Great food! Great service! Must do for sure!
UPDATED Excellent place, very personal service and I spoke to a person there Jennifer who is kind with her time and explain to me a lot of the elements of the place. This is my second time here in two days and I definitely recommend learning how to order because there are probably some right ways to do it and some wrong ways to do it so I think there's a learning curve and there are different things that you might or might not like so I think the next time I will be better off in terms of choosing something that will be perfect. This is a great place and you get a lot of food and there's a lot of options to choose from, and the app works very well. It's a very good situation. I think some tutorials would help because it's a lot to process but this is a great place and I definitely will be coming back. I created a new spot here called pita corner so that's what this is it's a magical spot, so enjoy. ORIGINAL REVIEW YES I thought it was really good and it's an excellent system. That being said, I was a little upset as a first-time visitor how difficult it is to process something that could be more simply explained. There's an offer as well for $5 discount if you sign up for the app which will make it easier for you to order. The display is clear but the numbers confuse the fact that you get a free options of your choice from the list as well as have the option for paying additionally for a different set. I thought it was delicious and I loved what they offer. It's a cute little store and basically a little bit challenging to find because it's tucked away nicely. One thing that stood out is the fact that they offer water. That is rare. I was tired at the time and it was difficult to figure out the system and I spoke to someone there and he understood how I thought the sign could be improved. It's not the role of someone working there to listen to every little thought of another person but I am a top reviewer and I elevate local businesses so I was impressed with the responsiveness of the people there to listen to my thoughts. I thought the falafel was great and I loved all the toppings it's just really sensational amidst lots of unhealthy choices one could have gotten nearby by not going there. So I will definitely be going back and signing up for the app and I really think this is a place to consider as well as several other people told me it's great. I definitely think they have something here and I think with a few simple refinements it can really be a very strong offering and it basically already is. I think that many places are reticent to offer water so I definitely think this is a pretty strong recommend if not basically a strong recommend. I will update this review the next time I go. Check it out if you like and enjoy. Have a great day.
One of the smallest stores I have seen but the customer service is extraordinary and the food is excellent
So good always! The staff is super friendly and helpful :) Bassem was amazing!
Finally, quality and flavor are back! I stopped getting take out about a year ago . The falafel was being overcooked and I stopped coming just saw a few people eating a falafel meal that looked great! It came from Taim. I marched over to west 4th and ordered a meal. DELICIOUS! Now we need to get the word out!
I was at the 1372 Broadway location. I’ve gone to Taim many times and enjoyed the food very much. This time I was struck by what a great job the person who waited on me did. Her name was Dian and she was polite, extremely efficient and and most certainly brightened up my day. Thank you again for hiring someone that does such a great job!
Bassem the supervisor was very nice and friendly The food was delicious and i like how the place looks
Excellent and delicious food! Very clean place and good service!
I love this location the food is amazing and the team here is so supportive & friendly I’m always satisfied by the time I’m leaving west village keep up the great work guys .❤️❤️
Food was delicious and the falafel was so soft. the service was not very kind of helpful when it came to choices. The way it was served was very messy - there must be a way to make a wrap where it’s not coming out of every corner.
I’m guessing Taim is the originators of this particular theme (Mediterranean vegetarian bowls) in the city - since then many other similar ones have popped up but none match the quality of this place. Each of their locations offers the same standards. I find this a go-to whenever I’m in town. Superb!
Amazing experience at Taim! Michael and Ebony were incredibly friendly, and the falafel bowl was perfect - crispy, flavorful, and fresh. Great food, even better service! Highly recommend!
Great fresh food at a reasonable price. Very convenient.
This is only a carry out place, but for good fresh quick healthy vegetarian options in the village, it's a go-to. We stumbled upon it just trying to get out of the rain and our mistake was not being able to watch the stuff being made for the people before us. If I had to do it over I would order a pita stuffed with everything in the counter trays. Then I would lather some of the great sauces on top and destroy it. As it was I got a Greek salad which is fine all right. The falafel was fresh and bite size. A great meal but don't make my mistake. Go custom and load up on all of the little salad accoutrement.
Amazing falafel and hummus. I love this place!
Food was great I love going there team was great I’ll be back soon
This place is amazing the first time I went. I am so happy they started opening up more locations. Their falafel is unmatched in the city. They have three different kinds and they are all so tasty along with their salads and hummus. I love getting a bowl from them.
