automated machine said to place any order online. How was I supposed to do that? They need to work on their customer service because I'm not the only person that has complained or had issues with this before.
I have given this location a couple of chances. But enough is enough! Not sure how the dine in food is, however their takeout is horrendous. Last week i ordered “croqueta preparada” only one croqueta inside the whole sandwich, nothing else. I called and complained, all I got was we are sorry. Today, I ordered two full meals, the white rice was not even cooked, it was watery and pasty on both of the orders. Again, I called, their response, we are sorry 🤬. Not even a, we will reimburse you half the order or come back….nothing. BEWARE OF YOUR TAKEOUT OSWES DROM THIS PLACE!
I ordered for 1st time a vaca frita and congris but look like the food was made 3 days ago. no flavor, no visual. Bad choise of meal or bad choise of place 🥴
Management seems to cut corners to save money by not having a hostess or a system in place to determine order of incoming customers. Three parties arrived between 5-15 minutes after us and we still hadn’t received our menus or utensils, those parties on the other hand received their menus and drinks before we did, when it was brought to their attention there was no attempt at correcting, nor did the service change at this point there’s no other recourse. Manager didn’t even come to find out why we were unhappy with the service, waiter/ waitress advised that they chose not to have a hostess, eventually we had to get up and leave realizing that this is more of a management issue from their company then the workers. Just like to mention two other parties that arrived after us, got up and walked out as well and still no change with the hostess situation. Will not be back here again. I’d also like to point out the one star was given because it was the only way I was allowed to write the review.
When you enter the restaurant, there is a sign that says, "Please wait here to be seated." I waited and had to leave because no one seated me. That does not happen at the Miami Lakes restaurant.
The service was horrible. I was there with 2 other people they placed their order and I was the only one that got my meal. When the servers were called she was asked what was going on with the service she stated she didn’t need to check on us because we got what we ordered. When asked to speak with the manager, she didn’t act like a manager and made excuses for her. I will not recommend this place for dinner. Server rude and when you tell them something gives you attitude.
I’m extremely frustrated with the ongoing issues at your restaurant. For nearly two years, I've been hearing the same excuse that your phone isn’t working, and now the online request section doesn’t work either. You expect me to spend money on an expensive meal, but I can’t even make the necessary requests because your system is broken. Every time I order online, I have to wait until I get to the restaurant to make any changes, and your staff never picks up the phone. It's unacceptable that, after all this time, nothing has been fixed. I won’t be ordering from here again, and it’s no wonder your ratings are dropping. Please don’t respond with the same generic apology—it’s not helpful anymore.
The service is terrible waited almost 40 min for scrambled eggs toast and bacon when I complained the manager was rude and dismissive. After all the wait the food was not worth it anyway. Don’t waste your time or money this place is a scam.
Guys this place is nothing like it used to. Since the old owner sold it it's horrible. I ordered boliche, the rise was dry and raw, the beans were pasty and tasted like they were made 5 days ago. The boliche was ok to say the least. My wife ordered a grilled chicken breast with chimichurri , the chimichurri sauce was no where to be found and the chicken as dry and thin as a cardboard. My son ordered chicken tenders and fries with tostones, to be able to messed that ordered up speaks volumes on this stablishment. Waste of money, time, and my family and I feel sick from our stomachs as I write this. Never Again.
This place is going down in quality, I put a pick up order and was very disappointed. They forgot to add an steak sandwich I ordered, I had to go back from home and ask for it, I dont understand because bag was sealed by staples so, someone checked the order. Steak was rare when was ordered medium well, really bad and my chicken breast was very small, you could see that was cut a piece for something else probably. Wont order again, Casavana just loose a customer because on top of that no one pick the phone, none of their locations does.
Ordered online - doesn't give the option to order an orange juice, had to order something else. Tried to call 10 times, no one picks up the phone. Ordered a cheese tequeño and they sent over a guava one. $20 for the wrong tequeno, a juice I didn't want and a "large coffee" which is very small.
