I am writing to chime in and defend both Joni and her wonderful staff at Montauk's best breakfast and lunch spot!!! Regarding the previous negative review from Jacqueline...... we were there that day and both of their overt impatience and rude behavior spread REALLY NEGATIVE ENERGY throughout the crowd patiently waiting for their delicious food. Perhaps she might consider frequenting McDonald's or an actual fast food establishment if she expects immediate service. These darling people are working long hours, wearing masks, and finding creative safe solutions to deliver healthy food as quickly as possible. Jacqueline, perhaps Montauk is not the place for you and your aggressive mother. You don't realize how your negative energy impacted others. Stay home or learn to be kind.

Nice place for breakfast. We had the avocado bread, waffles, a wrap and the granola with yogurt hand fruits. All delicious. Only the coffee options are not perfect - at least if you are looking for italian coffee.

The greatest spot in Montauk and she stands on business. If I see any negative reviews on Joni’s, you must be at the wrong spot cause nothing that comes from Joni’s is bad.

The best place to grab a lunch in the town. Food is great and stuff is always so helpful and welcoming. I recommend trying the tacos and excellent cookies.

This is one of the best casual breakfast places in Montauk. I spent ~6 days in Montauk and went here for breakfast almost everyday. The eggs with avocado, mushrooms, and swiss cheese was my go-to; great coffee as well.

Someone recommended it to me on the train into Montauk and they were spot on! The “Avocado for Breakfast?” was by far the best avocado toast ensemble I’ve ever had! I got the sunny egg added and the flavors were incredible! And the store itself is unique, with great menu options. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Always clean. Always delicious. Lana the sweet manager will take care of you. Joni will be there making sure your food is perfect. There’s nothing better than this place! Dad gets the “sorry Charlie” cuz he’s from up island and not adventurous. Mom gets the Caesar salad wrap for the same reason. But you? I know you’re gonna get something unique like “curry up” with an orange twist juice. I believe in you. You want the whole experience. You won’t regret it.

Best breakfast wrap I ever had in my entire life.

We spent three days in Montauk and had breakfast at Jonis every morning. Every day we were met by Lana, the charmingly pleasant and cheerful manager. She was effortlessly handling a crowded line of diners and efficiently taking and delivering their orders. In moments of calm, she was seen outside picking up other people’s trash and tidying up the restaurant. I always appreciate a good work ethic! The food was unique and well prepared. Cappuccino was excellent! Perfect froth and NO cinnamon! We had avocado toast and a generously sized oatmeal and the spicy ginger shot. We are definitely coming back.

Best wrap of my life. My family and I come here every summer and Joni’s is our weekly lunch treat. My picky daughter gets the hot dog and loves it because it’s on a brioche bun and comes with baby carrots. I get the love peace chicken wrap and then dream about it all week til I can have it again. My husband loves the fish sandwich and my other kids are always trying something different on the menu. You can’t go wrong. Smoothies, sandos, juices… It’s so fresh and delicious and very reasonably priced. My parents live here year round and drive from AMG to MTK every week as well to get their Joni’s fix. Order online for pickup then walk around the shops while you wait. Lana and Joni are always there with a smile. We’ve had lunch all over the east end… nothing compares to Joni’s.

This place is a gem with a very cool owner at the helm. Joni has a great thing going here. Amazing food, smoothies, and treats. Cool peeps helping pump out all the deliciousness. I recommend it highly. Oh, and hip music on the sound system. 🎵🎵🎵☀️😁

It's worth the wait and you'll know you're at the right place when you see the crowds waiting to order and the outdoor tables full of people. The food is made to order, really high quality, fresh and absolutely delicious. They have very good vegan and gluten free options. The freshly squeezed juices are incredible. Everyone who works there is kind and they are doing a great job.

Reliable and delicious. The perfect surfside place for good clean food. I like to order a get baked smoothie and a gone fishin burrito. If it’s early and summertime, I get a wake up smoothie (has espresso) and it hits the spot. If it’s fall, you know I’m getting the homemade hot chai. Every Hamptons local knows that Joni’s is where it’s at. I’m a city transplant and learned quick. You order online for pickup, hope for a picnic table out front, or take your to-go bag to the beach (or the curb!). If you live here, you already know. If you’re visiting, come on a Thursday- hit the farmers market, get you some Joni’s for lunch, and shop local. You won’t be disappointed.

What a wonderful eatery in Montauk. No indoor seating. Go up, order, then pick up. Small amount of outdoor seating. First come gets dibs on the seats. Quit an impressive area of food choices. Do not think one can go wrong. Constant line of people ordering. Gluten free options available, just tell the person when ordering. Got curried chicken with gluten free wrap and the Love, Peace and Happiness Chicken. Two thumbs up. The owner, Joni, is very pleasant and has a well run group of 10 to 12 churning out meal after meal. Very impressive! If you are in the area, give this place a try. The only thing you will regret is not trying this place sooner.

My family and I have been coming to Montauk for about 15 years but this was my first time here at Joni’s ! I love how many vegan options there are , not just one or two like every single thing is ! My favorite is the Rio Açaí bowl.. so yummy and delicious!

