Trattoria Terraluna, located in the heart of the Barolo wine region, just outside the center of Monforte d'Alba, stands out for its excellent food and service. In an area that I find overcrowded with crazy and unjustified prices, Trattoria Terraluna remains true to its local roots, standing out as a pleasant oasis where you can enjoy Piedmontese delicacies in a casual yet refined atmosphere. The prices are very competitive, and the attentive service is certainly more akin to that of a restaurant than a trattoria. Finally, two little gems that are truly appreciated: in addition to a taste of Russian salad, there are also single towels in the bathroom, a great idea that makes all the difference and demonstrates the care and attention they give to their customers. Excellent trattoria nestled in the hills of Monforte. Generous portions and very reasonable prices for both quality and quantity (the tajarìn with ragù was only €10). The food was all excellent and beautifully presented. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially one of the waitresses who was particularly approachable and made us feel at home. It's the perfect place for a quiet Sunday lunch with friends. Highly recommended!

We were there in mid-September, midweek. It's a good thing we called and booked a table before leaving Dogliani, because the restaurant was packed (with both tourists and locals!). We had lunch (pranzo): The antipasti were fantastic – all of them, including the delicate zucchini flowers, the Japanese squid, and the meaty ones. The pasta and tajarin were delicious, especially the one with black truffles. The desserts were also to die for. The wine list was extensive, especially the local wines. And finally: the waiters were very friendly.

We ate here in October 2024. A simple, no-frills trattoria located a few kilometers from Barolo, yet elegant nonetheless. The staff were extremely friendly, and the head waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. Naturally, we sampled traditional Piedmontese dishes. Everything was impeccable, from the presentation to the ingredients, and considering how much we ate, I'd say we spent a fair amount: just over €30 per person for three appetizers, three first courses, three desserts, two bottles of water, and a glass of Barolo. Among the appetizers, the pumpkin flan with cheese fondue and the zucchini flowers stuffed with raschera cheese were excellent. Among the first courses, the raviolini del plin with butter and sage and the tagierin with braised meat ragù were outstanding. Among the second courses, the veal cheek braised in Barolo stood out...it melts in your mouth. For dessert, the bunet and hazelnut cake were excellent. We had a great time, highly recommended.

I went for dinner with my boyfriend. We sat at an outside table and had a lovely meal; the food was good and the service excellent. The atmosphere was quiet and very pleasant. I'm a vegetarian, and the restaurant had no problems with it, and I ate very well.

One of the last bastions of "old-school" dining in the area. A very positive experience in a trattoria offering authentic Piedmontese dishes, served in a rustic yet meticulously maintained setting. Quick and friendly service, well-executed dishes: the tartare and tajarin deserve a special mention. Fair bill, convenient parking, and the option of dining al fresco: highly recommended!

We usually dine here once a year, during our ritual tour of my dad's hometown, and every time it's a pleasure—the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Even for the residents of Monforte, this place is a must. We've always had a great time, and the prices are fair. I highly recommend it.

We passed this place by accident when cycling. Had lunch and came back the next day for dinner. It is a typical Piedmontese restaurant and not too touristic. The food, wine, price and service is very good. Grazie!

We came across Monforte d'Alba (a beautiful village, by the way) by chance, and I chose this trattoria, again by chance. The trattoria is located next to the road, but there's little traffic, mostly cyclists. We ate outside, on the terrace, surrounded by plants and flowers. The location is also lovely inside. You can choose either the tasting menu for €35 (which includes a trio of appetizers, a first course from the menu, and a second course from the menu) or à la carte (there were also some dishes off the menu, written on the blackboard). We opted for à la carte. For the first course: tajarin with meat sauce and maltagliati with Bra sausage. For the second course: roast lamb and veal cheek in Barolo wine. For dessert: sautéed apricots with a scoop of ice cream and the other sponge cake with cream and strawberries. All accompanied by a bottle of 2021 Seghesio Barbera d'Alba. Coffee on the house. Fast service, and both the owner and waitress were very kind and helpful. A fantastic, elegant trattoria where you can savor the flavors of the Langhe in a beautiful setting. We'll be back.
