This place was beyond great! After hiking up it you will work an appetite. Their food was cooked fresh not greasy at all. They had the A/C on, staff was friendly & helpful. Thanks Top of the Notch for your service!

Good amount of food options and beer for being at the ski area. You need to either hike up, 3 miles on a fire road or pay to take the ski left from the parking lot. Probably not worth a trip on its own but a nice stop if you are already up there.

A spot with a million dollar view. Can get here by hiking or taking the chairlift. Pretty good food for a ski/hiking lodge, but the views are worth more than the food. This makes for a good days outing just to come up here or to stop by while hiking.

Enjoy heading up the mountain. Went on a few night hikes where they had dinner and a live band playing. Either hike or take the chair lift would recommend visiting and get up in the hills

Awesome Experience. Enjoyed a day of Snowboarding along with a Notch Burger. Great Legit Burger with Cheddar cheese, Lettuce Tomato Onion with an awesome Deli with a generous portion of very tasty Steak Fries.

Start to finish, our group’s experience was super positive, efficient, and so fun! The staff were lovely and assisted us with a smile. Lift ride was peaceful, time spent at the summit was gorgeous and staff at the summit were awesome just like at the base of the lift. Very welcoming and kind. Yoga event during our visit but we did not participate- maybe next year?! Thank you MtBaldy for making our visit so smooth and being so helpful.

A little pricy but the people were super nice, and the food was tasty and abundant. The view was killer. Great setup with outdoor eating and COVID-frirndly safety precautions.

Attended the last Moonlight Hike of the season last night and it was a blast! Biggest crowd I’ve ever seen, but the bar and food service was superb. Lines moved quickly because they were well-staffed and efficient.

We've lived below Mount Baldy for 35 years. We've played in the snow at the base so many times I can't count. This was our first time riding the lift up to the "Top of the Notch". The tritip sandwiches were boxed but they were were good with three cuts of tritip. The sloping grounds were flat. You can look off the other side toward Victorville. Getting on and off the lift is easy. Especially since our operator has been there since the beginning. Back when the first chair lift was a Conestoga Wagon and a mule they finally retired to stud last year. I'm still fact-checking that.

If you are not skiing/boarding here, you are missing out! No crowds, great snow, great food, and great folks! Yup. It's pretty great!

Love this place! My favorite place to snowboard in SoCal, so close to LA (like one hour), affordable and fun.

Love the throwback 70’s vibe of the Mt.Baldy operation, reminds me of the way Mammoth was before they sold out to big corporations. I like to support and participate in Mt. Baldy events, moonlight hikes, karaoke nights, etc. Definitely a business worth supporting!

We went to mt baldy for snow tubing and ate at top of the notch restaurant. Its a nice busy place with decent food. Had burger and fries and it was welcoming after a chilly session of snow play and tubing. Quite spacious but fills up with all the skiing and tubing crowd on weeekends. The view was awesome.You have to take the scenic lift to get to this restaurant after parking the car. Alternately, we also saw few people hiking up..so thats another option. Would surely like to visit again on an equally beautiful day!

Best burger on the mountain. Great taste and a a nice size. Good meal after a long hike. They offer breakfast and lunch. Menu is decently sized. The staff is very relaxed and easy to talk to. Very chill spot. Seating is great either school style tables, outdoor picnic tables or window seating. Great ambiance.

It is a nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee with friends, hiking with friends. It is amazing riding the chair lift to the mountain top.

Bar-type food. All pretty good, but we came for the views and were not disappointed. So close to the beaches of Santa Monica, but snow-capped peaks within an hour or so. Well worth the trip. Dined inside, too windy and cold outside. Be sure to wear gloves, hat, and cover your ears. Very cold on the mountain in February!

Love this place. It makes the hike so nice to be able to get a hot chocolate with some music, relax and the most breathtaking view! Love how they have food, restrooms, the merch is super cute too. I wanted to buy a beanie and a coffee to go mug with the baldy logo. Really kind and friendly staff as well.

Mt Baldy is my favorite place to ski & snowboard. It’s beyond peaceful, and I love going later in the season as I feel ,towards the end of the day like I have the mountains to myself. Such an amazing place ! Thank you!

Great food, it does get pretty packed, but you do not have to wait long after you order. Also have IPA beers on tap! You also get wonderful views looking down into the mountains.

It was both my kids first time skiing, and the class was great. Everyone working here is lovely and even though it was busy we got the equipment without much wait. I didn’t ski but enjoyed the ride up in lift and the beautiful scenery at the lodge. We will be back soon.

