they had the goods if you ask for a sapote milkshake they will make it, don't know of another spot that will do it
I moved on this block 15 years ago and it's one of the few places that's still around and there's a reason. Confusing as hell to order food but man beans and rice and some protein from here are what gets so many of us by. Absolutely love this place.
The women who serve are always courteous and patient. The food 😋 is very good and reasonable. I appreciate the Good service so much I always use the TIP BOX. Using the TIP BOX helps the women tremendously.
Overall I come back here because of the food…service is okay depending on who you get helping you but this place is definitely a take out place do not sit here to eat. Too many homeless people. I came here one time after giving birth to pick up food before heading home and I had to deal with a crazy homeless man it’s too much …just grab your food and go like I said that’s why I keep coming back it’s delicious
I had their chopped chicken and yellow rice with red beans and I fell in love and their carrot cake was so moist and sweet I was on cloud 9. I they give you so much food I ate twice and will be going back for more.
Been coming here for years, the servers are always friendly and the food is always good. I love the pernil and the pollo guisado most. Huge delicious portions for lunch you can't go wrong.
This place is inexpensive. They are not fancy or concerned with decor image. They just focus on delicious food. If you want quick delivery forget about it. You will have to wait but when that food arrives it will be worth it. This is authentic Dominican food. Just drop by, pick up your food and go. If you decide to stay there then for that price be happy they even give you a place to sit. Hands down my favorite Rice and Bean place. You can even ask them to top off your food with an egg and they will happy to accommodate.
In all fairness, I will admit that their food is delicious, however, their servers can use improvement! Serving food is like sitting in the front desk of an office, You are the face!! No one desires to walk into an office or restaurant, where you're "MEAN MUGGING!" SMILE AND BE COURTEOUS.
This is very good food at a good price. After trying Mofongo for the first time a couple of days ago at another place, I wanted to see if I would have the same experience at my local place. While good the Mofongo did not knock me off my feet. However the Mofongo was decent and you got a lot of it, like the bag was seriously heavy. They also had to specially make it for me and the staff was helpful and friendly. So it is decent, only a block away and inexpensive, Ill go again, however I cannot rave about it.
Brought two chicken salads - okay. What I don't like is pieces were not cut up, the tomatoes were not diced, it was barbarian like. Nevertheless if I buy again will ask to chop up everything so it's bite-size. The morir soñando was very delicious and worth price. I am going to learn how to make it so yummy.
Good place to get a quick bite not a good spot to eat in homeless people approach you while eating in the take out dish wear because they don't have actual plates and food is over priced .
Language is an issue here, but if you know what to order then it's fine. The food isn't particularly good, but I love some of their desserts. Tres leches was bad and dry.
Had food poisoning all last night from a few bites of their peril, yellow rice and red beans
Customer service in this location is not great. If you do not speak Spanish the tend to not want to help you the same.
I purchased food and dessert for my family, including a cake. While my daughter was eating it, she noticed mold on the cake. This was extremely upsetting and unacceptable, especially since it was meant to be enjoyed together as a family. Food should never be sold in this condition. I expected much better quality control.
Discrimination/ Bias: I ordered food for delivery from this restaurant today and spoke with a man on the phone. I provided my address and phone number and at no time during that call did the person say that they do not deliver to the apartments in the projects. In fact, we have ordered from them before and the delivery people have brought food right to the door without issue. Today, there seemed to be some issue. The delivery person would not come up and my mother who is elderly and walks with a cane could not come down. She had to wait to call someone in the building or struggle to come herself. A woman from the restaurant called talking very fast and over me (I placed the phone order) saying “we do not come up in the projects, you have to come down.” As I’m trying to explain the situation she continues to yell and say do you want the food or to cancel the food. She continued to yell and not listen to the paying customer. She instead kept repeating the same thing. After telling her that this is rude, and discriminatory, I hung up. I will not order from this establishment again because of the above behavior and because of stereotypes that place simple because someone lives in the projects. If you don’t want to deliver to residents that live in the projects do not put your business in those neighborhoods.
Asked for quarter chicken they said I can only get half, it was dry. Ordered tres leches and it was spoiled. Tried calling to make complaint no one answered so I took a picture of my food to bring the next day. Was told without the actual spoiled food with the receipt I couldn’t get a refund or new cake. They lost my business.