Tried to contact you because I need to place a FAMILY MEAL and nobody has picked up the call. I left a VM and I am still waiting for your call back. You sale good food with a high quality; however, you do not have so far a good customer service. Thanks.
The food was average. The lady who sat us was miserable and rude, the girl who assisted my waiter to bring the food, had a nasty face and attitude and the guy that brings the water just throws the water at your table and has a face as if he is doing us a favor. I am appalled at the lack of courtesy and respect. I will never order from there again or go back . I was there today 8/30 at 11am and will never go back
Horrible, service the food has no taste the waiter didn’t even asked if we wanted anything to drink, always ate this food in the past in Miami lakes .but here completely sucks never again
We have been eating from here for years. Love the sandwiches & croquettes. Always good. This Sunday we ordered food & my chicken breast (pollo a la plancha) was raw. And they don’t cook the onions anymore. Only raw onions now on top of food. Hope I don’t die or get salmonella. I tried calling to let them know but no answer. And my fries were brown instead of golden. If I want to cook my food, why order takeout. Sad
We ordered the Churrasco and it was disgusting. It had a foul smell like if if was rotten and tasted even worse. We had it delivered so we were stuck with it and had to throw it out. I then tried to call the restaurant to advise a supervisor and I was not able to contact anyone. They would pick up and hang up on me I tried over 4 times. So rude they have no manners there.
We ordered food to go from here (Coral Reef - my last review reflects Miami Lakes) last night. We had the regular churrasco and the baby churrasco with congri and frijoles negros. The congri and frijoles were delicious but the churraacos were not. I am not sure if were received a bad cut but the it just did not taste great at all. The beef was weirdly mushy and texture was completely off. Sad because we ordered a couple nights ago and I had the bistec sandwich, and it was delicious 😞. So i am not sure if this is how their churrascos are cooked but it just was not what we expected.
Very upset. I asked for an egg white Omelette sandwich. I asked for it to be cooked with Olive oil instead of vegetable oil and the girl said they do not have Olive oil but they do because they bring it to you when you order salad. Instead, they drenched it in vegetable oil. I will not be coming back.
Take out and customer service is at an all time low. We have been going to this Coral Reef Casavana and ordering take out for years as we live close by and this is an occasional go-to on busy days. Today I spent $80 on dinner for my family take out and as we sat and ate, everyone’s rice was hard either under cooked or over cooked. Not edible at all. The black beans watery and just an awful tasting. When I call the restaurant to speak to a manager, no answer. I called several times. After years of being a customer here, I do not recommend take-out. If you are going to eat here, go eat in person in order to make sure that you don’t have any issues with your food and can speak to a waiter or manager. The establishment needs to make a major change on take-out and service (live people should be available picking up a phone line).
They are losing business by not just taking phone orders like every other cuban restaurant that exists.
I ordered some soups and a churrasco with rice and tostones, and these lazy staff members don’t answer the phones when they messed up my order and only gave me two pieces of tostones with the meat… $28 dollars for this? At least have the decency to answer the phones and own up to it unbelievable… but when I go there to pick up the order they sure as hell aren’t busy flirting with the men ?
DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE BUSINESS. Called to place an order at 8:40pm and person that answered the phone said the close at 9pm, you can only order at the window, I rushed there in 5 minutes and the window attendant said “sorry were closed”. Service is terrible. I will only be ordering from SERGIOS nearby. Better food and amazing service. Do not give these people your money.
This has to be the worst Casavana in Miami!! Hasn’t been the same since new management took over & yet we still give them the opportunity to make it right being that we live down the street but they never do. We’re always left very disappointed! From the mushy disgusting churrasco to the chicken noodle soup with no chicken in it & you can’t forget the stale Cuban bread! Add on to the fact that you can’t even call into the restaurant & get someone to answer the the phone, horrible customer service!! If I could leave 0 stars on everything I would.
Horrible slow service. I ordered online only to get there and they have no coffee and barely anything to replace in the order. I was told to come inside to wait and a waitress said that it’s impossible for someone to tell me to wait inside incredibly rudely, and when she found out she was wrong she didn’t even apologize. Not coming back.