I recently visited Joni's Kitchen in Montauk and I have to say, I was blown away by their amazing service and delicious ice coffee. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. But what really stood out to me was their ice coffee - it was the perfect balance of strong coffee flavor and sweetness, and it was so refreshing on a hot day. I’ve been coming to Montauk since 2009 and stepped into this lovely spot for the first time. My omelette was delicious and I appreciated the warm and friendly service. I’m only sorry I missed all these years of enjoying the past 14 years!! My favorite place on Long Island. The food is amazing, the staff is always very friendly and the vibe at Jonis is just wonderful. Yes, the line is long during the summer, but they are always doing their best to speed it up and that's just what happens when a place is incredibly good and everyone wants a taste of it :)

Been going to Montauk every summer for 20+ years. This place has been a GEM. Great fresh, HEALTHY food made to order. My personal favorite is East of the Boarder. Love Peace and Chicken is also amazing. The smoothies too. And zomg the guacamole is great! You may have to wait a little at times as this place gets busy, and like I said everything is made to order. Joni herself is often there and always a lovely person.

If you have celiac disease or need gluten free you definitely should visit Joni's Kitchen. It is great for a quick bite or a healthy drink. It is more of a grab and go place, easy and healthy. They have a few picnic tables you can sit at in the front and back of their place.

The Wake Up Smoothie was excellent—exactly what I was looking for—and the omelet was made with noticeably fresh eggs. This was my first time here after visiting Montauk for nearly 25 years, and I will definitely be back to try the many creative menu items. They also have great treats to grab and go for the beach! You may want to order ahead as it gets crowded and is on the smaller side. Highly recommend!

Best breakfast food I’ve ever had! We had their waffles, breakfast wrap and avocado for breakfast. They were all so so good. Highly recommend the avocado for breakfast if you’re an avocado toast person!! You’re missing out if you don’t come here when you’re in Montauk!

Love this place. They package everything nicely to go you can take it to the beach or stay and sit on their lovely picnic tables. The staff is wonderful. Fresh organic and healthy vibes! I eat here almost too much it’s just so good. Todays lunch is the Zen Rabbit which is a Mediterranean wrap.

A gluten free heaven! It was so good, I came back twice! In those days I got the smokin jack wrap (on a gluten free wrap), the fresh made GF banana bread, a chocolate donut, an egg wrap AND they threw in a free GF chia berry muffin! The wraps were pretty good, they did fall apart easily but isn’t the restaurant’s fault, gluten free is just like that sometimes. BUT THE BAKED ITEMS!!!! Wow. The banana bread was so moist and it also came right out of the oven. The chocolate donut was good, just too sweet for my liking. And the chia berry muffin was soooo good and also so fresh, I wish I had grabbed a few to eat during the week! The service was great. Both women who worked the front were kind, welcoming and helpful. If I am back in the area, I will definitely be returning.

Watched a bunch of videos on planes that I couldn't miss on my day trip to Montauk and Joni's was raved about everywhere. Once I got off the main roundabout and saw the crowd outside, I knew I was in the right place. I waited in line for about five minutes before ordering the Rio Acai Bowl and Thai Me Up. I only had to wait about ten minutes for my food, which was pretty good and fresh. My only wish was that the outdoor area had an additional sunshade because now I know why my picnic table was available. 🥵

love everything about this place! the service was always extremely kind. initially was going to try this place out at the start of our vacation in montauk, but loved it so much that this was our breakfast/lunch spot everyday. no need to find someplace new when this spot was so great. the food is all so good. tried out the build your own breakfast burrito, cali burrito, and the sorry charlie. everything was so great. the banana bread (both the normal and the gluten free) were to die for. i would do anything to recreate that recipe. the vibe of joni’s is also so great. service is quick & kind. plenty of outdoor seating to eat at. a must see when in montauk!

The menu is extensive. The ole ole ($17) while expensive was stuffed with a ton of different ingredients that made it very tasty and flavorful. There were mini cups of hot sauces. The food was ready *lightening* fast. Outdoor seating available on the weekend surprisingly. Such a cute and lovely experience.

Such a cute spot! I ordered an iced latte which was very good and the smokin jack sandwich which I HIGHLY recommend. Perfect way to start a beach day. A short walk to the beach and other shops too, perfect location. Has outdoor seating. Just be mindful that it gets very busy here in the mornings so it can be overwhelming when trying to order but it’s worth the wait!

I've been going to Joni's for years. The best food in Montauk. In addition, the staff makes you feel like you’re part of the family from the moment you walk in. There’s a real warmth here that’s rare to find these days. Highly recommend the Gone Fishin' or Smokin Jack.

Joni's is a decent breakfast/lunch spot, but honestly very overpriced for what you pay for. The portions are small!

Good quality food but priced for the area ($$$). Server was helpful and allowed substitutions and changes to my ordered menu item. The wrap is of medium size. The Rio Acai bowl was large and filling.