Good customer service food amazing !! Love the host and all the staff
The best food, OG taim spot. The staff is amazing. Had the chicken shawarma plate and cauliflower pita
Ebony and Mel are Amazing People and food reflects the love and enthusiasm they have.. Highly Recommended... Best Mediterranean Kitchen
Great experience here, the service was very friendly and the food incredible. Super convenient location too.
Ebony at Taim is a legend. Five massive stars. Warm, friendly, and had my order ready like she was reading my mind. Her energy? Immaculate. My bowl? Built like it was made for the cover of a magazine. She turned a regular dinner into a whole event. Why was it fun? IDK, but that's exactly why I'm writing this review. I was lucky to meet her. And Taim, you're lucky to have her. Great spot. Even greater employee. Yay, thank you for the awesome experience :)
Had a great experience ordering here. Great service and food! Would recommend
Delicious food and friendly guy. Definitely will be back. Great for a quick meal
Bassem is the MAN, love him and his Taim location:) definitely my weekly go to
Amazing service and delicious food. Definitely recommend the lamb shawarma pita
Delicious Mediterranean food, super flavorful. Not for the wimpy. Tahini is rich with sesame oil, hummus is full of garlic, eggplant dip is hearty and lemon-y. Their pita, very fresh and light, is dusted with za'atar and cumin. Falafel come in spicy or regular, both are delicious and light. Don't skip the Mint Ginger Lemonade. Good for kids and vegetarians who appreciate subtle flavors. Fast counter service, nice staff, zero ambiance so it's better for takeout than to sit-in at their counter.
Overall: With some of the best falafel I've ever had, Taim's reputation doesn't disappoint. If you have any itch for falafel, stop by and grab some! The good: The.best.falafel.ever! It was hot, soft on the inside yet crunchy on the outside, and has a great kick to it. It's not spicy by any means, but there's something there that makes it special. The salad I got came with 6 pieces and a generous base with some tasty tahini sauce. It may not have been the healthiest salad, but I don't give a damn after having it. The not-so-good: Small space, only seats 3-4 inside and 2-3 outside on their bench. So you're better off ordering for takeout, which sucks because the falafel is best hot and fresh. Also, a tad pricey for a salad, and the salad itself had a touch too much dressing on it. Atmosphere: 7.5/10 Service: 8/10 Food: 10/10
Super warm and friendly staff. They communicate well and are enthusiastic to provide excellent service . The food was delicious and flavorful and super fast. Will definitely come back.
I love the fresh ingridients. Everyone at the register is nice and attentive. Halal options too!! This is my regular spot. Highly recommend!
I love Taim and have for many years, especially the west village location. Great falafel, great sabich, great fries, and great date smoothie.
Ebony and Alberto were so awesome today. They were extremely friendly and super willing to help all customers with anything they need. The store is clean and the food was great!
After my visit to your midtown store, I noticed that this location was close to my doctor's office. Came for lunch and it was amazing!! Meet my expectations. Thank you Ebony, great customer service
This is hands down the BEST place for FALAFEL!!! Their seasoning is out of this world along with their presentation of food and the prices are very reasonable. It's a little hole in the wall with only 4 chairs inside and a bench out in the front but there's always a line because the food is genuinely delicious and satisfying. The cleanliness of the kitchen is superb and they also have online ordering available too!
Have been coming to this place for years, and it’s been dependable; great food, fresh ingredients, and delicious combinations. Very fast service off-hours. Healthy and tasty
I love eating at Taim! Perfect spot for lunch break or a quick dinner. Fast and delicious, it’s my go to for something quick and healthy when I’m running around the city. Love it here and will continue to come back!!
Taim in the West Village has quickly become my go-to takeout spot for Mediterranean/ Israeli food! I got the chicken shawarma bowl for dinner and it was perfect… packed with flavor, super fresh ingredients, and still warm and delicious by the time I got home. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, and all the toppings tasted so clean and vibrant. Highly recommend!
Found this little place randomly on one of my walks and it has become my go-to! Such great mediterranean food - so fresh, healthy and flavorful! The pita is great too!
This is one of my favorite little neighborhood shops for the best falafel! It has long been my go to. I highly recommend it! The sandwiches and salads never disappoint. Try the Ginger Mint Lemonade as well! The service is friendly and always on point.
I am 69 years old and I have eaten a lot of falafel. this is the best falafel I have ever had. The staff is so friendly that it is a pleasure just to walk in the door. Also the fries with saffron aioli are incomparable. Absolutely 5 stars. I would give them more stars if I could.
