Got the Mountain Club and swapped in pepper jack with banana peppers. Solid move. The turkey was good, bacon had some crisp, and the lemon pesto aioli adds a nice bright flavor without being too heavy. The pepper jack brought a little heat and the banana peppers gave it that tangy kick that keeps it interesting. Pressed well, good balance, and actually filling without feeling like a brick. Just a really good sandwich I’d order again.
My daughter and I stopped here for a bite to eat on our way to the mountains. The sandwiches we ordered were great! We also had awesome service. We will definitely come back here on our future visits!
Nice cozy restaurant with a wide variety of foods and quality services. Had the western bbq chicken with a nice tangy BBQ sauce

I haven't had Smiling Moose in about 10 years, last time was when I worked at a small office in Genesee. I was pregnant with my daughter back then and my coworkers offered to pick up lunch and I said get me whatever you like from there. I just remembered this chopped meat grinder type of sub sandwich and the delicious, greasy memory of it has stayed with me forever. I stopped there on a whim today driving back to Golden from Evergreen. I ordered the Original Mo and I am not kidding when I say it was just like I remembered from 10 years ago. I can't believe I've waited this long to go back! Im so glad I ordered a 12inch so I have leftovers for later tonight. I can't wait to go back with husband and daughter to start exploring the menu.
I love the wheat baguette. Best wheat bread I've had at any sandwich shop. And the ingredients are fresh and delicious. And the cookies are amazing! The burgers are pretty damg tasty too!
The food was sooooo good!!!! For only two people working here it was fast, friendly people, the steakhouse burger was out of this world, green chili, and the cheese curds wow!! Would come back again!!! <3

This was a last minute stop otw back from Keystone, the Italian sub was amazing and so was their white chicken soup. We will be back here in the morning for breakfast! Love love love this place and wish we had one in NC.

Organized order taking, pleasant service, very efficient, relaxed atmosphere, extensive menu with something for everyone! Motherlode Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Tortilla Soup, and the different aioli’s were full of flavor and very filling.
Cozy little sandwich shop. The bread was soft, ingredients tasted fresh, and the service was quick. Price was a little steep but to be expected for a town like Evergreen. Wish they sold alcohol.
The loaded buffalo fries with Bleu cheese are life! The signature sear burger was also delicious. Love that they add banana peppers and use potatoes buns. So yum.

Long wait during peak times but worth it if you’ve got the time. Food is always amazing. Pricing is typical for local mountain town made to order food with fresh ingredients. Go-to when shopping at the Evergreen Walmart or Home Depot.
Really yummy sandwiches! We had the Wild Turkey and the Pesto Italiano and I would definitely get them both again. The spinach was a bit sad so I picked it off, but still very good sandwiches.
Menu is reasonably priced. Breakfast items were all under $10 and served all day. Some outdoor seating was available with some nice views. I enjoyed the music selection and it was at an appropriate volume. The whole experience lent itself to a peaceful road trip stop. I had one of my best sandwiches here. It was made to perfection. The staff were great, charming and awesome. I enjoyed the food so that I even forgot to take a picture of it. But definitely recommend the special MO sandwich The only issue was the ventilation as the smell of heated oil filled the air.

Sandwich was fresh. Chili was pretty spicy. Service was good. They were out of a dressing for one sandwich so I chose another one.
Awesome service. The people working here are fantastic! Burgers are on the menu as 1/2 lb patties but that's clearly a lie. They are 1/4 lb patties. And I don't understand the disingenuous advertising. I would have happily spent more to get a real 1/2 lb burger. Next time I'll stick to the sandwiches.
We were expecting a cozy sit down restaurant but it was an order at the counter and sit in some metal chairs. We enjoyed the hikers harvest, waffles, and soup, however the bacon and the alpine dip both were extremely disappointing.
