Sit down cafe, service was prompt, friendly, and personable, food was very good, had the asparagus quiche and chicken salad. Both were delicious. Dessert was triple layer carrot cake and was so good it disappeared in seconds.

Nice place! So much expensive WITH NO reason. Food is not something special, cappuccino was a little bit disaster ( about flavor...) and the cold brew was disaster as well. So sorry, but it's was my opinion.

Upper East side institution, with excellent but pricey sandwiches, salads and desserts for eat in or take out. I had a delicious quiche and my brother and dad split a brisket sandwich and each had a soup.

Will, our waiter, was THE BEST. The food was excellent and the service we experienced was some of the best we've ever had. The prices may be a little high, but it was certainly worth it. The location and outdoor seating were also excellent. We will definitely be returning!

Had a great experience here, even more so since it was an unplanned visit. We dined in and bought a slice of lemon meringue pie and a brownie - they were both super tasty! My iced coffee was lovely and the lemon meringue pie was amazing. They had a great selection of sweet treats.

Lovely café two blocks away from the MET. I took refuge from the rain here and I have to firstly appreciate the great service, they were all so quick in bringing my order even though it was pouring outside. The macchiato for me was perfect, a good, strong coffee like I enjoy, and from all the patisserie options I couldn’t decide! I tried a raspberry scone and it was great, not too sweet, not to buttery, as a scone should be.

Had a great quick meal. Proper authentic Jewish deli, excellent matzo soup, pastrami, Eli Zabar bread. Pricey but you’re on Madison Avenue so stop complaining.

The MET has limited food choices due to COVID-19. This restaurant is close by and full of delicious culinary choices to eat on-site or to-go. There are tables with wait staff indoors and out. Or, you can sit on the benches near the door and people watch. I recommend the delicious kale salad and quiches.

E.A.T. lives up to its simple, confident name where it matters most — the food is genuinely excellent, with high quality ingredients and well-crafted dishes that make every bite worthwhile. It's clearly a place that takes its food seriously and it shows. Service and atmosphere are both average though, which feels like a missed opportunity for a gourmet spot of this caliber on the Upper East Side. With more attentive service and a warmer, more inviting space, E.A.T. could be an absolute destination.

Sometimes the Met Museum restaurants are too crowded so it's nice to have someplace fairly close as a backup. E.A.T. is it for us! With an art-deco sensibility, it's a pleasant place to stop for a nosh/lunch. We enjoyed coffee (a generous pot was left for each of us), an egg salad sandwich (cut-off crust), and a grilled cheese on sourdough that was delicious. Service was quick, and we did not leave hungry. Granted: pricey, but decent portions. We'll keep it on our radar for lunch on future Met visits.

We walked up to the MET to see a couple of the new exhibits. Then we walked back towards midtown and decided to stop at E.A.T. For lunch. We looked inside but decided to sit at one of the covered outside tables. Service was quick and professional. We ordered a chopped liver sandwich and a Turkey club on multi grained bread. Both were very delicious and made just right. Both were rather large portions. Along with an ice tea, it was a very enjoyable lunch.

Very convenient and delicious traditional New York deli. They have a large array of foods and some great brunch. The service is very friendly. It's pricey, but worth it. I recommend the tower of bagel and the jams.

EAT looks great from the outside but the restaurant is very busy with some tight seating in some areas. Service is attentive but when we were ready to leave it was hard getting the bill. My wife loved her blintzes but my salad combo was just okay. Egg salad was fine but the tabbouleh was a little different than how I have had it before. Best bite was the pastries we grabbed at their takeout counter, full of chocolate buttery goodness.

The service is excellent the staff are friendly. While the pastries look delicious, the coffee was unfortunately a miss. Great for the vibes, but not for the brew."

My diet is opportunistic: I eat what's fastest and closest. It is very hard to disaponte me! The price was clearly displayed: $20 for a tiny tomato, mozzarella, basil sandwich. It wasn't mentioned that the bread is stale. It wasn't worth $2. You would expect quality from this location, but it's a no competition ripoff. Two stars for being honest about prices.

I got 2 sandwiches to go in the store. What I thought it was gonna be a nice crunchy mini baguette sandwich ended up being a total disappointment, super hard to bite, super chewy, it really took an effort; not even worth the 16 dollars I payed for. Salmon sandwich was good though.

Disappointed to say the least. Server Jeff was arrogant and rude. He clearly didn’t value our business. We are not local and we’re looking for a hot meal on a rainy day. As soon as we entered he didn’t make an effort to seat us, we had to ask. Once we were sat he was dismissive of our requests and got our order wrong. We felt uncomfortable being at the restaurant and were very quick to leave.

We ordered a soup and two salads. We saw the waiter write it down but only the soup ever arrived. 40 mins later he stops by to ask if we were waiting for anything else. Unfortunately it’s hard to say anything while we are waiting without angering staff. So we just left.

I bought ice cream and two pieces of cake(Coconut and Radpberry). Ice cream was fine but there is a GREEN MOLE inside a cake. Please be aware when you visit this place. Don't risk your life.

Nasty nasty place ! 28$ for a Ham sandwich?????? I honestly have no idea how they are still in business!!!??? All the reviews on this place are absolutely horrible because it’s all true!!!! I hope they relocate or adjust the prices!!! I really doubt they will adjust the prices. They have to take everything off the shelves and readjust the whole business model. This place is absolutely a scam, never buy food or drinks. I was in a rush and the cashier didn’t say the price out loud so I assumed it would be relatively priced, but was shocked about the price. That’s probably how they scam most people when they are in a rush . I hope this place gets shut down honestly . Also attaching a photo of the disgusting sandwich

This is one of those places charging an absurd amount of money for crumby food because they’re located on the upper east side of Manhattan. And my Grandma’s instant coffee tasted better. I regularly shoplift this criminal enterprise for the fun of it! You should too!!

Just purchased a bottle of Raspberry conserve, the worst raspberry conserve I have ever tasted. Shame on me for not checking they used to sell conserve that was made in France this is made in Cambridge, MA the colour is brown not even Raspberry colour and to add insult to injury a small 8.75 Oz bottle was $18, what a ripoff. This is the same place where they sell second rate cup cakes for $7 a piece STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

It's probably already too late by the time you read this review, as you are probably writing your own. I've got to say the food isn't bad. Tastes like the chef really took time to make the food with quality ingredients. However I really was not a fan of the the service is really bad. I rather the owner take away that complimentary bread basket (the bread was rock hard in multiple different textures)and do something to level out the prices and or use that money as an incentive for better service. Oh by the way if the menu says you are getting one cup of soup, you will be literally receiving 250cc or less of soup. Blew my mind.