This was my first time at top of the notch on Mount Baldy. The staff went out of their way to make the accommodations and service exemplary. The tent cabins are basic, but more than adequate for a fun camping getaway. The food was actually very good, although bar-type selections of burgers and sandwiches you'd expect at the top of a mountain. The team built a sense of camaraderie amongst the guests that made us feel very at home. Lots of little details, like campfire s'mores made it really special. It was a fantastic trip and highly recommended!

Great day hiking up to the summit of Baldy from the notch, and a nice lunch at the Top of the Notch after the hike. You have to understand that prices are in the higher side, but that’s part of getting decent food on the top of a mountain. Good beer, good food.

Wonderful experience. Can't wait to isit again. Wonderful staff. Very friendly atmosphere overall. Bathrooms at the bottom and top of ski lift could use a lot of TLC.

Been here multiple times, both midway through Baldy hikes, and the end of the climb on a road bike. Clean water and restrooms are accessible via back entrance throughout the day. Also makes for great views from the dining deck.

Favorite place to go for the day since moving to California 10 years ago (in general not just for skiing). Quirky and local management is what makes it great but also can frustrate ppl because it isn’t as smoothly run as a better funded mountain. But it’s worth it and it’s so close to LA/OC.

Surprisingly good food considering you are a captive audience at the top of the mountain. Hot Cocoa for the kids which is awesome after a long day in the snow and a cold beer for the adults which is also pretty awesome. Extremely fast service. And of course the best part of of it all the awesome views from the top of the mountain.

I love this mountain all year. Whether as a way to get halfway up to the top in summer, or when the SoCal snow gods drop freshies during a strong season.

Great service and ambiance at the notch! Make sure to reserve your lift ticket and parking pass ahead of time to save a little on cost. Also, if you sign up for their rewards program you can benefit from free perks once you meet certain amounts. They have beer, spirits and diverse menu for bar food. Great panoramic views of the mountain. They have a merch store too at the notch for sweaters, hats and shirts. Overall great vibes and great staff!

Wish we did not also have to pay for wifi and that you were not always out of blonde beer. But whatever. All else is good. Burger good, amber ale good. space seating and views great

This restaurant is open all season and then the fall it's really great because you get to ride the sky lift which is roughly $25 a person. They have live music on top. And the food is really great if you do hike up there they have cold beer on draft and vegetarian burgers. The chili is really solid and excellent choice for those cold days. Note that they do take credit cards up top so you don't have to bring a bunch of cash.

Great breakaway with an outing deep into nature with music and great food at the top of the lifts! I really appreciated the veggie lasagna option! There are cabins too, I haven’t planned a weekend yet but I will one day! Really great place to change the monotony or every day thing😄

Breathtaking views, good brews, and chill vibes! There's even a little hidden plaque on the building put up by a well know A-lister who loves to frequent the place. It's a fun 5 minute quest to bestow upon after trying any of their local breweries on tap, and don't forget to satisfy your appetite with their delectable bratwursts!

Another winter day at Top of the Notch did not disappoint. We enjoyed lunch in between runs on the mountain - Two Bacon Blue Cheeseburgers with Fry Baskets and two Fire Break Irish Reds! The service was outstanding, the restaurant was cozy and clean and the views were, of course, AMAZING. If you've never been to 'Top of the Notch at Mount Baldy', it's definitely worth a visit or two. It's a very picturesque, unique corner of Los Angeles that should be experienced and celebrated.

I almost don’t want to review my beloved Mt Baldy because it’s a hidden gem. Amazing mountain with awesome staff and a laid back attitude that you can’t find at the corporate owned ski resorts. Please don’t change and keep providing an amazing stress reliever for me every winter.

Its been years since I have been up to the Notch. Great getaway from the concert jungle. Its only a 20+ min drive up the mountain to get to the ski lifts parking. You can take the ski lifts or hike up to get up to the Notch. Fresh air and the views are amazing.

The true beauty of altitude is attitude and with the family of Mt Baldy it’s inspiring. A 17 minute ride takes you from 6400 ft to 7800ft with great food and views from Catalina to the lower Sierra’s to Mt Charleston above Vegas. Winter or Summer find a better attitude with some altitude!

Other than the lift being a little scary for me. I had a wonderful time. The staffs were extremely nice and helpful. We did tubing, it was fun. I Used the far left lane to go down slower then I went down the other two lanes that were a little bit faster. Next time I’ll try the cabin and skiing. Make sure you pay online to get a better deal for the activities and also for parking.