The man working there is incredible! I had a problem with my order and he went above and beyond. The customer service was very personal. I am coming back just because of that. I wish I asked for his name! The food was 10/10! I got the signature chicken shawarma plate. The meat was juicy and flavourful! The toppings were delicious and they weee generous with the sauce! Thank you!!
Best falafel outside Israel ! Visiting Manhattan from Texas (Israeli family) and have had this place on my list for a while. Finally stopped in today for a falafel pita sandwich. Downloaded the app and got amazing FREE Hummus & Zatar Pita. Get the Mint Ginger Lemonade, you’ll thank them after !
Good for a quick buy. Not a lot of seating so figure on takeout
Found! If you are on the move in the West Village and need a quick, delicious, and healthy meal than you should stop by Taïm. Taïm means tasty in Hebrew. This no frills storefront has everything you need, good food served quickly. Started in 2005 by a 5' tall warrior princess from Israel names Einat. The Falafel is made from the freshest ingredients and fried up to order...no sitting around. I recommend ordering the platter so you can indulge in the hummus, tahini, pickled cabbage, and Israeli salad. I will note that the food is spicy and full of flavor, a departure from the Mediterranean street food encountered in the typical food trucks. Pretty yummy. Afrobeats were playing and in the somewhat busy space I was the only one (besides the workers) jammin out. First time there and service was quick, food was good. Wish the fries were on top. I tried to cheat the system to know what their “famous” fries taste like. I’ll be back for sure though.
Really solid falafel, if not exploding with flavor, it was still delicious. Almost 5 stars but not quite because of playing it safe with the spices. Perfect ratio of tahini, tomatoes, cucumber, ask for pickles. Actually, you can request any item from their little display and it’s included…feta, marinaded garbanzos, etc. It’s quite good! Pricing is reasonable. Music is good. You just sit at a counter facing the quiet street.
Consistently one of the better falafel places downtown... The food is always good, and lines are to be expected during busy hours. This location is the original one, and seating is limited to 4-5 people inside this small "room.". Service, however, has taken a tumble when we visited on 11/15/19, as the original founders are no longer there, so have to rely on workers who are obviously not too thrilled with serving the crowds. So come here for the food but that's it.
Not bad falafel. Overpriced. Only 6 small falafel balls inside a pita. No fries eggplant option to put into falafel. Taim ? Maybe. There is a place where to improve. But it was definitely overpriced.
Ratings for this was high. So my bar went up. To be honest the falafel was small, portion was small for the price I paid. What you see in the picture is $14. It looks bigger than it is in real life. For a takeaway store this small plater is pricey. I won't discount the taste and freshness of the tabouli. Just less satisfying with the small portion.
I have worked in the West Village for years and have consistently seen the quality of this location’s food decline while the prices rise. The latest order I placed today will be my last! Ordered a falafel bowl with half rice and half hummus. There is barely any hummus and the rice is dry and stale, not how they used to make it. I dunno why their quality just gets worse since they are a popular lunch spot. Oh and now they charge for a pita on the side of a bowl. Fortunately the falafels are still good, but this isn’t worth the $17 bowl for me any more.
If you are vegetarian or eat Kosher, this place is fantastic! If not, it’s an average healthy option for takeout. Their falafel was good, kinda dry. The couscous base was great. The pearls were large which I like. Hot peppers added more flavor, not too spicy. Fries are more limp but the aioli with them is a perfect dipping sauce. My mind wasn’t blown, but it’s a reliably good, healthy meal.
This place used to be our favorite. Yesterday (Sunday) when we went there, there was one single, overworked person doing everything (taking orders and doing kitchen work). The chicken in the shawarma I ordered had weird texture. Both of the pitas (chicken shawarma and falafel) we ordered were drenched in liquid. I can’t blame the overworked employee.
A falafel sandwich and a smoothie for delivery came out to $35 with tip for delivery person. Laughable. The distance to deliver was maybe 5 blocks. Smoothie was wrapped in a plastic bag, and inside it was swimming in a portion of smoothie. Delivery person demanded a “delivery code” from me. Had no idea what he was talking about. The sandwich was fine. Their $15 one is not better than the $6 one from Mamoun’s in the same neighborhood. Weird experience.
