OK, it's $$, but it's worth it. My meal with lobster 🦞 tail was $50 (no shrimp , I ate my husband because he can't eat them). They do like to put a show for the kids. Although it's loud and you can barely hear the person next to you but I am OK with that. **** ***my husband can't eat mushrooms or shrimp , they were very cautious and considerate in regards to it. The chef tripled checked with us to make sure, and I am glad he did just show they take the proper precautions for food safty (he did use a different spatula when cooking chicken)*** ***

Great dinner last night for our family. The food was excellent as always and the service was even better. Manny was our chef (his brother was the chef at the table next to us as was equally as friendly) and they made sure our experience was great. Kathy and Lu were our servers and Ali was the manager. Complete class act all around. Thank you shogun for a great birthday dinner!!

I wanted to leave a review for Omar. I just wanted say that Omar wasn’t even our chef. However, he gave an amazing show. Tonight is Valentines Day and we were right next to him and were watching his show the whole time! I would love to go in at a later time and personally give him a tip! He was amazing. I Will definitely ask for him next time!

Very good food & prices! The interior of the restaurant is also very elegant. The quality of the ingredients/preparation of the food are really good.

We had an incredible night at Shogun! From the moment we walked in, the energy was great. Our chef was a total pro—not only was the 'onion volcano' and egg-flipping impressive, but the food actually backed up the performance. The Filet Mignon was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the fried rice is a must-have. It’s the perfect spot for birthdays or a fun night out with friends. We’ll definitely be back!

Went with my wife and 2 son's. We had a great dinner. I ordered the wagyu steak and it was delicious. The chef entertained us and the boys.

Wow let me tell you this place does not disappoint! From the food, to the atmosphere and of course the entertainment was a plus. Our server Michelle was great. Very attentive and kind. I would hope to get served by her again. Definitely coming back and recommending to friends and family. 10/10

One of the best (if not #1) "chop chop" restaurants. Having lived in LA, SD, DC, and Miami area- Shogun's food and service are top notch. The staff is great. What places this restaurant above its competitors is Chef Joel. My family and friends love the alternatives (e.g. extra garlic fried rice) he offers and others at our request. In fact, JOEL'S COOKING STYLE SHOULD BE THE STANDARD. Kudos to Lou also. She always makes us feel like we're VIP. The rest of the team is awesome. We will keep coming back. Thank you.

I called and got reservations. Visited today on a Thursday evening at 630pm to be exact. Party of 4. Our server was a nice lady who's name I didn't get. Our cook was Brendan. He said he had a long day but was still nice, attentive and put on a show. The place was busy for Thursday. Spent a total of $200.

Amazing food taste and quality.thank you chef Juan and server savannah for a nice dining experience, it was awesome 👍. This time it was not the same tofu in the onion soup? I expected ginger dressing instead its a lemon dressing?I guess it depends on which chef you get .I liked the ginger dressing and did not care for the tofu.as of 4-22-25 still as tasty as ever.

This is an excellent place where you can enjoy the cooking process right in front of you, but there is also a separate area where it's quieter, and you can simply order food from the menu. In the cooking show section, there is usually a queue, but there are seats available in this area. I really enjoyed the rice combo. The portion was gigantic, and the shrimp, chicken, and steak paired together perfectly! It was especially delightful that you didn't have to peel the shrimp by hand in this dish. I was also pleased with the complimentary iced tea refills.

Honestly it was in a bad place. But definitely when benihana has it going on you can't beat it. Not saying that a chef from any nationality can't do it, but when you're playing with spices there's only so much you can do if you haven't grown up with it. Our guy was excellent but waitress was hit and miss and I really think our guy was the funnest but the entire restaurant was empty first and then they all came in roughly 10 minutes apart but with their own music blasting. So by the time our guy is blasting the eagles from some '80ss hip hop song the next guy comes in with baby got back on top of some other MC Hammer song at another table. And for myself for the iced tea, their passion or tropical iced tea. It's just like rigorized tea with some tropical syrup and I did not like that unlike some better restaurants with a perfect blend of brewed tea, those spices. My wife didn't care for the chicken too much. I enjoyed the ribeye but it was 15% fat. And they put the colossal shrimp next to their samurai shrimp or whatever they call it. Colossal tastes a little bit better but not that much but worth extra $4, I will say that they had a really good miso soup. Sometimes other teppan type of restaurants get a two miso seaweeds flavor going on. This one was perfect. I'm sure authentic Japanese people would debate that kind of like a Hispanic person not having tapatio on their Pizza. You just get used to the flavors. The hosting staff were pretty good. I'm not going to lie. I think by the time we left though they were ready to leave but it was only nine.

I am a sucker when it comes to teppan and I like Benihana. I was told the Shogun has a similar vibe and so I went to this one to check it out. The food was not bad, the service was great, and atmosphere was similar to Benihana...the show, however, needs to be better, like much better...because it was pitiful, at best. I am not there for the show as this is a food review, but the show is part of the charm of Shogun. I am already being generous here by giving this a 4 stars. OMG - they really need to work on their cooking shows - seriously lacking here.

