Passed by this place randomly and we had a great time. The bartender Joe was super friendly and made us feel right at home and the frozen margaritas were just the right thing to beat the heat. They also have hotdogs which is a plus.

Strolled by here by chance during the early afternoon while coming off a party drunk from the night before and looking for a noodle joint for eats. Just me, the bartender and another patron, getting breezy n' boozy. Crazy mad fun, just like New York moments should be. I might have a different experience coming here deliberately at a different time (and I WILL be going back, trust that) but for now, five stars for being perfect when I didn't know I needed it! 👍🏾

Stepping inside the narrow, graffiti-ed walls of Clockwork is like stepping into a favorite hole in the wall circa 1981: intense, wired men with their heavily made up girlfriends in fishnets rock out to a mix of The Heartbreakers, James Chance and The Contortions and the occasional Rolling Stones and Kiss songs (true, the same bar might not have played the latter two in '82, but time has passed). But this place is not self-conscious or tragic. It's defiant, but welcoming. Just come here and have some fun.

$7 for a Casamigos and Soda? Either I stepped into a time machine or this bartender is getting fired soon. This place is a dump but I’ll be back!

NY’s best dive bar! I came here alone because I’m a loser and my wife didn’t invite me out to dinner with her friends (not after last time). I was hoping to be surrounded by more lost souls… Instead I probably looked like Travis Bickle at the bar. Hunched over. Smirking to myself in the mirror. Judging the groups of virile young friends having a great night out. Completely out of touch with reality while simultaneously craving some kind of social connection… But damn that beer and well shot combo for $6 can’t be beat!

One of the best and cheapest dive bars in lower Manhattan. Always fun, great bartenders, and filled with characters in every corner. Can't beat the prices or the location. Right up from the F line. Highly recommend it, just don't be pretentious.

Funky bar with a wide range of ages. Somewhat on the small side so it can get crowded but it had a good vibe and inexpensive drinks.

What can I say? Clockwork is an excellent punk dive on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. One of my favorite places in NY: bartenders are always friendly, the music is always top-notch, the vibe is punk/dive, and the drinks are cheap! You truly can’t ask for more ✌🏽

Boogie was a fantastic bartender. This is a great punk bar! Loved the service, the conversation, and while the bathrooms smelled a little bad, there was soap and toilet paper in them which is a win :) I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a good punk bar in Brooklyn!

Great spot for after dinner drinks. My bf is into punk rock music, so I thought I would surprise him and bring him here. He loved it and we are coming back again. The bartender was super funny and gave the place a fun vibe.

Cheap beers. More like a local neighborhood bar than a city punk bar for better or worse. Everyone there knows each other. But... not a huge fan of hidden card charges.

DIVE BAR!! This tiny hole in the wall is lively and fun. Don't expect a seat or to host a large crowd.

A cool non-pretentious place, great underground/punk-rock vibe and music. It's not too big so it might get crowded fast on weekends. The alcohol is definitely one of the cheapest options you'll find in that area, and their pickle-shot is something cool (albeit weird) to try out when you're there.

Good cheap drinks and a nice grungy type atmosphere. If you want a quiet table to yourself this is the wrong bar but if you want to go hard with some friends and maybe meet some other people this might be the place. Kinda cramped you'll definitely have to push past people on a busy night but still ultimately a good time

Clockwork Bar is a dive bar. It's the perfect place to pregame, or if you're just looking for a few drinks. Where else can you find pickle-backs or a shot + beer (house liquor + Budweiser) for $5? And this isn' just during happy hour - it's ALL DAY. Clockwork is not for the type of nights where you want to sit and catch up with your friends and have a chill night. It is for the type of nights where you have had a long ass week, everyone is getting on your last damn nerve, and you want to have many, many drinks, without breaking the bank. Will definitely be back the next time I have one of those latter nights.

Other than that, very hip and crowded bar, but a good time to be had. Just wished it was a little bigger, so that I can sip on my Gin & Coconut without having it spill all over my friends as people tug and shove around us.

Red lit and grungy, this hole in the wall retreat really made an alternative feel comfortable. I didnt have to strain to hear my date, even with the bar decently full, and the tab didn't make it my only outing that week.

This bar had affordable drinks and a good playlist, your typical punk dive bar. My only concern was there was a significant fruit fly problem in the bathroom. Like a hundred of them flying around. All for dirty dives but that was gross.

This dive bar has a lot of cheap drinks. The beer is cheaper than most places in this neighborhood. If your looking for a chill place with cheap drinks to hang out with friends this is the place. There are tables to sit it. The beer here is around $6 and you can’t get a shot of whiskey with the beer for $2.

Didn't eat, had a canned Guinness but would have preferred tap. But it is geared toward a local and younger crowd it appears with IPA's on tap being tasty. Atmosphere was a clockwork orange and possibly the influence to this bar. Fun place if with friends or if you are artsy or just looking to get a buzz.

Service was great, the bartender was approachable and friendly. The place itself smells really badly. Like cheese and garbage left out in the summer sun.

This is a go for the I’ve been there before experience. Definitely dicey, definitely tiny. No music playing when I was there but wouldn’t matter since the small crowd of about 7 was way louder than anything else. Yes beers are “cheap” but you’re paying $4-8 for a 12oz can Similarly, the draft beers at around $7 seem cheap but are poured into those 8oz plastic cups so they’re really $14 a pint. A one and done for me.

Got pretty hammered so my recollection might not be the best. However, I remembered they had a good beer and shot combo. $7 shots so me and a friend took turns taking shots with each other. The place is a little small but other then that would probably go again.

This place was second on a Tuesday birthday crawl. It's fairly narrow, but we found a table in the back covered in graffiti. They have a few beers available.

I went to the bar tonight, and I asked for a cup of popcorn. The bartender refuses to give me the popcorn because "I didn't tip the bartender". I always pay for my usual drinks. I was really insulted. I've been a regular customer for a year now (Circa April 2017- March 2018) and I am very disappointed. I did love going to that bar but I’ve never been denied service for rookie mistakes.

They scammed me! Charging $15 additional dollars 2 days after I went to the bar. Thankfully I have proof of what I was originally charged for and my bank is disputing the transaction. Beware of using cards here!!!!

Had this place recommended by a friend. Entered with a group of 6 ppl and the bartender checked all of our ids but the last man In our group was from London and only had his passport and the bartender refused to even look at it. Rude and arrogant to a group of 8, barely letting us enter the bar before obnoxiously questioning all our ids (all valid and well over 21) and all this occurred during the daytime. While cerebrating a birthday. I will never attend this bar again while this bartender is working. Usually don’t write these things but I’m beyond irritated.

Bartender during the day was blacked out. Stopped the only woman of color in our group and told her her ID was fake. When we told him to call the police to doublecheck, he refused and kicked us out. I’m a normal at this bar and I come here every weekend and I’m very disappointed in the fact that the daytime bartenders are comfortable being so openly racist and inappropriate towards clientele