Sadly, Taïm has noticeably gone downhill in the last year or so. I previously wrote a 5 star review, but after a recent visit, I was quite disappointed. When the menu first got revamped, allowing for more customization, I was incredibly impressed. The falafel bowls were really delicious, and I felt like you got a lot for your money. I’d been away for most of the last year, and was excited to have Taïm soon after arriving back in New York. The bowl has been reduced to a rather small plate, and the price has increased quite a bit as well. I understand that price increases are happening everywhere, but the serving size being significantly reduced as well is an issue. THE BIGGEST ISSUE is how small the falafels have gotten. The ones I got seemed to be 80% crust and 20% filling. I’m really disappointed because Taïm used to have the best falafel in the village. Another thing that really bothered me was how poorly cooked the couscous was. A lot of the pearls were so hard to the point that I could’ve chipped a tooth if I bit down hard enough. I personally think this is a product of their fairly rapid expansion, which has clearly made quality control difficult to manage. With some new competition in the neighborhood, I really have no reason to come here anymore.
I used to love Taïm but my experiences the last few times I’ve gone in the past couple of years have been consistently disappointing. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be going back. The portions are smaller, prices have gone up, and the food is noticeably worse. I went yesterday and got a falafel bowl with rice. Our order came without the sauce we ordered (probably because the one employee at the place was fulfilling a lot of orders on his own), the rice was tough and dry, and the toppings flavorless. They were out of a lot of menu items we requested. I feel for the employees, who appear overworked. They used to keep a full kitchen staff whereas now, I only see one or two poor employees running the entire place.
The guy at the counter was not at all helpful. Looked bored and won’t answer questions in more than one word.
Has been a local go to forever but quality of service has been completely forgotten about. Went in and attempted to place an identical order to one I placed 3 days ago and was presented with a lecture on how that wasn’t possible and then a grilling about who may have served me. I left. After many years, not sure I’ll continue to go back.
I’m a longtime fan of taim, but this latest visit was just terrible. There was no one in line but my wait was 15 minutes; somehow the falafel was burnt; and beyond all that, there was almost nothing in my sandwich. I contemplated complaining, but this location is so filthy, that I just wanted to get back to the street. Beyond disappointing.
This place used to be amazing! I’m really not sure what happened but the food no longer looks good and doesn’t taste good either five years ago this place was off the charts. I don’t know what happened.
As a local come here often but place has gone down in quality SIGNIFICANTLY in past 6 months. Small portions, missing ingredients from orders, unfriendly staff. Sadly I think you’re better off going to Hummus co, Just Salad, or even Naya and you’re likely to get a better meal out of it. Management or something must have changed.
Currently (12/18/25) closed by the NYC department of health! Went by to get a falafel and saw the closure notice.
walked 8min through 20 degree weather to be met with a closed door :( closed on a tuesday at 2pm? short staffed or something?
Visited this restaurant in NYC and it was flavorless. The food tastes like it has no soul
start to finish terrible experience. bad service. bad vibes. greek salad and spindrift for $19 with no protein and lame feta. very sad.
Went here twice. First was a Thursday night and it was super busy so it took a while to get food, but the staff was quick and courtesy. The food was pretty good but nothing great. Second time was 3PM on a Friday, I was one of three people in the place. I ordered first and I saw them throw mine together then put it back on a counter. I figured it was a take out order. Then they made the other two peoples food, gave it to them. The staff was complaining how their coworkers were lazy and it was pretty awkward. Then they figured out the food they made first was mine. So it was about 5 minutes of just sitting there getting cold. Ok whatever if it’s hot fresh falafel that’s not a problem. I had about a 5 minute walk until I got to where I was eating it. Falafel is ice cold all the way through, with a kinda over cooked look. I noticed they took them out of a pan under a heat lamp. The sides taste pretty stale too, like they’ve been refrigerated for a while. Pita was super stale and looks like they put oil all over it to hide that. It was pretty gross. It was pretty expensive too, $13 and change. I’d go anywhere else. There is way better falafel for less money nearby.
The girl behind the register was very polite. Unfortunately after ordering i realized that the recipes were stolen from what are traditionally Arabic recipes and named Israeli. Why does Israeli culture always have to steal everything from the Arabic culture including language, music, and my favorite thing food. Its pretty simple a made up state like Israel cannot have recipes like hummus and falafel because they lack longevity. With that being said the food tasted extremely unauthentic almost like someone was told this is the recipe we are going to copy or as if it were premade. I do not support anything. New York city has so many authentic middle eastern restaurants to visit and this is definitely not one of them. I will not be going back. I gave 3 stars on the service because the girl was polite until I stated my opinion!
