The folks that work here do a great job and serve some amazing food. You need a NASA badge or be escorted to eat here and the food isn't free like most cafeterias in the valley. Highly recommend Juan's amazing clam chowder (available on Friday's only). Open for breakfast and lunch. Come early at lunch (right at 11AM) to avoid the crowds. Sandwich bar and daily specials are highly recommended!
I was at NASA Ames as they are a customer of the company I work for. This is a cafeteria but they do great work with the food. The staff near the main entre / kitchen window were the most happy and fun people I encountered during my trip. After a particularly stressful morning, it was a joy to joke around with the smiling staff. If I were to suggest one improvement, it would be that the tablets for ordering sandwiches / burgers/ made to order items are very confusing the first time. I first wasn't sure if I needed to use them or not. When I did, I was confused about how to pay. It turns out they just use them to get a custom food order up and you reconcile at the cashier later. However, I had to ask two people before I understood the flow. Once you learn this, you're good to go.
Probably the best Cafeteria of the NASA Centers! There's always a legit vegetarian option and their food is generally pretty good. You can actually get spicy food here.
Great cafeteria food! I love the burrito days and the pizza there isn't bad at all. Cool people all around and an overall good experience.
Nice staff who gets to know you. Good prices for quality food. Lines can sometimes be long.
Really good food, not terribly expensive, like not cheap but that's because the food is really good
Great food, happy hours are very happy!! & most of all is the great friendly staff!!!
Where the food of the Gods is served and where you realize you're having lunch with astronauts, engineers and scientists working in the cutting edge.
pretty good selection, decent price. also 10% off for nasa employees
Only place in town, but considering that, the food was great!

It's a cafeteria. So you can expect cafeteria type foods. Don't get any sandwich's or salads. They charge by weight and boy can it add up quick. Ordering from the grill is usually the best option. That or whatever their special is.
The hot lunches are generally quite good, except for the Indian food :( . There's a good variety of hot meals generally, including a vegetarian option. Juan is always super friendly, cheerful, and polite. Good service!
Salad and sandwich bar. Burrito Wednesdays. Rotating hot dishes and a menu of burgers and other hot sandwiches. Pretty good, though prices are creeping up to where nearby Togo's or Specialty's are competition.
Can get extremely packed during the summer, but the staff is always great and in a good mood. The food is pretty good for a cafeteria too.
Only place to eat on base. Best event is the monthly Happy Hour $2 wine & beer. Free appezziers
Food is good, lines are long getting your food, then even longer when it's time to pay.
great food at a really good price... thumbs up to the cooks.

Megabites is one of the two cafeterias at NASA Ames Research Center - you need a hard badge to gain access as it is located inside the center. They have a salad bar, deli as well as catered food available. The menu changes every week and shared on the internal agency website "Inside Ames". Lunches are typically $8-14, and very average food for the price. Be careful with your belongings - my purse got stolen and nobody turned it in.

Ahhhh, no. Please send the manager and staff over to Google’s cafeteria or the California academy of science’s cafeteria for some insights on what a 21st century cafeteria is like. Stuck in the 1980s.
