Preguntas frecuentes sobre Sathi
Opiniones de Sathi New York
Great food, incredible value, astounding service. We loved everything we ordered (samosa chaat, pakora, lentil soup, lamb curry, chicken tikka, and gulab jamun). Even the beginning cracker was delicious. Nicest waiters in the world. Get the prix fix deal.
Last remnant of decent restaurants that provide a healthy portion. Be ready to take left overs home because portion size is amazing. The food was really tasty and I am finding it harder and harder to find lamb samosa; it was delicious. They have the best green chutney I can find. It really hits the nail on the head. Love this place... please don't give in to shrinkflation and stay wonderful!
My friend and I went for lunch, and everything was really good! Between us we got saag paneer, paneer tikka masala, and chana masala. We also got a vegetable samosa, and it was ginormous. There was so much naan, and it was thick but flaky and buttery. The portions were great. We both took food home. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. We loved our experience, and the staff were so nice. Highly recommend for the lunch special and samosas!!
A wonderful experience. I had my favorite Lamb Tikka Massala and it tasted just the way I like it. The server was also very polite and took care of us. I would recommend. Durga, you’re amazing!
Absolutely amazing! The food is incredible, and the hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is very clean, with super fast service, and I had a fantastic experience dining in. Lamb momo (especially fried) is a must-try!! They even offered me rasmalai as a friendly gesture. This place has easily become one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. 10/10!
As a fellow Indian who's been trying restaurants to find the most authentic and homestyle restaurant, this is it. A Nepali place where the food feels like I've gone back home. Its a perfect place to chill and have amazing food. Pricing was on point as well as the quantity of each dish. A group of 4 people made do with 2 curries and 2 Naans. Comes with the rice as well. This place is genuinely god sent.
The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! The hospitality was warm and welcoming — the staff made us feel so comfortable and home welcoming vibes. A perfect dining experience overall, can’t wait to visit again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️All good taste was amazinggggggggggggg… Highly Highly Highly recommend this place Who miss there Asian home cooked food ❤️
I’m very picky when it comes to Indian food but I got a recommendation to check this spot out and I’m impressed. They were able to adjust the spice levels per individual requests and each dish turned out exactly as we hoped. The staff is really helpful and remained patient with our large group. I’m excited to have found a reliable laid back punjabi restaurant. Lastly I have to shout out the laccha paratha!
I had this restaurant saved in my google maps for a long time and I happened to be in the neighborhood so I was finally able to stop by and give it a try. The food was amazing! I arrived shortly after they opened and there were plenty of seats available and more people started coming in. The portion size for the price (pre fix special) was excellent, lots of options to choose from and all the food tasted fresh. The service was great too, my cup was constantly being filled up with water which I appreciated. I am definitely looking forward to going back and trying more dishes. Highly recommend!!
Me and my boyfriend went here for dinner before our train home, and we had a perfect experience. Our waitress, Durga, was extremely thoughtful and attentive, and asked us about dietary restrictions, how the seating was, if we were comfortable, and even brought us a complementary rice pudding. Beyond the incredible service, the food was amazing, and we ate literally everything. We will absolutely visit again the next time we have the opportunity, and if you’re considering it, you should too 😊
Update July 2025. The special has gone up to 28.95, so we ordered separate dishes to share family style. Still incredible. Flavors and service are unbeatable. Genuinely some of the best Indian/Himalayan food I’ve had. Unbeatable special- includes appetizer, entree, rice, and either naan or a dessert for $23.95. Our server was extremely attentive and so sweet. Would return just for her! Our cups never went below below the halfway mark. Cool atmosphere, dark and quiet.
Great portions, well worth the price! We decided to order Indian food from Uber Eats on a whim, and Sathi popped up. Reviews mentioned their butter chicken so we tried it, along with the tandoori chicken, vegetable samosas, pakoras, and garlic naan. Everything was so delicious!! Each item we tried was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and fresh! Sathi just became our new go-to Indian restaurant, and we can’t wait to visit in person!
