My favorite Kava bar of all time, and one of my favorite places in all of the Nevada City Grass Valley area. Welcoming vibe, friendly staff, a great place to chat, play games or read a book. Just a wonderful place to hang out for an afternoon or evening.

This is an amazing spot that I would recommend to anyone passing through the Nevada City / Grass Valley area - it’s such a gem of the community. The menu is extensive, the drinks are delicious and the staff is incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. I’ve tried several drinks here over the past year, stopping in any time that I’m passing through the area. Every time I’ve come in the bartenders have been incredibly supportive with any questions I have. The menu has a very wide variety of drinks from herbal cocktails to cacao to puer teas. there has definitely been a couple things on the menu that I was unfamiliar with and the bartenders have always been able to explain the medicinal benefits of all the beverages and ingredients. Most recently I stopped here after ecstatic dance on a Tuesday night, and there was a live DJ and incredibly sweet vibes with some people connecting at the bar & tables, while others boogied on the dance floor. Bartenders Sean and Cole were absolutely wonderful as they tended to a very crowded space with grace and friendliness. As a traveler who isn’t local to the area I have always felt incredibly welcome. It’s also a super friendly space for families (with a really nice diaper changing station in the bathrooms!). I love that the atmosphere curated here is alcohol free - it keeps the energy high while cultivating a space of grounded connection.

We went for the New Years eve celebration. Amazing place to just be in the present moment enjoying the surroundings and taking in the whole bar experience without the booze. So grateful 🙏 we have a place to go and experience life without the need to change the way we feel with drugs or alcohol. Definitely a place to frequent.

Oh my gosh!! I had a horrible 12 hour shift, so stopped by on my way home. Harley was awesome when I asked her to make me a drink to help me wind down. She gave me a drink that calmed me and helped the stress melt away. So blessed to live near this amazing place in our beautiful community. Thank you Harley you are an angel 😇

Elixart is an amazing gathering place with lots of superfoods on their stellar menu. You will want to lounge and kick back with the beautiful beings that hang out here. We felt welcomed and had some enlightened conversations connecting with everyone of the locals that frequent this place.

Eclectic ambience. The coconut cream saffron rose pie with almond date crust was indulgent and well made. Drinks were unique and delightful. Would def return if in the area!

This place was really fun for a night out! The staff was so welcoming and friendly, I had never tried kombucha so they gave me this welcome sampler. It was super cute and tasted surprisingly good, I ended up getting Golden Ambrosia!

Service is a job that requires real thoughtfulness, awareness and many other skills to do right, so I want to call out someone at Elixart who consistently goes the extra mile to do an AMAZING job. Her name is Moonshine and the things I like most are the way she: - consistently keeps track of who is next in line, even when the counter is being swarmed with customers (I've had other baristas serve many other people who arrived AFTER me, and it can get frustrating) - she does that simple little thing where she acknowledges your presence if she's working on other orders, just so you know she sees you and will get to you asap - she makes sure to mix the powdered drinks thoroughly, so there aren't chunks stuck to the cup - she's always friendly and positive (but this is secondary to me---I personally want good service more than friendliness.) Don't get me wrong, all the baristas currently are great! This isn't a put down of them. It's just that when I walk in and see Moonshine behind the counter, some part of me relaxes, knowing that I'm going to be helped quickly and the drinks will be made really well (it's not a good feeling to pay $12 for a drink [with tip] and have it mixed poorly, etc) Moonshine treats her service job like a real job with real skills---which it is! If all servers in Nevada County were like her, I would honestly go out a lot more than I do. Instead, what's happened is quality of service has decreased, while the expectation of 20%-30% tips, just for picking up food from a counter, has become normalized (which is why I rarely go out anymore.)

Great vibes, a must stop on your trip to nevada City! Vegan and vegetarian friendly. They have a wonderful selection of health products and fine teas as well as amazing alcohol free drinks. The night time bartenders are all friendly and welcoming. This is a wonderful family friendly place to come and see live music and events almost every night of the week. Everything I've tried is organic and high quality and most importantly delicious.

When ever I go to Elixart I am met with connection, good conversation, good music and vibes! I love that people are coming together to partake in healthy tea’s and tonic’s, including kava and cacao giving another option to traditional bar’s. I enjoyed rounds of kava with a wonderful group of people, Evan and the staff there are so warm and welcoming and always make great suggestions. I often get to hear great DJ’s and music there and love seeing young people playing board games and coming together in person. My favorite drink so far is the stout with shilajit which is non alcoholic and makes me feel grounded and nourished! With the struggles in the world and in our own lives Elixart provides a way to come together free from isolation, unhealthy addictions and anxiety. A place to regulate our nervous systems with tea’s and superfoods while being surrounded by expressive arts and community. Well done Friends I am grateful for this cozy home base and never visit Nevada City with out stopping in!

I had never been into Elixart until now. I'm not sure why because I don't drink alcohol but I like to go out and socialize and listen to live music. The minute I walked in there happened to be a poetry reading by a Rasta looking guy and then some reggae and fusion music followed for the next hour or two. I had kava and a super tonic stout. Ordered a bowl of dehydrated Kale that had these wonderful flavors. I will be back!

They have creative non alcoholic drinks. Kava is on point. Live music on some nights. Great place to hang out on the porch. Nice place to have tea and work during the day. Highly recommend.

I also got the most incredible massage from Steven, his hands are total magic. I definitely recommend coming here on a Sunday night. It feels so good to be in flow, grounded, and sober.

Been coming here for years. Felt like it deserves a review from someone who’s been a customer for about a decade. This place is not only a community hub with a good vibe, great events and an incredible assortment of unique liquid delicacies, but it’s also a one stop shop for all sorts of health tonics, supplements, and information. Sean, who’s been working there as long as I can remember, is always a wealth of information and humor, providing solid service and great drinks at the same time.

I don't drink alcohol, so I like that there's a nice place to go to have non-alcoholic drinks. They have a very extensive menu. Definitely not my scene when they have music or other events, but I will stop in for a kava drink mid-day.

I have been few weeks ago for a reggae concert and has been just horrible. Definitely a beautiful concept but when it comes a music event.. oh please no.... They definitely invited AMAZING artists, but the venue it was just the worst that I never saw and experienced in my life: multicolors lights on, like a teenager birthday party and a really low quality sound system. Really sad! I feel really sorry for the artists that they need to perform on the stage