Love doing the moonlit hikes in the Spring and summer! Cannot get enough of this Mountain! Just a quick drive up the mountain from the 210 fwy and so worth it! Absolutely wonderfully beautiful!! First off I want to say we didn't take the lift, he actually hiked up! It was a pretty medium trail! The hike up offered very beautiful views of SOCAL and what looked like the ocean! Now for the actual place, It was really nice to use the bathroom on the top and have a place to relax! We wanted to get lunch but sadly we were told they have no more food. Someone in the kitchen was listening to what sounded like cannibal corpse and all I can say is ROCK ON BUDDY!!🤟🤟🤟🤟🤘! They also have supplies at the top such as sweaters,beanies and other skiing gear such as goggles and I believe I saw actual skis! Would totally recommend this place!

very nice atmosphere and a place to recover from the cold. the food and drinks are somewhat expensive (i guess because they need to get groceries up to the notch, but there is a road all the way up. i guess the idle rich that enjoy the notch are rich enough to not mind expensive sodas, candy bars and god forbid actual food.

The location is 10/10. Amazing views, and the food is pretty good. Better than I’d expect for being on top of a mountain!

Considering that they have to bring everything via the lift (including staff members), the price and speed of service is great. I couldn’t believe they have amazing selection on #craftbeer. Perfect for #family too

Good place for a small mountain. The view is amazing, as expected up there. Food was ready quick and staff was friendly. Would be better with some music or something on the tv for those eating lunch to relax. Bar service was a little slow, but courteous.

We got the view overlooking the mountains so we didn’t mind paying $$$ for mediocre chicken tenders and fries. I really do wish they had better food but since there is no incentive to improve why would they, right? At least they have some draft beers and mulled wine. We took the lift up here to catch the last day of tubing and took the lift back down after lunch. Lots of hikers but not a huge crowd. I’ll come back for the hike and maybe I’ll give some other food items a try.

Took the ski lift up to Top of the Notch...it was super fun. $30 round trip for the ski lift or you can buy one way tickets up the mountain and hike down. At Top of the Notch we ordered sandwich plates that came with potato salad and a drink ($15 each). We ate lunch outside and took in the beautiful scenery. There was a wonderful breeze atop the mountain. After lunch, we walked around. There are tons of activities that look like fun when out of COVID times. Glamping tents are available for rent (not sure about right now) and look like a fun family thing to do as well!

The only issue I have is I have no idea how many Mt Baldy points I have at any given moment. Staff and hospitality was great. Lodging was good. Skiing was ok but that was bc of the weather. Rental ski process was great. Great small ski local area experience.

Lively and vibrant place with beautiful views. Both high rise and normal seating available internally. External seating was equally good. Toilets inside the restaurant. Free drinking water with plastic cups. Have variety of burgers, French fries including vegetarian burger. Drinks (soft) and beer is available. For those who ski, it’s an obvious place to eat. There is also seating behind the restaurant, which gives few awesome views. Over all great place to have brunch/ lunch/ drinks.

We took the lift 1300’ up to Top of the Notch restaurant and also walked on some of the trails by the restaurant. I also played a little in the snowy patch. The ski lift ride was peaceful and lovely, and the vistas from the top were spectacular! We could see to the ocean as well as out over the desert. I would love to return and hike more. At the restaurant we ordered a burger and a salad. Although the food is simple, both meals were fresh and delicious, and I would be happy to order food there again. I look forward to returning.

Great place to stop by after a hike or from some amazing skiing. Awesome atmosphere, great beers, and decent food. It's not 5 star, but come on, it's on the top of a mountain and right in so Cal's backyard. Prices are fair, and the staff are always nice. Beautiful views and a ski lift that operates all year round. So do not feel that you need to hike up to it. There is a parking lot at the base where you can leave your car and worries. Take the lift to the Top of the Notch and unwind. Oh and they sometimes have live music🎶. Definitely make it a point to visit.

Great experience once you get through lift ticket gauntlet. Maybe that’s intentional to keep the crowds away. Wasted an hour and a half in a line that barely moved. But once on the mountain it was like a throw back to when I learned to ski in Eastern Washington and North Idaho back in the late sixties. Chair 3 is a gem with lots of varied slopes and good tree skiing. The employees/volunteers were so nice and friendly. You don’t normally find that at other ski hills. They put the cherry on top of the experience

The mountain and terrain is great. It’s when you first get there. It took us 2 hours to just get our lift tickets. 2 HOURS. Felt like we were at disneyland. Once the day was down, took us another hour to get back down. It’s poorly managed when it comes to large crowds.

I was impressed by the menu, but unfortunately the kitchen was closed for a wedding and all they had was chicken nuggets, fries or pre-made lunch boxes. My box had an decent turkey sandwich, a bag of chips and an apple that was kinda squishy and yucky. I still gave it 3 stars because I was very glad it was there. I hiked up Mt. Baldy and as I was hiking down I used the bathrooms here, and filled my water bottles. Also, you can ride the lift down the last 1200 feet if your knees need a break.

After an morning on the slopes, this is the best food ever...great view, good atmosphere, and hearty food. Definitely overpriced but it's not like you have a choice, they've got you right where they want you: desperate lol
