Wow !!!! The food is absolutely delicious however price and service will have me coming back day in and out. Highly recommended and there nothing like that in this area and even if there was i doubt it could compare. The ingredients were so fresh and it shows on the flavors. I had the birria tostones.and that combination was so good. Tostones cooked to perfection and the meat so soft and juice my mouth is watering just thinking about it again. Also free nachos with any order😍😍😍😍
Incredibly delicious tacos! Truly 10/10 flavor. We got the fish and chicken tacos and enjoyed the side sauces (green and orange). The owner was also incredibly hospitable and kind. Highly recommend this spot for amazing flavor that’s not over engineered. Chef’s kiss!
Really good food! The birria tacos were super flavorful and juicy, the quipes were crispy and fresh, and the chimi de carnitas was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. Will definitely be ordering from here again.
Walked in to amazing customer service. The owner is very attentive and friendly. But most of all the food was delicious we had tacos, empanadas and OMG the chimi birria will leave you wanting more. We will definitely come back for more :) I should’ve ordered one to go.
Let me start by saying that I was very, very skeptical about coming here due to the fact that it is of Dominican and Mexican fusion food, but let me tell you was I wrong. Not only was the food absolutely delicious but the accommodations felt like a family environment. I sat down and had the Carne Asada tacos with the green sauce, absolute magic. It was so good that I got a burrito to go. I got a surf and turf bar and shrimp burrito which is the Owner Anderson was kind enough to create for me. If you want a place where the food quality is high , fresh and you get treated like family then this is the place for you. I’m happy I found this place which is walking distance from my pad. I’ll be back at anyone who hasn’t been here. Should give it a shot.
An unforgettable fusion spot in South Beach! La Ecensia Momimex is hands down one of the most unique and flavorful restaurants I’ve tried in Miami. From the moment you walk in, the vibrant atmosphere hits you — colorful papel picado, Dominican and Mexican flags proudly hanging, and beautiful artwork on the walls that makes the place feel festive and welcoming. The food is where it really shines. I ordered a sandwich that beautifully combined Mexican and Dominican flavors, and it was absolutely delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted, the meat juicy and tender, and the toppings added just the right amount of crunch and freshness. The fries with their special sauce were addictive — I couldn’t stop eating them. On top of that, the presentation is fun and creative. My sandwich even came with little Dominican and Mexican flags on top, which shows how much pride they put into celebrating both cultures. Service was friendly and quick, and the whole vibe made me feel like I was at a festive family gathering. If you’re in South Beach and want something beyond the usual tourist spots, La Ecensia Momimex is a gem that’s absolutely worth visiting. Highly recommended for anyone who loves bold flavors and a true cultural mix!
First time in Miami Beach && Food was delicious! Tostones were amazing! 10/10 customer service was excellent. Jesus was very courteous and welcoming. Definitely coming back every time I’m in town. Thank you Jesus!
From the moment you enter your met with great energy not only from the owner himself but the employees as well. Over all 10/10 experience from the moment I entered ,to when the food came out to even being greeted on the way out. My favorite thing of all was the birria tostones along with the birria tacos everything tasted homemade and fresh. Can’t wait to be back.
What a wonderful place to stop at when looking for excellent quality, tasty food!! It was my first time in Miami Beach and I went to one of their newer locations and holy cowwww, the food was really impressive!! Everything from the artwork on the walls, to the taste, the presentation, the portions, the service created such a welcoming environment that I really loved and appreciated! I am recommending everyoneeee to go here when visiting Miami! I shared a couple of pics of the food and a pic with some of the artwork on the wall for a better idea 😀 Gracias por el servicio y los consejos que compartiste con nosotros! Until next time, Muriel
Man, I gotta talk about this spot, La Esencia. Seriously, the moment I heard it was Dominican and Mexican food mashed up, I was already sold. Like, my two favorite food groups under one roof? That’s just wild. It felt like they designed this place just for me. I went for the first time on Friday, and the whole experience was just it. The vibes were on point—super comfortable, great energy. And the service? Incredible. The staff was humble but quick; they made you feel totally taken care of. No complaints at all on the atmosphere or the people working there. But the food? Oof. It was perfect. You know how sometimes fusion can feel messy? Not here. Every single bite tasted intentional, like they really respect both cuisines and knew exactly what they were doing. And listen, the pricing was greatly priced. It's not one of those places where you leave feeling broke; you get real value for the quality you're paying for. Honestly, I’m already counting down the days till I can get back. If you live around here and you haven't been to La Esencia, you're missing out. Go try it—it’s straight up amazing!
We had six different dishes and they were all amazing. I would definitely recommend the Birria. In all forms. A MUST stop if you are in the area.
Minutes away from North Beach. Amazing Dominican and Mexican fusion is here! Today I had the Birria tacos and the Yaroa with beef. It was delicious! I wish I could have seconds I was stuffed. Definitely try them out and you will not be disappointed.
I googled delicious authentic tacos and it brought me to this place! I’m so glad it did! Food was delicious and the gentleman, that was the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!!
This place is amazinggggg. The food is so delicious and the owners are so kind and helpful. The birria is some of the best I’ve had in Miami. Must check out spot in MiamiBeach and I definitely will be coming back soon!
Such a hidden gem! The food here is absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. The blend of Dominican and Mexican cuisine is so unique — every bite is fresh, savory, and perfectly seasoned. The Loaded Nachos with shrimp are a must-try, packed with flavor and topped just right. The atmosphere is colorful and vibrant, making the experience even more enjoyable. On top of that, the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes you feel right at home. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for amazing food and great vibes! 🌮🇲🇽🇩🇴
The food and fusion was on point! Very flavorful combining two amazing cultures with rich food together. I had the birria tostones and it was amazing! 10/10
Top quality. You taste the difference when everything is made fresh from scratch. If you like brisket and birria tacos, you’re in for a real treat. The birria ramen burrito was epic (unique and so good!) and the birria tostadas on fresh plantains stole the show. This delicious Mexican-Dominican fusion spot just opened in the heart of Miami Beach, and we can’t wait to go back to try more of their menu like the chimi burger. Fun decor, casual and quick. The owners are super nice, too.
Came here today Oct 31. Visiting Miami form Canada and we had a craving for tacos. La Esencia did not fail! We ended up getting Shrimp birria and Birria Ramen. They were delicious! We were also given complimentary nacho chips with spicy guac sauce, which was so tasty and fresh. Will be coming back here 100%
Tacos are always a good idea, especially with a new local North Beach spot. I stopped in to try and was greeted by Armando who made the ordering seamless. He went out of his way to extend the promotion. I ordered the classic steak tacos and carnitas, both on corn tortillas. The steak were perfectly seasoned while the carnitas has a nice sweet flavor that was complimented well with the verde sauce. Go find La Esencia — it is a tucked away but won’t stay hidden for long before the neighbors figure it out.
We had the best time, thank you Jesus for your amazing service and attention. I highly recommend the birria tostones and the chimi.

The place looks amazing and has a really nice vibe. The staff was super friendly and explained every dish, which made the experience even better. The art and decoration are beautiful. I got the Carnitas Yaroa, Al Pastor Chimi, and Birria Nachos—everything was really good. I had a Country Club to drink and ended with the churros with strawberry and crema. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back.