One of our must visits when in town. Food is fresh and delicious. They have a wide variety of gluten free food as well as so many options when deciding what to order. It is priced for the season when we're there. A breakfast wrap & chai latte can cost upwards $15-$20. They have picnic tables inside & out to stay and enjoy, but they fill up quick. A long line can often be found during mealtimes as everything is made fresh and from scratch.

Awesome food, great original menu, lovely atmosphere. Lovely outdoor eating section, as well as indoor. Good quality food, really would recommend it here! Giving only 4 stars because it's all handed out on disposable plates, cups and cutlery. Completely unnecessary (even if they say compostable, we know that this does not happen. The general trash can outside was full of the stuff).

This is open but only serving carry out or seating at its tables outside. Lovely service although we had to wait a bit for our chicken tenders (made fresh from scratch). The tenders were delicious, as was the chicken soup (more like a broth). Definitely one of the better food options available here.

I've been here twice to have breakfast, and it was good, however I expected a little more after the reviews and the price . It was standard American 'healthy breakfast' fare and overall was good but not great. The shrimp tacos in particular were soggy which was disappointing. We visited because it was one of the few places which was open

I've been coming to Montauk for 15 years and this has ALWAYS been my favorite place to eat. It is a known fact that during lunch hours you may wait up to 30 minutes but this summer this food has been horrible. They used to make every dish fresh and now they store everything pre-made in the fridge. The bread is always stale and the food has a cold fridge taste. Their fresh ingredients and signature style have completely been thrown out the window. Sad to say, I will not be returning here. After 15 years this is a very sad loss for us in the community.

it's a genuinely good place to eat but the price is quite frankly outrageous. The food is good but some of the meals on the menu taste quite bland. it puts on a show of being healthy and ecofriendly but still heavily relies on plastics and straws. once again, still a great location and good food but its overrated when looking at the price and food and how long it takes to get food. staff is extremely nice and all it's just not a sustainable lunch place unless you are overflowing with money.

I ate here my first morning in Montauk. It's very pricey and staff wasn't very friendly. $40 for 2 wraps and 2 coffees, however the food was really good so we went back the following morning. Unfortunately this time it wasn't very good at all. Our wraps barely had any vegetables in them it was just eggs wrapped in a tortilla. I don't mind paying for good foo but it has to be consistently good.

Really good food. Waffles are great - but we ended up waiting for about 45 minutes to get everything at 9am on a Sunday. And even then some of it was wrong!

Excellent food, organic, good recipes, however, the staff is soooooo snail 🐌 slow and pretty rude. To make an espresso girl caresses counter with slow hand while line grows 12 deep. She makes one at a time as I wait 15 minutes for a chai latte, when I ask when it will be done she snarls 'I'm making it' Grrrrl, if you worked for me you'd be fired I was a barista at the bottom of a ski hill. Your boss can't make money off these Rick people in one season if you don't hustle. Your snotty attitude should cost you a job. Also, do t make someone wait in the twelve deep line for a refill take my money and let me go 🏄.You just lost an easy two dollars 💵 For being a 'smart'.

My rating is for the pastries and coffee. The staff didn't know how to make macchiato. And the donut I got was very stale. I think Left Hand was much better.

Had two wraps - wild on chicken and Thai me up---both were below average and lacking in flavor. The chicken salad did not have the tarragon they listed and should have had celery and toasted almonds.

Terrible service. The lovely owner yelled at my mother for asking where our food was, after we had been waiting for a half hour and people who came after us were served before us. She proceeded to yell at us about how stressed she was and to get off the deck while she allowed other people to be there. Instead of yelling, maybe respond with “Sorry, your food will be coming shortly.” The people here were beyond rude. Do not come unless you want to be treated like a piece of sh*t.

They take a tip from you without letting you know. They scam people. I went in and ordered and picked up my food. Why would I pay a tip for picking up my own food???

Supposedly place to go to for lunch in Montauk, will never in my life go back there again. Waited an hour and a half for two...TWO sandwiches. Service was absolutely horrible. Prices were obnoxious for the sandwiches I received. Enough to chicken to maybe full up a new born for a price of s luxury dinner. Terrible experience.

The service is appalling. I tried to order two items a bagel and a cookie. I told the tall dark haired clerk my order THREE TIMES and he still screwed it up. I go to pick up my order when it's called and you can't even ask a question. I will never go back again.

I would give them 5 stars because they have some good organic food items, but what’s inconsistent is that they unsustainably use single-use cutlery and packaging even for dine-in customers. And there is no designated cans to recycle the plastic packaging. Some of the packaging says “compostable” but if you read the fine print, that is only compostable in an industrial facility. While organic items are important for the planet, zero waste is too. Please bring back non single-use, ceramic or metal plates and silverware cutlery!

My bagel breakfast sandwich was disappointing, with random bits of tomato, guacamole, and an unidentified white substance mixed in—even though I ordered just egg, bacon, and sausage. The sausage was thin, hard as rubber, and completely inedible. My smoothie was so watered down I couldn’t taste any of the flavors it was supposed to have. This place does not take allergy restrictions seriously, and I’d recommend spending your money elsewhere. Poor service, and as for the atmosphere? There’s nowhere to sit.