Food is very Good. 4.3 We had one of the lunch specials. I had chicken tikka masala along with chicken vindaloo. And the naan bread. Overall, the meal and the place is in the high four. Good Indian restaurant. One thing that they could try for is for the chicken to be a little bit more tender and soft. But other than that very good meal. If you’re in the mood for solid Indian food, I cannot recommend a better place on third Avenue
Overall rating: 4.75 I ended up having a large breakfast, so just had a snack here but the samosas were very good. I LOVED the mango lassi!! The samosas are great but very hot. I think I had to wait a good 7-10 minutes before they cooled down. While I only had two items, the service was so so nice. So nice & friendly it was very noticeable. Some of the menu items were a tad too expensive for menu, but definitely want to come back with a friend or a date. Highly recommend.
I was impressed at the papadoms were made in house. The hera- chutney is also incredible, complete with ginger as well as garlic and a few other spices. Everything appears to be made fresh, with as little pre-made/ industrialized components as possible. The staff worked well together making sure that everybody always had a full cup of water and that everything was okay. The restaurant has a wonderful first date vibe, and also is a good place to get together with friends. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like a wonderful meal!
NYC is so expensive 💰 for foreigners! I guess if you have a NYC salary life is easier… otherwise, when you must eat out everyday, you have to look for lunch specials to survive (economically, of course)… Sathi New York is an Indian restaurant in Gramercy that offers lunch specials AND has good reviews, and since I’d been craving for Indian food for weeks, that had to be our spot for lunch. Usually, comparing Indian restaurants is very easy for me because I always order the same: a plain naan and a lamb byriani. In that case, I had to change to take advantage of the lunch special. An opportunity to try something new! 🤩 Honestly, the food was abundant enough and very good. There was nothing revolutionary about it but for $15 that’s not what you expect either 🤗 The service was attentive, the staff was nice and the venue is ok. Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 8/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Originality: 6/10 Ratio price / quality: 9/10 Service: 8/10 How I felt afterwards: 8/10 More on IG @runnerandfoodie
The lamb samosas were excellent, gamey, juicy, and well seasoned, in a crumbly wrapper. I liked the vegetable dumplings, especially after waiting a while for them to soak in the curry. I was less fond of the shrimp, even though it was perfectly fine, it just didn't wow me. The waiters were very nice, and that made a difference.
If we could give half stars, this would be a 4.5. Despite having read the reviews, we were still surprised by the large portion sizes. Three of us ordered pakora, paneer tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, baingan bharta, and the chilli momos. We also got the garlic and regular naan. Honestly, we were already pretty full before the entrees even came out; but we were all able to get 2 meals out of this! The service was friendly and helpful, and the highlight was actually the paneer tikka masala - not really what I expected; but I'll definitely be back for some more.
Food was decent I guess. First time trying Indian food so I have no idea if the butter chicken was supposed to be that dry. It had ok flavor and the curry was good. 10-20 minutes waiting time. Good service.
Not sure about the high ratings. 3 people eating all agreed flavor was lacking. Also these guys don't deliver, lazy. Makes you go through a vendor, food comes like warm and prices on these 3rd parts are about 10 percent higher, on top of added fees and charges. Sorry Sathi - you are not the place for us.
If there is horrible Indian food, it has to be this one. First of all, it took an outrageous amount of time for the food to even come to our table, when other tables whom came after us were getting it quicker. Not only this after we finally got our food, it was bland, for example, the Veg Curry, which was absolutely tasteless and without any spices, so much for being a Indian restaurant when Indian cuisine is known for their spices. Not only this, but the butter chicken, I don’t even know if I can call it chicken, a standard dish in any Indian restaurant, was a letdown, both in terms of taste and the chewy nature of the chicken. Prioritizing the takeout orders rather the in-restaurant orders also slowed down the process just to get the food. Overall, would not recommend.