Sushi eating etiquette. Does such a concept exist with your friends and/or family? Well for this particular Review Team we reached consensus to adopt a “family style” approach. All of the dishes were regarded as communal property and available to the first interested party within striking distance when assisted by their individual chopsticks. Regularly frequented by @ct_miller19 and @taylormarie_19, “Shogun” offers a large assortment of rolls that ought to satisfy even a large group of diverse palates. We sampled the Shrimp Tempura Roll, GSC Roll, San Diego Roll, Crunchy Dragon Roll, and Crazy Boy Roll. Although each of them provided a unique path to Flavor Town, they all shared a similar fate: complete domination and utter annihilation! In fact, all of the plates they were served on provided almost no evidence of their prior existence. 🤤 Also impressive to me was the tanginess of the Cucumber Bites, the balanced proportions of the Garlic Edamame, the controlled aggression of the Spicy Mayo, and the tenderness and flavors of the Gyoza (easily the best I’ve had in the U.S.). You and your crew are free to adopt your own views regarding sushi eating etiquette, but I recommend that you agree to give Shogun a chance to impress you. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #sushieatingetiquette #shogunsushi #temeculasushi

We joined a friend here. Haven’t been for years and when we have gone in the past it was always at the teppan bar for the show. This time we ate in the regular restaurant area. Our server was very nice and helpful. It was amazingly busy for a Tuesday evening so she was hustling. We ordered our first drink while looking at the menu and that drink came fast. Then we ordered. When we ordered, we asked for a repeat drink order. Our soup and salad came out in about 5 minutes as expected. We are just starting to eat our soup and 2 minutes later our appetizers arrive. We try to situate each of our soups, salads and now appetizers on the table and we are only one sip into our soup and here comes the sushi rolls and entrees. Wow, great the kitchen is fast but usually you pace bringing out each step of the eating process. We asked about our drinks and were told the bar is a bit behind. Overall. The environment is nice but crowded. The teppan is always entertaining but the regular restaurant is kind of drab and not very exciting. Felt like it’s just stuck in a corner. Wish they would coordinate food delivery to be a little smoother. Tho the rolls presented very well, I wish there was a little more flavor. We will give it a try again in the future.

My party was not impressed with the service. They felt they were being ignored. I, on the other hand, didn't feel that way. However they did serve the food rudely by a slight toss of the food to enough where the food moved. The food was plain. I enjoy good spicy foods and the only one that had a hint of spicy was the salmon ceviche roll. The rest was good just not impressive. The server also took quite some time to ring up or order. I will give it another try one day. It is Christmas Eve so maybe we should consider that as a factor.

Over all the food and the service was great good ambience they had the right sports games playing at the right time not too crowded air conditioning working good however they changed the way they prepare the vegetables on the grill and don't taste the same as they used to or at least we didn't like them or enjoy them if it wasn't for that we would have given them 5 stars. The appetizers and the deserts and the happy hour appetizer specials were also very good.

I went here yesterday for lunch with my dad, the place was quiet and there wasnt much people. We got a table very quickly, and we didnt have to wait too long for food. My father enjoyed his yakisoba , he said it was good. I had spicy tuna sushi and the sushi was just way too sticky and firm than it should be. The mochi icecream is supposed to be squishy for the outer part but it was hard and frozen. Our server michelle was helpful though, she was a good server.

I’m writing this review because what happened to me at the Shogun in Temecula was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable. I dined here on Saturday with three other people. We are frequent customers and have eaten and ordered from this location many times. On this visit, I paid my bill in full by credit card and left the restaurant with my group. Once I was fully outside the restaurant, a server named Jackie, who was not our server and was assigned to a completely different table, ran after me and publicly accused me of not paying. There was no attempt to verify anything internally, no checking of the POS system, and no discussion with our actual server before confronting me. The accusation was made loudly and publicly, which was humiliating and shocking—especially since I had done nothing wrong. When we immediately went back inside to address this with the manager on duty, Ali, we were told she had “just clocked in” and that she “didn’t know what to tell us.” There was no investigation, no apology, and no effort to correct the situation. We were essentially dismissed after being falsely accused. The accusation was completely false. I paid. There were witnesses. This could have been resolved in seconds by simply checking their system, but instead I was chased outside and treated like I had committed a crime. As a Black woman, being falsely accused of theft in public—without verification—hits differently. Whether intentional or not, the lack of care, professionalism, and accountability in this situation was alarming. Mistakes happen. But how a business handles them matters. Chasing a customer outside, accusing them without proof, and then failing to address it afterward is not acceptable. I hope management takes this seriously and reevaluates training and protocols so this doesn’t happen to someone else. Until then, I cannot recommend this location.

Went there for mu sons birthday, specified on our reservation. It was first time habachi dinning for his gf so we thought it would be so fun and a great experience for her. Well…. Our server had a horrible attitude not one smile just bad attitude all together. Throughly the duration of our meal, ordered a drink and got it 20min later after we had to remind or get someone else to check on the drink, then came the cook, his attitude too was very blah no eye contact with us, over cooked some of our stuff, thr cook behind us has great atmosphere music that we enjoyed. When he finished our cook put music on and if I tell you it gave us a headache is an understatement it was that hard metal music. Horrible service altogether good over cooked and dealt with bad attitudes. Asked the server about the birthday and they had an attitude about it, rudely dropped a piece of desert with a candle that she didn’t even light Infront of my son as if it was an inconvenience. I’ve called to complain to a manager all week and ive been getting they are not available right now, I’ve left my number and nothing. Just sux that I paid over $400 For 7 of us to what was suppose to be a break experience to not so much. Very disappointed
